This is such a solid spot for kakigori! I came here after lunch one day on a Monday afternoon and it was empty. It might have been after the lunch rush but I kid you not, the shaved ice was almost mind blowing! I had the mango kakigori and it was utterly delicious! It was very interesting because the mango syrup/sweetener, visibly did not cover every inch of the shaved ice, but every spoonful of the ice had the mango flavoring. Sometimes, at other shaved ice places there would be chunks of ice that wouldn't have any flavoring at all and it'd be a bland chunk of ice, but here that was not the case. Been to this Japanese cafe multiple times for their drinks and I can taste the authentic Japanese flavors in every sip. Their honeycomb latte and hojicha latte are definitely my favorites - rich, flavorful and comforting. On a recent visit during a hot summer day (105F), I decided to try their shaved ice and it did not disappoint. We ordered their kinako kakigori and unlike most places that serve shaved ice, this cafe layers the flavors throughout the shaved ice, not just on top. This means you get a consistent, delicious flavor with every bite, rather than bland ice towards the bottom. However, I have to deduct one star for the environment. It was extremely hot inside the cafe with no AC to provide relief. It felt like being transported back to Asia, which has its charm but can be uncomfortable on such a hot day. Despite this, I will definitely be coming back for their incredible drinks and kakigori - just maybe not on a super hot day. read more

It was actually quite stuffy as it was 90 degrees outside. We ordered our two shave ices and sat down. Each one was $13. I ordered the tiramisu and my wife ordered the mango. They are both very light, and upon initially tasting the tiramisu, it was good. As I ate further down into the shave ice, it began to lose its flavor. Basically the tiramisu flavoring was only on top. The mango one was different. The heavier syrup soaked into and through the ice. This allowed for the flavor to last through the entire dessert. I would recommend the shave ices that have syrup rather than powder on top. Seeing the good ratings, I went in without having much expectations and boy did I have regrets. I ordered the honeycomb latte and matcha rice latte with boba and the drinks were overly sweet and not good. The boba was overcooked and super mushy so that was disgusting. I got jipped because the lady kept selling me on the $6 beef patty saying how people don't come in for it, but once they get it, they love it. I have no idea why I was expecting a Japanese hamburg, instead I got the empanadas that you get from Costco. I also ordered the ham and cheese croissant and once I saw the empanadas, I knew it would be the freezer ham and cheese croissants sold at Costco and I was right. I felt like the lady lied to me and was quite disappointed to be ordering something that I could have gotten from Costco at a better price. She also tried to sell me on the mochi and egg sandwich(which was sitting out and not refrigerated). During my hour commute, I didn't even finish my drink or eat the ham and cheese croissant. There's usually only one person working, so it takes a while to get your stuff, but it's worth it if you have the time. was super excited to try this spot but was so disappointed. i ordered a jasmine milk tea and we went to the mall nearby. after having drank a couple sips of it, i noticed something floating in my drink. i genuinely thought maybe it could be a jasmine flower but it started looking more like a bug. to my surprise, it was indeed an ant. i was with four others who also got a drink and unfortunately, my sister's kamo matcha also had an ant floating. the drink itself wasn't that great, there was a hint of jasmine but overall it didn't taste strong enough for my liking. i didn't even finish the rest of my drink nor did my sister because of the ant. we don't even know if the other drinks had ants. won't be coming back unfortunately just with how unsanitary it was to experience that. read more

Consistently good kakigori, matcha, and coffee drinks, while maintaining polite service throughout in a quaint shop. The strawberry matcha latte included what was probably macerated strawberries, adding attention to detail compared to everywhere else. The roasted matcha rice latte with recommended oat milk substitute instead of regular milk was also a stellar option. Kinako kakigori had little mochi pieces in it as well. Small little shop near the junction of the 580 and 680, lies this green tea cafe that has taken my heart. From the looks not you wouldn't expect much, even when we got there, it wasn't too busy, that changed directly after we ordered. We needed our caffeine fix and were told to try this place out for their matcha. It did not disappoint. The little lady running the store was so sweet and very patient with my group was we were trying to decide our orders. All drinks made to order, nothing premade, maybe with the exception of their purées, but wow, delicious, earthy, and just satisfying drinks. I got the hojicha latte. It had the the right amount of roasted flavor and was not overpowering at all. Thoroughly enjoyed, and although unsweetened, it still gave for a nice afternoon treat. My partner got the strawberry matcha, the strawberry was great, chunks in stead of bits, in the puree, and it was honestly aesthetically pleasing once the matcha was added. My partner enjoyed and savored his drink as it was very tasty. We all got something different, my partner's cousin ordered a mango matcha, but I believe the server misheard and only brought out a mango milk, she was able to adjust and add matcha to float on top and it was still tasty. It's nice they have small (smaller than average) drink size and organic options, but it was okay. Felt very homemade. They put the honeycomb was homemade, but I couldn't taste the honey. It was good though, but I was expecting actual honey flavor. The small honeycomb latte is like size for a kid less than 8 or so. At least, I don't have to worry about not sleeping at night. I got the kids a strawberry milk to share, and she gave me a cup so I could split it myself for free at least. I didn't get to try it though. Ambiance is cool because it feels legit Japanese. Kamo latte: hint of espresso with a matcha base. not too sweet. matcha taste could have been a bit stronger, but still enjoyable. Honeycomb latte: tastes like a regular latte at first but when you get the honeycomb in your sip, it's so tasty! definitely a bit sweeter but the espresso taste helps balance it out.
