I found Karin when I was looking for more support than the "standard" practitioners I was referred to after a car accident. Luckily when I found Karin she was able to get me in right away during a critical time window for recovery and she definitely stood out amongst others in what she provided. My first session she helped me feel safe and she was able to make me feel safe even though I had just been thru something very traumatic. She looked at the front and back of my body and all the ways things are connected in the body-- even what's connected to my organs. Each treatment was so comprehensive. She'd know just what to do and I always felt like I was in good hands. If there was a position I couldn't do, she'd modify it to meet where I was at and really looked out for my best interest when I was so vulnerable. She is extremely talented at Rolfing but she also went beyond Rolfing to help me with what to say to caregivers and friends as my life role changed and I needed to do things different in order to recover. Karen also has a rare gift she can help and she knows what to do without having gone thru it herself. And she is incredibly versatile and caring. I would highly recommend Karin for your team. I just completed my 6th session of the Rolfing 10 series, and I have to say that I am really pleased with the results so far. My sense of what rolfing has done for me is to help me have the awareness to reimagine the ways I walk, move, sit, exercise and otherwise live my life with better mechanics, by correcting old patterns, relieving tight muscles, and guiding the body to learn new ways to be. Wow. So I met Karin like a year and a half ago when j got turned into Rolfing my a coworker who was training to be a Rolfer. Having had chronic pain for years and contemplating surgery I have been through the gamut of chiropractors and body Worker's often finding minimal relief. I did the three series with my coworker and then found Karin to complete the entire 10-series with. Since then my gait and patterns of movement have changed or reset and many of my chronic pain patterns dissipated. I can not recommend her enough. Karin has an almost always gentle restorative touch. Even in the few instances when the touch is painful, she helps you breathe through it and there are amazing breakthroughs on the other side. For example, in a recent session, she worked on ribs that have been restricting my breathing and motion for years. The work involved some pressure on some very tender body structures through my chest, but when she was done, I could breathe easier and could feel the improvement in my circulation. i took Karin's online Jaw Therapy webinar on Sunday, Oct 18th -- i can hardly believe it, yet i have NO MORE JAW POPPING !! i was a tiny bit sore / sensation aware for the first few days after the webinar & i felt somewhat "awkward" - like things were "re-aligning" in my jaw / head. i am beyond GRATEFUL. it feels soooo soooo good to have a functioning jaw, including much less to almost no clenching, and the absence of "popping". Karin was a gift to me about a year ago and I am grateful I met her. I read her reviews and her website that gives a very comprehensive overview of her background. Well, let's just say she is absolutely all that and so much more! First of all, she has a kindness and calm energy that immediately set you at ease. Her office is so calming and quiet. It's a treat to just be there and in her presence. Karin takes the time to get to know you and your history so she can have the best approach with her Rolfing. She has a touch in her Rolfing that is strong and releasing but so centering and gentle. When I came to her, I was struggling with an injury that I later discovered, due to Karin's prompting, was misdiagnosed by my doctor. I'm so grateful for her observant, clinical approach. Karin did more than care for me in her practice, she set me up with home exercises, assisted me with approximately fitting metatarsal pads, advocated for me to see another doctor and helped me establish care with one of her colleagues after I moved to another state. I'm in the medical field and recognize a good clinician, Karin is above and beyond good. She is one of the most caring, clinically sound and a true patient advocate. Karin's rolfing treatments have helped a great deal with the chronic back pain I have struggled with for more than 20 years. I underwent a femur- lengthening procedure in 2009 to correct a 2 inch difference in my legs caused by a birth defect. I had a few rolfing treatments before the procedure to relieve some of the chronic tightness in my body due to compensating my whole life and to prepare as much as possible for the surgery. My legs are the same length now and I am about to begin the series to integrate my new structure! For over 20 years I have had pain in the area of my SI joint. Karen has been the only one in all this time and years of treatment (by many different types of practitioners -- PTs, chiropractors, naprapaths, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc. -- that has been able to pinpoint the issue. With 15 rolfing sessions under my belt, I would describe myself as somewhat of a movement enthusiast and advanced rolfee, if that's a thing. I care a lot about movement, posture, and overall disposition, and have had tremendous success with rolfing as a medium for expressing my body's (and mind's!) potential. I've found that releasing past traumas stored away in my body and relearning more optimal movement patterns has not only improved my physical quality of life, but it has also positively affected my personality on deeper levels as well. So that's my +1 for rolfing. During my 10-series with Karin, I've had the pleasure to get insight into her philosophy as much as she has heard me ramble about mine, and can recommend her with confidence if you are someone who is thoughtful and deliberate about your health. Karin is bright, curious, and knowledgeable on all topics human, and these qualities are there for your benefit should you choose to engage with them. To get more out of your rolfing sessions, I would recommend asking Karin about the parts of your body that she is working on as she is working on them; for the intellectual types out there, getting to hear the theory behind the manipulations and feeling the work at the same time can really help you integrate the change more effectively. Even though the stimulus may be external, true change can only from the inside, so every little bit of introspection helps in my opinion. Karin can definitely get you on the right track and tell you as much as you care to know :) PS I noticed that a previous reviewer left Karin a one-star review(!), which is kind of ridiculous when you think about it... I mean, even the Taco Bell by my house gets at least THREE stars from most people, so I do find the lack of perspective a bit comical. I've had chronic back and hip pain for over 4 years. I tried many different holistic methods ie, chiropractic, massage, accupuncture etc., but I only received some temporary relief. I had chronic sacroiliac (SI) joint pain when I went to Karin after seeing several doctors and trying other therapies. This was the first time in my life I had experienced ongoing, constant pain. I tried many forms of therapy, but it was not until I was "rolfed" that I received any lasting pain relief in the SI area. I noticed changes or improvement with each session, but not complete recovery in just one or two sessions. Karin can do incredible things correcting posture and alignment. For example, my left shoulder was higher than my right one for as long as I can remember, and around the 8th session my left shoulder was aligned with my right shoulder. The series takes 10 sessions, and it is well worth the commitment. After the 10 sessions I went to Karin for a tune-up, and am amazed at how a little fine tuning can help me move with even more freedom. read more

I spent about 4-5 years with significant back pain, 3-5 days a week, following a spinal fusion surgery. About a year ago I learned about rolfing and persued a rolfer. I talked with Karin a few times to let her know my situation and I felt like I could trust her to work with my unique body structure and pain. She was responsive to my physical feelings before, during and after sessions. I have competed the 10 sessions and feel significantly better. I used to feel like i was "stepping up" into my back muscles whenever I stood. My body feels more solid due to the physical results of the series, the information, resources and knowlege given to me throughuot the sessions.
