The first time I ate here, I enjoyed my meal and experience so much but had delayed in writing my review so the only thing I could recall was the filet mignon appetizer, knowing I wanted this again SO MUCH I was happy to return and guess what. Confused it with another item and ordered that instead! Hahahahaha! Literally the thing I wanted THE most. I didn't get. Typical me. On this visit I ordered the American dream sushi roll which was delicious and I highly recommend. My second roll was the New Tuna roll, I asked for no sriracha sauce and to add caviar. I put some of the plentiful caviar on the American dream and that was a thumbs up. My friend had the Chilean sea bass and OMG wowwwwwwww They could do with out the fried tofu on the side tho For the appetizer I *thought * was the filet mignon we ordered Filet Mignon carpaccio when I meant Petite Filet mignon it was really good. Really. But i was dying for the other. Next time! The staff is truly sweet. Service was better in November, but by no means we're we upset or disappointed, just needed some reminding about water and soy sauce. Sigh.....I really want to give them a better review because I have ordered takeout from here previously. But today, don't know what happened but first the driver delivered my order to the wrong address. Then I had to call 3 times before I could reach them on the phone to tell them that the picture taken of the drop off was not my house. The driver says "oh I did that". Once I finally did get my food the shrimp tempura roll was disgusting. The shrimp tasted stale and old, it was inedible and was just thrown together in the tray. I am only vouching for this location because I eat here a few times a month. I am a raw fish lover and I know top tier when I taste it. Kashi is consistent and their value is spot on. The lunch specials are such a deal if you're on a budget. Their points system makes you feel all kinds of good (yes you get great discounts from being a repeat customer). Their staff is warm and welcoming... I love love love having NYC quality sushi two blocks from my house. I thank the universe frequently because of how happy their sushi makes me. I have a love affair with the Chirashi. $28 for 18 pieces of the GOOD stuff on a bed of PERFECTLY SEASONED sushi rice. Can't make me happier than that. They have a special roll called Wasabi Lobster and they dare to put truffle and micro cilantro on top, the nerve! It's so EFFING GOOD. Mind you it's a $20 roll but it's super unique and creamy seafood earthiness with just enough crunch. I have to mention the COOKED salmon entree! My friend and I really enjoy sushi. We've been to the Kashi in RVC before and loved it. Being that we live locally, we couldn't wait till this one opened. Reading the few previous reviews made me upset because they literally just opened within the past month, of course it's going to take some time to learn the computer/menu/etc. Our waiter tonight was very friendly and informative of the menu. He clarified what we were ordering, which I appreciated so there was no confusion. We started with drinks...I ordered a French Martini (which was very weak and not made correctly but I didn't say anything.) For a $10 beverage, you should taste the alcohol. And being its a Tuesday night, not too busy, the bartender should make sure their drinks come out perfectly so they continue to come back as potential regulars for that day. Just a suggestion since I just tasted the pineapple juice, unfortunately. And my friend ordered a red wine Cabernet, said it was good. Then We shared the Shrimp Shumai as an app ($5). Very tasty and the dipping sauce was different from what I've had, loved it. For meals...I ordered the American Dream (added spicy mayo, $14) and a Shrimp Avocado roll ($5). Waiter made sure that steamed shrimp was ok for me. Yum!!! Friend ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with an upgrade to fried rice ($17+$3 upgrade.) She enjoyed hers as well. We ordered another round of drinks but this time I ordered a Chardonnay instead of my Martini. Waiter went MIA for a little towards the end. Seemed that they were all trying to close down the restaurant and put all menus and table mats away. No problem since we were enjoying each other's company but we probably could've paid 10 minutes earlier if he came back. Bill came to about $84 plus tip. I placed a phone order during the pandemic for take out and I'm glad I did! We had to wait longer than expected but it was ok. I definitely enjoyed everything we got - especially the sauces that accompany the rolls (so good). They don't just give you soy sauce like other places. We had the shrimp gyoza as an appetizer, which came with a gaucomole-ish side (strange)- but the gyoza was great! We also got the yaki toro and Kashi king rolls. They were both really good. Do NOT