Staff was friendly and helpful. Great for a cold day I got the spicy tuna and ramen.

Terrible kanji ramen with soy sauce I added to make it palatable

Ordered take out and were offered a $10 shrimp tempura add on so I said yes. Three sad pieces of tempura arrived. Worse, the ramen broth was not like any other ramen I've ever had. Tasted like miso soup - something that is great when given as a small appetizer but I certainly didn't order miso soup as an entree - I ordered pork based ramen. Had to add some soy sauce so I could choke it down but overall beyond disappointed.

Came in on a weekday night and we were the only customers, but I actually really enjoyed the ramen. I got the Kanji signature and added extra chashu and veggies which I felt were very inexpensive to add on. The ramen felt like a rather big portion and I enjoyed that the broth wasn't as salty as other places. The inside is pretty cute though the restaurant is located in a rather quiet complex. The food took a while to come out despite us being the only customers but the service was friendly. I would definitely come back here for a casual ramen night.

I wanted a nice, hot bowl of ramen for dinner. I read the reviews and it sounded nice. It is a bit of a haul from Round Rock. Is it worth the drive? Maybe if you ran out of ramen places and wanted something new. Making the drive for the sake of ramen, you may leave a little disappointed. All the ingredients are good. It just didn't feel like everything together amounted to more than your average ramen. A little bland for my taste. Plus, it had a bit of an aftertaste. It took me a bit to get used to this. The restaurant is nice. Light music plays that you will know. It wasn't busy, which made it very relaxing. Parking wasn't too bad. There were quite a few cars around 6pm but there was still some parking.

Small little ramen shop off of HWY 183. Overall the restaurant has decent amount of table to sit at and the vibe is okay (little dark and cozy feel) There are menus near the door when you enter and you order at the counter when you are ready. If it isn't busy the cashier will let you pick your table and you just come up when you are ready to order. Ordered the Kanji Ramen Signature Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen. Right off the bat, I noticed the egg was over cooked already. I ate the Kanji Ramen and the broth was okay not too salty which was great. The bamboo on the other hand tasted like it just came out of the can raw and had that can taste still. The chashu was tender had some flavor to it.

IMHO, this place has delicious ramen that's as good as (or better) than the other fancy shmancy ramen places around the city. Compared to the other hip places, this is almost "divey" and feels like a "mom and pop" place. We ordered different bowls of ramen, and were all happy with our orders. Aside from the spicy bowls we ordered that could have been a little spicier (not pictured), all the broths had deep rich flavor. The pork was delicious and tender. The noodles were the perfect texture. All the added ingredients were great.

A group of friends and I decided to meet here for lunch. This is a small little ramen shop located inside a plaza area with plenty of parking. The food was perfect and portions were generous. Lots of items on the menu looked great, from several different types of ramen, starters and small dishes, as well as sushi rolls. I got the Little Kanji since I knew that ramen is pretty filling. The kid's ramen included pork bone soup with soy sauce based seasoning chashu, wood ear mushroom, ajitama egg corn, nori. It was delicious! They are closed on Mondays and hours are 11am to 8pm Tuesday-Sunday.

Not sure if the quality of this place has deteriorated but I had a bad experience with food ! It was a total mood off ! We decided to have ramen in this cold austin weather and after seeing so excellent review me and husband went here to dine in . Worst experience when it comes to food! Ordered a veggie ramen and spicy veggie ramen along with crispy tofu ! Just the tofu was Ok but the ramen was a mere disappointment!! My veggie ramen hardly had any veggie of any flavor .. basically the bowl was filled with salt water with loads of noodles ! Nothing else ! Paid almost $50 for 2 ramen and a side which was just bowl of salt. Water with noodles one spicy and one not ! Super expensive and no quality ! Will not go back here !

Their signature bowl, before I added the broth. It smelled so freaking good.

