I recently noticed Karma while on my way to Office Depot to pick up an order. On my way out I saw that they'd done the printing for Karma's menus and business cards. I decided to grab one of the menus. I took a look and everything sounded appetizing. It was also a number of different dishes I hadn't seen on any other Indian restaurant menu. I decided to give them a try. I ordered take out. When I went in to pick up my food I was delighted by the decor. It's fun. The person who brought out my order was friendly. My party got several items on the menu: Malai Kofta, an assortment of breads and desserts, and the Chicken 65 Biryani. Everything was fantastic. The following week I saw that Karma was on TooGoodToGo as well. I couldn't pass up Karma suprise. The food was once again fantastic. The only thing I would change about the TooGoodToGo order would've been a little more variety in the dishes. What I got was great though. This place should be full whenever they are open. So good! Karma Indian Restaurant is a really solid Indian experience at a reasonable price in the Baymeadows area. I recently visited for a Too Good to Go box. The staff was transitioning from their lunch buffet to dinner service, was very friendly, and let me take in the beautiful interior. I was told how the owner did some of the fine details. When you get a Too Good to Go box, the selections are made for you. I can tell you everything I had was good and they were very generous in what they offered. The rice and the curries were really nice. I also think it's great they partner with Too Good to Go to avoid food waste. I'll be back for the whole experience but if you're looking for a great, reasonable lunch spot with really good food, you can't miss with Karma. read more

I had pasted by Karma i few times since I work in the area but I had never been there. I saw them show up on the TooGoodToGo app and figure it would be a great lunch to pick up on my way back from the office. I walked in and really liked the decor and the staff was very friendly. I told them I had an order on TooGoodToGo and they loaded me up a box from the buffet. I didn't know they had one which is nice because I always love trying new Indian dishes I haven't had a want a better way to do it. They loaded up my box with 2 differ types of rice, Naan Bread and a believe what looked like a type of fried bread. I also got too different types of Curries. I believe one was Korma Paneer and the other maybe Chicken Vindaloo, next time all ask what each are to be sure. Both were good but the Vindaloo was great and for $6.99 you can't beat the price for the amount of food you are getting. Me and a friend are making our way down Baymeadows road trying places we haven't ever been! So this was dinner one night, walking up they have this beautiful mural outside, this place has been a few different Indian restaurants but this time is the prettiest I have seen, outside and inside, dark and moody and music, really cool inside! We get a table and start to order we think our server couldn't hear us maybe cause I think we got different things then we ordered but hey we just ate them, lol! Everything we tried was very good, but definitely seemed like some miscommunication with our server, like we asked for mild on a dish and it came out so spicy. I will admit, I still have yet to sit in this darling space and enjoy a meal. This gorgeous restaurant has staff that is attentive, efficient and friendly. I often stop in to grab a quick dinner before they close during the week. We picked up a Too Good Too Go order for lunch on a Saturday. Honestly, we were looking to try something new when this popped up on the app so we jumped on it. My husband and I both love Indian food, but we also haven't tried a ton of different dishes because we usually just stick to what we already love. I really enjoyed being able to try a couple of new dishes and each one was delicious. I am not 100% sure what each dish was but my best guess is we got chicken, tikka masala and paneer korma. We also got some kind of rice and naan. Seriously every thing that came in my to go container was so good and I would absolutely go back and order again. Nothing was overly spicy, which I would've loved some spice, but all the food comes from their buffet, and I have to guess a buffet doesn't have insanely spicy foods on it or at least not many spicy foods on it. Now let's talk about the interior of the restaurant. It is outstanding! The decorations are so picture perfect as in every single inch of the restaurant is Instagram worthy! They also had a really beautiful event space that would be perfect for like a bridal shower or a rehearsal dinner. I feel like I can never go wrong with an Indian restaurant. We were greeted and seated as soon as we stepped in the door. . We thought it was going to be crowded, there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. No one was there. But soon heard the party of people in the back. It wasn't loud, but you know they were there. From my little experience with Indian buffets, they usually are not that big, like what most buffets we see. But enough variety for everyone. Our waitress was really nice. a lot of stuff I didn't know what it was. we asked someone about the vegetarian options. And he told us where the meat options start. They had a small salad as well, again, not sure what the sauces were, so I just went with the white creamy sauce. They had Curry paneer and Just found out the green one was Spinach paneer, Cauliflower, 3 rice options and not sure what the other items were. My favorite dish here is the Cauliflower dish, let me tell you..... If you don't tell them they wouldn't know it was cauliflower. It had so much flavor and it didn't look like cauliflower either. The salad was good, I did like the sauce I put on it, with the pickled onions. The Paneers were really good, I prefer the curry paneer. And I loved the flavored rice choices they had. The desert table.....Again, I have no clue what a lot