Bowl & Plate Eatery is a great spot if you're looking for something a little different from your typical Thai restaurant. We ordered the BBQ beef, laab noodle salad, roast duck noodle (dry), and mango sticky rice. My favorites were definitely the roast duck noodle and the mango sticky rice! The laab noodle salad had a nice kick while still being light and refreshing. Everything was packed with flavor, and the owner was incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Will definitely be back!

I love Bowl and Plate Eatery. I will always stop here when Im close by. The Tom Yum soup is well balanced with nice big tomatoes and lots of mushrooms, the lemongrass is present without having large chunks to pick out. The spicy eggplant was perfect as always. But my favorite will always be the spicy okra, its so yummy and fresh not slimy. I wish I lived closer to here

I've driven by so often I finally decided to try. The parking lot is small but there is plenty of parking. Be careful of some uneven areas and potholes though. I ordered online and arrived after the estimated pickup time and was told they were still working on it. There was a bench to sit and wait but the restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The cashier and cook were super nice and welcoming and packed everything nicely. I decided to get the Spicy Basil Salmon to try and wow it had sooo much flavor. The salmon didn't have a smell like some places and the flavors meshed well together and exploded in my mouth. I did think it was a bit expensive ($25), but I was happy to eat it at least. The thai tea was also pretty good, wasn't too sweet. The staff seem super nice and it was empty when I walked in, so i hope they get more business on the regular. The food was amazing and I'd get it again.

Photo doesnt do the food justice. Tender and delicious pork, awesome noodles, steamed veggies and added some eggs. The flavor on the sauce topping is banging. Definitely one of my new fave spots. I need to sit down and try some other things. Great service and nice interior. - Ken

Friendly service. I stopped in for a snack and got the fried tofu, which was really crunchy and served with a light peanut sauce. Delicious. I can't wait to try more things on the menu.

I've had this place in mind for a while after seeing the reviews on yelp, driven past it a handful of times and honestly the exterior of the store and plaza is pretty unappealing. We were the only people in the restaurant when we arrived and throughout eating. The tables were a bit sticky but aside from that the interior was nice and clean. Their lower reviews complained of small portions and high prices but prices felt on par with most restaurants these days and portions were larger than I or my mom could finish. They weren't skimpy on the noodles or the meat and both of our dishes easily could've been saved for another meal. The service was nice and straightforward albeit the food took a little long to come out, around 20 minutes after we ordered. We got the B&P Noodle Soup & the pork noodles. The noodle soup was extremely flavorful, spicy, limey, and salty. The pork noodles were great as well, the pork very soft and tender and had no type of odor. I was a bit indecisive about adding egg to mine and ultimately said no and the owner split the egg that came with the Noodle Soup onto mine so I thought that was really thoughtful. The thai tea was also solid although I personally wish it were a bit creamier. I think if they had more distinct branding/advertisement (it's hard to tell what kind of restaurant they are or what they serve from just driving by) it could really help. Without yelp, I don't think I would've ever thought to try this place off their exterior alone but service and food is definitely good and worth a try.

I live right down the street from this restaurant and have been wanting to try it for quite some time. Went today for lunch and the food was delicious, well prepared and authentic. We had salmon salad, larb noodle salad and barbecue beef. We started with a calamari appetizer that came with a tasty sauce. I had a green Thai tea. The barbecue beef comes with purple rice and steamed veggies. It is also served with a spicy tamarind sauce. The service was exceptional. Our server, Mook took excellent care of us. She was cordial and professional. The food is very fresh. They ask for your patience as every order is cooked to order. The ambience is a cute little place, welcoming, clean and nicely decorated. There are lots of plants. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was delicious. I had the yellow curry with shrimp and my spouse had BBQ Beef. Can't say enough how we enjoyed our meal. The place is small, clean and relaxing atmosphere. The owner of Bowl and Plate is the Hostess, Cook and Server. If we lived near by we would eat here every week.

