Not sure why but the guy taking the orders had a seriously bad attitude when we went up to the counter, already knowing what we wanted to order and communicated it quickly. Then, when our buzzer went off we were waiting for other customers to clear the area so we could pick up the food and he made the 'hurry up' hand gesture....as if we weren't trying to get to the counter. Also was annoyed when we asked for a bag FOR OUR SINGLE BURGER after the fact. He never asked us "For here or to go?" Just very unnecessary and rude. We gave him no trouble to be treated that way. Howdy burger is a little pricey but overall delicious! I prefer local hole in the wall burger joints but howdy is my "go to" chain like burger. Also, the lemonade is very good!! Fresh ingredients and enjoyed the burger besides the onions were just not my cup of tea. read more

Tried the latest addition to Mother Road Market and it ROCKED! Burgers are thin and fried on a hot griddle so they get a perfect crisp outside and a fantastic carmelized flavor...lettuce, tomato and onion super fresh...bun soft and buttery, a fantastic combination that is incredibly flavorful. Rodeo fries are loaded with bacon...the fourth food group. Good fries with nothing on them, loaded down they are awesome. Add to all this great customer service, pleasant and helpful even late in the evening, and everything came out quick and hot. They have the recipe for success dow Great burger, great fries. This is a super combo and I will be back! We have been back, several times and they have always been spot on. Okay, so I have been wanting to check out this spot at MRM for a while, but was honestly always caught up with either Doctor Kustom or Chicken and the Wolf. But I am very glad I finally made enough room in my stomach for this bad boy of a burger. This is the Original Howdy Burger that comes with double meat, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions & rodeo sauce. It's a tasty smash burger that reminded me a bit of a Shake Shack burger (and some other delicious smash burgers I've had in NYC). The patty was cooked beautifully and had a nice crunch to it and the toppings, as "basic" as they might seem to be since they're like on top of 90% of burgers, were fantastic. I also tried their fries, and they're good. Nothing I'd scream my head off over, but still quite good. Looking forward to heading back and trying out their "loaded" version that comes with a few bells and whistles. But for now, let's keep the focus on this must eat burger. read more

HB creates the old fashioned type of burger, when we put it on the griddle and smashed it to make it more crispy. Had the wag-gouda with bacon and jalapenos, and it really hit the spot. Very impressed how tasty the 'penos were and how they added a nice bit of heat to the burger, something one typically does NOT experience when you see such on the menu. The veggies were fresh, and the bacon crisp but not burnt. The fries were good, not soggy, but not outstanding (these were the regular fries). I'll have to try the rodeo fries next time. Ok, so I found HB on door dash and it had 5 stars so I figured I would give them a shot because we were so in the burger mood! The reviews on Yelp were great as well so yup, let's give them a whirl! We are all about supporting our local small businesses with Covid! So our meal is dropped off. Placed our food on plates. FYI, the fries are not big so you should order individual ones. I order 2 original howdy burgers with everything and 2 plain with just cheese. I also order 1 plain fry and 1 cheese fry. 1. The plain French fries are very good. 2. The cheese fries are ok. I don't know if I would do them again. 3. The plain cheese burgers my son said tasted like a In and Out burger and he ate every morsel!! 4. The original HB, I took the first bite. My husband said I made this face. I looked at him (mouth full) and said, "OMG it tastes just like a Dick's burger!" Now, we lived in Seattle, WA and the BEST BURGERS in the world are from Dick's Drive in Burgers!! If anyone had one in Seattle, you know!! They ARE the bomb! i ordered the donation creation, where 25% of the sales go to local charity. the burger included wayou bacon & blue cheese with two beef patties. it comes with fries as well. they cook their burgers the way i like mine cooked, slightly burnt with a smoky taste. it went well with the blue cheese that will make a mess every time you take a bite. they don't hold back on the bacon either. their fries are good, you can get them loaded with cheese, bacon & so forth. they have lemonade to choose from that looked good, i passed on this visit. i'll just have to order some next time when i try the sunrise sandwich. read more