Uber or door dash with them. When I used them a week ago, they do not use Uber drivers, they use their own delivery drivers so you're not able to get any updates from them on your food. I also thought there were hibachi tables but there was not. Food - yes!!! Everything was amazing. There was not a grain of rice left. True story. The waitress laughed every time she cleaned the plates. The staff was very pleasant and it was Valentine's Day. They do have valet so that is always nice. Everything ordered was delicious. This restaurant is located right on Merrick Road in Bellmore, New York. It is set back from Merrick Road in a small shopping center. It has a parking lot it shares with the other shoppes. They also have a valet attendente at this location. Parking can be tough at prime dinner time but later in the night it opens up pretty good. They have a well lit blue sign on a brick look tan stone facade. They have lounge seating outside too. Their guest was a seasonal skeleton lol. They even have their logo on the walkway projected on the floor. In the vestibule they have a witch animation to greet you for the upcoming Halloween. Right when you walk in you have the hostess table. To the side of that you have the bar with some seating and a couple of big booths. The bar has tv's too. On the other side of the wall is a dining room with a sushi bar. The whole interior is very modern with great lighting and decor. A lot of decorations for Halloween. The food was really good and so were the drinks. They have the best flavors around and the high prices to go with them haha. The atmosphere is great with energetic music and an energetic staff. The staff does get you confused some times as you have a different person come by your table each time. Overall, it's a great date night so try it out. read more

Outdoor dining during COVID was not a bad experience. Kashi always gives decent size portions and their hibachi is always a go-to meal for me. With outdoor dining, the tables were well placed so it doesn't feel like you're on top of each other. I really like the fact that Kashi has the loyalty system which allows you to get money off your bill when you obtain a certain amount of points. Unlike some outdoor dining, the staff was attentive and didn't leave too much time to pass to address anything we needed. read more

Had one of the worst experiences with a waitress today. Her name was Jean. There's usually a service tip included within the bill every time we go. We're frequent customers. We love the place. She was absolutely horrific. Did the absolute bare minimum and then when we payed for the bill, we walked outside and she followed us. SCREAMED AT US "I don't work for free, you forgot your tip"!!! I'm horrified. It's illegal to force a tip out of any customers. Obviously we tipped her but it was out of absolute shock. She forced a tip out of us and that is never ok. read more

We recently moved into the area and asked a neighbor to recommend a good local sushi place. She immediately said Kashi. From the moment you step into Kashi, you see it is not like the rest. It is very modern and cool. Round booths and very chic decor. The staff is great. Friendly and helpful with answers to any questions you throw out at them. The menu is great. All the typical Japanese dishes and then there are a ton of rolls. Very unique and soooo delicious. I had the sushi/sashimi combo. The fish taste like it just came off the boat. Super fresh. The salmon was not fishy. It was buttery and smooth. Everything was wonderful. My kids had fried tofu and they loved it. Looking forward to going back and trying other dishes. I went there ! ...... At lunchtime and was one of about 10 patrons and at minimum 30 staff members. It was quite odd that service was so extremely poor. To add insult to injury so were most of the items ordered for lunch EXCEPT for the Winter Truffle White Tuna, which was spectacular in taste. Again with such little patrons and enough staff our table remained unclean and also our sushi meal was left on the counter for what seemed over 8 mins before anyone thought to bring it over to us without being motioned by us for our order. Stopped here out of convenience, and got blown away. The aura inside the place is down tempo and chill, perfect for relaxing, a business meeting, or a romantic dinner for two. The smells from the kitchen fuel your palette, you literally just want to order everything on the menu. Tuna pringle appetizer was a surprisingly perfect blend of sweet and salty in a tuna appetizer. The miso soup had actual flavor, most places get miso so wrong, but not here. The kashi roll was perfectly rolled, cut, and prepared. And the surf and turf was phenomenal. The lobster was fresher than gulf coast florida lobster, and the steak was so tender and cooked perfectly. You have to