We are SO grateful to have found Karma Dog and their puppy socialization classes offered every weekend! My puppy is so much better for it! We just finished our 7 weeks of classes - my 4m/o puppy is fairly well behaved and I know it's because of the training! We preferred the Saturday classes since Aimee was the trainer - and she is great! If you're thinking you don't need puppy training - YOU'RE WRONG! The classes are as much for the puppy as they are for the owner to know how to do things properly to ensure a well-adjusted dog. Saturday Class overview: - puppies and their people gather at 12:30 pm - we chat a little and then puppies are allowed some play time to socialize with each other and to wear off some energy - we work on one command (sit/stay, come, leave it, etc) after some instruction from Aimme - more puppy play time - more training practice - Q&A on any puppy problems and then class ends with puppy massage and handling techniques (puppies need to have so much handling when they are young so they don't mind the vet/grooming visits in the future) Aimee is really great at explaining why we do the things we do. She also knows when a fight is about to break out and does a good job as ending it quickly (I know, I couldn't believe that puppies would fight until I saw it!) The revolving class schedule is really convenient too because if you miss a class, you can just make it up at the end. I was searching online for a place to take my two small dogs to get some training. Well overall, they were good-natured, social dogs, they did not have the best manners and would jump on people and the furniture. Not to mention they would pull excessively when they were being walked which does not make for a pleasant dog-walking experience. I found Karma dog training online and got a quick response from Aimee with pricing and general information. She mentioned setting up a time to meet for a consultation. I was choosing to do the board and train program as I thought this would give my two pups the best chance to learn through intense training consistently throughout the day. I went and met with Aimee and knew I must take Kingston and Jay to her. The aura of her house, her sweet dogs, and her demeanor when I met her gave me instant confidence I had found the right person. I went and visited Jay and Kingston in the middle of their training and I could already see a huge difference. Even though I was getting consistent updates from Aimee telling me everything they were learning, I was astounded to see it in person. They had already been transformed into different dogs. Aimee was absolutely amazing with them...so calm, assertive, and you could just tell they were listening to everything she wanted from them. They came home a few days later and though I was a little nervous they would go back to their old habits once they were in my home and not Aimee's, Aimee dropped hem off and spent over and hour showing me everything she had worked on with them, answering any and all questions. While it is an investment, it was 110% worth it, Aimee transformed my dogs. Not only did she work on everything we discussed, she also taught them how to stay, wait, go to their bed, and just all around puppy manners. I cannot tell you how much more enjoyable they are to have now, not just because they listen and are well mannered, but because my dogs seem like much happier and relaxed pups. It was like they had a brain transplant and came home completely different doggies. I adopted a 14 month old Kelpie from the shelter and pretty quickly discovered there were a few issues that needed addressing. I contacted several trainers and had 2 consultations. I chose Aimee as she was very helpful in deciding what kind of training was needed and was very honest about what the results might be and how long they would take. We decided that one on one training was the best option instead of groups or board & train. We met weekly and worked on the issues and significant progress was made. Aimee is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and gave us variety of tools and techniques to help a dog and owner learn correct behaviors. She has been flexible with her schedule and is willing to meet wherever works best for us. We love Karma Dogs and Aimee. We purchased the 5 personal training sessions with Aimee for our two pups. She has been a pleasure to work with so far. We have completed 2 of our 5 sessions and we can already see such vast improvements in our dogs. She is very straightforward and takes the time to explain everything to us. She checks in with us throughout the week and sends us emails with helpful tips and homework. We have a 6 month old Mini Aussie that is very fearful of other dogs. Anytime she sees a dog, she will bark her little butt off. But after working with Aimee and doing our homework- she has already improved. Today she played with the dogs Aimee brought to our house. We really wish that we had put our little Aussie in Aimee's puppy kindergarten. We had her signed up, but then we went to Petco to