Really cute brunch / breakfast spot off the main street of new hope ! Feels like being transported back in time sort of an old school feel in a vintage well kept building . I had the wings and poutine fries which were delicious ! We also had drinks which were strong and well made . It gets pretty busy so make sure to reserve ahead of time !

Such a quaint place in New Hope. Simply great food from the burgers to the eggs Benedict I can't decide which I love more.

We came after a show! Lots of seating available! Lucky, it was wonderful to get to enjoy this restaurant that's been on my bucket list for too long ! We were greeted so warmly !! There soon was such a trail of people waiting to get into this place and I was pretty happy that they were all behind us. You can hear the kindhearted hosthost as apologizing and courteously explaining this to people . One lady was being pretty aggressive with the most giant pram child carriage I have ever seen. She banged her way all in and then started yelling and getting even her kid upset that she couldn't believe that they didn't have chicken nuggets. It's too bad that the preciousness of this restaurant was lost on her. There were such a nice offering of special dishes on the menu. It was hard to decide!! The inside has art on the walls and very cozy nooks . Lots of windows displaying the charming town and its wonderful stone architecture. And such a beautiful day. It's really delightful. We ordered iced tea and an appetizer with sliced almonds and apricot honey drizzle . It was a companied by some artisan bread. Very delicious!!! I ordered the sweet potato crusted cod with a gorgeous salad of mixed greens and pomegranate garnish . The dressing was so delicious , flavorful and fresh! Everything looked and tasted so wonderfully. If I had my ukulele, I would sing a song about the sweet staff and how I feel like I am in such a sweet town with wonderful little artists and even the staff here are hospitality artist. They treated us like family . I loved it. The walls of colorful art depicting the terms of this fair area and the darling homes of Bucks County. The food is not only flavorful, but it has artistic merit & displaying delightful colors! It was wonderful to be cared for by my waiter. Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make such a wonderful day possible.

The first dining experience we had on our recent trip to New Hope, PA was Karla's. We arrived for a late dinner and were greeted by friendly staff and an eclectic, quaint and homey feeling dining space. This unique restaurant is filled with artistic and delightfully charming decor and boasts multiple dining rooms flanked by a hopping little bar. To start we ordered a Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita, Cucumber Gimlet and the Baked Brie appetizer. The margarita was a beautiful blend of sweet and heat and the gimlet was a wonderfully refreshing departure from the summer sizzle. The Baked Brie was generously drizzled with a buttery honey and accompanied by soft, crusty bread and a spiced olive oil. We selected the Glazed Sesame Soy Salmon and the Grilled Skirt Steak for our entrees. The sweet and tangy salmon adorned a medley of fresh vegetables, and perfectly cooked soba noodles. The dish was reminiscent of a really yummy teriyaki-style salmon. The Skirt Steak was drenched in rich brown gravy and served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was well-cooked but could have benefited from a tad more seasoning and perhaps a bit of heat. Overall, Karla's was very enjoyable and I definitely recommend stopping by this sweet little spot for a bite, cocktails and an overall good time!

We sat outside on the balcony and it was so lovely. We all got the mac n cheese (which was incredible). My one friend got the fried chicken entree with mac on the side and the side was great value & size. The service was quick despite how busy the area and restaurant was in general. Would go back in the future for sure.

Well....such a controversial spot. From outside it looks european, authentic, and intriguing. Ambiance is very relax(ed) and relax(ing). But once you get in, everything changes. We came in as two adults and a baby. They don't have high chairs (huh?). That means they don't welcome families with young children. Noted. The outside covered patio looks fantastic by the way--and that's where we sat. We just pulled the stroller to the table. The food menu is pretty versatile. There are some choices. They have a separate drink menu and the place specializes on their martinis. Here's a tasteless catch though, if you look at their menu at the very very top they quote some guy, whose alleged famous quote goes as following: "Let me get a cock-tail". I am not kidding. How childish, tasteless, basic, graceless, and tacky. Yuck! And all this basically sums the place up. As far as food, I had a turkey burger, and my husband had a short rib burger. Turkey burger was actually good, but my husband's burger was again...basic, tasteless...etc etc (you get the gist) This "new american" place as they claim could be so much more....But oh well.

Stopped in on a recent Sunday for lunch. The place is very small but has seating inside & outside. It was very busy. We sat outside as the weather was nice. Will start with the bad. The older blonde / white hair man who seated us was just plain rude. Threw the menus at us and left. Thought maybe we pissed him off for some reason but he was just as rude to other customers who brought their dog to sit outside. Apparently dogs aren't allowed by the way & boy did he let the the entire patio know. He shouldn't be allowed to deal with customers. I was very turned off from this point. The good? Our waitress was pleasant & food was good. Ordered a chicken sandwich & fries to split. plus a Sangria & hubby got a beer. Would we go back? Not sure.

