I watched the waiter touch every leaf of my salad with his dirty gloves that he never changed not once during my lunch break. I watched him switch between the same dirty gloves and some flimsy clear plastic gloves for cleaning but never changing the blue gloves. He stood in the doorway where the salad bin is stored digging through the pile of leaves and tossing out bad leaves before selecting the good ones with his DIRTY GLOVES! When i first approached the restaurant I had to call out for someone to notice me. The sushi chef and another employee was intentionally avoiding looking in my direction. I waved my hands at the sushi chef and the another worker who proceeded to completely ignore me until i yelled out for service. The waiter was nice and welcoming. So i ordered the chicken katsu but the skin wasn't cooked crispy, it was soft and chewy and the meat tasted boiled. The atmosphere is beautiful but the quality of food is disgusting! Don't recommend!!! I came here because of the seemingly high reviews. My experience of dining here told me the reviews are not reliable at all. I ordered one lion king and one dragon roll. The lion king tastes like a soggy rice bowl with garlic, the tempura in the dragon roll is soggy too. That's not restaurant level food and doesn't worth the price. The waitress only come and fill water when you wave at them. And she was chewing food while pouring tea for us at the table. It totally doesn't make sense to charge 18% service fee when it is operating very unprofessionally. read more

Just dropped by for a quick lunch. We ordered the salmon skin salad, unagi fried rice, salmon sashimi, and miso soup. I'll give it to them, the unagi fried rice was really good, the flavor was there and it wasn't too salty. The sashimi portions were also good for the price, but I guess that's where the quality is sacrificed. The salmon wasn't very fresh and it tasted a bit funny. The miso soup had mushrooms in it, which I've never seen before, but that's not a complaint by any means. However, the salmon skin salad was extremely salty and sour. It was drenched in dressing and was basically a soupy mess. I'll attach a picture of the dressing in the bowl after we finished eating it. The salmon skin wasn't crunchy at all since it was soaking in the liquid. We've had good Japanese before, and this one doesn't meet the standards. I wouldn't come back. read more

I asked about ordering one of their donburi bowls and the waitress had no idea what the word meant, even after showing her the printed menu. So no Japanese spoken by Asian owners of a J-restaurant. The chicken donburi turned out to be similar to the chicken with gravy rice bowl from the Hong Kong cafe next door. It was actually good, so no harm I guess, but not authentic Japanese recipe. Fish is fresh. The quality of food is not very stable. I ordered sweet shrimp 3 times. Every time, it's different size of shrimp and different amount. First time I ordered sweet shrimp sashimi small. It came 4 good size shrimps. Second time I ordered large size, it came 6 tiny tiny shrimps. So disappointed. So I give it a try there's time, it came in only 3 shrimps with small order. There was another lady at the register, I proceeded to tell her that my food was behind her, she cut me off abruptly multiple times, said that it is not mine and treated me like I was lying eventually taking a phone call leaving me waiting. I found the lady who bagged my food and asked her to help, she then realized that it was my food and told the lady at the register. The lady whispered to her to make sure that I pay. Every time I ordered, I placed the order 1-1.5 hr ahead of time and when I got to the restaurant to pick up, I still had to stand there for a good 20min before one of three server acknowledged me. And 5 out of 6 times, they'd tell me the food wasn't ready but it was just sitting at the counter. My last straw was today when they actually did not pack my sashimi order... i got home and found out, called the restaurant and the lady told me "yeah it's here on the counter." No apology. Did not offer a refund until I asked them to. My order was sittinf at the counter in a stapled bag so i was surprised when she unapologetically told me "yeah it's here." This place had bad service and bad food. I could tell the waitress didn't give a fuq about her job and was there to do the bare minimum to get money. She was not kind, very much dgaf and barely knew the menu items lololol. The food was not good and very low quality. The food also gave me stomach issues and a headache that is lasting 16+ hours and only getting worse. I feel physically ill. The meat from sukiyaki was inedible. The o toro tasted low quality and maybe previously frozen. Anyone who thinks this place is good hasn't had actual sushi nor actual good food and no offense but has low standards in what good food is. I got the white tiger roll, tempura appetizer, and the lion king roll! Placed an order online like I've done many times before (occasional issues here and there but nothing like this time...) Go to pick up and first it takes 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. When the server goes to look at my order she says she can't find it.... this is after almost an hour since I first arrived. Now we're waiting for someone else to come review because she says she can't even find an order to refund me. Another 30 minutes and finally someone arrives. By this point I've already called grubhub and they confirm the restaurant received the order, but are working to cancel because of how long I've waited. By the time the new person looks at my order, I've already gotten grub hubs confirmation of cancelation. The end result is a 90 minute wait that leaves me with no food and a $5 grub hub voucher for the inconvenience. Can't really recommend coming here when so much competition is around....