get treats the night before and the trainer there talked us out of it. We tried the Petco class. BIG mistake! We had a hard time to find a trainer that would work with big dogs. Francine came to help us because our German Shepherd was barking and lunging at other dogs. She did a fantastic job evaluating our problems and offered realistic advice and lessons to practice. She allowed us to work it at our own pace. We can now walk our dog down the street. I have been procrastinating to write this review about John, my trainer.through Karma Dog Training and I could kick myself for not doing it sooner.... If you live in San Diego, Look no further! It has been difficult for me to find the words how much he has helped me and my crazy household and I am very blessed and grateful that he is my trainer. I already had two Cardigan Welsh Corgis, and then adopted a 4 month old puppy, some mixed breed, very sweet and smart but highly active and I was worried he was too active to keep around my two senior dogs while I was at work. I spoke with John on the phone for a consultation regarding how hard it was for me due to my hectic schedule and how I had to place Teddy in the kitchen with potty pads in an enclosed pen. I knew this was not the way to potty train him and I was desperate. John later met with me in my home and after a long, long discussion and him interacting with my three dogs I knew he was going to be my savior. This was no laughing matter to me at all! John was very understanding, and immediately eased my fears. In minutes, he was able to demonstrate to me just how smart my Teddy was. He made recommendations for modifications around my home inside and out, (which all were beneficial and worked), and he even met me at the store to shop with me so I could find the right products to keep not just my puppy, Teddy, but all three of my dogs happy, safe and healthy. I did not even question his recommendation for REVERSE BOARD AND TRAINING in my home. I hired him on the spot...All three of my dogs loved having him around and appeared to miss him when he went home! :) I highly recommend the reverse board and training if you work out of the home! John worked with all 3 dogs and even got them all to sit, stay, fetch and play nicely with one another while I was able to focus on work. It was so sweet to see my eldest dog playing again. Brought tears to my eyes. Teddy was of course potty trained in one day with John's help. :) I must say I am extremely impressed with how patient John has been with me. He is not just a fantastic dog trainer but also a HUMAN trainer, in fact I quickly learned that I had setbacks because of my lack of continuity with training and getting Teddy enough exercise. My husband and I love Karma Dog Training! We brought our Miniature Schnauzer puppy, Emmie Lou, home right at the beginning of the pandemic and were worried about when she could start attending some basic obedience classes as well as socialize with other puppies. Karma Dog Training is great as they offer a Puppy Kindergarten class which includes 7 weeks of weekly virtual zoom obedience classes along with puppy curbside drop-off socialization classes. Ashley Bartlett is Emmie Lou's trainer and she is phenomenal! I was a bit skeptical at first about the zoom classes, but I'm so happy we decided to do them! Ashley is very patient and goes step by step through the training's and walks each owner through the process with their pup until both the owner and dog feel confident. I had my first free session with my 13 week old puppy, and we loved the puppy socialization class. I did a lot of research for other businesses in the area, but couldn't be happier with my choice to go here. The environment is relaxed, and in just one visit we have already learned a ton. My puppy has retained the training from the first class, and LOVED the time to interact with the other dogs in a controlled environment. An absolute great place for your pup to get started with training and being around other dogs! After getting an 8 week old puppy I logged many hours trying to find the best place to go for socialization and beginners training. I looked all over San Diego, had conversations with people over the phone, visited a class a PetSmart and more. I found Karma dog online and decided to give them a call. Jeff was very informative over the phone regarding what is all covered over the course of the class. I was allowed to attend the first class at no charge and also offered a discounted rate of $150.00 (instead of $199) for finding them online. My girlfriend and I attended the first class, and ever class there after, along with our pup Hank. He was the smallest guy there in size, but definitely not in personally. After about 15 minutes on the first day we saw his personality blossom by being around other dogs during play time. Aimee, the instructor, teaches a very well curriculumed course that goes for 8 weeks covering a different lesson each week. One of the great parts is that each lesson builds off the previous and there is the perfect