They even remembered my favorite drink that their bartender made for me downstairs and had a whole bottle of it in my hotel room when I walked in after a long night. I almost cried because of the attention to detail, that was so sweet and considerate of them to remember something so specific. Everything was also very pristine and clean, which is something I'm very picky about. I absolutely loved staying here and would recommend it to everyone. If you can stay here or are ever considering it, PLEASE stay here I think everyone deserves and needs to experience the hospitality and beautiful architecture and atmosphere and views they have to offer.

The fire dance was on the lawn at 7pm-- it was really something! Thrilling! It was great to get a taste of Hawaiian cultural performance without paying for a full luau (I called around to all the Wailea luaus and no one offered a "show only" option for someone with a restricted diet (they suggested I pay full price and just not eat).

Their suites are spacious and the lanai is perfect to watch sunsets every night. The pools are crowded and I did not use them but I did like the beach and service throughout the hotel. Check in was an easy process. Lux in particular was super nice and helped me deal with an issue I was having. They have a nice gym, I didn't use it as I having too much fun on this trip! Plenty of restaurants on site. Self parking is free and plenty so valet isn't necessary. My advice is to call the concierge before you arrive and book the complementary canoe ride as it gets filled fast. I called them from LA 2 weeks before arriving and got the last spot. It was one of the highlights of my trip! If you like great service, amazing views and like staying in South Maui, this is one of my favorite hotels there. I will definitely be back!

I have stayed in a ocean view suite and standard king rooms. They either have balconies or patios that lead out to the pool area. I prefer the balconies but it's personal preference. One thing to note, to access the pools, there are a significant amount of steps. You can take an elevator to the Bumbeye beach bar (level 2) but you will have to walk up and down to get to the lowest level pool and to the beach. If you have mobility issues, please be aware that this is the only way to access the beach. There are golf carts that the hotel has that can reach this area but double check if this is something they can do for you. This is my second time being there as a globalist as my first time was probably abour 7-10 years ago. honestly a minute. we were welcomed with the same lei and coconut necklace, some welcome juice non alocholic, and wash towels for cleaning the face which is all cute. they stopped giving water bracelets and its now just keys which sucks because how do we do beach activities and not worry about things like key card getting lost? they said its part of their changes. big change is their breakfast - less selection compared to before - i'd like to say they have gone downhill since last time I been around. The breakfast menu have changed in that if you want to have an omelette, there is no longer a self-help omelette station where you tell the chef what you want and they make it for you. You would now have to order it with a server, and the omelette is not included. also specialty coffee is also now not included just regular coffee, which tasted awful. Like many things about Hyatt, and this economy, this is to no surprise. if you are a globalist, they do still cover valet parking which is amazing, the pools are a bit overcrowded when we went during the summer, and the yoga mats all smell like feet, seems like they did not do much TLC in that department. The yoga instructors are all on a 1099 contract, it seems but the people and quality have decreased because of the 2 that we met; they were not friendly at all compared to the last time I was there. it just seems like a job for them. All the excursions that were included were all booked out right when we arrived, making it nearly impossible to do anything in the property. i mean it is still an amazing, relaxing experience. They couldn't really upgrade us because it was a full house already and kind of chaotic (we went during summer July time so peak season) It's still a newer hotel and had more TLC done to it than other hotels within Hawaii I'd like to say, but for the price point im a little disappointed. Also we had found hair and among other stuff in the bathroom meaning they haven't cleaned it properly upon arrival. I know they had recently changed GM and all but for the points i used to book the hotel, and the price mark during peak season I had a higher expectation no offense. the wings are all a bit confusing and they don't really have a map guide - the first day took me a while to get in the middle of the week of our stay the fire alarm went off at 3am which lasted a while, which i texted the front desk and they reassured it was false alarm, and then what was worst was 40 minutes later when we were about to sleep they said all clear like 30 minutes back-to-back, which became even more confusing and alerting - like if we were not awaken previosuly by the alarm, we are awaken now - but other than that i'd rate it a 8/10 experience given the price point, the lack of expereince we can gain from the resort. and if it isnt for globalist benefit, it would've def been lower rating. still a beautiful place don't get me wrong but just quite expensive, but i am sure if you havent been here when it was amazing, this would've been a 10/10 experience for anyone easy.

It's also located next to The Shops at Wailea, a luxury shopping mall. We were told that the resort was in the shape of a turtle, and once that was mentioned the resort map made it obvious. The resort is along a string of luxury hotels right by the water connected by a walking/running path. In the morning you'll see tons of people along that path. We got a double queen bed with ocean views, and the bathroom contained both a tub and a shower. The resort amenities include but are not limited to a gym, multiple pools (including an adult-only one), lounge chairs, cabanas, water slides, and a spa. The spa had complimentary fitness classes which we took advantage of. Some of them were on the beach and in the fitness room, but some are paid. There are activities like massages, sound baths, and other types of wellness activities. To use the pool amenities you need a wristband which you get by one of the covered areas. Only valet parking is available for $80/night. They also have a on-site luau which I went to although I've been to better ones. There's a chapel and we even witnessed a wedding during our time there. We also went to Nobu at the resort which I enjoyed. Although it's a luxury resort, some parts of the resort were outdated and broken such as the room signs. The room interior was modern but some exterior parts of the building were on the older side. The location and the views are definitely the selling point of the resort, and it's a place you want to stay at to take advantage of the views and amenities.

