We really enjoyed our brief visit to Kaniksu brewing while we were driving from Oregon to Montana. The owner/brewer was very knowledgeable and welcoming. His 4 regulars at the bar were as well. The establishment is dog friendly and they all loved on our corgi Gracie. The beers in our flight of 5 were all great. The Roggenbeer(rye) was very interesting and lovely(I make a rye as a home brewer.) The amber was exceptional(we discussed this one at length.) They also allow outside food, sell snacks, and have reasonable prices. I am really looking forward to visiting again. read more

Very knowledgeable and if he doesn't have it can usually order for you. Runs the store out of his basement so if someone else is there it's crowded. Had to wait 10 minutes out in my vehicle while he finished up with other customers. Not a big deal I got what I came for. read more

Let me preface this by stating I first called a 'legendary' brewing supply store in Spokane, asking a rookie question, because it's been decades since I've done some hobby brewing. I was met with quite the exasperated, condescending attitude/response. So I called these guys, and they could not have been more friendly and helpful. Yes, Cheney isn't a short jaunt to Post Falls, but we were itching to actually dine in a resto, so shopping here was a collateral bonus. And, they're really not far across our draconian state line. I'll also say that prices in brew making supply stores are all about the same, so I didn't make the drive for 'amazing' bargains. But for as much as we visit the Cd'A area, these guys will be go-to for my zymurgy. You really only visit a place like this every few months for supplies, and these nice folks now have a regular customer. Skoal...! read more

Kris, his family, and all the patrons we've chatted with there are always a good visit when my Hubby gets his grain for his beer hobby. I don't do the brewing, but I have seen the whole process and I like the finished product with tomato juice. It's fresher than good wine. We enjoy running over to Idaho, and this place is on the way there, and back, wherever you are headed driving on I-90 by state line. You know my guy is going to make sure we stop whenever we're near. I like that it's conveniently right off the highway. read more

Thats nonsense, the grain selection is impressive as well as the hop and yeast supply...They also have bulk DME in 3 types, liquid LME in 3 types and anything else you've ever wanted to add into a tasty brew. We moved to the "boonies" in Northwest MT in March. So Civilization (by choice) is 105-116 miles in either direction (Kallispell,MT- Post Falls, ID). I'm a true amateur in brewing and wine making; that didn't matter to these People. I explained what I wanted to do, they told me what I needed and "schooled" me up on how to do it. Including going back on his lap top to give me exact measurements of ingredients for my project. You just don't see customer service on a level like that anymore. These folks know their stuff and aren't afraid to share it. After my purchase I was told to take a card and if I had any questions on my project just drop a dime and they'd be happy to help. I don't go anywhere else for my home brewing needs. Levi is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. Great selection of Grain, Hops and Adjuncts. The yeast selection is good, you should be able to find something close to what you are looking for if he doesn't have the exact strain. Went in to get a complete set up for making wine. Left $145 poorer only to have to revisit the store then go to a different one. The owner apparently doesn't know what it takes to make wine from whole fruit, only from their juice kits. Customer service is terrible. When we went back to get the rest of the ingredients that the owner should have recommended to me to begin with, the lady was extremely rude and condescending. Why, yes, we're just beginning. But no, we aren't stupid. Don't waste your time here. Go to the Make Wine Make Beer store in Coeur d'Alene. read more
