Tri Valley temps were hitting almost 100 so wanted something to cool down. Found this highly rated place on yelp. They sell a ham & cheese croissant, coffees, teas, lattes, and four flavors of Japanese shaved ice called kakigori, which is the star of the show. The texture of this shaved ice is like fluffy cool softness that melts in your mouth. It is different than the traditional shaved ice and it is far from a snow cone. We ordered mango and kinako (a roasted soybean flour commonly mixed with sugar). These are large desserts! It takes time to make them since there are fresh ingredients inside. The mango was superb with little bits of fresh mango buried inside the ice. Not sickeningly sweet like the syrups most places use. My husband's had little mochi pieces mixed inside. It is common to add kinako to mochi so this was a bonus and a nice surprise. The kinako dessert was sweeter than the mango. Please know that there seems to be no a/c in this little shop but she has fans going. We went in the late afternoon so it was really uncomfortable inside. I had to leave and wait outside until the dessert was ready. It's hard to take these home as it melts fast so we sat inside to enjoy them. It was like heaven in my mouth and it cooled me down instantly. You must be patient as it takes at least 10-15 minutes for her to prepare the desserts but it is worth the wait! There is a small parking lot right in front shared with other businesses. Located right off the freeway behind Burger King.
This is a small coffee shop sandwich between two hair salons. When I went in the owner made me a delicious iced vanilla latte! Total was $6.88. Great coffee, small little shop, I hope more people check this spot out. The coffee shop has such homeness to it; you could feel the love in this cafe.
ngl I have been trying to gate keep this place for years now haha occasionally telling my friends to go try the roasted rice matcha omg & the shaved ice! Are you kidding me? Everything is handmade & fresh. The lady who runs this shop is the sweetest & always is so kind to us. We love it here because most of the time it is super quiet!
Was craving something refreshing and sweet. Went 30 minutes before they closed. Worker was very kind and explained the different flavors offered. Went with the mango flavor and enjoyed it very much. Really want to try more flavors next time. Inside is small but cozy. Nice mom and pop shop. Will continue to support!
This place feels like a hidden gem in the Tri-Valley. I like how this cute little cafe is local owned and there are good variety of drinks and desserts. Apparently, they are well known for their bingsu (Korean shaved ice). For me, that's a great spot for a hot summer day or perhaps all year round. The woman working was by herself and was friendly. I got the Honeycomb Latte with oat milk. I recommend letting it sit for a bit so the honeycomb flavor melts into the drink. The honeycomb pieces had a caramel like flavor with a slight smoky taste. I'd come back to try the shaved ice especially since summer is right around the corner.
Service: 5/5 very sweet lady she was very responsive and helped us out as first timers. Food/ Drink: 4/5 we ordered the horchata, strawberry matcha latte, and hojicha latte without coffee. The best was definitely the hojicha latte, it's roasted matcha with some sort of tea as a base. Very delicious! The horchata was warm at the bottom and cold at the top. Pretty chalky but has a light nutty flavor, I liked it but my boyfriend did not like due to the thickness. It does water down with the ice. Then the strawberry matcha was pretty good, the strawberry chucks makes it hard to enjoy it, regardless it's very good. Very satisfied with all the drinks. Ambiance: 4/5 it's small not a study spot but it's nice and homey. No music and doesn't get busy it seems. Check this place out and help out local shops!
Stopped by a handful of times for iced coffee and panna cotta, but there's never panna cotta. Not sure why it's even on the menu as being items available for purchase. Honeycomb & Spanish lattes are my go-tos. Have yet to try the shaved ice creams.
This place is so good for a shop so hidden away! I came during my lunch break and luckily it's right around the corner. The shop was quiet and empty but there was a lady working in the back. Once I decided on my order, I rang the little bell in the counter and she came right out. You have the try the strawberry matcha with boba!! I'm not sure what exact kind of boba she used but it's SO good, it almost tastes like brown sugar boba instead of plain cassava boba. I will be coming back to try more of their menu, I have my eye on the panna cotta! :)
Came by on a very hot Saturday afternoon and wanted to try Kinako shave ice and the Roasted Matcha Latte. Both were amazingly good, especially on a very hot day! The Kinako shaved ice was filled with mochi which was a nice surprise and the roasted matcha was smooth. The owner was really sweet and patient! Definitely will come back for the shaved ice :D
Little small mom and pop shop in the plaza with Burger King. They have various sizes for the drinks (small, regular, large), and a regular specialty latte ran to about $6.75. Prices are not clearly listed on the menu. Their coffee has quite the bitter aftertaste, so I'd be very curious to try their hojicha and especially the bingsu! PASS: + Honeycomb latte ($6.75 regular) has toasted honey and sugar topping, which melts into the drink about 30-46 min later and helps offset the bitterness. Didn't blow me away though because it just tasted like a plain latte with low quality espresso afterwards
We came in on a Sunday morning and it was not busy and in an unassuming plaza. The lady working was very friendly and we ordered a strawberry matcha and a honeycomb latte. The matcha color was good but it was on the sweeter end probably because of the strawberry jam but it overconsumed the matcha flavor. He got the honeycomb coffee and it was strong and had huge chunks of honeycomb that we weren't sure if it would break down. But it eventually did in about 30 min. The drinks were okay and weren't super impressive but it was worth a try!
First of all, the owner is so sweet! She greets you with the most radiant smile. Second of all, these drinks are STRONG. If you aren't a regular coffee drinker, it'll hitttt. Our favorite was the kamo, which the owner freshly and perfectly whisked the matcha for. The honeycomb latte was good but I would have preferred smaller chunks so it can fit in the straw. The espresso is rich and the perfect temp. And you can buy matcha to go! A chill spot with cute little anime decor for my nerds, which I am one so I loved seeing the Pokemon cards and whatnot. Will definitely be returning.
I had high hoped for Kamurocho. It's an unassuming cafe that has a relatively simple menu. However, I was incredibly disappointed by their roasted matcha rice latte. I ordered it with regular milk, hoping to get the flavor of matcha more, but instead the drink tasted like roasted rice and milk. There was absolutely no hint of matcha. Definitely would not recommend for matcha enthusiasts.