amount of repetition to ensure the dogs are keeping up. The classes are very flexible, unlike PetSmart, if you need to miss a class or go to a different class. Aimee takes great pride in the course that she puts on and her own dogs are always present and work with the puppies and dogs in the class very well. All of the owners are envious of how well trained her dogs are and she uses them to help show us proper training techniques. Karma dog uses different facilities I believe, but we attended class with Hank at the one located in Sorrento Valley. The facility is great, the health standards and preparation are superb, and there is easy means for separating dogs if needed, for instance putting the smaller dogs on one side and bigger dogs on the other side. In addition to completing the puppy kindergarten class with our now 6 month old and well trained and behaved dog Hank, we have also used Aimee to board Hank when we are out of town. We are very comfortable leaving Hank with her whether it be for two nights or more than a week. When we are away she sends text messages and picture messages of him, which we love. I really mean it when I say that Karma Dog will give you, the owner, and your dog the best service and attention when looking for a kindergarten and/or obedience class. At PetSmart we felt just like a number for a corporation and they couldn't meet our flexibility needs. Karma Dog did everything and more for us. We will continue to use in the future for training, play dates, boarding and more. Our rescue chihuahua-mix had some serious abandonment issues, and I was not helping him at all with my well-meaning, but incorrect behavior. Trainer John Curtis has been EXTREMELY helpful in helping us both through our issues. John's guidance, tips, and insight into dog behavior have been invaluable. We found Karma Dog Training several years ago when we got an Aussie puppy that peed all over the house. Karma was able to teach us how to fix the problem, which was gone in a week! And now, Karma has been so fantastic for our rescue dog, Kona. We got him at a shelter about a year and a half ago, and Aimee has really taught him how to be obedient, and a fun part of our family. Not knowing what his past was, or what traumas he went through, she has taught him to come back to a happy and healthy place. I just recently adopted my first puppy, Luna, and after lots of research I decided to try Karma Dog Training's puppy kindergarten because of their commitment to positive training. Right off the bat I was very impressed when I called and spoke to Jeffrey who was very nice and helpful on the phone and immediately sent me a very thorough email with everything I needed to know about the class, recommendations for different treats, collars, etc., and a coupon for $50 off. I also love that we were allowed to go and try out our first class before paying to see whether or not it would be a good fit--which it absolutely was! We went to the Sorrento Valley location and had Aimee and Diana as our trainers, who were both fabulous, knowledgeable, and very loving with each of the puppies. While Luna is quite boisterous (to say the least) at home, we learned that she's actually quite shy around other dogs. I was again impressed when after demonstrating the first skill to practice, the trainers separated off an area for the more timid dogs so that they wouldn't feel so intimidated by the friendlier ones. In a matter of minutes, Luna was opening up to other pet parents, and even started playing with some of the other puppies! During practice time, I felt like the trainers did a really good job of circulating throughout the class and spending time giving feedback to each parent/pet. By the end of class, Luna was completely in love with Diana and when I mentioned this to her, she pulled out a handful of the treats she knew Luna was responding to and gave them to me to take home and practice with her (and told me exactly where I could buy more). I also really liked that the trainers scattered play breaks throughout the training exercises so that the pups could work out some energy and not become frustrated or bored with their training. At the very end of class, I was approached and very gently asked how I liked it and how I felt Luna responded, but I didn't feel like I was being pressured in to signing up for the class at all. Needless to say, I of course registered (and you should too!). So far, I am incredibly happy with the class and can't wait to see all the progress Luna and I make by the end! read more