What I thought were rocks were actually plastic looking boulders. This would have been fine but on the walkway to the Wailea shops there were broken boulders so you see that they are fake and the pond empty. An eyesore. The room service staff were great and took good care of keeping the room clean. However the refrigerator in the room had been turned off and had a stale smell. Having 4 TV's at home and actually had a Samsung I think I know how to troubleshoot problems. As we were getting ready to retire we turned the TV on and were directed to the promotional hotel page. We had no access to regular TV. Called the front desk for help and they asked me "do you know what is wrong?" No that is why I am calling you. Instead of going to bed I had to wait 30 minutes for help to arrive. The problem ended up being on the hotel end and the problem was fixed. The repairman dropped his toolset in my clothing drawer below the TV and left. Which I had to make a trip down to the front desk to drop off. In addition to dropping off the tools I had received a letter in the room telling me of upcoming service and they needed 45 minutes in the room. Not sure why this maintenance was not done on the front end or back end when I left? Now I am getting annoyed and the woman at the front desk said they are SEVERELY understaffed. The manager did give me a $300 credit but the damage was already done. Our room was $815 a night. The pool area was a circus, which I understand because families want that last summer trip. A great portion of the pool was closed for maintenance, including the lazy river. If you want a nice chaise lounge with an umbrella you need to get to the pool very early and stake your claim. So you are competing for your space. One of the days the towel station was out of towels. If you want a preferred area or cabana you are going to pay. There were some positives on the property but the negatives prevailed. The hotel is tired and needs to be upgraded. Especially for a Waldorf Astoria. In retrospect I should have gone down the street to the Four Seasons or the Fairmont. Even though I am a Hilton Honors member.

Threes, in town, great staff (ask for Josh) and food. Nalu, great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. 30 min walk or short drive. Great happy hour, ahi tacos the best. Monkey pod, but I like the one in Kaanapali best, better views. Salesman Dan Hunter was respectful and informative for our update, not pushy! Beaches nearby: Polo beach, great boardwalk along resorts in Wailea. Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, you can walk the wooden bridge and then the beach. You can walk the beach all along Kīhei, even across the street, it just isn't easy in some areas. Cons: Need a car! The adult pool at the resort was cloudy and dirty from the pigeon's. Never saw them cleaning the pool until we complained the third day. Then they tried to clean it better l, especially after our review and we complained again. They need to do something about the pigeons before it gets better. The other pools were pristine. You rarely see a pool attendant, no help moving chairs or umbrellas. Only the adult pool area have nice comfortable covers, about 25, the rest are very uncomfortable. Wore down crappy cabanas with dirty covers, no TV's working or refrigerators, not that I would use them, but if you have them they should be in working order. Complained to Chanel, day manager who didn't seemed too concerned. She did come down and looked but no feedback expect pool service did seem to improve, just not resolved. The grab and go is really just a small fast food restaurant, no food only drinks. Are room was great except for dirty floors from something they put on them (photo with stain from wet foot). Moldy shower walls (photo). Cabinet in front of sink has a handle I hit my head on each time I wash dishes. Washer very loud!

During what could have been a stressful situation, she made everything much easier for us. We really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. Pros: The staff throughout the property were very friendly and welcoming. The resort did not feel overcrowded, which made for a relaxing stay. Our room was modern, spacious, and comfortable, with a full-size kitchen that was great to have. There are a few areas that could use improvement. Housekeeping could benefit from additional training and attention to detail, as the room cleaning was not as thorough as we would have expected. The patio furniture also appeared as though it had not been cleaned in a very long time, possibly since the property opened. Unfortunately, it was dirty enough that we did not feel comfortable sitting outside and enjoying the patio. Another disappointment was the food situation. The website indicates there is a kitchen on site, but there are actually no restaurants at the property, including by the pool, and there is no real breakfast option. There is a bar across the street with limited hours that serves bar food, as well as a grab-and-go area. We received a coupon for the grab-and-go, but the options with the coupon were extremely limited. We were only able to order a premade McMuffin-style breakfast sandwich, while the other items were not eligible with the coupon. Despite these areas for improvement, we are still giving our stay five stars because of the friendly staff and, most importantly, the way Shermila and the front desk team took care of us during a difficult situation with the storm. That level of service made a lasting impression and was very much appreciated.

Despite that, he continued yelling "GET OUT OF THE POOL!!" I am not kidding he yelled at the top of his lungs at least 5x more times. To the point that I responded that we were already getting out and had apologized, and that repeating it was unnecessary. His response was, "Well, you guys don't know how to read the sign, so you clearly need to be told several times." Wow. I completely understand the pool has posted hours and have no issue being asked to leave once I realized it was closed. That part was my mistake. What was disappointing was the way my 11 year old son and I were treated after we immediately complied. There was no reason to repeatedly yell at us or make disrespectful comments. Guests deserve to be treated with courtesy, even when they've made an honest mistake. I hope management addresses how guests are spoken to, because this interaction left a very negative impression. As a suggestion, it might help to automatically turn the pool lights off (if this happened we would have left immediately) and/or disable the gate keypad when the pool closes. We honestly didn't realize the posted hours and those changes would make it much more obvious that the pool was closed while also preventing situations like this. Because of this my family and I will never stay here again. There are plenty of other options just as good or better on Maui. TLDR: The pool closes at 8pm! If in the pool after be prepared to get yelled at by the staff repeatedly with disrespectful comments made to you and your children.

Upon entering the room, we were immediately confronted with the following unsanitary and unacceptable conditions:-Heavy dust accumulation on multiple surfaces, indicating a lack of routine cleaning-What we didn't know the unit smelled musty/moldy, None of this shows on pictures. This is not the first negative review of this complex. They date back to 2012. This is an ongoing issue and all they care about is renting regardless of the condition of the units.