of stuff was on it. I only tried the vermicelli pudding, it was only a little sweet, it was good, but nothing like I ever had before. So what was funny they had these balls. I didn't know what to do with it . I was just going to bite into it. I asked our waitress, and she said to punch a hole in it. As I was doing it, she wanted to assist me....With her finger lol I had to tell her not to touch my ball. Your suppose to fill it with something on the table (not sure what that was) and the liquid that was on the table. I decided to just fill it with the liquid. Karma's lunch buffet is amazing quality and deal ($15.99). We have tried other Indian lunch buffets and this one has a great variety during lunch time. A lot of vegetarian and meat options. My husband loved the goat curry and the chicken biryani! I love the 95 chicken and all of the paneer dishes! The inside is so clean and beautifully decorated. Just had dinner at Karma last weekend and I have to say, this place is absolutley incredible! For those who don't know, this used to be Minerva restaurant but they recently rebranded. Same owner, same amazing quality though - just a new name. First of all, the decor is hands down the best I've seen in Jacksonville. Like seriously, I've been to alot of upscale places around town but nothing compares to the ambiance here. The lighting, the artwork, the whole vibe - its just perfect for date night or even a special celebration with friends. The food was outstanding. We ordered the butter chicken and Goat Biryani and both were cooked to perfection. You can really tell they use fresh ingredients and the presentation was beautiful. My wife got the naan and chicken curry and she couldn't stop raving about it. What really made the night special was the owner himself. He actually came by our table to check on us and chat for a bit. Super friendly guy, very passionate about the restaurant and making sure everyone has a great experience. You dont see that kind of personal touch much anymore, so it really stood out. We'll definately be back soon! If you haven't tried Karma yet (or if you loved Minerva back in the day), you need to check this place out. We went for a dinner buffet. It seems like they were short staffed as it took a few minutes to be acknowledged. The buffet seemed lack luster but perhaps we were there on the tail end of the lunch serving. The mango lassi tasted sour. We were a little confused by a recent change of name as it seems they are moving away from the Minerva name. We were told that the ownership is the same. Christmas night driving home after visiting the Beauclerc Christmas lights my daughter suddenly shouted she had to use the bathroom. We pulled into the first restaurant that we saw open which happened to be Karma Fine Indian Cuisine and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant was beautiful and the service was very friendly and helpful. We started with the bread basket (an assortment of nann and rotti) and their Parkora Platter (a sampler with samosa, aloo tikka, paneer pakora, stuffed chili, and mixed veg pakora). We had Indian chai tea, their Paan Mojito (kind of an earthy gin like liqueur) and a super large and strong Haywards Beer. For dinner my wife got the butter chicken and I got the chicken 65. Both were very flavorful. The owner came by to talk to us and obviously cares about his restaurants. We live at the beach and look forward to visiting their other location in Jax Beach. read more

They have menu items as well, but take some common items and make them in bulk. Best chicken tikka I've had thus far! Dinner was a bit pricey at least for the portions you get on the to-go order. A to-go order of tikka masala chicken, coconut curry chicken, and two orders of naan came out to almost with tip almost $60 for two cups of sauce and a to-go box full of rice. That being said the food was very tasty absolutely no issues there. And if the quality of the food for the lunch buffet is on par with the dinner then I feel like the lunch buffet for $15 to $18 is the way to go here. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time while traveling through Jacksonville and I must say I really liked it. We made reservations and were seated right away. The ambiance is very nice and our server was very sweet. The service was quick and the food was delicious. We ordered chicken dum Briyani, vegetable jalfrezi, and mysore dosa with Rasam. We arrived here on Sunday at 12:30. We're not big buffet people because we typically don't eat a lot of food or sit down for extended period of times to eat. But Indian buffets are not something you normally see. The insides was Indian themed and it was a very nice cozy atmosphere We were sat immediately and brought water and we were told to we could start the buffet. We walked down the line once first to see everything they had. They had fried cauliflower, a couple of soups, egg masala, butter chicken, tandoori, goat curry, a chicken and pepper dish and several different rice , cheese dishes and a lentil. I'm going to say we tried a little bit of all of the meats and I tried the spinach paneer. Mine and my husband's food was barely warmer than room temperature and there was hardly any chicken in the butter chicken and the goat curry was primarily bone with no meat on it. I had three pieces of bones and only one piece had meat on it. All of the dishes that had sauce was more sauce than meat or vegetables or beans. They had a couple of desserts and then a couple of other things that I'm not sure what they were, but we did not try them A gentleman came out and asked if we had any questions and I was asking him what a few of the things were and he's telling me what they were in English and I suggest that he put the English name underneath so people know what it was and he replied that most people know what they are . One of the items was "baingan"and that's eggplant. Sorry I did not know that was eggplant and I probably would've tried it. Had I have known what it was. $38 for two plates of food and we only had one plate of food that was mostly sauce and bones. We did not get a second plate. I feel it is a bit expensive unless you're going to sit down and make several trips or you are a big eater Based on the fact that the food was not hot and it was more sauce and bones, then meat, vegetables, beans, etc. I most likely will not be back. read more

