The long awaited 10th annual UYE at Kapow organized by fellow Yelper Patty W. Twenty Yelpers filled the private back room with a view of the iconic Atlantic Ave. Close city run street parking found quickly for a few bucks an hour but dont get suckered by parking in the private lot across the street for a whopping $17.00 for two hours. Brunch on a Sunday and it was strangely a ghost town inside but was greeted immediately with smiles. The decor inside was Asian inspired with a splash of art. Met with our server Anna who was a rockstar and she provided us a few menu favorite options which sounded mouthwatering. By 12pm my wife's bottomless mimosas were flowing and our Wagyu Dumplings were plated, only four, but they were tender and full of flavor. The Blistered Shishito Peppers had a welcoming mid-heat bite to them. Waited a bit for the main dish of Korean Short Rib Hash to arrive, but it was worth the wait. Huge portion with vibrant veggies and crunchy hash. Not sure the identity of the green sauce but I drizzled extra. Grabbed a Thai Donut off my buddy's plate which was outstanding - not low calorie though. Full belly with an inspiring atmoshpere shared with a bunch of friends. Finishing up the brunch and took a peek into the main dining room where it was shockingly still a ghost town. Even though we were a large group, they accommodated us by providing separate bills, then my eyes widened followed by a confused smirk. The nerve of an empty business to charge a 4% fee (thought at first it was a credit card usage fee but was wrong, who gets this added money and why?) to use a private back room when our twenty guests were the only ones paying the rent and tips today - cmon dont be greedy. The bathrooms were a touch of originality boasting several gender neutral stalls with round acrylic communal wash basins. Geisha printed wall paper keeps that Asian theme going strong throughout. May come back to Kapow in the future...but that outlandish 4% fee still haunts me and hard to digest. Just this alone should have dropped the rating a half star but the ambiance, flavorful food highlighted by an awesome presentation in addition to the assertive friendly staff superceded that one egregious flaw. read more

Kapow Noodle Bar in Delray Beach opened in the former Salt7 space after its 12 year run. The restaurant is part of Kapow Hospitality Group, which was founded by Paul Greenberg, Jamie Day, Corri Day, and Vaughan Dugan. The original Kapow opened in Mizner Park in Boca Raton in 2011, followed by a West Palm Beach location in 2017 and, this Delray Beach restaurant in late 2024. Kapow is known for its high energy, pan Asian menu featuring comfort food favorites such as ramen, bao buns, crispy rice, sushi, and wok fired noodles. I came to Kapow for Paty's annual UYE, celebrating 10 years of fun and friendship. They set aside a private room for our group, which was really nice. Our servers were for the most part attentive although several of us did have to ask for our beverages more than once. For brunch, I ordered their take on chicken and waffles, served with a bubble waffle. The chicken was flavorful and crunchy with a slight kick, while the bubble waffle was light, airy, and delicious. The dish was beautifully presented with fresh fruit and syrup. The bao buns and noodle dishes looked really good too. I paired my meal with an iced tea. Even though full, I couldn't resist sampling a few bites of the desserts others had ordered. The ube cheesecake, Thai donuts with two dipping sauces, and crème brûlée pineapple were all outstanding. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and location. Thanks, Patty, for hosting another wonderful UYE and giving me the chance to celebrate 10 fantastic years with you! A final note, I did deduct a star for the way Shelly Dominguez handled a concern Patty had about a four percent service charge added to everyone's bill. As I understand it, if you prebook a large group event there is an automatic 20 percent gratuity added and a 4 percent room charge. If your group comes in and did not prebook and the room is open you can use it with no charge. On my bill it was a $1.20. I wasn't offered a printed receipt but others who requested one noticed it and brought it to Patty's and the servers attention. I had no problem with paying it but I did read the response that Shelly wrote to Patty and it was unprofessional and rambling. It accused her of trying to hustle the restaurant and it blamed her for the miscommunication about the 4 percent fee. I have hosted a number of UYE's and contacted the host restaurants beforehand and never had to sign a contract or pay any kind of added fee or deposit. Our food and service was good here when we came with a group of yelp friends for brunch. Food was a little pricey, but we figured it was Delray so... My husband enjoyed his sushi rainbow roll. And my shrimp pad Thai was wonderful. It was a huge portion and I took half home. Each member of our group had an extra 4 percent charge on their bill. At the time, I didn't think anything of it. Everything went well until it was time to pay, and that's where things went downhill. A friend had reserved the room for our large