We have visited Kapow Kitchen a couple of times over the years but unfortunately their quality has significantly declined. We ordered the Panang curry for takeout and paid extra $2.5 for shrimp. They did not include the shrimp and there was barely any vegetables, only extremely watery broth. As seen in the photo the bowl was not even half way filled. We were very disappointed. The pad thai was bland and dry, compared to before. The Vietnamese coffee was mostly just milk, I don't recommend trying it here. It is disappointing to write a bad review but there were not any good things to say about the meal. We will not be going back or recommending.

If you find yourself at Booth's Corner, consider venturing a little off the beaten path to the lower level to give the Thai food at Kapow Kitchen a try. It takes 15-20 min to prepare your food, so you could stop by and order lunch, get some of your shopping in, and grab your takeout on the way out. Service is friendly and we observed them to be following appropriate COVID precautions. On our recent visit, we had a hard time deciding what to order with so many great menu options, but wound up trying one curry and one noodle dish. I appreciated that they have a board demonstrating their spice scale and how it correlates to a well known pepper or hot sauce so you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. Our panang curry was flavorful, delicious, and appropriately spiced, though we didn't feel like the ratio of veggies/tofu to sauce was appropriate --- there was a lot of extra sauce. The pad see ew was good for a few bites but quickly became overwhelmingly salty, likely due to an overabundance of fish sauce. There was a large portion of noodles, so we did have some leftovers. We also tried the Buddha Belly dumplings, which reportedly have turkey, shrimp, and water chestnut but seemed to lean heavily toward turkey. They were perfectly pan-seared and were overall pretty good. We didn't love the overly sweet dumpling sauce they came with, though, and wound up throwing that out. I think next time we'll try the Kapow Roll, which we've heard good things about. We both really enjoyed our drinks --- I got the Quiet Hawaiian (black iced tea with pineapple juice) and BF got a Thai iced tea which almost tasted a bit like chai. Since the curry and the drinks were delicious, I'd call it an overall win. We definitely are planning go back and try other options on the menu.

Today's special - Fish Bao Buns

What a find inside a giant flea market! I made the trip from PA to stock up on booze at Total Wine and found this place thanks to Yelp :) The stand is on the lower level and there is a spot across the isle that offers seating, TV and option to play video games. The owner was very friendly and took the time to explain the specials and answer questions. Everything sounded so good! The bao buns were light, airy and well balanced. The fish was crisp and and the slaw topped with a spicy aioli. Being a first timer, I chose level one on the heat scale for the drunken noodle. It was perfect for me. I like a little kick, but I don't have a high tolerance for spice. I love that the green beans weren't over cooked! They had a wonderful crunch! The noodles tasted handmade - chewy and stretchy. Also, I appreciate the extra dollars spent on sturdy takeout containers. The bao buns sat snuggly in their carrier and undisturbed during my drive home. The drunken noodle, surprisingly, stayed warm. My drive was about 1.5 hours (but I did take a few bites before pulling out of the parking lot!). Love everything about this place and I will be back!

The food is AMAZING however the girl that cooks is very idk Non social. Tried to ask her a question and felt like I was bothering her. And when I came back to pick my food up I said thank you and was straight ignored. If she would take the headsets off long enough to hear customers around her. It doesn't look good on any business to have a cook that is rude especially when they are the only employee there who else was I to ask my question to about the food? All in all great food bad comstomer service. Plus it's a hazard to have a headset on while working cause you can't hear if something goes wrong. Please change your ways there it's sad enough the market around u is trash don't become trash along with them cause staff is rude AF

Huli Huli Chicken - so fresh and so good!

Delicious food and great service! Nice array of dishes, predominantly Thai but with some Hawaiian and Korean options as well. I'm usually skeptical of restaurants that try to 'do it all,' but this time it really worked out. My Huli Huli Mowl (Hawaiian teriyaki chicken) was huge and flavorful, packed with fresh vegetables and chicken. It's a great value, and one of the healthier options in Booth's Corner. 10/10, I'd eat it daily. I also got a Thai Iced Tea. I've had a lot of this over the years, between trips to Thailand, Thai restaurants, and even making it at home. Kapow's is made special by the addition of nutmeg and cardamom, which really elevated the experience. I do usually like mine with sweetened condensed milk (thickens it up) as well as the evaporated milk used here, but the spices made up for that. One thing worth noting is their spice scale. It ranges from 1 (tabasco) to 5 (Carolina reaper), and I'd say the descriptions are accurate. I like spicy food but don't want to feel it the next day, so I got a 2.5 (halfway between a jalapeño and a habanero). I thought I'd regret ordering so low a number, which happens every time I eat out and say "medium" instead of "spicy". But this place actually gets their spice scale right, and my food was perfectly seasoned. Hotter than a jalapeño, not as hot as a habanero. PERFECT. I wish I could export this spice system to the rest of America's restaurants, because they need it badly.