The kamo latte was interesting; it was a mix of matcha and espresso together. Maybe not for me because I found the flavors to clash with each other, but maybe next time I'll get something that's either only matcha or only espresso-based lol. I liked that the matcha was hand-whisked to order. Very nice. It's a small shop, run by a sweet lady. They have drinks, some pastries, and snacks (rice crackers) for sale. Also kakigori! We also had a matcha tiramisu and it was delicious. Very creamy with light cake/ladyfingers. read more

Went here to get coffee and it's like a small mom and pop shop, which I love!!! The woman who served us was so sweet, would come here again for her. I tried the honey comb latte which wasn't too sweet and perfect. Will come back for their shaved iced! read more

I am surprised how empty it was on a Sunday afternoon ! The woman who was helping us was so kind and helpful when I asked about the drinks. I got the honeycomb latte and it did not disappoint! The sweetness was perfect and you can still taste the coffee flavor. Also, they use organic milk so that's a plus for me. Give this place a try !!! read more

I tried their green tea latte with espresso shot. And it was pretty good. Not overly sweet and a rich matcha flavor. I tried their egg sandwich they had near the counter. It tastes like my mom made. I would get it next time again. One improvement would be their interior decor and seatings... it does give some cozy vibes but feels a bit like a hole in the wall. a cozy little dessert shop, kamurocho is a one-woman show. very limited hours too - they're only open on the weekends too! they have a bunch of matcha options: unique matcha drinks ranging from cherry to dragonfruit, to matcha bing soo to matcha tiramisu! we opted for 2 matcha tiramisus ($14 total) - and they were delicious! it is a small shop with one woman running the whole show, so please be patient once you order! :) when we arrived on a sunday afternoon, the shop was full with hungry people! read more

