Worst Valentine's Day experience I've ever had with my wife. It took over an hour for them to serve her food, by the time it arrived, I was done with my food. The steak was dry and tasteless, I make better steaks at home. The waitress didn't care and the manager didn't want to give a discount for the inconvenience. I came in on Sunday at 4pm. I sat at the outdoor bar and I think I was the only person there. It was very peaceful honestly. I ordered miso soup which was very refreshing and perfect appetizer (for me) for $5. I then ordered the Bulgogi for $28. The meat was very flavorful and the onions were perfectly caramelized, the rice was plain which is typical for Japanese restaurants. I wish the rice was a little fluffier but it's ok. Since opening again, this has become my favorite local spot!! The decor is great, and they have plenty of seating. They are also dog friendly. The staff is friendly and the food typically comes out pretty quick. The best appetizers in my opinion are the bang bang shrimp and the lobster and crab Rangoon. Their hibachi fried rice is one of the best I have had (make sure you ask for yum yum sauce), and their sushi is always fresh and really tasty. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Excited to be back since Kanpai's reopening! I definitely had a way better experience this time around compared to before. Everyone from the hostess to the wait staff was attentive and friendly! If you're craving a cocktail, I recommend the Lychee Martini and/or the Mojito! It was amazingggg. Appetizers - the miso soup was delicious! Both the gyoza and spring rolls were great and I'd definitely get them again. For sushi roll, I was indecisive so I played it safe with the JB Roll. It was really good, but a small portion. I'd either make them bigger rolls or add more than just 8. All in all, very happy to see Kanpai back and I'm sure we'll return soon :) read more

Normally I love coming to kanpai, unfortunately I didn't have the best experience when I went on saturday night. It was a beautiful saturday the sunset was super pretty and we were sat right away by the nice host. Me and my family were not greeted for over 10 minutes when we sat down. We were also not checked in upon our meal. The food was delicious we got the galbi, shrimp fried rice and korean fried chicken. However my strawberry margarita was disappointing and if our server did come to check on us I would've asked for something else. Ok, so I'll begin with reservations. I booked online for 4 people at the BBQ Table because that was something we were looking forward to. Once we got there, everyone was so nice and our waitress was amazing! Once we went to order, we asked what we can bbq and our waitress said that the bbq grill will begin to work in about 2 weeks. Obviously, we were upset because they didn't state that anywhere across their social media platforms. So we just ordered some drink and bites. The Lychee Martini was delicious! We got 2 different kinds of edamame, they were both very bland. The spring rolls and Waygu Gyoza was very good! We also had miso soup which was very tasty. Then, I got the 911 Roll, and it was ok. I really enjoy coming here for the "boat sushi bar". Towards the back of the restaurant, you will find this area, where you can sit after checking in with the hostess. Before COVID this was very popular and sometimes hard to get a spot. During the pandemic, they had to close this feature fore safety reasons, and now, they are back running the boats, with plastic covers over every dish, making it safe again to enjoy the sushi boats. During regular hours they have dishes for $3 - $7, each categorized by color. During Happy Hour these same dishes go down $1 - $2, and drinks are at special price too. It's so much fun seeing the dishes go by and picking the ones you already know you like and trying new ones. At the bar you can also see the sushi chefs making different rolls, for the river or for table orders. Plus you get to see the ingredients they use, fresh. I usually start with one of their signature drinks, my favorites: Green Tea Mojito and the Shisu Naughty. Both have the refreshing taste of the mint and fruity flavors. Once that has been ordered it's time to pick some boat dishes. Edamame is always a must for me. And when they have the seaweed salad I get that too. These are the cheaper dishes. Bang Bang Shrimp is always good and love the kick. Think this is a $5 dish. Sushi you will find a good assortment... tempura, shrimp, tuna, salmon, crab. You can find some pan fried dumplings and spring rolls. And, of course, they also have sashimi which are always the $7 dishes and includes 5 - 6 slices. Again, always fresh. While you are at the bar you can also order from the regular menu, where they have a great variety of dishes to pick from. The Kanpai of old is long gone. As a former regular who would eat here twice a week I am so sad and disappointed to say that what I used to love and hold so dear is gone. This was my first time back since the re-opening. The menu shrunk, the prices got substantially more expensive, the sushi bar boats are gone. The dish I posted was $28 which wouldn't be a problem if it were an expertly crafted dish. But it looked like it was out of a frozen bag of stirfry from the freezer aisle of the grocery store. There is no presentation, it was just slapped on to the plate. The three dishes we ordered were all brought out at three separate times which made it awkward to eat with our party. Always sucks to have hot food come out while someone else is waiting for another dish, making you wait and having your hot food cool off. We sat in the Korean barbecue section which we had to swap three different chairs, because all three chairs felt like the screws were loose and the chairs wobbled. This review may seem harsh, but unfortunately, it's just the truth. For the prices on the menu, I can't say I'm going back. read more

I have been to this location a few times and I have always been impressed. The sushi is always fresh and the staff always friendly. I went last night because my son had a great report card and this was his choice for dinner (mainly because he gets to see "cool cars" in Boca lol). Normally we sit at the sushi boat bar but due to COVID we opted for outside seating. Upon arrival our temperatures were taken and then we were taken to our seats. Everything seemed to be cleaned but we still had our own sanitizing wipes and gave our areas another wipe down. The server came and took our drink orders and we scanned the QR code for the online menu (much cleaner option). Once we were ready to order our orders were taken. I had some hot saki my mom had a martini and my husband a margarita all were made great but the margarita was really good. We ended up ordering more. Once the food arrived everyone was very satisfied. Great portions and everything was yummy! Since we ordered a lot of apps, tapas and entrees the server was sure to come clear off the things we were done with so we didn't have to fight for space at the table. First time trying a tempura roll which was their Lava Drop and it was delicious and the Bad and Boujie. I plan to visit more often. The lighting was nice and dim and it was not too crowded which I love in a restaurant. I had the Lychee Dragonberry cocktail and I LOVED it!