I have a reactive little dog that I found at the shelter a couple of years ago. Gracie is so cute, but can be a little difficult when people and other dogs get into her space. I was very excited when I met Karma Dog and Aimee - I was looking for a board/train program (I was going out of the country for 3 weeks), and the thoughtfulness and care that Aimee exhibited when she came to meet us for an initial evaluation immediately put both of us at ease. During my time out of the country, with Aimee keeping me posted with progress reports and pictures of Gracie interacting with others - I had no worries and felt positively about the training she was receiving. Since the three weeks of board and train, Gracie has really been such a good little dog. It is clear that she has learned. In normal day to day life, she looks to me for leadership and instruction. One big example are her manners; she totally waits now when the door is opened. All I say is wait and she immediately stops and looks at me waiting for my command. She has also learned how to stay, even when I walk away, out of sight. It has been wonderful!! Since then, I have attended Aimee's doggie training class, and Gracie continues to improve in her interactions with others, both doggies and people. Aimee has also taught me how to continue to reinforce positive behavior with Gracie, and I can't say enough how much I would recommend her to anyone. It has been worth the expense! read more

Cleo is on her third week of training and also my husband and I too! We have learned so much and I must stress how this company philosophy of training dogs is truly wonderful. No dog is ever "bad" or a trouble maker necessarily. All situations are dealt with appropriately and best of all my dog gets to socialize with other dogs in a safe environment and I feel hopeful that our ultimate goal of having her be a dog that helps people in need can now be realized with this training! Unlike the trainer we looked into before finding Karma Dog training, Cleo has not scored a "D" on their test! Give it a try, you won't be sorry. As suspected, and vet confirmed, our newly acquired 13 week old Sheltie needed some training. We received a couple referrals from our vet; however, with the research we did online and with follow-up phone calls, we decided on Karma Dog Training. Their quick response and knowledge of training techniques--mainly positive reinforcement--along with their long list of satisfied customers convinced us we would receive the right training for our puppy from Karma. Our trainer, Aimee, was unbelievable from the beginning. She commanded each and every puppy's attention and seemed to be able to read their thoughts. She possesses multiple training tips you can utilize to get the best results for different behavioral problems. After just a few lessons things just clicked with our puppy and she seemed to have fun and want to listen and obey our commands. In addition, the "play time" or "recess" was also a learning experience not only for our puppy but for us. We and our puppy learned to play with other dogs and to read their body language they use to say "let's play," "I don't want to play," and even when the dogs let each other know they are playing too rough. After moving back to San Diego from Temecula my husband and I were looking for puppy training for our, at the time, 3 month old Shiba Inu. The Shiba Inu breed is known to be a hard dog to train, so we wanted to start early with professionals who knew what they were doing. There were several things we were looking for, but most importantly trainers that use positive reinforcement training and that would interacted well with our puppy. The same day my trainer Kelly Dies spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me answering all of my questions and explaining what I can expect my boxer puppy to learn. I was very happy with Kelly's daily updates and photos. It's not easy to let your 4 month old puppy go live with someone else for a while. We needed help house training our new 7 month old puppy Poly. Poly worked with Aiyana in our home, we chose the "Reverse" Board and Train Program. Aiyana really exceeded our training expectations. She had an immediate connection with Poly and with us. In addition to the one on one training with Poly she also taught us what we needed to do to train Poly. Oh, and we all learned much much more than just the house training, including a few tricks! Aiyana taught us what we needed to do to train Poly and explained the logic behind the actions with patience. First, I would like to say how sorry I am to hear about that one user's experience with Tracy. I have never worked with her but I have worked with Aimee and she is amazing! As a new resident to the area, my dogs were overwhelmed with the amount of attention they were receiving from people and other dogs. I adopted them from a shelter and they were not socialized properly. Aimee has been so patient and wonderful with them! She always understands the kind of attention and care that they need. When some of the dogs in class are too energetic, she keeps my two dogs in a separate area so that they can socialize with other nervous dogs. Allowing them to be in close proximity to other dogs also allows them to learn not to be so fearful of them. My dogs finished attending puppy kindergarten classes. Nonetheless, we are still using her services! She has given me so much helpful advice. She goes above and beyond to answer any and all of your questions. I have learned not to push them too much, in terms of