party, and we were never told that reserving the room wasn't necessary. Because of that, we were charged a 4% surcharge on our checks. We reached out to the owners about it, but unfortunately, they weren't willing to do anything about the charge. Honestly, between that and the food being just mediocre, it's not somewhere I would go back to. The road trip (from Miami), fun time with friends and the stories - a perfect five stars! I drove up this past Sunday for Patty's annual end of summer brunch UYE. It's always a pleasure to catch up with my friends from the 954 and 561 over tasty food and good drinks. Their blueberry mojito, of which I enjoyed a couple, was well blended and fairly strong. It was sweet enough to balance my savory and generously portioned Korean short rib hash. The mix of greens, including sweet potatoes, were fresh and tasty. I had asked for my egg to be runny with yolk but instead it was "well done". I ordered a couple of desserts to share with the table - the Thai donuts and pineapple brûlée. Both were just the right amount of sweet, enough to be enjoyed by the whole table, as well as having leftover for me. Other than the minor miscommunication with the egg, service was very pleasant and attentive. The reason why I take off one star, is in line with what my fellow diners mentioned about the extra fee. I've only been to one of their locations, the one that used to be downtown West Palm Beach, which unfortunately is no longer there. I've only been there for dinner a few times, but if you tell me you want Chinese food, I'm probably going to refuse takeout because this place is just so much better. There's honestly no comparison! During a Yelp event, a group of us came here for our annual end-of-summer brunch, and I had their egg caviar sandwich with a side salad. This was absolutely mouthwatering! I don't even eat caviar, but after trying this sandwich, I can understand why people put it on everything. It was freaking delicious! I added a side of hot sauce, which somehow made it even more amazing. It looked like a huge portion, but the sandwich was so fluffy, light, and enjoyable that I had absolutely no problem finishing the entire thing. They also offer endless mimosas, Bloody Marys, or spritzes. I went with the Bloody Mary, while my husband chose the endless mimosas. Since we were part of a large group, a 20% gratuity was automatically added, which I completely understand. They also charged a small fee because we wanted the enclosed room, which I found a little interesting. Our reservation was at 11:30am on the Sunday , and the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. Honestly, if it weren't for our group, it didn't look like they would have made much money that morning, so the additional brunch fee was a little hard to understand. That said, the 20% gratuity was absolutely fine, especially because our server, David, was fantastic. There was him and another waitress that was handling our large party. This review went from 5 stars to 2 stars due to the management's handling of the event. I plan an annual brunch UYE at a different location and I love doing it each year! Finding a restaurant to have a large group of people without having a large deposit to hold it or a pre-fix menu is quite tough...lol. All the planning paid off and it was a successful turnout by a group of twenty fabulous friends who made it happen. There was a separate room reserved privately for us and we were able to enjoy each other's company the entire time. We were able to order anything off of the standard and brunch menu. There are a ton of Asian options to choose from. The restaurant offers a bottomless mimosa and Bloody Mary's (mix and match) option for $18 with a purchase of an entree. I ordered the brunch flatbread for an appetizer to share and the chicken and bubble waffles for my meal. It took a while for my order to come out. My meal came out before the appetizer and I don't think it was intentional since the two waiters were accommodating to us while being kept on their toes to us The brunch flatbread and the chicken and waffles were ok. I was surprised that the flatbread wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The chicken wasn't moist and it tasted dry with the sauce. I had some bites of other items that people offered for me to try and they were tasted better. The restaurant was able to provide separate tabs and it is much appreciated that they were able to do so. The servers did a fantastic job. There was automatic twenty percent tip that was stated on the menu due to the group size. I was addressed by several people about a 4% charge that was applied on each bill when it came time to pay and I expressed my concerns with the event coordinator after I saw what the owner said on Daren's review about it. There were only two other tables that was in use while we were there and it wasn't busy at all. The owner mentioned that we would have been able to get the private room for no charge if we walked in as a group without a reservation and if it was open. We could request to use it. The owner threw it on me based on what the event coordinator did when I asked about having it reserved and everyone being