Craving Mediterranean food and was tired of chain spots that we had frequented in the past. Kareem's popped up on our search and I am so happy we tried it out!! The strip mall that Kareem's is located in seems busy, but we were able to find parking right away. From the outside it may appeared a little run down, but the inside was clean and well maintained. There is a cute patio for outdoor dining too! Service was fantastic! Super friendly and helpful! The whole menu looked amazing and my eyes were bigger then my stomach. I ordered the cauliflower, spicy potatoes, hummus and the falafel bowl. Cauliflower was so good and not oily at all. Spicy potatoes were delicious... so much flavor!!! The reviews are a true testament to the restaurant's quality and friendly service. It's hard to find a healthy restaurant in the area. I drive down from DTLA to visit clients weekly and in LA we have healthy salad shops everywhere. Thankfully, Kareem's doesn't disappoint! One minor thing is my family thought the hummus lacked flavor. I kind of agree there, could use more garlic and lemon. Heard about Kareem's because it was featured in Eater's 38 essential restaurants of OC. It was a little tough to find because there isn't clear signage on the building itself, especially during the day. Look for a little white fenced off area, and a green KAREEMCO sign. You order at the window, take a number, and they'll bring your food to your table. There's a little table where you can serve yourself some water. Only one or two tables inside, with a lot more tables in the outside patio -- you probably need to do take out if weather isn't cooperating. Food was delicious. I got the plate with chicken, rice, and hummus. It comes with a side of pickled radish and some peppers. Generous portions -- it was very filling after eating it all (my friend had some left over). You'll also get a garlic sauce cup with your dish! Definitely one of the best Mediterranean meals I've had in a while. Looking forward to coming again! read more

The falafel wrap was a bit dry, and we complained about the fact that their water tasted like bleach and they pretty much said they didn't agree... the funny thing is that when I brought it up, another customer confirmed my complaint, and the employee still gave me a hard time about it. Some really good food. I tried their Grilled Chicken Salad GCS and it was delicious. Topped with fried pita crisps, that is the best part of the salad. The chicken is tender and flavorful. It is a generous portion for the price. The PITA is huge and so good. I recommend this spot for some quality Mediterranean salad. The family and I had lunch yesterday ate Kareem's. I have to be honest and say I don't know what the big deal is. Maybe there is something I missed? Based upon the reviews of my fellow Yelpers you would think Kareem's was the only Mediterranean joint in Orange County. The website describes the food as "Uniquely Made, Extraordinary Taste." That wasn't my experience. Kareem's sits in a very small strip mall and shares its fenced in outdoor dining space with a dry cleaner. There are a few tables inside. We arrived around 1:30. There was another family in line in front of us. They were obviously there before we arrived and couldn't get there act together as far as what they were going to order. Once they got to the counter it was a ridiculous repartee with the cashier of what was vegan(The menu clearly says what items are vegan.), what wasn't, who should order what and so on. I guess standing in line and reading the menu for ten minutes didn't help. Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me. There really wasn't anything unique from what I could see. I almost passed on ordering food all together but settled on the beef Kibbeh roll bowl with original sauce. It was basically a bunch of lettuce stuffed into a plastic take out bowl with rice, cucumber yogurt, croutons, pickles, pickled onion, and green chili topped with two pieces of Kibbeh. The whole dish had a bitter flavor to it. The Mrs. ordered the Kufta plate with hummus and rice as her choice of sides. She wasn't overly impressed by her food either. Kiddo probably made the best choice out of all of us and just ate the fries. I noticed that other people ordered bowls and their food was brought out in a ceramic bowl. I guess I was just lucky enough to get there when dishes hadn't been washed. The guy who brought our food to us seemed a little upset or annoyed. He literally threw a sauce container on the table. I enjoyed the hummus the most! Great texture (Not to watery not to thick) and very fresh and tasty! The chicken also had some good seasoning to it, a little dry (Granted it's chicken breasts), the grape leaves were decent, the stuffing inside (Rice and veggies, herbs) was also a little dry. They told us 20 minutes and when we got there 10 minutes after calling it was already ready!! The lady at the register was quick to process our order and was kind when we paid. This restaurant is tucked away at the back of a strip mall. It doesn't look like much when you first park in the parking lot. We actually almost turned around. If it weren't for all the great Yelp reviews we probably would have. Once you get into the patio area, you can see that this place is different from what you may have been expecting from the parking lot. Inside there's a small seating area and an order window. We ended up ordering a chicken plate and a chicken wrap. We opted to get the free cucumber infused water and go sit on the patio. The patio is very cute. Lots of shade, plants everywhere and a little fountain off to the side. You forget you're in Anaheim. The patio actually reminds me of this empanada spot in Santa Barbara that I love. It's just very chill and makes you comfortable here. The staff was very welcoming also. When they brought the food out we were caught off guard by how much food you get for the price. Everything has definitely gone up price wise out in the world but you definitely get a ton of food for what you pay here. So worth it! If I had to sum up the food in one word it would be amazing. We were blown away by the food. Everything was so flavorful and beautiful looking. I loved everything on my plate and that says a lot because I can sometimes be a picky eater. We were looking for a new go-to Mediterranean spot close to home and this place is it. Our previous favorite spot went under during the pandemic. I can't wait to come back again and try something different. The only negatives for me were that they don't have chicken shawarma or tabouli. Those are my favorites. The other negative is that we didn't love their baklava. I've tried quite a bit of it so I think I have a good gauge for what's good at this point.
