    Over promising - underperforming - overpriced My espresso machine (Bezzera) stopped heating. I came here to have it fixed. Steam wand and hot water outlet were also dripping a bit. They said I need to pay initially $169 for diagnostic/deposit, but this would be applied to repair cost if I choose to have it repaired. It would take about 3 days for initial diagnostic and 2 weeks to repair. Over a month later (36 days to be precise) I have my machine back. Communication was poor. The cost for diagnostics is $169. Nothing is applied to the cost of repair. The heating element cost $125 and the labor $169 for a total of $463.00 ($169+$169+$125) plus tax. They offered "cleaning" of my espresso machine for additional $295.75 labor and $37 parts for a total of $332.75 plus tax. Overall this would have cost over $800 and the dripping steam wand and hot water outlet haven't even been touched. I picked up my machine as soon as I could, and I will not return to this place!

He showed up when he said he would and communicated with me throughout. I am currently renting out my house and not residing there, so good communication was particularly important. He quickly diagnosed and repaired the dryer. The dishwasher was more complex. Again, he communicated with me on a regular basis. When it looked like the repairs would be expensive, he walked through the options with me and showed that a replacement would likely be the better choice, even though he would have made money off the repair. In the end, I did choose to replace it and Bo didn't charge me for the time he spent working on the dishwasher. I would definitely use Zuta again. Some of the qualities I liked about the experience was Bo's competence, honesty, reliability, good communication, and the quality of his work.

However, because…read moreit was just barely past 1 year of the shipping arrival date, it was not covered by the 1-year comprehensive warranty. After spending more than $1500 on this crappy microwave, I vowed not to use the Sharp repair program ($300-400) or any Sharp affiliated appliance repair companies. However, I could not find any replacement built-in microwaves of the same size. Through many months of phone calls and emails, I was finally able to receive the replacement part (magnetron) covered under the 5-year magnetron warranty. Labor was not included in this parts warranty. I called a few appliance repair companies. One said they do not service microwave. Then, I was able to schedule with Urban and Denis gave me a verbal quote over the phone ($275). I usually price compare, but I felt this was a pretty reasonable price so we scheduled for a site visit just a few days later. Marat came to do the repair and within 1 hour we had a working microwave again! So the moral of my story is that I'll never buy anything from Sharp again, but I will not hesitate to call Urban again for my appliance repair needs :)

He was punctual, knowledgeable, kind, and reasonably priced. An all-around win! Months later I had another problem (I moved the stove to paint a wall and knocked things out of place). I called Matthew who patiently walked me through the process of locating reset buttons and adjusting misaligned tubes, fixing my issue over the phone, right there and then. I was aggravated, for we have had the range serviced several times, yet every year or two, new gas leaks would appear. I was getting ready to give up on having a vintage range, for though I had been promised that it was built like a tank and would work forever with maintenance, I was tired of paying for nearly annual visits to address new fails, each time after wondering for a couple of weeks if I was imagining the gas smell before calling PGE to verify that yes, I am smelling gas. On this visit Matt came out to fully address the repeated fails, far more thoroughly than my previous experiences. He ensured that quality parts were utilized, that the knobs were rigged so that they wouldn't cause fails, and ingeniously weighted the oven door so that it will stay fully open or shut; previously springs had been upgraded, but after a few months the door would creep partially open, so that oven temp couldn't be maintained. The stovetop and oven work better than they ever have in our 13 years of living here - the knobs turn smoothly, the gas comes out more fully and cleanly, the oven holds temperature, and best of all, no more gas leaks, and I believe that this time the repairs will hold, since Matt was so thorough. Matt said that he will stand by his work and ensure that this range continues to operate safely, which I appreciate, since I realized that at this time I'd really rather not have to re-wire the kitchen to accommodate an induction range.

Contacted Thermador and they came twice for repair, however it's unrepairable and in order to exchange, I must provide a receipt. When I asked Soufinane for a receipt, he said the his receipt not work for exchange, of course he won't tell you this before purchase. And he didn't provide another HELP for selling defective products, pushing you to the Manufacturer was the only thing he did for me. ---UPDATE---: Re Soufiane C.: "It is important to hire the right contractor to install the unit and not someone, who will break it in the process and blames it on the unit or the tools." The contractor installed the unit is a CA licensed contractor, and Thermador's technician came twice for the repairing, and told me it's unrepairable even they replaced a brand new board. It's definitely a defectives. From above comment from the business owner, you would find he would use all kinds of excuses to "prove" he has absolutely no business with the defectives he sold. He never provide me a store receipt for the sale, and claimed he is a craigslist seller and sold things as-is. (hmm, why you have a physical store in Oakland, should you obey the local retail laws to provide a receipt at least)?

I had contacted 3 other…read morecompanies to service my Viking range that were quick to respond "we don't service your area" or "we charge a diagnostic fee that doesn't go towards the service/repair"...etc Vissal from Top Tier Appliance Repair quickly responded via text, provided his number and said to call to call him (at my convenience) to better understand the issue. Other companies didn't even bother asking. Basically, the oven temperature no longer consistent and fluctuates 50 degrees. This started after I was cleaning and my drip tray got caught on some wiring. After a 10-minute consultation, Vissal asked for the model number and once found, could set up the appointment. The next day I realized that even though I've had my Viking range 15 years (no longer under warranty) that it would be best to contact an Authorized Viking Repair company - I was referred to a company in San Jose. I texted Vissal that I was going another route and he quickly responded no problem. Friendly and professional customer service and thanks to Vissal for taking the time to work with me!
