I came here to celebrate a birthday for family members that keep kosher. I've been to a few kosher restaurants before so I understand the experience can be different. I was torn when giving an overall grade and I will explain why. I really hope the management and owners takes my comments as constructive criticism so the can improve. I read many of the reviews and unfortunately one topic kept coming up, that was that the manager was rude. Let me tell my story and you can judge for yourself. We had a reservation on a Sunday afternoon and when we walked in there was only one other table being occupied. This is a Hibachi Restaurant with family style seating. We were a party of 4 adults 3 children and a 1 year old baby.Instead of asking where we wanted to sit they stick us in a corner by a wall and worse by the swinging doors to the kitchen. After a few minutes we asked to be moved and the manager said the other table was for a "reservation". Isn't that what we had? I spoke to him and he agreed to move us. The food was good, no complaints about that. Prices, well kosher is more although I thought it was overpriced. $3 for a can of soda, $59 for rack of lamb the the size and quality you would pay half that for a better cut and appearance in a non kosher place. The price of $49 for prime rib eye was not the issue, the portion size and that it's cut up into tiny pieces is like taking a quality whiskey and then mixing it with soda or water. LIKES: I do not like to refer to people by race or religion so I apologize that I did not have names and used the following as descriptions. The Asian staff was nice, our preparer Kason made the experience fun for everyone including the children. There appeared to be a manager who was Asian and an Orthodox Jewish man who was either a manager or owner. The Asian guy was very accommodating and came over to make sure everything was good. The other man was not nice, more later. The waiters offered to take photos of the birthday,we did not have to ask. They kept the water glasses filled. DISLIKES: The Orthodox Jewish man was RUDE!! Besides the seating issue after spending almost $600 and being there 2 hours he came over and said "WE NEED THE TABLE, WE HAVE ANOTHER PARTY COMIMG IN" That was very sad as we were getting ready to leave anyway. He never came over to see how things were, when he brought over dishes we asked what the dish was at it could have been a number of dishes ordered and he had no idea??WHAT?? They rushed the process, we ordered a lot of appetizers and the cook was sent over immediately. We had to send him away until we were ready. I understand the COVID-19 pandemic limited seating capacity etc. 1. We were never told there was a time limit. 2. You would never know there were COVID issues. NO SOCIAL DISTANCING, everyone was on top of each other. No signage, no sanitizer available, no mask enforcement other than the staff wearing a mask. The place was HOT! no AC or air circulation even after we mentioned it. I would not go back for the one thing I hate most. They put a service charge on which they do not state the percentage or what it's for and still leave a tip line. I'm a good tipper and would have gone more. I decided to not leave anything additional because of the treatment. There were some good moments although I would not recommend them. It appears it's been like this for years so I hope they will read this review and try to change.

I highly recommend this hibachi restaurant. I came with a large group and everyone had an amazing time. The food was perfect, and the service was stellar. Victor made a fire show that had everyone in our party laughing.

Had an incredible time at the Coney Island location. The food was spectacular , service outstanding, and the ambiance was fun and inviting. Great music too. We went for a birthday party with 12 of us from Texas. Our second time there in a year. A big thank you to Victor who mentioned the lemon meringue was good, thank you for that, it was outstanding.

The greeter was fantastic. The food was good. The chef was mediocre. He seamed to be making fun of the people sitting at the table. The prices where what to be expected at a Kosher establishment. The chef flings food at the patrons to catch in the mouth. This Chef made sure to make it so difficult to to catch it and then laughed. So when he handed the torch to us to hold while he cleaned the griddle one of us did a basic fire eating trick. After that he was down right rude. Its a shame because the food was good

Decided it was time to finally write a review considering my recent experience at Kasai this past motzei shabbos. Coming motzei shabbos is an extremely great idea since you can get right in! There were two tables in front of us waiting for the hibachi chef so it took a little longer then expected, but I did not notice due to my company. Yet, our amazing waiter Jason felt bad we were waiting even though we did not mind, he brought us a complementary appetizer (which I have pictured below!) The hibachi at Kasai is always delicious; a bit pricey which is why I gave it four stars instead of five, but it is kosher so it is to be expected. The hibachi chefs always keep you entertained and a plus is they offer you free saki during the "performance". If you come to Kasai; I recommend requesting Jason to be your waiter and splurging on a bottle of saki!

