Excellent work and excellent communication. My La Pavoni hadn't been serviced ever. I've had it over ten years. Yossi replaced all the seals and gaskets and whatever else needs replacing and also tightened up my tank which had gotten loose. Even more miraculously, he made the handle to pull an espresso super easy to lift up which had NEVER been the case. Since I've had the machine, I've had to hold it down with one hand while lifting the lever up with the other. Not anymore. Now I can just lift the lever and the espresso comes out. It's great! Not sure how he fixed that but I sure appreciate it! It took a few weeks to get the work done but it looks like that it true for everyone doing these kinds of repairs. And he focused on home espresso machines so I didn't have to worry that he'd never get to mine due to some commercial espresso machine disasters taking priority. I think he had it about 4 weeks. Not cheap to get the work done but the work was excellent and seems reasonable for what he did. I hope it will go another 10 years without needing servicing! He did say I should bring it in every 3 years or so - we'll see if I do. Either way, I'm glad to have found this guy. Before review of our Achille Gaggia machine Yossi advised he should be able to see what's going on with our no heat issue and review further to see if there was a small issue which he adjusted. Yossi took the time to advise that while parts are a big variable and may lead to more costly repairs, he did a small tune up and charged a fair price. He let us know our machine while working may be due for an upgrade later down the line. He offered some helpful solutions and we have our machine back working. My 6 year old Zacconi Espresso Baby lever machine purchased from Christopher at Thomas Cara in SF (no more) developed a leak from the group head when the lever was down and could not build pressure. Reached out to Yossi via email and received an immediate response and coordinated drop off at his Richmond shop. Quote was for $321 for: Service Complete tune up: Take machine apart, remove group head assembly, Remove steam valve, and deep clean. Replace group head gasket kit + steam valve gaskets and install everything back and test for leaks. Parts New OEM group gasket kit Parts New OEM steam valve gasket kit Approved and turn around time for repair was ~2 weeks. Got lucky since he had had another Zacconi in and had ordered multiple parts so didn't have to wait the ~6 weeks for parts from Italy. Communication throughout the whole repair was excellent and Yossi was flexible on pickup accommodating a weekend pick-up. My "Baby" is restored to its amazing self. Found Yossi via yelp and was excited he was so close to me. Talked to him on the phone for 5 minutes about my machine (very old saeco italia) and the issue I thought it was, he confirmed it was probably that, but also said it could be a few other things in addition and would be happy to take a look. My machine is from 2003 and I'm not quite ready to part ways with it! I brought an extra (new) pump for Yossi as I thought it was the issue, he installed it for me in just a few days also also cleared the clog in the brew unit, fixed a leak, and cleaned the parts! Echoing other positive reviews with my own recent experience-- I brought my 12+ year old Nuova Simonelli Oscar espresso machine and Rancilio Rocky grinder to Yossi at OZ about a week ago. The grinder was not able to grind beans at all, and the espresso machine was working but not very well. He was able to diagnose the issues for both machines, clearly communicate the proposed fixes, and make the repairs for a reasonable price (and in a reasonable amount of time). Now both machines are back at home and working as well if not better than they did when I bought them new years ago. But what made the experience exceptional is once the machine was diagnosed I called and spoke to Yossi, he was very knowledgeable about how to repair and also helped weigh out the cost of fixing versus buying a new one. Sadly we agreed our Saeco 'gran barista' was not worth a costly repair after Yossi diagnosed a faulty motherboard. Our Rocket Appartamento was having a sporadic over pressure situation that caused quite a concern. I called Seattle Coffee (where we purchased the machine) and they immediately recommended Yossi at Oz Espresso. I also contacted Rocket directly and they also recommended him. What a great guy! He was very knowledgeable and knew immediately what the potential problem was likely to be. The pressure stat component was replaced as well as the group head screen and gasket, the vacuum valve, and the safety valve. He fully serviced the machine and sent me video and pictures to explain the issues. When I picked up the machine, he spent the time to explain what he had done, how to do a little maintenance myself and answered my endless questions. Took my 20+ year old Pavoni Europiccola there to tune it up after it stopped producing much espresso and to replace the rusted enameled base with a chrome one, got it back yesterday and works like new! Yossi discovered the plastic piston was cracked and replaced it with a brass one, changed all the gaskets and cleaned everything till it was sparkling. Yossi is very responsive to email or phone, and I recognized in him someone like me who not only appreciated these classic machines for their function but for the aesthetic of their engineering.