on their own tabs. She stated it wouldn't be a problem and I would have to sign a contract to "hold" it. They would apply the fifty bucks to our card on our bill the day of for doing so. It stated the 4% service fee was $20 on the contract. Each of us got screwed with the fee by them charging it on each separate tab and the owner as well as the event coordinator doesn't want to state they made more money that way by doing this. The contract did not state each bill was going to be charged the 4% fee. It is completely wrong and I addressed it to the event coordinator. The coordinator reached out and said the fee is not dependent on how busy the restaurant ultimately is during the event. She also stated as a gesture of appreciation, our management team would be happy to provide me with a $25 gift card to use toward a future visit and would be emailed shortly. They wanted to cover up for what they did and still have not sent the gift card. Keep the money since you need it more! This was my first time at the Delray location of Kapow Noodle Bar, and unfortunately, it will probably be my last. I was invited to come with a group of friends, and while I had a great time with everyone, the food and overall experience were just okay. I ordered the Shishito peppers, which I thought were decent but definitely not worth the price. The Wagyu dumplings were a little hard and dry, while the chicken wings were by far the best thing I ordered. I also tried some of my friends' dishes, including the chicken and waffles, which I found to be lacking flavor. The flatbread was another dish I wouldn't order again. I will say that our servers were fantastic. They were attentive, kept everything clean, took our orders efficiently, and made sure our food came out correctly. What really left a bad impression was the 4% service fee added to the bill. It wasn't clearly mentioned beforehand, and when we asked about it, we were told it was a "room charge," even though the restaurant was practically empty. I'm not really sure what the charge was for. Overall, I had a wonderful time with my friends, but unfortunately, the food and unexpected fee weren't enough to make me want to return to this location. Anna took our order and brought out my first round of bottomless mimosas right away and about every 20 minutes she brought out more. Only $18 for the mimosas with purchase of one entree. We were a group of 20 yelpers reuniting for our yearly brunch. Patty W was gracious enough to set this up for us again this year. I was happy to go to Kapow since it was our first time at this location. I've been to Kapow multiple times at their Boca location. This was a first for brunch and we had a private room. The brunch menu is very creative offering many interesting Korean and Asian style variations using eggs and veggies etc. They had chicken and waffles and a magnificent looking French Toast. I tend to stick to less sweet entrees so I did try the Korean Short Rib Hash upon recommendation by our wonderful waitress. Paul had the Vietnamese Steak and egg entree which was truly awesome. Both entrees were large portions and delicious. Many of us indulged in early alcohol drinks as well as cappuccino and expresso. We also had several desserts at the table...We had the cheesecake which was luscious looking but very different tasting from the NY cheesecake. This was purple and creamy like mousse. Not our cup of tea. Others had the donuts and there was a very tasty and ripened pineapple dessert presented. Everything that came out was beautifully made and presentation was exquisite. The restaurant allows you to use the InKind application which saved us 20% of our check but I was disappointed that they added a 4% service charge on top of the 20% tip because we used our credit cards. I believe that a service charge is unnecessary and unfair. It's the price of doing business. Also the restaurant is located in downtown Delray Beach area where parking is tricky. Can be very expensive if you're not careful where you park. There was a private parking lot across the street charging $17 for two hours. I was lucky enough to find a public garage which was very inexpensive and parking on the street is metered and it's also probably around 2 to 3 dollars per hour. But Delray Beach is a hopping area and fun to walk down the street and shop or hang out. read more

We were in town for a bachelorette party and had a great meal at Kapow Noodle Bar. We were a group of six and waited about 20 minutes for a table outside. While we waited, we ordered some drinks from the bar. They had warned us that the seating would be a bit tight, but it wasn't too bad. It is best to do things family style at this restaurant, but our group wanted too many different things and was worried about the costs. Things are a bit on the pricier side here, but the food is pretty yummy. I ended up getting a rainbow roll and hotate nigiri that I really enjoyed, but my sushi came out to almost $50. Honestly if I'm not rating this place based on the food, I would've given them 4-stars. I love the fact that they had a party room, and I love the fact that they have karaoke. The two things I'm marking Kapow off for is the high cost