try this place if you haven't yet. The place is very nice on the inside and I actually felt underdressed in a tshirt and jeans, but luckily I went mid day and some other diners were wearing the same thing. Service was fast and very friendly the entire time. Got a trio of spicy rolls to start, tuna, salmon and crab. All were tasty, but not anything out of the ordinary. The steak hibachi ($21) comes with brown rice or for $3 more fried rice, and no noodles. Also, no soup or salad to start like most hibachi places. I really liked how many of them are paired with a unique sauce (think coconut mango to go with tuna, or a sriracha teriyaki to compliment the lobster). My only small note about this location is that it's lacking the real "lounge" vibe of their sister Syosset location. The restaurant half of this place is bland and too bright for a late Saturday night dinner. Went on a Thursday night for dinner with my boyfriend and his parents. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. The atmosphere is nice (great for a date night) and they have a full bar that you can sit at as well. This was my first time at this location. I have been to the Kashi in RVC before and sat at the Hibachi table which is fun. This location does not have Hibachi so if that is what you are looking for do not go to this location! We ordered the beef negimaki appetizer and edamame to start. Both were delicious! For our entrees we ordered the basil chicken, American dream roll, the seafood paella, and the Angus Steak Teriyaki. Everyone enjoyed everything! I shared the basil chicken and the American dream roll with my boyfriend and I absolutely loved the basil chicken entrée. It had all the right flavors and I was glad I decided to try something new then I normally get. The American Dream Roll was also tasty. It had Rock shrimp tempura inside, topped with spicy lobster and kani, spicy mango sauce. I would definitely get it again. To finish our meal, we had the friend ice cream and it was amazing (how could it not be... ice cream and fried dough!) We arrived after 8pm and there was a 15 minute wait. I was so surprised. I've never been to a sushi place with a wait time on a weekday. I was quite impressed. The wait went quickly and we sat down. The service is always excellent. There are so many different people who help you during your meal, not only your given waiter or waitress. Everyone helps each other out and our glasses were never empty. The duck roll appetizer was fantastic. The gyoza are also quite delicious. My favorite item on the menu is the cracked lobster roll. It has sweet potato tempura inside and is topped with lobster salad and it is delicious. They also have the freshest sushi and sashimi I've ever had. Their scallop changed my life! Two sushi lovers looking for our next favorite spot in the bellmore-merrick area now that our beloved "Yukis" has closed. Just finished the 4 rolls + edamame that we ordered for take out. Let me just say. YUM. First off, it irriates me that people give such low stars because of the service, not even the food. This place has been open literally a month. Give them a break. And, if I read correctly, you ALL said the food was delicious. So, throw them a bone. That being said, here's my review. We ordered takeout as our usual Friday night game plan. Heard about kashi from RVC. Super excited it's here in merrick. Perfect location. Looks beautiful inside. Very sleek and boutiquey. The women were very friendly. There is also valet which should be noted. Onto the food: The Edamame was good. Nothing notable. It's edamame. A nice portion. What happened to restaurants salting your edamame? Anyway. The rolls we ordered in order from least favorite (not really least. They were all delicious. But still). To favorite. Also note: because we ordered out I THINK they put all the sauces on the side, I'm not sure if they do that in the restaurant too. At first I was skeptical of it. But in the end, I love the idea. Let us put as much or as little of the sauce on that we liked. These rolls are ARE about the sauces. The Kashiking: my issue here was a) is was be most expensive one at $16. And b) it only had 6 pieces as compared to everything else which had 8. This roll was made in the sideways style, with the fish on the top. So it also makes for that awkward manipulation of the roll with the chopsticks. The best part about this roll? The Thai-chili sauce. Delicious. American Dream: probably my favorite sauce. It has a spicy mango sauce. Awesome. Cracked lobster: awesome combo with the sweet potato tempura and lobster. Also delicious garlic mango sauce. Angry Dragon: ridiculous orange edamame sauce. Never would I pair those two flavors. And the shrimp tempura with the spicy Kani on top? Epic. In conclusion. Go. Don't listen to the two reviews complaining about service.
