5 stars- I have been coming here for over 5 years and they have a very loyal following. You can read all my previous reviews and can assure this is an amazing experience. They do a great job, impeccable service, and great food bursting with flavor, it's quiet and located in an artsy area of Lambertville. Unfortunately they discontinued dinner in the backyard although they have several tables you can dine at on the sidewalk. They will also be expanding into a Vrbo or Airbnb as the owners purchased the building. The current dining room has nine tables and is surrounded by artwork done by Estella who one of the owners. One advantage is that this a BYOB so you can bring any wine you want and will obviously save on cost. It was three of us and for starters we had the Sourland Spring Mix salad, the Homemade Tortellini with Black Truffle Cream sauce that was amazing. We also had the Saiteed Tian of Crab, Aioli which has been a staple on the menu for years. For entrees we had the Sautéed Rouget Barbet with Tuscan Bean Salad, Apple Salsa, the Seared Faro Island Wild Salmon and the Rack of Lamb. For desert we had the apple and walnut pie with vanilla ice cream, their famous profiteroles, and their special desert which was amazing chocolate mousse of some sort. We have dined here twice now and both times have been wonderful! You can make reversions on open table but if you don't see a time that works for you call and ask. They are more than happy to accommodate. The husband and wife owners are lovely. The chef prepares all food I house and sources local ingredients. They are BYOB and have a credit card machine. IF YOU EAT ONE PLACE IN LAMBERTVILLE/NEW HOPE, it should be D'FLORET!!! When planning our visit, I chose our dinners around this restaurant and Dennis Foy! From the moment we arrived, we were treated as special guests by Estella, (Even though it was our first time here). Most of the other patrons were regulars! Estella guided us through the menu. We started with the sautéed tian of crab and the homemade tortellini in Parmesan, garlic cream sauce. Both were spectacular, but had to say that the tortellini were EXCEPTIONAL! Definitely made with love... we savored every bite. For our entrees, bf chose the slow roasted filet and I opted for the sautéed rouget barbet... tried this delicious white fish as I had never seen it before on a menu (which Estella recommended for that same reason). Again, we both were just amazed with the flavors of the meat/fish and complimentary sides!!! As we were getting full, we packaged up portions of our meals to take home. The desserts were just as impressive as the rest of the meal. The chocolate over hazelnut praline with chocolate sauce...OMG!!! Equally delicious homemade dessert of clementine tart with gelato was amazing as well! Don't forget that it's BYOB and CASH ONLY! Nestled in the suite town of Lambertville, is this lovely gem. D' Floret is quite a special place. Exceedingly gracious welcome upon entry by the hostess. The owner Estelle also extended her wonderful hospitality. Each table has such a delightful bouquet. The decor and gorgeous art display of folded silk on the ceiling was so pleasing to the eye. Artsy elegance. Very lovely vibes. The menu was one page. There were about five entrées. I love this. They take a lot of pride in their menu. We ordered the Tien for an appetizer. Cooked to perfection. Such lovely chunks of crab meat, so delicate crispiness, flavorful and beautiful too! For entrees we ordered the Faroe island Salmon as well as the tortellini. Everything was absolutely so flavorful and so fresh and so delicious. The tortellini shapes were elegant ribbons of pasta. Precious! The portion size for absolutely ideal. So very satisfying. No amount of hospitality and good service could compensate for the meal I received this past evening. My wife and I came to Lambertville on a short getaway. This was our one and only opportunity to have a pleasant dinner in a town that seems filled with excellent restaurants. I had an $80 veal chop that was mostly fat and inedible. The parts that wasn't fatty was difficult to cut into and chewy. I don't like fatty meat, and usually get filet mignon, but felt like having something different. Veal is usually lean, and while I've had a poor cut once or twice in my life, never have I had a veal chop this fatty. It was also very thick, I'm used to veal chops at fine restaurants to be pounded thin. I can't speak for my wife's meal since I didn't want to ask and risk ruining our weekend. We haven't been able to get away in over 7 months due to a sick family member. I say this so the restaurant understands that what they serve is sometimes more than just a meal, and more than what we paid them for that meal. This was an escape from our life which has been particularly hard lately, and it's unlikely we'll be able to getaway again anytime soon. When my wife told the person at the front desk where we had dinner she went on to list other restaurants we should go while obviously making a point to not say anything negative about D'Floret, it was so obvious she was not a fan. The only highlight was the bread and the dessert was decent. I write this not to be mean, but to communicate to the owners that what they offer is sometimes more than just a meal. No fine restaurant should allow such a bad piece of meat to be served to their customers. They should take the loss and throw it away. We often rely on yelp reviews to choose a restaurant, but it seems that some people are just not as willing as I am to properly communicate when something is just not right. I will be asking locals or the hotel staff for recommendations in the future. read more

