    Icli Kofte, inside
    Adam B.

A newcomer in a cozy little space. The menu has the typical dips and kebabs, but also has a lot of other options that are harder to find here. One gripe is that they seem a little stingy with their pitas. Spicy Ezme: Kinda like a plate of a salsa, that's a bit thicker. Really fresh tasting. Perfect on the pita, which seemed fresh too since it was spongy in the middle (not dry like those store bought pitas). Only issue is that there wasn't enough pita for all the dip. I was never offered more pita, even though I had half the dip left on my plate. Icli Kofte: A much better appetizer. The outside shell was hearty and crispy. The inside was filled with warm spiced meat. And best of all, it was on a bed of thick tangy yogurt. Kinda filling, so you might have leftovers of your main if you get this. Manti: Love these little bundles of comfort. Like micro beef tortellini. The thick bed of tangy yogurt it's resting on is a perfect sauce. So creamy! Reminds me a bit of the pelmeni. And the drizzle of spices added a nice kick. Mixed Grill Plate: This is a really great way to get a lot of different tastes in one dish. It's big, but it's not so big that a hungry guy like myself couldn't finish it for lunch. The kofta kebab was hamburger shaped and had some nice spices, though oddly was the smallest portion (since ground beef is cheaper). The chicken had a nice marinade and texture. The beef had the best taste, really bringing umami and spices, but the texture was kinda dense. I'm not a salad guy, but the salad here worked well with the meats. And I liked the little bit of hummus to give it a taste. Plus the yogurt dipping sauce was a great pairing to the meats. Karniyarik: Recommended by the server. It was big soft eggplant with ground beef and tomatoes on top. If you like eggplant, then you'll love this, since there is definitely more eggplant than filling. Though I felt like it might have been even better with some of that thick yogurt which seems to appear in a bunch of dishes.

Kapari was absolutely amazing. We ordered: * Iskender kebab: Buttery bread topped with gyro meat and tomato sauce with a side of yogurt. Super savory and rich--probably the best rendition of the dish I have had outside of Turkey. * Manti: Delicious, but could be a tad spicier. * Kunefe: Another hit! Not too sweet but decadent. The service was a little slow, but they acknowledged it and offered us tea/coffee on the house. I will definitely be coming back when I'm craving Turkish food!

YAS! After several months, the "hot and new" feature on Yelp is FINALLY working again so we can seek out small, under the radar businesses. And, just in time for the busiest day in the year for restos: Valentine's Day! *Ahem* Fellas, if you fumbled in securing rezzies this weekend...Kapari, a "hot and new" resto is a great option! Quietly opening in late January 2026, Kapari is located at the edge of Chinatown and FiDi. Street parking is easy on the weekends and after 6 pm on weeknights which is a plus! Rezzies accepted on Yelp. M E N U Turkish Cuisine. Everything is under $23 except the elaborate Turkish Breakfast for Two ($49) served on the weekends. No alkie but RM 212, a cozy bar/lounge is steps away. F O O D * Lentil Soup (Small-$5.50): https://tinyurl.com/53nvcmju Comforting, savory and earthy with a satisfying creaminess. To nitpick, it could have been served hotter. * Manti: Handmade beef dumplings w/ garlic yogurt, melted butter, seasoned oil ($19.50): https://tinyurl.com/333w3cx7 Their specialty dish, it hits all the notes of rich, savory goodness with a fresh creamy tang from the yogurt. The dumplings (like mini raviolis) had a delicate yet chewy texture with a spiced beef filling. * Mix Grill Plate: Grilled kofte, chicken skewer, beef skewer, rice, salad, hummus ($22.90): https://tinyurl.com/2dy33e4x All the proteins were cooked perfectly: the kofte, slider-sized beef patties were juicy and springy, the marinated white chicken was moist, and the beef shish kebab was flavorful and tender. Served with perfectly cooked pilaf, nicely separated fluffy + buttery, creamy hummus, and a fresh salad with a zesty vinaigrette. * İskender Kebap: Döner w/ butter-toasted bread, tomato sauce, melted butter, yogurt ($22.50): https://tinyurl.com/3rzt83bu A classic Turkish dish done right, a bed of toasted pide is topped with thinly sliced döner (beef+lamb), smothered with warm, tangy tomato sauce, and finished with sizzling butter. Rich, savory and hearty with a cool tangy yogurt for a fresh contrast. The pide soaks up all the sauces but still had a delicate crisp to it. S E R V I C E Warm, friendly, and prompt (we were one of two tables). A M B I A N C E Modern and minimalist yet cozy, with ornate Turkish plates and traditional tea and coffee apparatus artfully displayed on the walls. There's 8-9 tables. Overall, Kapari is a welcome addition to the FiDi/Chinatown area serving delicious and affordable traditional Turkish dishes in a cozy, stylish setting, ideal for a relaxed solo meal or date night.