socialization, and to take small steps. Except for Aimee, I do not trust anybody else with my dogs. She is amazing. I have written one earlier review of Karma Dog Training, giving this outfit my highest possible recommendation and appreciation because they have helped my two dogs and me -- immeasurably and more than my words can possibly express!! We have worked with two of Karma's trainers -- Aimee Burton, who is its head trainer, and Alyssa Lapinel, who often collaborates with Aimee. In my last review, I explained how Aimee has a natural, extraordinary intuition for understanding dogs -- why different dogs act the way they do and even what they are feeling! She can immediatley understand and explain what any given dog is feeling, doing and communicating at any given moment. It as if she has a sixth sense, and, above all, she has a big heart and obviously loves dogs and treats each one as a deserving individual who needs attention, affection, guidance, learning and structure! Aimee often works with another highly skilled professional, Alyssa Lapinel, who has superior dog-handling skills and provides first-rate behavior therepy and training. Alyssa excels at instilling basic obedience, "redirection," and reinforcement of desired behaviors, and she patiently explains to the human caretaker what he or she can do over the long term to provide a nurturing, successful environment for his or her dog. Alyssa is knowledgeable, professional, decent, and exceedingly capable. Together, Aimee and Alyssa offer remarkably helpful dog training and behavior therapy. They help the human caretaker to become a better caretaker, and they have made an incalculable difference in the lives of my two dogs. I really couldn't thank them sufficiently. I was so happy to find Karma Dog Training! I did a lot of research online to look for a puppy class that would involve socialization off leash AND learning basic commands. I saw that this class was highly rated though didn't have a lot of reviews and decided to check it out anyway. I also liked that this program provides the first class free to let you figure out if it's the right class for you and your puppy. I had read in another review that someone commented about the cleanliness of the place - the floors were freshly wiped down and literally squeaky clean (still drying when I arrived a bit early) and everyone was asked to step into a combo of disinfectant and soapy water before walking into the room. I would have felt safe eating off that floor, no joke. There were a couple helpers walking around the room to monitor the interactions between the puppies during playtime and to help with the training during the work time. I also liked the tips sporadically thrown in during the training regarding separation anxiety, positive reinforcement and occasional negative reinforcement (just removing the treat, not punishing them), and grooming. There is about five minutes at the end to calm down your puppy (after all the fun play, work, and treats) with puppy massage, which is to get them used to being handled all the way from their ears to their paws. I really can't recommend this class highly enough. I also enjoyed meeting the other owners there -- all very friendly, responsible, and clearly cared about their pups. read more

I want to preface my review by saying that Amiee who seems to be an amazing trainer was not able to be there the day that we visited. However, as a puppy owner I feel it only fair to share our experience. After loosing our 16 year old lab we purchased a puppy in mid June ( a yellow lab). We contacted Amiee to help get our pup out and meet pups his age as our other dogs were just a bit too much. We were more than happy to make the drive from Alpine to allow our pup who was only nine weeks old to make new friends in a safe environment. According the their website they provide " a state-of-the art indoor training facility featuring climate controlled spacious rooms, the grounds our kept immaculate as they are parvo and distemper disinfected before each class". This was not the case for our visit, not only did I witness several people enter the area without sanitizing their feet but when our pup had an "accident" the floor mess I cleaned up was black and certainly not black from his accident. We looking for a safe place for our pup to make some new friends but were highly disappointed. Not to mention that they have a list of items to bring to class that we spent $30 on and were the ONLY ones who brought the items! Great concept but needs more regulation! read more