What a find! We had a wonderful dinner at D' Floret. The entire meal was perfection from start to finish. For starters, we enjoyed the arugula salad and house made tortellini topped with freshly shaved truffle. The salad was perfectly dressed and the tortellini has the perfect balance of both delicate and decadent. Accompanied by warm bread (from Tribeca) and Spanish olive oil, which were were spot on in texture and flavor. For entrees, we opted for the rouget barbet and the bronzini, both perfectly cooked and balanced with delicious sides. Dessert was an amazing white chocolate pot de crème with passion fruit glaze and profiteroles. The service was excellent. D'Floret is one of those smaller venues that you are happy to find in a charming town like Lambertville. The vibe is upscale relaxed. The food is very good, featuring many fish dishes. The service is great. The hostess is top notch, she made us feel like we were family and was very attentive. Lovely artwork adorns the walls that was created by the co-owner. D'Floret is a small restaurant on the corner of side street in Lambertville just a short walk from Bridge St. This is a small menu, high quality restaurant with very reasonable prices given the high quality and attention to detail in the preparation. At our table (outside), we shared a creamy tortellini appetizer which was amazing. We had a branzino entree which was a crispy, skin on, boneless fillet. Excellent! We also had a seared scallops entree that was cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared a creme brûlée which was a bit deconstructed. Sooooo gooood!!! I'll be back!!! Often!!! read more

This tiny jewel of a restaurant, sits on Main Street in Lambertville. It is only open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday. It is BYOB & they don't take credit cards. The walls have beautifully painted murals that make you feel like you're in a small cafe in France. The food is excellent. A small menu, prepared to perfection. It is also BYOB. We caught a last minute reservation at this highly recommended restaurant. We greeted pleasantly by the host (wife). They quickly open our wine, bread and gave us the printed menus. Four of us started with Gnocchi which were very good and light, butternut squash soup, and the signature crab tian. All were good, the crab tian, a sautéed crab cake with almost all crab, was small for $21. I had fluke, a special, others had Faroe Island salmon, wild boar, and Skate. My wife and I dined at D'floret In Lambertville NJ, last evening. We have been dining there for over 13 years. Always experiencing a magnificent menu from Chef Foye we were not surprised at the astounding, wonderful dinner, he had prepared. My wife started the evening with the "Butternut Squash Soup, with warm Mediterranean Spices", as to which I sampled, was superb. Her main course was "Roasted Rack of Lamb", Pomes Purée, Glazed Carrots, Chive, Au Jus, that was out of this world. I, on the other hand opted for the entrée, "Sautéed Tian of Homemade Tortellini, Minced Black Truffle Cream Sauce", my taste buds went ballistic. My main course arrived and I was gab smacked with a spectacular "Flat Grilled Swordfish, Fennel Tomato, Garlic, Burnt Onion, Orange". It was heaven! Dennis Foye is one of the most masterful Chefs I have ever experienced. He, aside from being magnificent at his gastronomic craft is one of the most personable people I have had the pleasure to meet. He will, at the end of the evening sit own at a table and will converse with and have a glass of wine with customers. Estella, his wife and partner, is a beautiful woman inside and out. She is a warm and intelligent woman who runs everything with precision. Between the two of them they have created a little piece of heaven with the most magnificent dinning experience. At the risk of being to the point, not funny, and loss of personality, I will seriously opine that this BYOB is the best restaurant I've been to in Lambertville since the days of Jim Bulger's Swan Hotel and Hamilton's Grill both as they were in the 1980's and the 1990's. Dennis Foy is brilliant, and so is his wife and staff. It is so lovely to be pampered with attitude and service of friendly professionalism. So, you want an appetizer? Go no further than the chilled pea soup. The freshness of the pea flavor tastes as if the peas were shelled that afternoon after freshly picked from the garden. The gnocchi was a delight, with a perfectly cooked texture, pillowy but not mushy. The Rouget Barbet, a beautifully lightly pan-butter-browned piece of smooth, glistening, tongue delighting, firm red mullet sitting upon a bed of Tuscan bean compote, was simply fabulous. The fluke special of the evening was equally delish. Based on the apps and entrees, it didn't matter that we didn't have room for dessert, we ordered two! ESPECIALLY since we had learned that Chef was a pastry chef also! The raspberry tart with vanilla ice cream and the lemon gelato with chunks of lemon pie (and crust) in it, simply blew our minds. There is no reason to go anywhere else, make your reservations, even at 5PM (small seating of about 10 tables, plus outdoor seating, 4 nights a week). Just a wonderful, family owned restaurant with a great chef. Only caveat is they are small and on busy evenings can keep you waiting a while to get in. Our reservation was delayed 30 minutes, meaning we were kept waiting outside for that long. Reason earlier diners lingered. They need to institute a time limit for the table. read more

Amazing place to have dinner in Lambertville! Can't say enough good things about the food. The restaurant is quite small (seats about 20 people total), which creates a nice, cozy ambiance. The food is OUTSTANDING. We had the homemade tortellini, soup on special (mushroom and chestnut), salmon with broccoli rabe, and the roasted rack of lamb. Everything was delicious! Lamb was cooked perfectly, soup was creamy and very umami, and the tortellini had almost a "cacio e pepe" taste with the parmesan. The restaurant is cash only.