Back at the place that I dream about when I go home. This place has made some changes since the last time I came... it's now very cute on the inside, with some plush chairs. With a cute sitting area. My waiter was amazing. I ended up trying a few new things like the mango lassi, it was different from something I would normally drink but I liked it. My cousin ordered some appetizers I'm not sure of the name but I know it was like fried cauliflower and it was soo good. I loved the sauce they put on it, it had the perfect amount of spice. She also ordered a bread basket that came with, roti, garlic naan, onion naan, and I believe buttered naan. I ended up getting butter chicken and garlic naan.. my only let down was the temperature of some of the stuff like my garlic naan came luke warm and I didn't really taste the garlic this go around. But on a brighter note I'm telling you this is the best butter chicken ever. It came out piping hot they way I like my food and the spice level I got was hot so it had the right amount of heat for me. I had a mid week day off work, and my wife wanted to go to lunch. Normally my wife wants me to watch the kids, why she goes to lunch. So I guess I should be honored that she wanted me to go to lunch and of course pay for lunch:-) I wasn't sure what to expect it. Minerva, it had been several other restaurants all of them serving Indian cuisine. At one time it was so well-known that people were flying in from other states just a sample of food here. It did not survive the outstanding service and the quality food remained. First off the menu is huge, and if you are vegan or just enjoy vegetarian food, they have pages of things that you will enjoy. The ambience is nice, I wouldn't say romantic, but perfect for Business lunch or even a family lunch. In fact, we ended up meeting somebody and talking to them while we were in the restaurant, which continued outside. It has that kind of atmosphere.. Before I tell you about the food, I want to reiterate that service was outstanding. Our server was intent on getting our food correctly and when food was served they took time to explain what each dish was. The food: Naan - I chose a non-bread that had pistachio and other nuts in it. I've seen it on menus before, but I've never tried it and this was really tasty. My wife got her own with her meal, so thankfully, I didn't have to share. Saag Paneer- love paneer and saag paneer especially because it has flavorful spinach mixed with the cheese. I never really gave much thought to what paneer cheese was, and our waiter told us it was made from bison milk, since cows are sacred in the Indian culture. I really didn't know that. King Thali - my wife had one of the specials, and it came with non-bread, chicken, and a whole bunch of sauces to partake. I have to admit I was envious, as her food just looked like it was more fun than mine was. Mine was good granted, but she kept saying oh taste in this, oh my gosh, she just had so much fun. I love coming here on the weekends for the lunch buffet! They have a large selection of both vegetarian and nonvegetarian dishes, along with deserts. The restaurant is clean and the staff is nice. The only negative thing I've experienced is coming on a weekday (not lunch buffet) and ordering a dish Indian spicy, but it was not spicy at all. All in all, they're 5/5 though. Glad to hear that the restaurant opened up their lunch buffet on the weekends (Fridays to Sundays from 12-3 I think). Met up with a Yelp buddy and we arrived right at 12 to ensure we got a table. The interior was spacious and had a venue room as well. Great "Namaste" decor at the entrance. We were seated near the back of the room and waited. The host or server didn't ask us if we wanted a beverage and sat there for awhile before someone saw we didn't have any water. All the other tables were served their water, but it seems we were skipped. The buffet opened and the place filled up quick. We were excited and waited patiently in line. So many different options (10+) of Indian foods. I believe they rotate their menus weekly so you get something different. I got a little bit of everything. I really liked the desserts and Indian coffee. Overall, I like it but felt the flavor of the Tikka Masala could've been better with more seasoning or spices. I thought it was slightly bland or many it was a combo of all the other foods. Additionally, they made a mistake on labeling one stating it was chicken, but really it was served fish. Minerva was recommended to me by a couple colleagues who emigrated from India, and I've been pleased with every visit. I come for the buffet; typically I go on Fridays but sometimes the weekend. The Friday buffet is smaller by a half-dozen or so offerings, but it's also less crowded. Vegetarian options are plentiful, and the soups really stand out to me. The naan is always great, and I'm a fan of all the pakora varieties they've served. Staff are friendly, and the ambiance is quite lovely, with lots of greenery around the restaurant. A few times, I was encouraged to pay with cash, but paying with a card was accepted (thankfully, as I don't carry cash). Overall, the Minerva buffet satisfies cravings every time. read more

TVs around the place, very small bar area, but lots of plants and lights for decorations. For our first time, we ordered the usual garlic naan, tiki marsala, and we opted for the Minerva chicken pulao. Obviously, the naan was AMAZING! The tiki was great! The Minerva chicken pulao was good, but as a first-time eater of the biryani rice dishes....I felt there was way too much rice and not enough chicken.
