    Red curry with pork
    Jingyan Y.

A new Thai place in town that opened just 4 months ago! The owner has had decades of experience in Thai cuisine and has decided to make his own restaurant. The owner is friendly and the food is outstanding! I had the red curry, green curry, and the veggie spring rolls which I added pork to. The curries were very flavorful and the portion was large, especially given the very fair price (~$13). You can eat inside the food hall or take it to go. There is a parking lot right next door. 10/10 would recommend!

What a great little surprise! Stopped into Zaep Zaep Thai after getting a card on my door. Didn't even know it was there. It's at the front of the food hall at 216 Oak St in Roanoke. Yay, the owner, was super welcoming and friendly. I got the red curry which was delicious with a lot of fresh crispy vegetables and a great portion of chicken. Everything tasted super fresh and he cooks all the dishes without MSG. Since I was a first time customer he let me sample the egg rolls, which I have to say are some of the best I've had anywhere. I would go back just for those! It's not a fancy place by any stretch. As I said it's in a food hall, but there's plenty of places to sit inside or outside. Yay is from Laos and will be adding Spicy Lao sausage to the menu, which I can't wait for. I'll definitely be going back to try some different dishes very soon and recommend you check them out too!

Should've done a side-by-side, but it was only me. Lol. The fish was exquisite. The heat was also good. This dish pairs really well with rice; I also enjoy taking the leftovers home, letting them sit overnight in the fridge, and enjoying with more rice. Mmm! But I am from out of town and was alone, so I ate it all there. They don't have WiFi, but there was some "guest Frontier" WiFi that was good for an hour. (And you can refresh it each hour.) Next time, I would try the "Szechuan Boiled Fish." Or if that's too much, the Mapo Tofu. The radio was playing like Christian soul; new to me, but as a Christian, I didn't mind. =) Oh, and in the pic I have my Kefir from Trader Joe's. I wanted something dairy to counter the heat, if needed. Mmm.

Tried Noodle Works for the first time, after hearing about it on social media. I placed an online…read moreorder for the two chicken egg rolls, Spicy chili wontons, general Tso chicken and an order of fried rice flat noodles. All the food was on the expensive side, but I heard it was good, so I didn't mine. One of the first thing I noticed was the entrees do not come with rice. There is a $1 up charge for white rice and $3 for fried rice, $5 for noodles. I have never experienced a Chinese restaurant that charged for white rice with an entree (not even PF Chang). I arrived 10 minutes after the time I was told my food would be ready. I checked in at the register and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I was told to have a seat and wait. Since there is no place to sit when waiting for a take out order, I sat down in the closet booth next to the register. After about 1 minute, a very rude lady came over in broken English and screamed that I could not sit there. I told her I was waiting on a to-go order and she just kept screaming "you don't can sit there", so I got up and stood by the front door. If my food had not already been paid for, I would have left after that rude encounter. The ambiance of the restaurant is very strange as they had a boombox loudly playing 80s music. It was so load, I felt bad for the customers who were eating at there. No way you could enjoy siting there listening to the annoying loud music while you ate. About 5 minutes later (15 minutes past the time they originally told me it would be ready) my food was ready. The food did come out very hot. I retrieved my food and took it home to enjoy. Overall the food is very basic and not worth the elevated price. The egg rolls were over fried and greasy. The spicy wonton were very bland and not spicy at all. The general Tso chicken was not good. Very small pieces of chicken, over breaded and a bland sauce. Again not spicy at all. The fried flat rice noodles were the biggest disappointment. Mushy noodles that were all stuck together. Not good at all. Overall the Noodle Works was a big disappointment. There are so many better option in the area (Dragon House or the Wok). Do yourself a favor and skip the rude staff Noodle Works.

I understand presentation matters, but for that price, the amount of food we received was honestly unacceptable. The photo speaks for itself compared to my hand. What makes this even more frustrating is that I've seen other reviews from this restaurant, and those portions looked completely normal -- so this felt especially misleading. With a one-year-old at home, dining out isn't always realistic, so I was really hoping this would become a convenient local option for us, especially since it's so close. That honestly makes it even more disappointing. I wanted to support a nearby restaurant, but unfortunately I won't be ordering again -- and I definitely won't be recommending it to anyone I know. There are simply much better sushi options at this price point. EDIT** We gave them the chance to make it right, and they chose not to. At that point, the tiny portions weren't even the worst part -- the complete lack of customer service was.

We live nearby and wanted to try this place after we saw the positive YELP reviews. Once again,…read moreYELP for the win!! We started with the Arancini, a deep-fried ball of rice, pesto and mozzarella; rolled in bread crumbs. Never had anything like it before. It's amazing. Their tomato sauce is so fresh and salted perfectly. For your entrees, you "build your own"....choose your pasta, the sauce and the protein. My wife had the penne pasta, tomato sauce and meatballs. Very good. I chose the lobster ravioli with vodka sauce. Excellent. The bread is also terrific. Prices are fair. Service very attentive. It is a very minimalist dining room, boardering on spartan, but who cares, you can't eat ambience. We will definitely be back. Want to try their margherita pizza. Also saw another diner's entree of pasta with pesto sauce. This place lived up to its stellar YELP score!!

Pastaza in Trophy Club keeps things simple, and that choice pays off…read more The menu sticks to Italian basics. Nothing feels padded or overworked. What lands on the table tastes careful and confident, like a kitchen that knows when to stop. Sauces feel balanced. Pasta comes out cooked right, not rushed and not tired. Portions make sense. The dining room is clean every time I visit. That sounds minor, but it sets the tone. You trust the food before the first bite. Even the cheese pizza makes the case for the place. It looks plain. Then you taste it. The crust has structure without going stiff. The cheese melts evenly and carries real flavor, not just salt. It is the kind of pizza you keep eating without thinking about it, then notice the plate is empty. Pastaza does not chase trends. It focuses on doing familiar food well. That guardrail is likely why it works.

Foster's Sushi used to be our go-to sushi spot for years…read more My husband and I were always there on New Year's Eve--it was one of those traditions, and it was a place we truly loved. So this review honestly makes me a little sad to write. We went recently, and I've since been told they may be under new management. I'm not sure exactly what's changed, but unfortunately, the food just wasn't the same. The sushi didn't hit like it used to at all. The flavors, quality, and overall experience felt very different from what we remembered. My son ordered the chicken teriyaki and said it was good, but even he noticed that it tasted different than before. Whether it's a menu change, ingredient sourcing, or something else, I'm not sure--but the consistency we loved just wasn't there. This place was genuinely a favorite of ours, which makes this disappointing. Sadly, based on our most recent visit, it's probably not somewhere we'll return to.

We ordered the Ahi Tuna Tower, Spider Roll .. and the Chicken Karakke kids meal. The food was not as good as it was in the past and left me dissatisfied. But what is really weighing the rating down is that I walked into the shop and for 5-8 mins, with only 2 tables and a couple at the bar, 3 workers, 2 chefs, 1 bartender.. not a single person acknowledged me. No one said hi, no one said they would be with me in a minute.. all 3 of the workers looked my way but no one greeted me at all. When my husband and kids walked in they got greeted. How rude. Like how do you let someone stand at your hostess stand for 8 minutes and not acknowledge them at all?!?! They were not remotely busy.. there were extra people acting like they were working but I am a customer standing waiting for service. Needless to say, we gave you a try Foster's and you stunk in it. We were frequenters of Fosters under previous management but we will not visit again.