I was in town for the Pride Parade -- a well-organized and celebrated annual event that the town proudly hosts each year. The restaurant had a charming vibe and embraced the festive spirit of the parade, which initially set a positive tone. I was looking forward to trying their brunch menu, as recommended by staff and advertised outside. Unfortunately, the menu offered limited vegetarian options, which was a bit of disappointing. Service was noticeably slow. I heard another customer inquire why and the staff mentioned they were unprepared for the influx of guests -- surprising, considering this is a well-established event that spans a full week. (From my table I had counted ten tables empty?) The lack of preparation was evident, and guests around me were openly expressing their frustration. I kept it simple and ordered pancakes, which still took 35 minutes to arrive. Throughout the restaurant, tables were waiting for drinks and refills. It was disheartening to witness such a missed opportunity for a local business to thrive during a high-traffic event. Whether it's a lack of staffing allowed by management or poor scheduling decisions, the outcome was the same: one overwhelmed waiter and one additional staff member whose role was unclear. It's unfortunate, as staff rely on tips, but with service falling short, it becomes difficult for patrons to feel generous. What should have been a great day for business turned into a missed opportunity. I hope the restaurant learns from this experience and better prepares in the future -- both for their guests and for their hard-working staff. P.S. I loved that the coffee came in all different mugs. Cute touch.

A cozy restaurant serving great food. Monday is a locals small menu day. We ordered the Pasta and eggplant dish and the Panko crusted Cod fish with risotto and crushed tomatoes seasoned to perfection!! All dinners come with soup or salad and dessert. Typically Monday is a slow evening for dinner not at Karla's!!! Great service and friendly. Even other guests at tables were very nice. Definitely a good place to visit.

The food is excellent, the service is great. I love the interior of the restaurant. I will come back again.

Ask the Community - Karla's Restaurant

    Is there heated outdoor seating?

    Yes!

    How's food and service?

Food is fine. Service, on the other hand, was not. They ignored us when we walked in, were rude when we asked to sit not right next to a high traffic area, then took forever to even be acknowledged to order food/drinks.

Does this restaurant have a river view?

No it does not. But great views to people watch.

The surf & turf was a very generous portion of short ribs and sea scallops noodles with wild mushrooms in a truffle cream sauce. We also had the sesame and panko crusted tuna entee with wasabi "air" foam. We appreciate the wonderful experience, outside table surrounded by blooming seasonal flowers and plants. Perhaps this review is a bit belated, but it's never unnecessary to mentally return back to a trip…read more(from a few months ago) to ensure I close out my reviews from that time with one more stellar write up. Herein lies the five stars of Stella of New Hope which was a superb dinner for my wife and I on what was a lovely April night. This evening of early April was nice enough to warrant eating outside (albeit with the help of some heat lamps) on Stella's deck area overlooking the Delaware River. It's quite a calming view and definitely set the mood of the night. What also helped was some fabulous service as our waiter was kind, attentive, and gave a few great suggestions for the menu. After getting a couple of refreshing drinks (the wife did a margarita while I had the bourbon-based Stella Spritz) we headed down the food path. Those aforementioned menu suggestions started playing a role here as the waiter suggested the house-made bread, but told us we can get the brown pumpkin sage butter that's usually on top of said bread on the side (a fantastic idea, especially because my wife can be a little iffy with pumpkin/sage). Now it was a great thing to have that butter for dipping, but dang I wish the Delaware River was filled with it because that was some good spread! The wife even enjoyed it, and the flavors really complimented the warm, fluffy brioche type loaf that we consumed. For the main course, my wife got what can only be described as every onion ever (more on that in a sec), while I took the waiter advice one more time and got something I don't normally have, hence why I went for the house-made lobster ravioli. Wow were these tender morsels exquisitely delicious. The butter, lemon, and truffle found in the sauce added such flavorful notes. Speaking of flavors, it's onion time! My wife ordered the French onion pasta which literally lists four or five different kinds of onions in its menu description and really creates a wild punch on the palate. It was a little rich and perhaps overpowering for my wife to finish on her own (I can understand how it might be a bit heavy to attack for one person), but I helped to get her through most of the meal and I can't say I didn't love the onion life. Maybe it's not for everyone, but if you enjoy a good onion, get this. Overall, Stella of New Hope is a wonderful spot to dine at. There are great views, lovely service, delightful drinks, and some fantastic food worth experiencing. Not the cheapest meal I've ever had, but well worth every dollar spent. I can't say when I'll be back to New Hope, but it's not that far from where I live so there's always a chance I'll return. And if I do, Stella will be on my mind.

My friend ordered the salmon special, and said that she really enjoyed it. I forgot to note how the mashed potatoes were made but I do know they had some paprika in them. Almost like a twice baked but different. Delish! I had the French Onion Pasta. OMG. If you are a French onion fan please run to Stella. I have thought about it ever day since. What a wonderfully bouquet of onion. The whole meal was onion yet not overpowering at all! The cream sauce was not too heavy. This meal is to die for. I cannot wait to go back. The view is amazing, we ate at the window by the river and of course all of the servers and runners are polite and friendly, as is the nature of the upscale restaurant. We both highly recommend Stella.
