You can order outside or have a seat at the counter inside. I always pick the outdoor walk up window and picnic tables. Inside I feel like there is a smidgen of something left behind from every year that they have been open ...it's a little unsettling...so I recommend dining outside. Their subs are delicious!!! We arrived just around 30 minutes before closing time. It was my friend's recommendation on the way home to stop by. I tried the meatball sub, which was good and filling. My friend tried the crispy chicken sandwich. And although our food was tasty, the waffle fries were very dry and needed a little salt. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience except they shut off the grill 15 minutes before closing. I have no way of knowing if they were truly out of burgers that night like they said or it was just close enough to closing they had already turned off the grill to clean. Locals for life here and FINALLY made the effort to check out the famous Kappys!! We pass it all the time, it's busy and everyone loves it! We loved it! I'm not sure why it took so long to try this place. It's fast and it's food! We got the Italian sausage and my kids got a hot dog and a sundae and nothing disappointed. First time stopping by despite passing the place every day for work lol Definitely enjoyed the old dinner vibe of it all, perfect for a nice day to sit outside and enjoy some good food. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items because overall I loved it. Me and my wife split a Kappy's cheese steak which is more or less a chopped cheese with mushrooms and banana peppers as well as a pastrami reuben. The bread was soft and fluffy and both sandwiches were packed with flavor. I would recommend eating hot subs there on the spot rather than taking them home because they are quite moist and would likely fall apart waiting too long lol. The pastrami was very smokey which I enjoyed. Finally we had their seasoned waffle fries which were nice but I would likely get chips or no side next time just because how calorie heavy the subs are lol. We went for the Kappy's and Philly - with grilled onions and peppers and banana peppers. We also added lettuce to the Philly. We opted for the standard waffle fries side and sweet potato fries. Options also include onion rings, seasoned fries, chips, or slaw. The chopped cheese was great and I enjoyed watching the cook cook everything up on the grill. The Philly was very flavorful and highly recommended. They have some cookies from a local baker that looked delicious. They also have some old-school, hand-dipped milkshakes and root beer floats. First off I adore kappas subs. I was attending a class and decided to skip the class lunch and go pick up kappys. I ordered and paid on line and it said 12:15 pick up. I got there at 12:10. At 12:35 no food. I gave my name to the only other woman waiting. She got a free Philly combo. To those who have limited time don't even bother ordering on line. They are just too busy. I haven't been back in Orlando long so sometimes I purposefully miss a turn to explore a new side of town and this time I lucked out! I grabbed a cheesesteak with peppers, no onions. It was perfect. I really enjoyed the flavors and freshness of the sandwich. I am excited to go back and try something else. This is a small spot that looks like it may have been around forever (I think it's honestly over 30 years old) and you can sit outside or at a small counter inside. They have a walk-up window for orders and another to pick-up when it's ready. The staff was very nice and not at all bothered that I was stopping by at 8:45p. Stopped by Kappys today after a nearby Dr visit. Getting a good bill if health is always makes me want to celebrate. The staff here are always friendly and refills are lightening fast. It's much appreciated in this hot weather. Today I tried the Fatima Sensation with waffle fries. It didn't take long till I was dipping my fries in ketchup and wrapping my fingers around this sandwich. Roast beef, mushrooms, and cheese topped with a sweet tangy sauce. Heaven! Perhaps I am missing something... also I asked for light onion it was full onion for sure... The non-abundandant lettuce was half shreded and half cut. Hhmmmm... I went up to the window and asked for a fork and knife to cut off the pepper stems and the lady with the purple hair told me to wait and gave me an attitude. That's while I am 6 months pregnant. The shop is old and it's not very pretty on the outside but this was one of the best cheesesteak subs I've had in a long time. If you're looking for some excellent, authentic quality cheesesteak in Orlando then this is the spot! We stopped at Kappy's for a quick meal on our way to the movies. They are known for cheesesteaks, burgers and hotdogs but I love their eggplant parm sub - they top it with peppers and onions (and usually mushrooms but not for me) and the eggplant is crispy - def a bit greasy made to order with a great cheese and sauce ratio and really tasty soft bread. My husband ordered a burger with pastrami on top and our son said his tastebuds liked the burger a lot. He also said they didn't put enough onion on it but there was a lot of lettuce. It's basically a stand with some covered picnic tables outside - but we always enjoy it when we stop. read more