I took my puppy, Zoe, to puppy class in Sorrento Valley. I was very impressed with the knowledge and patience of the trainer. Not only did I learn basic obiendience. but also potty training and how to deal with all Zoe's crazy puppy behaviors I learned so much and she really loved playilng with the other puppies in class. I would definitely recommend Aimee and Karma Dog Training with 100 stars, if it were an option!!!!! My experience with them was amazing. My dog Roxy is a beautiful and sweet chocolate lab that I adopted from the El Cajon shelter in December 2010. Right away, my husband and I noticed some behaviour problems that we wanted to address. I found a few training options on Craig's List but as soon as I spoke with Aimee on the phone, I knew that Karma Dog Training was going to be our choice. We first hired Aimee to come to our home and assess our dog's behaviour. Within less than 30 minutes, she had identified a couple of key issues - Roxy was having boundary issues (which I had mistakenly interpreted as separation anxiety) as well as major fear of other dogs (which I had mistakenly interpreted as aggression). Aimee and I then spent the rest of the time working on those issues, and she actually spent about 20 minutes extra with me beyond the time frame that we had hired her for (90 minutes, I believe it was) and make SURE that I understood her training tips fully before she left. She explaned WHY she was doing everything that she was doing, and was extremely reassuring to both my dog and me. She made sure that I had her private cell # and email address to contact her anytime with follow up questions. Once I'd been working with Roxy for a few weeks, I enrolled her in the Basic Obedience class with Aimee, which lasted for 8 or 10 weeks, not sure exactly. Each week we focused on a different command, and we concurrently focused on socialization issues during the class as well. Aimee gave each dog in the class SO much individual attention and encouragement; it is so clear to me that she has 'a way' with animals. All of the dogs just love her! By the end of her training class, Roxy was doing better with her social anxiety but still had a long way to go. Aimee encouraged me not to give up, and helped me to notice key clues in Roxy's behavior so that I could manage her anxiety well enough to help her overcome it. I think that's the best part of Karma Dog Training - they give you the tools to 'do it yourself', not just relying on the trainer to get your dog in line :-) I"m happy to report that Roxy now enjoys going to dog parks and beaches ALL THE TIME- and when we encounter other dogs during our walks around the neighborhood, there's no more worry that she'll panic and start freaking out - she's happily approaching dogs to say 'hi' now, and it's just so rewarding and fulfilling to know that she's no longer afraid. And the fact that she knows all of her other commands - sit, stay, come, on your bed, etc....well, that is certainly all thanks to Aimee as well. This review is for their puppy kindergarten class. I had wanted to get my puppy socialized early on and emailed the address on the website. I got a reply the next day with all the information that I needed and was able to trial a class that weekend for free. So quick and easy! Our pup loved playing with all the other puppies and the trainers Aimee and Diana are great with dogs and super knowledgable. It's amazing how they can manage a roomful of puppies and their owners. The thing I really like about this class is that it feels like a safe place for the puppies to learn and play. Everybody disinfects their shoes in some kind of parvo killer solution before coming into the class so if your puppy isn't fully vaccinated then you don't have to worry. I also liked that if you couldn't make it to a class one of the days, you could make it up one of the other weekends, though we went 8 weekends in a row for consistency's sake. However, because of the flexible schedule sometimes there are a lot of puppies in one class and it can seem a little crowded, but mostly for the owners because I don't think the puppies cared. read more

The instructor (Aimee) was awesome and very knowledgeable about most everything about dogs. Our puppy thoroughly enjoyed socializing with all the other puppies and ofcourse all the treats from training! Aimee gives you the knowledge you need to know to train your dog in a very rewarding way. I would recommend Karma Dog training to anyone who is looking for any kind of training or socialization class for their dog or puppy. I have a Jack Russell that was not very dog friendly, especially with dogs larger than him. After only the first session he was walking the neighborhood with Aimee's wonderful Doberman without even looking twice at her. I was thrilled. By our third session my dog lasted an entire hour at the dog park. I was so happy to see that it was possible for him to make friends with other dogs. Aimee's sessions have provided me the tools, guidance, and support that I needed to create a structured, but loving environment for my dog. Aimee has a wonderful pack of dogs that has been more than helpful in creating a positive association with other dogs for my dog. read more