Pad ki mao. Flavorful and tasty.

OMG! Incredible tasting food. Full of flavor and taste. Better than most fancy thai places...a must try.

Hidden in the back of Booth's Corner, you would never know this place existed unless you ventured back there to see what was hiding. I am so glad I did! Kapow Kitchen is a friendly little spot with a fun staff and delicious food! Like the rest of the stores in Booth's Corner, it is small and only has enough seating for maybe 5 or 6 people. Pull up a chair, take a look at the menu and get ready to stimulate your tastebuds. I have a hard time controlling myself when I find a new spot to try, especially when the menu has so many cool things on it. I ordered a few items and everything was better than perfect. When something is perfect, it means it is exactly as you expect it to be. This food was way better than I expected and was a pleasant surprise. Yay! This is one of the first places I've experienced that are actually serious about their spice levels. You want it spicy? They will do it right. From level 1 - 5, you can get from "no burn" to "my everything is burning" easily. They let me sample some of their hot stuff and I had all my food cooked in it. I love hot spicy food, and this place nailed it. They even have a little competition where if you sign the release form you can win a shirt if you finish the entire meal within a certain time limit. There was a guy trying it when I arrived and he failed miserably lol. Make sure you check out their facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/kapowkitchen/ Tom Khar Soup (see pic) $5 - creamy coconut broth with a hint of lime. It had mushrooms, peppers and I went with chicken for the meat. One of my favorite soups to eat when I go Thai. This was just as good as every other version I've had. Not much to say about it. It was good. Kapow Roll (see pic) $3 - This is something they are well known for and I can understand why. Egg roll made with ground turkey, shrimp, crab and veggies. You get 1 for the price, and next time I am ordering 3! This was delicious! Different from any of the egg rolls I am used too. The crust is perfect and it is a lot bigger than the norm. It was served with a sweet sauce. Crab Balls (see pic) $8 - Four balls made with real crab meat, panko flakes, basil and Thai seasonings rolled and fried. I will be ordering a double of these next time too. Wow! Hot, fresh, melt in your mouth crab deliciousness. YOU NEED TO TRY THESE! Yes! Pad Khi Mao (see pic) $12 - This was a special they had on the wall. Not on the normal menu. Thick noodles, peppers, and whatever else you can see in the picture. My choice of meat was steak. It is served in a wax box. This was very tasty too. Give it a try if they every put it on the menu again. I will definitely be going back Probably tonight. They are only open 2 days a week. I believe they also have a food truck somewhere in Wilmington. I don't give out 5 star reviews often, but this place for what it is deserved all of them. Congrats!

    Veggie spring rolls

Kapow Kitchen is a recent, and very welcome, addition to Booth's Corner Farmer's Market. The hubs and I stopped in for dinner a few weeks ago. We tried the Veggie Spring Rolls (which were good) and I had the Huli Huli Chicken (Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken with bell peppers, onions, and pineapples topped with sesame seeds and cilantro) which was quite good and pretty healthy as well! My husband had the Spam Musubi (grilled spam with fried eggs and rice and some seaweed or something) which was a special that day. It was pretty awesome and not very healthy, but I think I will have to order that for myself if it's on the menu the next time we go. The owner and his wife were really super nice and very social. I hope the business goes well for them!

This is a 3.5 star review for me. First off staff is very nice. I have tried Wildwich before when…read morethey were a food truck and really enjoyed it. We ordered a few items to try and I just thought the price point for what you get is pretty expensive. We ordered: The cheesy crabby fries (not enough cheese and would have liked more meat), regular cheesy fries, The country smash cheese burger, the gospel cheese burger and the kids hot dog. My husband also got their sweet ice tea which was pretty good. The smash burgers had good seasoning but were a bit salty for my liking. It was also alittle burnt on the edges. My kid's hotdog was tasty for sure but not worth the amount we paid ($6-8?). My husband enjoyed his burger atleast but said the quality of the meat was lacking. He also saw the owner of the establishment yelling at his employees so the 'niceness' towards the customers seems to be an act. I read the other Yelp reviews here saying how they dont take dietary restrictions (gluten free) seriously which is sad. Good but not worth the money paid for this food.

I wanted to try a new burger spot, so I took a chance on Wildwich…read more So glad I did! I ended up just getting the single cheese burger with the fixings- that "awesome sauce" did NOT disappoint- and an order of fries. It was banging! "Simple", but divine! The smash burger was cooked to perfection! I also got a side of their "drunken bacon jam", because I was curious. Absolutely delicious. Happy that we have lots leftover to use on our breakfast sandwiches for the morning. I personally thought that the portions were super appropriate for the price. My belly is fully and happy, and I will most certainly be ordering again from Wildwich. Looking forward to trying more on the menu!