I've decided to branch out from Tatsuya when it comes to ramen in Austin, and I'm so glad I tried this place. I got the signature kanji ramen to go. When I took the lid off the container the smell was *incredible.* I tried the both on its own before I added it to the bowl, and my instant reaction was "Damn!" And the two together? Heaven. I practically inhaled the whole thing, it was SO GOOD. If this and Tatsuya's OG got into a knife fight, I think Kanji's bowl would be the winner. I'm already trying to convince myself that getting ramen two days in a row would be terribly decadent, which is why I shouldn't go back for more tomorrow. You, however, should ABSOLUTELY go. It's worth it!

My child and I came here on a whim because we were nearby and had a craving for ramen. The service itself was slow, but that is fine because they were very kind. The food was what we came for anyway. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the broth was seasoned really well. If we are back in the area, we'd definitely go back.

One of the best ramen places in Austin. Staff are really nice and the ramen tasted like home (Sydney, Australia where there's 1000 ramen places). Definitely my go to place for ramen

I'd say it's average. I got the veggie ramen and it was ok, not too flavorful. I don't think I'd go back here.

From the very first sip of that rich, creamy broth, I knew this place was something special. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the pork was tender and flavorful, and every bite felt like comfort in a bowl. Honestly, it's the best ramen I've ever had--and it's not even close. What really sets this place apart is the customer service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and truly make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The vibe is awesome--lively, clean, and the kind of place you want to sit, relax, and enjoy every minute of your meal. And whatever you do, don't pass up the Spicy Wings. They are sweet, spicy, and perfectly crispy--cooked just right with that satisfying crunch in every bite. Absolutely delicious and the perfect complement to an already amazing meal. Top-notch service, incredible food, and an unbeatable atmosphere--this place is a must-visit.

My first time wasn't too memorable and the second time I got the ultra spicy veggie ramen and it was so spicy I cried (which is good haha i have very high spice tolerance so I'm glad I found a spot that can do truly spicy). This time, I got the deluxe Chicken Paitan DX Ramen (the one that comes with the chicken leg). Chicken Paitan DX Ramen: A sweet soy glazed chicken leg is served on a hot sizzling plate with a small bed of bean sprouts marinating in the sauce. The sauce is a sticky, sweet soy sauce that is so delicious. The chicken leg itself is tender, juicy, and has a great skin texture. The skin soaks up the sauce so well and even has some nice charred bits that add to the flavor and complexity of the dish. The ramen itself was great too. A creamy rich chicken broth. I got the spicy level, so one level under the top spice level and it was perfect. Not unbearably spicy, but had a really nice underlying kick. The noodles are a thin yet snappy noodle so it made it easy to eat. I love the corn and mushroom spirals too! Overall, if you come based on this review, make sure to get the chicken paitan dx ramen. There are only 15 served in a day but ask them if they have it because I was able to get one on a Monday night at around 8PM! It's a nice space, good for a date or even a casual hangout. They have tables to accomodate parties of 1, 2, 4, and possibly 6.

Somehow, against all odds, Ramen Del Barrio still exceeds its reputation. There's only one vegan ramen option but it's all you need, both in terms of portion size and flavor. I've never had anything quite like the mole tsukemen, a Tex-Mex mashup pairing rich mole broth served separately from handmade noodles so thick, you might mistake them for udon at a glance. Simple toppings of fried tortilla strips, avocado, charred jalapeno, and caramelized onions adorn the top. Before this moment, I thought I just wasn't a fan of mole. It turns out, I had never tried great mole before. This stuff dazzles with layered spices, melded so well that I can't pick a single one out from the pack. It's not overwhelmingly hot, but definitely leaves your lips tingling. I'm glad I finally got there before they close up shop at their current location in Hana World Market on December 21st, and even happier to know that their new brick-and-mortar isn't too far behind. I'll be there as soon as the doors open!

Apr 8, 2026 review:…read more I've been at Nori two times in person and recently tried their to-go order. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. I would say this is the best vegetarian sushi place I've found in Austin. So if you're in search, this wouldn't disappoint you.