and the quality of the karaoke. The audio sucks and the microphones aren't loud. The service was AMAZING. Stopped by for happy hour and dinner with some friends. We had heard that Kapow! has good sushi. Not only is the sushi delicious, but the eclectic Asian-fusion menu was full of delightful food and drink. After consulting with the knowledgeable server, we ordered some wine, which is 1/2 price during happy hour. She offered us a couple of tastes of wine to help us make a decision. Next up: what tapas and small plates did we want to order from Kapow's "snack attack" happy hour food menu? We selected the charred edamame in a fabulous tamari sauce that can best be described as a soy sauce on steroids. We also enjoyed some fried chicken buns, which had a nice flavor from the Korean hot honey. They were fairly heavily fried, which may not be to everyone's liking. I liked the crunch though. The General Tso's cauliflower had a good kick to it but lacked the crunch I was hoping for in this dish. Quite tasty though. Our final selection from the happy hour food menu was the waygu beef pot stickers. They were very good although not exceptional. I had high expectations because the wagyu beef implied over-the-top flavor. The sauce, which included garlic, ginger, and onion was terrific. I even dipped the fried chicken buns into the pot sticker sauce for some extra flavor. We then moved on to some rolls from the sushi menu, including the Boca rolls that contained spicy crab and avocado in a spicy eel sauce. Excellent! The sushi menu contains over a dozen interesting and creative items, many of which are described as being spicy. Lastly we enjoyed some baby back ribs in a hoisin bbq sauce, which contained some chili and had just the right amount of heat. The ribs were very tender and flavorful. The service was excellent, and the server checked on us several times to be sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was fun and festive. With a name like "Kapow!", it we were not surprised to see it was even a bit irreverent. We sat in comfy sofa-style seats in a corner by a window and had a delightful experience. Happy hour runs until 7:00 so we had plenty of time to taste several items and enjoy the 1/2 priced wine. The only issue was that the restaurant is a bit noisy and when a DJ started playing tunes, it got even noisier. Not exactly a haven for a quiet meal. Overall, Kapow! was a hit with us! read more

While I am sad to see Salt 7 leave, Kapow is a the perfect replacement! Kapow is the restaurant the ave has been missing, with their unique crafted cocktails and variety of flavorful dishes! I love how they utilized the space to accommodate people whether they want to sit inside, outside, or at the bar. The inside is dark, mysterious yet inviting. The bar space is the perfect spot to grab a drink with your friend while munching some apps. The outdoor area is perfect for staying a while, people watching, or dining with your furry friend. The meal itself was amazing. I opted for the burger and it was a nice blend of unique, bold flavors. I really emptied the spin on a typical burger. The fries of course were to die for. I think one of my favorite features is the variety of mocktails they have! Instead of just offering the same overpriced beverages with no alcohol, they put time and effort into creating refreshing drinks that are good for your body. I got a coconut mocktails and it was INCREDIBLE. My husband opted for a green drink and it was as clean and refreshing as it gets. This is my first time at this location. I came with a group of friends. Our server was Mackey. He was very friendly, and he really knew the menu well. He was able to make recommendations and gave us plenty of time to make our selections. Mackey had an answer for every question we threw at him! When we talked about enjoying the spices in our food, he said it's the "Kapow"! Happy hour is 4-7. I ordered the draft Sapporo off of the happy hour menu. We also tried the house wines. We ordered off the happy hour food menu as well. Mackey was so attentive. We sat in the lounge area and had it to ourselves. He brought us extra small tables for our food and drinks. One of the managers, Phoebe, also came out to check on us, as well Nick. We felt very appreciated. My friend that ordered the tuna tacos said that they were delicious with a little kick and very refreshing. Another friend ordered the Mongolian short rib tacos. She said that they were a little spicy, a little crunchy, but very flavorful. One friend ordered mushroom & carrot dumplings. The pasta is perfectly made and melts in your mouth. Came in around 11:30pm with a friend and were thrilled to find out it was half off sushi and drinks for ladies tonight -- what a great surprise! Rayney, the manager, sat us and filled us in on the specials. She was super sweet and didn't hesitate to seat us even though it was slightly before the kitchen was closing -- we really appreciated that. We were seated right at the sushi bar, where Lorendo took care of us and made some absolutely incredible sushi. The Hamachi Truffle was a 10/10 -- genuinely the best I've ever had. The rainbow roll was generous and delicious, and the