This quaint little place was a one woman show the afternoon that we visited. We had the garlic shrimp as an entrée, chicken as an appetizer and iced passion fruit tea. The shrimp was the stand out! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rice was amazing moist with a lovely delicate earthy flavor. The chicken was white meat with a light breading and coated in a slightly sweet sauce. The tea had a great taste not to sweet. The food was absolutely delicious! We will be back!

Small restaurant and cozy restaurant located off Ball near Disneyland. The food was really good! I got their spicy eggplant dish during my lunch break. The flavors were amazing and taste very authentic. I saw that they make mango sticky rice which I will definitely be coming back for. The service was great, I called in my order before arriving which shortened my wait time. If you're in a rush I recommend doing this.

I was lucky to receive my dish pretty quickly, but some of the other people in my party had to wait quite a bit. But I think the staff were working as fast as they could so ultimately, i think service was fine. I tried the lomo saltado with beef, fries and garlic noodles. Overall tasted great. The fries still managed to have a crispy texture and had a sweet and savory sauce flavor to them. The beef cubes were tender and cooked just right. The noodles were fine as well. I liked that the noodles werent too heavy. The portion size is very large though, i was very full by the end of it. The green milk tea was good too. The milk, sugar, and tea ratios were all balanced and the flavor was subtle. It had an interesting flavor that reminded me of grass jelly and milk, but in a good way.

Really hard for us to go for a dish without protein more so than the actual entree but that just says a lot for their salad! I loved all the flavors and texture. You can't tell from the photo but they give a good amount of Burrata cheese underneath and the pear is also there sprinkled with candied walnuts on top! And for the Lomo Saltado it was a solid staple. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft on inside. The meat was also tender and not overly seasoned. As for my personal taste, the spicy wontons could have used a little more depth and umami. That said, I'd still recommend giving it a try! Taste is subjective, and there's clearly a lot of care behind the dish. I WILL be back for their drinks. No notes for the ones mentioned because I finished all 3! The menu takes familiar Vietnamese flavors then gets a little creative with them. The space itself has that same trendy Kei Concepts feel too. Cute, lively, but still casual enough to stop in for brunch or coffee. The workers here were super attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, but we narrowed it down to the Seafood Ceviche, Matcha Cloud Latte, Egg Coffee, plus the Beef Belly Banh Mi Chao. The Seafood Ceviche comes with scallops, shrimp, calamari, mango, coconut, Thai chili, plus shrimp chips. This was such a clean and bright bite with a little tropical flavor from the mango and coconut. There was a nice kick of spice too. They gave a good amount of seafood, so you weren't just eating toppings and sauce. Scoop everything onto one of those crispy shrimp chips... so good. The Matcha Cloud Latte was dangerously easy to drink. I genuinely think I could take down three of these. It's made with oat milk then topped with matcha cheese foam. It was creamy with such a vibrant green matcha flavor. Slightly sweeter than I normally prefer, but I'm sure you could ask for less sweetness. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but the Egg Coffee surprised me. It's Vietnamese milk coffee topped with egg foam and cocoa powder. That cream was DELICIOUS. Last was the Beef Belly Banh Mi Chao. It comes with beef belly, black peppercorn sauce, sunny eggs, pork roll, pate, tomatoes. We added Chinese sausage since we were sharing, but honestly we didn't even need it. They give you a MOUNTAIN of beef belly. I loved being able to build each bite however I wanted with the bread, beef, egg, pate, plus everything else on the plate. Such a fun dish to share. Another Kei Concepts win for me. I already know there are more things on this menu I need to come back for.