We had reservations for another popular restaurant close by but then decided to come here instead as it was way too busy. I'm SO glad we did as it ended up being an amazing experience! A labor of love: This place just opened up 2 weeks ago and you can tell that it's a place created by a lot of labor of love. The owners who are a couple, were also the ones serving us and were super warm and hospitable. The ambiance is nice and cozy- not packed or busy like other places, where you can take your time and enjoy a nice Méditerranian meal. Now for the food... Everything was absolutely delicious! The prices are very reasonable for the area and portions. I got the breakfast plate which is sort like a make-it-yourself deconstructed breakfast with eggs, jam, cheese, cucumber, olives and bread. The highlight dish was the "manti" which was the beef dumplings with the yogurt sauce. OMG I could have dipped myself in that yogurt sauce and been one happy camper. That sauce is incredible!!! The dish is like nothing I have ever eaten before either. Warning: it will want you to come back and have it again soon! My husband also got the lentil soup which he liked. We can tell everyone is super authentic Turkish cuisine and also that each dish is made with passion and love that you can taste in every bite. For dessert we had the baklava - now as a Greek I had to try the two different types! They have the pistachio one (my favorite) which was served in 2 and very crunchy and the walnut one which was a bit different but still tasty. So it's nice that they provide a variety! Family friendly: It's also very kid friendly! They provide a generous packet of colored pencils for the kids to draw on the paper. I really appreciate that as when we go to restaurants and they only have 1-3 colored it's nice for them to have a variety! Bonus you can keep it or give jt back to be more environmentally friendly. The kids menu was pretty great, we got the chicken and French fries which came with tzatziki sauce that my kids loved. So I would totally bring the kids here as the menu is decent plus the added colored pencils and paper too! Overall it's so nice to see a new small family business in SF. The owners are super kind and also provided us with some complimentary Turkish tea which was amazing!! And a great palate cleanser. My kids loved the food also which makes me a happy Mama :) I would totally recommended coming here to try it for lunch or dinner - with the family, a group dinner or a date night! You will love the authentic food, the lovely ambiance and the amazing incredible service. It will no doubt leave you feeling like you took a trip to Turkey!

Food was deliciously harika! I just visited this cute green Turkish and Mediterranean Restaurant tucked in between Chinatown and downtown for breakfast(brunch)! Çok güzel yemekler, hospitality. They are very new they said was 3 weeks now has opened to serve. I ordered İskender(Gyro/Döner plate with grilled veggies on top special sauce, melted butter and yoghurd), lentil soup was çok güzel!, and Sütlaç which was the best a desert similar to rice pudding pistachios on top. They brought Turkish tea complimentary which was nice. Hope this review helps this new small business and hope you try soon! Güle güle

Came here opening day, and met the owners. They are a super nice and hard working husband and wife. I completely forgot to leave a review the first time, the food was that good! I recommend you try the manti, and finish the meal off with baklava and a Turkish tea. The ambience also very nice, it's bright, clean and seating is not too cluttered. Thanks Mahir

The food is the best Turkish food I have had in the United States. The tea is amazing and the staff is a family and very friendly.

    Turkish Breakfast

Finally found authentic Turkish breakfast in San Francisco! The quality and vibe are incredible--honestly brought back memories of my time in Turkey. The service was fantastic, and the food was fresh and delicious. A must-visit!

The special chef's menu was very delicious and wonderful.

best turkish breakfast ive had in the bay, lovely service and ambiance. GO HERE!!!!!!!!

    Falafel balls

Homemade food and wonderful service. Attentive and knowledgeable. Family own. A gem in the city of SF near Chinatown. Very favorable Turkish Mediterranean. Ambience is clean and welcoming!

    Manti and meatball

Absolutely phenomenal. This is the only place in San Francisco where you can experience truly authentic Turkish cuisine and it shows in every bite. The mantı (Turkish ravioli) is hands down the best I've had in the city. And the içli köfte was unreal. Crispy on the outside, beautifully spiced and tender on the inside with a depth of flavor. Easily the best version I've had in SF.

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!

The place is a little cramped, but we were able to wait inside until the whole party was there to be seated. It was a good place for a group dinner. The cocktails are cheap for San Francisco, and the beer selection is decent. And the food is dense and delicious without being too heavy. I shared the catfish with crawfish etouffee (special), the gumbo, and a dungeness crab beignet with my boyfriend. We also ordered some banana cream pie for the table, which was a huge hit.

There is some room to sit as you wait and there seems to be plenty of street parking around. The inside is cozy and I was tickled by their menu. They print a new menu daily! I wonder if they vary the menu by the day. We liked everything that we tried! We shared a biscuit and Hong Kong Toast. The toast was a little burnt and you could taste that through the condensed milk. The biscuit with the honey butter was delicious! These make great shareables because they're a lot on their own. That alone makes this a place I'd only revisit when I have plenty of time. The restaurant itself was clean, and the service was solid with no complaints there. I ordered the lemon piccata pancakes. I love lemon flavors, but the lemon curd topping was a little overpowering for me. Once I ate around some of the curd though, the pancakes themselves were delicious.