Drinks were not the greatest, a bit pricey. I got the Kamo Latte, my sister got a Jasmine. The matcha flavor isn't strong, the coffee is a bit overpowering. There was an ant in both of our drinks... Their work stations did feel like they were a bit dirty, but I didn't think much of it. Not sure if I would come back here to be honest. read more

I'm officially addicted to this place and probably come by too often. My go to: 1) if I want a lot of caffeine: Kamo Latte 2) if I want something with not as much caffeine: Roasted Matcha Rice (Medium is $5.75) I love both of them because of the rich intense matcha flavor. This is the only authentic Japanese shop that will hand whisk your matcha with a bamboo whisk. Family owned, and always the same kind lady who is there working the store. The flavors are unique, and if you like matcha, this is a great place. I don't stray away from the matcha, but that is a personal preference. read more

Peach classic tea - 4/5 Very delicious refreshing drink. A little too sweet for my taste, but letting the ice thaw diluted the tea and made it less sweet. Mango shave ice - 5/5 The ice is shaved just right. The mango flavoring is very good. Actually tastes close to mango. The plus to this dessert is there are chunks of fresh mango fruit in the syrup (see pic). An excellent refreshing choice. If the person isn't at the front, ring the bell for service. The lady who was solo, will prepare your dessert order relatively fast. The ambiance is simple, nothing fancy. Down to earth. I recommend coming here for a refreshing dessert. read more
The cutest independent bare-bones coffee shop run by the sweetest Japanese lady. We love visiting frequently because the friendly service and unique drink offerings can't be beat. Each drink is handmade with care by the shop owner herself, so patience may be required when there's a line of people. All of the high-quality ingredients are prepared in-house, from the sugar syrup to the strawberry jam. Our favorites: + Einspanner (Viennese coffee with whipped cream)- Like a tiramisu in liquid form, this indulgent coffee drink is good both hot and iced. It has a thick layer of sweetened whipped cream floating on top of strong espresso and near the bottom of the cup, you get a surprise hint of cocoa. I always ask for less sugar. If you love a strong coffee but want to feel special, this is a must-try. + Roasted rice matcha latte- So surprised to see that the matcha is freshly whipped with a bamboo whisk in front of you. The strong roasted rice flavor really comes through and is well-balanced with the slight bitterness of the matcha. When substituted with oat milk, this drink really hits the spot. +Matcha strawberry latte- Pretty to look at and tasty, this is the iconic summer drink. Made with homemade strawberry jam, freshly whisked high-quality matcha, and an oat milk substitution, this is better than the version found at Boba Guys. +Honeycomb latte- A one-of-a-kind drink that has bits of homemade honey toffee that give a crunchy, nutty flavor to the latte. +Kakigori (Japanese shaved ice)- the perfect refreshing dessert on a blistery summer day. A hidden gem in Dublin! Wow I can't believe I just found out about this place! This place is matcha heaven! There's a lot of different and unique matcha drinks on the menu. My boyfriend ordered the roasted rice matcha latte and I got the kamo latte. The cup size here is smaller than typical cafe so we got the drinks in medium. Kamo latte This is the perfect morning pick me up! I could taste the espresso and the matcha distinctively and the flavors didn't over power each other. There was a hint of sweetness. Roasted rice matcha latte The roasted rice matcha flavor was very aromatic. It was sweet and creamy. We got our drinks to-go but there was a few tables inside. There was no line when we ordered and we waited for about 5 min for our drinks. read more
Pleasanton does not have a lot of great milk tea options but kamurocho is different in which they specialize in authentic Japanese tea lattes as well as shaved ice. The shop is small, quite bland on interior design however, the quality is fantastic. The menu features a range of teas and lattes to choose from. Their hojicha latte is fabulous- creamy, just slightly sweet with a strong roasted tea flavor. Its perfect for a chilly morning. Prices are pretty standard for most tea places. The drinks are about $5-$6 each. The cup/packaging is plain and simple, not over the top which you can tell they really just care about the quality of the drink itself. If you are a tea lover and you like it just slightly sweet, check this place out. read more
Stopped by one of the few places open during Christmas. It's a mom and pop shop and it has seating inside. Strawberry matcha - the matcha was decent but the strawberry was very watery. It's not super sweet. Hong Kong milk tea - a solid HK milk tea. It's not too sweet. Mango latte - more of mango milk with small chunks of mango. It's not super sweet. Strawberry latte - because their strawberry marmalade was watery but tasted like there was a lot of added sugar. I wish it had a stronger strawberry taste instead of just sweetness. read more