Decided to stop on by last night to try out the latest addition to the Mother Road because I'm always on the quest for finding the best burger. The bad news is that this definitely isn't it. The good news is that it's perfectly fine and a decent option if you're visiting the Mother Road already. That being said, I would not go out of my way to get one of these burgers again. My wife and I each ordered the Howdy Burger. I added a fried egg and neither of us had onions. We also split an order of the Rodeo Fries. About 2/3 of the way through the meal, we both sort of said the same thing simultaneously, that it just wasn't anything special or noteworthy. My expectations based on price and assumptions was that this could be compared to the quality of local or regional fast-ish food burgers like Shake Shack or In-N-Out. For the above mentioned items and 2 soft drinks it came out to $28 before tip. That seems in line with Shake Shack and a little above In-N-Out. The burger seemed to be of okay quality but the flavor profile leaned a little too heavily toward salty and I couldn't really taste a variety of flavors that accompanied it. It's a flat top burger with thin patties so I was thinking it would compare to other burgers made famous in Oklahoma but it didn't stack up with them. If there were a Shake Shack, In-N-Out, and Howdy Burger at the Mother Road, for the money I would go with Shake Shack because at the same price point I think they just produce a much better tasting burger with similar high quality ingredients. If the line there was so long that I didn't want to wait, I would go with In-N-Out because while the flavor profile might be pretty similar (I think I'd have In-N-Out as 2A and Howdy as 2B in this grouping) the price is better there. The fries have potential at the price. We thought about getting our burger from Howdy and fries from Umami Fries but at $5 compared to Umami's $11 on average, we decided to try the Rodeo Fries that Howdy was offering. The bacon was good but the cheese just tastes like melted Velveeta so combining that with the salty flavor of the burger, it just felt like too much salt for a non-mainstream fast-food burger place. That being said, I think if they went a little lighter on the cheese (I know, crazy idea right?) and maybe added in some different flavors like a little bit of sour cream, maybe some sriracha, etc, it could be really good and definitely worth saving $6 compared to their neighboring fries place. Service was great and the food was served hot and fresh within a few minutes of ordering so no complaints there. I'll probably try it again in a few months to see if they've made any changes/improvements. I think there is good potential but with so many options at Mother Road I think they need to step their game up a bit to compete. read more

I pride myself on being a burger guy. I like all different types but I tend to go towards the old fashioned style over the modern style of burgers. That being said...I do not write many reviews but I felt the need to. I ate here a few weeks ago and must say...the burger is on point. If you like a cheesy, gooey, seasoned burger then this is your place. The burger is more on the old fashioned side with smashing the meat onto the grill to give the patty that fried look, taste and crunch. The bun is fresh and goes well with the meat (I think it is brioche). I had fried onions and bacon on mine and it was perfect. I chose to have their rodeo sauce put on the side so I can add it as wanted (it's a blend of ketchup, mustard, mayo, and pickle juice) and it really goes well with the burger. The fries are said to be fresh and I think they double fry them to get a hard exterior like so many people like. I feel that kind of takes away from the fries but that is just my opinion; I prefer them fresh and not double fried. Overall, I would definitely come back here for another burger! They do have lemonade, which tastes fresh made. Do yourself a favor and get the double or triple, do not skimp out, you will regret it. read more

I was looking for a place to stop in and eat on the way back to downtown this afternoon (12/20/22), where parking wasn't go to be an issue and I wouldn't have to walk far, actually drove past Howdy Burger and did a u-turn before the Home Depot, kind of selecting it out of necessity. Sometimes I just luck out. Not much to the restaurant in terms of decor, but I go to a restaurant to eat, and besides, I'm going to be on my phone anyway. Simple menu, burger options, fried chicken sandwich - regular and spicy. Combo with fries and Pepsi products. I opted for the regular chicken sandwich and was really happy with it. It's a real piece of chicken breast, not a compressed patty, overflowing both sides of the bun. I skipped the lettuce and onion, opting just for mayo and tomato. Fries were good shoestring, salted to my taste (which might just be too much for some) and because someone else asked for sides of "rodeo sauce" (a mayo based condiment, not spicy at all) I got some for fry dipping and poured a little more on my chicken sandwich. In addition to the really tasty meal that hit the spot, the visit was made even better by Katelyn and Kelly talking about the history of the restaurant, the other restaurants in the McNellie group, and the rest of their menu, including a Waygu and gouda burger I'm going to try next time. It's counter service, but it's not pre-cooked. The increase in quality over the chain fast food restaurants is substantial while the extra cost is reasonable. I'd estimate I spent $2 more than I did the last time I get a fried chicken sandwich, fries, and a pop from Wendy's, and the chicken was more like what I'd get from sit-down / waitstaff restaurant, where I'd spend about $10 more. read more

Howdy Burger is an EXCELLENT spot for good quality burgers in Tulsa. I consider this Tulsa's Shake Shack: a little pricier than places like Claud's (also superb), but slightly superior bun and ingredients. Go with the Howdy Burger: two patties with cheese, lettuce, tomato, fresh onions, and Howdy sauce. It is delicious, from the juicy patties to the fluffy bun. Sure, it's more expensive than your average Whataburger entree but it also tastes fresher and has a richer flavor profile. The fries are only adequate - typical fast food fries - but that does not make the burger any less of a standout. I look forward to my return. read more

These guys are doing it right! The bun is just thick enough to keep your grip but doesn't take over the burger. Don't be afraid to order the triple, you'll still be able to take a bite. There is nothing special here for this expensive burger joint. I order the double burger which was supposed to have 'rodeo sauce' and the rodeo fries which was supposed to have rodeo sauce. I guess they ran out of it because my burger and fries surely didn't have any. This left a plain boring burger. The fries came with cheese sauce and bacon. The bacon was ok but cheese fries should have shredded cheese on them. Counting the lemonade it was $20. read more

The sauce is mustard based and for a guy that doesn't put mustard on his corn dog, I like it. Fries are normal cut fries and fried to perfection.