He was so friendly, outgoing, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. He had such a positive energy and really made our experience even better. And the FOOD!!! If I could give it 1,000/10, I seriously would. We tried the Ube Cloud, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Spicy Shrimp Wontons, Corn Ribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, and Filet Garlic Noodles, and honestly, there wasn't ONE thing we didn't enjoy. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. This was our first time at VOX Kitchen, but it DEFINITELY won't be our last. We ended up getting Mango Grahams, Pancit, Siomai and Popcorn Chicken. Before we placed the order, it was communicated clearly from the staff that there would be a wait (there were 3 parties ahead of us, and one of them was huge, so we kinda expected a wait anyways.) We also weren't in a rush and were willing to wait regardless, so that didn't really bother us. The Mango Grahams were exactly and more than we expected; definitely satiated my cravings. The food was also good and arrived in a reasonable manner. Again, we only wanted to check this place out because of the Mango Grahams, but we were surprised at how many other options they had for desserts, appetizers, food, and drinks. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I wouldn't mind the distance knowing the quality and options they have. The portion was generous, though I do wish the beef was sliced a little thinner. I loved the truffle aioli. The arugula with apple added some freshness that balanced everything out really well. The Crab Roe Spaghetti was probably my favorite. I wish the sauce was just a tad thicker, but once everything was mixed together, the noodles held onto it pretty well. They did NOT hold back on the crab either. There was crab in basically every bite with that seafood flavor coming through strong. It almost reminded me of lobster bisque in pasta form. Amazing. Yum. The Miso Picanha Steak was a little more mixed for me. The miso flavor came through nicely. It was also cooked perfectly medium rare. Unfortunately, the steak itself was pretty tough. I was really looking forward to that signature fat cap you get with picanha. It became a little bit of a struggle to chew after a while. BUT THE POTATOES??? I genuinely didn't know potatoes could taste that good. Easily some of the best potatoes I've ever had. The broccolini was cooked perfectly too. Whatever that orange sauce was on the plate, I need it in my fridge immediately. Between the food, beautiful space, plus incredible hospitality, INI absolutely lived up to the hype for me. Kei Concepts, please expand to San Diego. But for now, ill make the drive.

The combination of tasty food and attentive service earned the five stars. Been wanting to try this…read morespot for their mega katsu dishes and it did not disappoint. HUGE props to Ian for holding down the FOH fort solo on a slammed Friday night. He handled all the tables and the 8+ groups waiting with such grace and genuine care, showing just the right amount of urgency to indicate the patrons were the priority. He anticipated when the tables might need refills or extra napkins, never flinching when it seemed as though everyone wanted something broiled table side, all while juggling the scorching dishes the kitchen crew cranked out with ease. Ian very easily tipped this review into five star territory with his hard work! We ordered the chicken katsu and the bibimbap for the two of us, but really want to try the short ribs and cheese, and the bibimyun. The crowds were a diverse mix of Korean elders, young college kids, and neighborhood folks - all signs that the food speaks for itself. If you're looking for quality Korean comfort food, a simple menu, and an intimate atmosphere, this is the place for you. Oh, and the banchan choices were great for a kimchi, pickle, mac salad lover like me!

I went to Dawa Kitchen a few years ago with my younger sister and dad, and I'm glad this place is…read morestill in business and that their portion sizes are still incredibly massive! We ordered the chicken katsu curry, beef soup (galbi tang with glass noodles), and dawa chicken. All three dishes were shared family style and we had a good amount of chicken katsu curry to take home as leftovers for my friend's partner to eat for his dinner. Can you believe that a group of seven women only had to pay $71.86 total (including tax and the automatic gratuity for our party size that was 5+ people) for that much food? We each paid $10.27 for our portion and that's highway robbery in this economy. I'll say that our server was incredibly friendly when he was present, but he admittedly came by literally only three times during our visit: when we had to dramatically flag him down to order, when he dropped off our food when it was ready, and when we had to flag him down to pay for our check. I'm so glad they had a handheld terminal for us to use for checkout because I might have passed out waiting any longer, lol...... there are always trade-offs in this life, I suppose.

The front half of the restaurant is not huge, so avoid coming with a large group unless you don't mind splitting up.