tuna tartare had the perfect crunch from the brioche underneath. The drinks were great too!! Mackey was our server and was so sweet, giving great recommendations throughout the night. I work in the hospitality industry myself, so I know impeccable service when I see it -- and this team delivered it from start to finish. I had bought a GC last year and I called the location in Delray and they said it shouldn't be an issue using the GC I bought through subculture kapow a year ago. Everything was really good. I ate at Kapows when it first opened in Delray, I liked the vibe, menu, staff etc. I thought it was a good addition to the area. I dined there the 2nd time I was not as satisfied with anything. The food was mediocre not consistent from my previous visit. They made a big mistake removing the salmon tartar bombs from the menu, probably the best entry on the menu. The gen Tso cauliflower was over cooked, oversauced and too salty. The potstickers were still ok. The staff was ok. We were there for happy hour but yet a margarita cost me $14. Go figure. I worry that if they don't improve fast they will not last long on Atlantic Ave. too many other choices. What a great place to sit outside after a long day of work! We ordered a couple of drinks and then just sat outside and talked, the night was perfect. Tyler came over and introduced himself and then we ordered a few appetizers and enjoyed each other's company. After much anticipation and fanfare, Kapow Noodle Bar has opened another location along the very heart of The Ave in Delray Beach. I have always liked their Boca Raton location and was happy to learn about this opening (plus, it's only a 10 minute walk from my house). The most important measure for me is the food and it was quite good. That said, there are a few other Asian-fusion restaurants in the area including Beg for More and Hawkers, both of which I think I still prefer. We went around 1030 pm on a Saturday night and it was quite the happening place (after all, the name is "KA POW!", an onomatopoeia that seems to be comic book figure inspired) . The hosts and hostesses were very friendly and accommodating and our server was helpful and attentive. Foodwise, it was good. We enjoyed the wagyu beef potstickers. We really liked the cucumber salad at their Boca location, so we tried it again but it wasn't quite as good. The spicy beef was also good. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday and had a great time. The menu really sparked my interest because you don't usually see Asian style brunch food. I ordered the Kapow Brunch Flatbread and it was really tasty. They also had bottomless drinks for $18 which is a great deal. The bartender was really nice and provided good service. This Kappow is new, only 1.5 months old, between Boca and the West Palm units not just physically, but in terms of rating. This one has sushi. West Palm doesn't. Delray is massive, which, on a busy night, is no one's friend. It's part of the Atlantic Ave bar crawl block, so it's built for quantity. The shrimp and scallop shumai was tasty but over steamed. Kale salad was small for the price, tasty, but drowned in dressing. More kale for $18. Service was excellent. Parking is a bitch. West Palm still has the best food and vibe, but it handily beats Boca. Easier parking too. read more

Had a great time at the Delray Beach location on Atlantic Avenue. Met friends for happy hour which goes till 7 PM and sat outside. It was so wonderful! The food is delicious and the drinks are amazing! This is a great place for date night, hanging with friends, or a blind date. :-) read more

It's never a bad experience when we come. And everything just tastes better late night. The DJ was spinning inside but we chose to sit outdoors on this gorgeous evening. There was not one thing we didn't like. I don't typically ordered fried rice but we ended up ordering when we just all wanted a little extra after we ate everything. Went here for the first time with family that came in town. We had a party of 7 and got a very nice table right in the kitchen! Like legit right at the kitchen! Loud as hell from the kitchen and next to a speaker, we had to scream at each other to hear what anyone was saying. Constantly had people brushing up behind us from the kitchen. The price is not worth it for the food, big prices but small portions. Food was ok not anything special. Also half of our food was brought out so we waited about 10 minutes before all of our food came so we all waited and our food ended up being cold... Overall pretty crappy experience between the food, sitting in the kitchen, loudness. Had better expectations and was not a good experience in any way. read more

Tried this new location in Delray Beach and it was as good as the others. Food was fresh and very tasty, tried the dumplings, tuna tacos, and duck fried rice. All three were excellent. Plus, if you go during the happy hour, the food is discounted which makes it an extra special treat. The only downside is the tables are very close together so there's basically zero privacy for your party and music is a little bit on the loud side. But still a really fun place to go eat and have a drink. read more
