I finally found a reliable and knowledgeable electrician. I bought a ReVent brand vent light from Home Depot to replace my rusty bathroom light fixture. I needed an electrician and turned to my Yelp peeps and Woo's did not disappoint! They are busy at this time so it may take 3 weeks before they can do project. We are slowly trying to update our outdated house and had fluorescent lights that we had to flick on and off so much the neighbors probably thought we were sending signals. We've had various other electricians out over the years but after reading the reviews decided to book an appointment with Woo's given their high ratings. We waited about 6 weeks for them to come out and replace ballasts and fluorescent lights, replace some hall fixtures with led lights and install new lights fixtures under our house. Marvin and his helper were so efficient and helpful we have had them back twice now. They wear masks and come on time -actually text when they are on their way. Recently they replaced all our electrical switches and plugs on one floor and installed an outlet in the garage. He explained his thought processes, and entertained all questions. Ultimately, upon realizing that the cost to repair the appliance might outweigh the benefits (as our dishwasher was already 12 years old), as there was no clear cut cause for the problem, we decide to hold off on proceeding with any repairs (and to explore our options). We had a really disappointed experience from them. I'm sorry my English is poor but I try my best to write down about the story. We had a service to put a chandelier on the ceiling. After making a appointment, two guys came in to take a estimate. I was there to explain : 1:where the exact spot to place chandelier, 2:showing the best way to hide a new power line from the wall to ceiling, and also asked them 3: to set a dimmable switch for it. So total asked 3things for chandelier. A few days later,we had a estimate showing in a picture. And scheduled the earliest appointment we could, was one month later from last visit. At the service day, Two of them came in , one is different from last time. The other was same. One guy (came in first time)started drilling on the wrong ceiling spot to pull a new power to a chandelier till I just noticed their work. We asked them to fix it because that's very different plan from last meeting. How come it happens?? really confused... One of them was here last time to make a today's plan for. After while I came back to check the power line, and second time. The line wasn't still set correct.I didn't want to tell them to fix it again, I felt that made the atmosphere worse. But I told them. The guy from last time was kept signing every time I asked for. He said " I don't remember(the today's plan)"... I decided to stay away from the construction place until they're done. In the end ,they put a regular switch instead of dimmable one. Really disappointed. After they left, I asked them again for replacing switch part. I attache a picture from our conversation between them and me. According to estimate, they say they don't have a duty to replace the switch. I wish they would have written what we asked down because that's what we discussed with them before we received the estimate. If you would like them to ask improvement, you have to stay with them all the time and need check often how the things going. otherwise you'll Not get exactly what you want. My top-load washer (Whirlpool, direct drive) stopped spinning and agitating, so I searched around on the internet and diagnosed it as the motor coupling. I ordered the part myself on Amazon but was too lazy to install it so I called around to some appliance repair stores to get a labor quote. This is when I found Woo's Electrical & Appliance. Their quote was reasonable and booking the appointment was very easy with friendly service. They were quite busy so I asked if they could let me know if they had any cancellations, which they ended up doing, but I was busy during that time. No worries, I kept my original appointment date/time. They also have a booking system that texts you appointment reminders and notifies you when their tech is on the way. Fast forward, their technician Mike arrived on time and was very friendly. I showed him the washer and he had no issue getting it apart and found that it was in fact the motor coupling. Our washer is a high use appliance at our house so it was a real bummer to have it all of a sudden stop working. The water wouldn't drain from the machine. Called a repair place I found on Google that had good reviews and claimed they were available 24/7. After a miscommunication on when they could come out, when the repair person finally came; he didn't even touch my washing machine - just gave me a diagnosis based on my report and went down the list of charges that amounted to over $400! I had a bad feeling, so I called Woo's as we have used them before for other repairs. June was great as always, and had someone come out the very next day. Although Mike diagnosed the same issue as the first company (after actually looking at the machine) it was HALF the price of what the other place quoted me! Mike was very polite, prompt, and efficient. He was professional yet personable and I trusted his assessment and work. Terrible, I called this place to service a Sears Kenmore Dryer because the heater element was not working at full capacity. The service technician arrived promptly, and was courteous. He refused to work on the machine, and here is his written quote "Dryer is situated within a cabinet enclosure. Moving machine out and putting it back in would take too much time/effort. Hurricane Ana was headed our way so during our storm preparations, we were filling our bathtubs and washer with water for hygienic use. As I turned on our washer to fill with water, I suddenly noticed a puddle forming on the floor and the water pressure had dropped. I quickly turned off the machine, looked at and felt the water-feed pipes for any leaks. Luckily, there weren't any leaking pipes as I narrowed my "investigation" to water dripping from the machine itself. I called out to my husband for help and he immediately came running out to me. We both agreed that the problem was from the machine and not plumbing so, we set out looking for appliance repair on yelp. We found Woo's Electrical & Appliance with high yelp ratings so my husband called for an appointment. We hoped that a technician would be able to come out before the hurricane was to hit. As luck would have it, Marvin, owner/technician, responded that he was near our neighborhood at another job. He said that he could get to our place as soon as he completed his work, same day. Within an hour, Marvin arrived. Marvin was friendly and efficient. He confirmed our assessment that the leak was coming from the washer not plumbing. Within a few minutes, he removed a panel from our washer and diagnosed the problem. He brought out a bucket of parts and tools while providing us a quote for repair and travel. Heck, we figured that since he was already here and the problem was minor (valve) that we'd just have him take care of it. He replaced the offending valve, cleaned the attached hoses and tested the water flow pressure. He complimented us for maintaining our washer so well even though we bought and installed these appliances (Maytag) about 20 years ago. Thanks to Woo's and yelp, our washer is running like brand-new. I somehow broke the dryer. It's not even an old dryer. It was still blowing hot air but not spinning. It's like having a blow dryer only dry one side of your head. So not useful. I called Woo's and described the problem. Marvin said he can take a look at it to diagnose the problem. While Marvin said he couldn't do it right at that moment, he could look at it the next day. I just wanted to know if it was fixable or have to buy a new dryer. Marvin took a look at it the next day and was able to fix it quickly. His little helper was really cute, too. A fire in our laundry area left our water heater damaged along with wiring for our garage and washer. Marvin was kind enough to fit us in his busy schedule to first get our water heater on line, then fix the line so that our garage door opener had power.