I've always enjoyed every visit to Kamurocho over the years. This small local cafe serves amazing Kakigori (Japanese shaved ice) and a large menu of beverages from delicious fruit teas to a wide variety of espressos drinks and matcha. I usually order a fruit tea, often the strawberry one as it beats out all of the boba shops I frequent as well. The tea is made with fresh strawberries and is just the right amount of sweetness. The owner has often made a few special drinks and desserts for us, including various panna cotta and tiramisu and a lime flavored tea. The service is always friendly and the prices are quite affordable, especially for the quality. I highly recommend visiting here, especially for their shaved ice and fruit teas on a nice sunny day. read more

This is a super cute little mom and pop coffee shop. O came in for a hot coffee, but I see they have plenty of speciality drinks and shaved ice. Some of their speciality drinks like honeycomb latte probably taste better iced in order to preserve the crunchy bits of the honeycomb. I ordered the hot hojicha latte which was very good! read more

As a matcha connoisseur... this is not good matcha. Although they hand whisk this drink, whatever powder is being used is definitely not ceremonial grade. I got the roasted matcha rice latte and you can still taste the grains of whatever rice ingredient is being used. Another L for matcha in the tri valley smh. read more

Strawberry Matcha Latte Overall: 4/5 Matcha taste: 3/5 Strawberry taste: 5/5 Cost: $7.50 When I arrived at the store there were a few people waiting on their orders already. The owner works very quickly though and takes orders while making drinks. It's kind of a small place, if you know you know type of shop. This is my second time getting this drink after a few years since I last went. I'd prefer if there was more matcha since the flavor gets lost with the strawberry. The matcha isn't super strong, a little muted. I don't think it's ceremonial since the color isn't a deep green. On the other side, the strawberry is very fresh and sweet! All in all, it's refreshing and sweet, I'd get it again. read more

I came by on a rainy day since I was already in the area, and their unique drinks were the ones that really caught my eye. There was no one inside, so I was able to order immediately. There are quite a few options for different types of coffee + matcha drinks, but I ended up deciding on the Kamo latte. It came out beautifully presented, with the layers of matcha, milk, and coffee quite distinct. Once I mixed them together though, everything blended together nicely. The initial flavor was matcha, but the more I drank it the more I tasted the coffee flavor. I was actually quite surprised by how well the two balanced each other, and I definitely wasn't only tasting one thing. It was certainly a unique experience and I really enjoyed it. Service here was really friendly as well! It also seems like a good place to catch up with someone, or to just sit down and chill for a bit. read more

Finally got to try out Kamurocho after having it bookmarked for so long! It's in a small plaza but there's plenty of parking. The shop itself was also small with just a handful of tables. It looks like people mostly go for takeout so it didn't seem like the type of place that would get too crowded. I went for the honeycomb latte. It was a perfect balance of honey and coffee in that you could taste each distinct flavor and the best part - it wasn't too sweet. I also ordered a ham & cheese croissant, warmed up. It was a delicious pair to the coffee and was reasonably priced as well at only $3.50. The staff was super friendly and patient. It was only one woman running the show when I was there and she took care of everyone with ease. Will definitely be back to try out their other lattes when I'm in the area! read more