Both orders were delivery but everything we ordered was cooked fast, packed extremely carefully and all dishes arrived piping hot and tasting incredibly fresh and delicious. Portions are big enough to share, food is full of flavor, seasoned superbly and obviously made from premium quality ingredients. Mushroom & Cheese stuffed baked potato is definitely 1 of the ultimate comfort foods for many and The Bay Cafe's version was a true perfection with lots of yummy melted cheese, great tasting mushrooms mixed in with scooped potatoes insides. 10 out of 10 for sure! Beets & Quinoa salad was an excellent combo of different fresh veggies, nuts, fruits and feta cheese, resulting in a fabulous mix of sweet and savory plus adding a raspberry vinaigrette as a dressing brought it all to a very satisfying explosion of flavor. Definitely a Must Get Salad! Another 10 out of 10. Lastly we got Maryland style Crab Cakes, made with imitation crab meat but it didn't diminish the taste at all. This dish comes with 2 large pieces of Crab Cakes, served on a bed of fresh arugula and lots of cherry tomatoes with a side of delectable homemade tartar sauce. Crab Cakes were crunchy outside, juicy and tender inside, had a unique taste and was truly amazing. All in all-very satisfying experience, would love to try more dishes from their vast menu and dine there in person.

I enjoyed every bite! There's nothing like some fresh clams to get the meal started. Of course, I couldn't come to Nathan's without getting a classic hot dog! I ordered mine nice and HOT, topped with sauerkraut, sautéed onions, and mustard. The combination was perfect--the hot dog was flavorful, the sauerkraut gave it that little tang, and those sautéed onions brought everything together. I also ordered a side of Nathan's famous French fries because, come on...you can't get the hot dog and skip the fries! Everything was washed down with a refreshing lemonade, which was the perfect drink to complete the meal. And before anybody starts judging my order...NO, I didn't eat all of this by myself! I had company, LOL! Nathan's is one of those classic spots where you already know what you came for, and it always hits the spot. The clams were fresh, the hot dog was on point, the fries hit the spot, and the lemonade completed the meal. Always a HIT at Nathan's! I left full, satisfied, and happy. I'll definitely be back because when that Nathan's craving hits, you just have to answer it!

In short, not all hot dogs are the same so I don't think you'll regret overcoming the $6.49 sticker shock at Nathan's. Who knows if it's a secret metallic component in the pan or the salt air but the dogs are different here. Get the grilled onions. The hot and spicy dog wasn't much different than the normal one. As with Ripper's in Rockaway, I give an extra star for public service. At Nathan's that means bathrooms that are cleaned often, helping address a severe imbalance in the neighborhood's crowd-to-bathroom ratio.

Food was okay - I was left unimpressed and still hungry as it was mostly bones - a bit disappointing at a price for over $30 which is more than enough for one person to spend during lunch for himself without a drink. At least the pita bread was good - even though it's Israeli-style instead of Syrian. This Mizrahi (Syrian) Jewish Glatt kosher establishment is unique in New York, so I wanted to try it - but the offerings were a bit skimpy and bland for the price. Lamb spare ribs should come with a side, but none came. And I wasn't asked if I wanted any. Service is an additional issue here. When I went to the bathroom and then left, one worker immediately rushed into the bathroom only to... turn off the lights. Felt a little stingy, especially when the prices of the menu are a bit high for what it is. Had to call someone over multiple times. It's a family-and-friend business and they're often chatting with each other more than with the customers, so I think they're lacking somewhat in the hospitality front. There's a lot of restaurants around and until they seriously start showing what true Middle Eastern hospitality is like to differentiate their restaurant from others, I don't think they're going to do well in the long term. Maybe they've strayed too far from their Syrian roots.