Karma Dog is awesome! I took my puppy to puppy kindergarten and really appreciate everything we learned. For starters, Karma Dog is competitively priced but they offer a much better value than some of the other puppy classes that I looked into. First, the lessons are 1.5 hours long - many are just an hour. Second, they last for 7 weeks - many are 6 weeks or shorter in duration. Further, the classes are structured such that you can stay late and ask as many questions as you may have - and being a first time puppy owner, I had a lot of questions. Our trainer even took the time to teach us things that weren't part of the plan, like how to train your dog to fetch, to leave the cat alone, to stop biting, etc. Further, Karma dog takes precautions to ensure the safety of the puppies in the class. Some of these include the sanitization of the floor prior to class, the requirement that everyone step into a sanitary solution before entering the class, the request that puppies be carried into class so they don't pick up anything that might be on the pavement outside of class, and the request that puppies are not taken to places like dog park while they are members of the program. This was very comforting for me as I had heard all the horror stories about how easy it is for your puppy to get parvo, etc. Each class begins with play time. All of the lessons are taught in stages, so play time is followed by the first stage in the lesson. Once the first stage has been mastered, the puppies get to take a break for more play. The class continues this way, alternating between play time and the lesson, until class is over and the puppies are worn out. You end up with a happy, sleepy puppy. This is awesome for those of us who have very energetic puppies that never seem to tire. Our trainer was Aimee Burton. She was excellent. Prior to attending her classes, I didn't really think of dog training as a serious endeavor. However, Aimee's professionalism and skill has changed my mind. She knows how to get virtually any dog to do what she wants it to do in a relatively short period of time. For example, she has puppies laying down (something I could not convince my dog to do no matter what I tried!), dropping toys, and ignoring treats on command. It is awesome. Aimee gave me peace of mind that my dog wasn't a hooligan - something that I was starting to believe because of his wild behavior. And after following her advice, I found that she was right! She helped us teach our puppy how to "play nice" with other dogs (which has also translated to playing nice with us). My 3 month old puppy is better trained than many adult dogs that I meet. My name is Enzo and this is my story. When I first came home at 8 weeks it was really exciting. Everything was so new, but I missed my mom and my litter mates so everything was really confusing too. My new mom and dad were really nice to me but but I still felt pretty much on my own and didn't know where I fit in my new pack. After that first week I got to go to kindergarten and meet some really cool friends. I'm pretty big and sometimes the other dogs don't know if they want to play with me or not but my teacher, Aimee, knew just how to handle it so that everyone got to know each other and we all got to play and fool around, just like I was back with my brothers and sisters. No one got scared and everyone had the best time. We even learned how to do things like the grown-up dogs do; I could sit, stay, lie down and even, believe it or not "leave it". Aimee never got mad or threw things at us, she just kept telling my mom to be positive and give me treats for a reward when i did what i was supposed to, and it made it so easy to be good, like taking candy from a baby, but we learned that we should never do that either. When I graduated from kindergarten and got to go to first grade, we even learned more things. I could tell I really needed to pay attention because we didn't really play around like before, there was so much to learn. It was still fun to be with all the other dogs though, I could see they all wanted to do a good job too, plus the treats didn't hurt. I'm still in school (my mom says I'm a slow learner) but I also heard her tell Aimee she didn't know who needed training more, me or her! I love Aimee and my mom told me if I'm really good I might get to go over for a sleepover at her house. I bet she's got more treats than even I could eat! read more

Our Yellow Lab Kenny just finished his last Puppy Kindergarten class with Karma Dog Training and we couldn't be happier with the results. We are hoping to get him into Karma's "Puppy Elementary School" class shortly. Aimee is wonderful to work with. Even though each class had anywhere between about 6 and 12 puppies in it each week, she managed to give everyone the individual attention they needed. She was also willing to stay after class to answer tons of specific questions we had-- Kenny is our first dog and my husband and I are a bit neurotic about him. We learned all the basic commands and after 7 weeks of the class, Kenny has proven to be a well-socialized perfect little gentleman. Everywhere we go, people comment on how well behaved he is. The class was fun for Kenny and fun for us too (who wouldn't want to hang out in a room filled with adorable puppies?) I would recommend Karma Dog Training to anyone with a new puppy. read more
