Sushi was creative and excellent. Staff couldn't be kinder. The renovation came out great. Modern vibe. Intimate space. Ideal for adults dinner on Friday and Saturdays. I recommend sitting at the bar and ordering omakase.

Decided to give the full 18 courses Omakasa experience a try. Very glad I did. It is a much different experience than eating sushi with the traditional soy sauce, ginger and wasabi condiments. The chef will prepare something that compliments the flavor of the fish that the traditional condiments can't match. Wish I had recorded everything James had explained about each course. Posting pictures of a few courses doesn't do the experience justice. I recommend giving the Omakasa a try perhaps when you have something special to celebrate.

Sushi Ko opened their new location and I think maybe the focus on the new chic aesthetic caused the food to get overlooked. There's plenty of sushi places in the area but of course I wanted to try the new spot especially when it's giving an upscale vibe. The sashimi is very thin compared to most I've had which felt stingy. The chicken lettuce wraps were mostly veggies and came with oil and vinegar rather than hoisin. Even the carrot ginger dressing that came with the salad was kind of off. The black rice is good and the green dragon yellowtail roll was just mid, but that was about it. Maybe they're getting their footing or perhaps it is different dinning in(I got takeout) because it seems that people liked the previous location

Wow. We have been waiting for Sushi Ko to reopen for months. It was the best sushi around. It was worth the wait! The new place, while smaller is absolutely gorgeous. Clean lines and the perfect lighting. Felt like in a Michelin star restaurant in Manhattan and not on Merrick Ave in Merrick. The food is just as good if not better than we remembered. Started with their take on roast pork buns. Light, fluffy buns with perfectly cooked pork and hoisin. Awesome. We had the pork gyoza which were crispy and packed with flavorful pork. The seaweed salad was delicious with the right amount of spice. For dinner, my daughter was thrilled. She ordered the Maki combo which is all the rolls she usually gets. She loved it. My wife had the miso ramen. She loved it. Super flavorful broth, chewy noodles and tons of vegetables (she asked for no meat). My son had a few rolls and some tamago which he loved and I had the sushi/sashimi combo. It was fantastic. Probably the best octopus I have had in a sushi restaurant. It was super tender, not chewy at all and great flavor. It was so nice seeing the restaurant so busy. The owners are wonderful people with children in the local school district. These are the types of places I like to support. It doesn't hurt that the food is the best! Can't wait to return.

Outstanding! Fresh sushi and one of the top sushi spots in Merrick/Bellmore area. Overall ambiance has limitations and dates but service top notch with creative, flavorful and fresh sushi rolls. Will definitely visit again as this has become gold standard for sushi in this area.

While I often indulge in the luxury of posh omakase, there's something special about the understated simplicity at Sushi Ko on Long Island. When I'm the only one at the sushi bar, the owner/chef steps out and personally crafts each piece, coaching his colleague on every detail right in front of me. It feels like I've got the whole place to myself, with each bite thoughtfully explained. A truly intimate sushi experience.

The chef was funny and very accommodating to special requests. I had the steak medium which he actually did medium thankfully. Shrimp was clean! Clap it up for no veins! Lol this passion fruit tea was actually really really delicious. Not too sweet as some passion fruit flavored drinks are. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the scallion pancakes. Maybe if you do just put in the request for it to be crispy. If you are like me and enjoy it that way. Otherwise I'll be back

We celebrated my daughters birthday at this location the staff accommodated us upon requesting a…read morereservation of 12 , which I was very grateful for last minute bc my daughter must have changed her mind in what she wanted which was between hibachi and ramen and I was grateful that Suki had both options available ,so I was very happy about that , the food service and order was very quick so if you were starving you'll get your food and stat munching away at a good manner , we got Our food the ramen was phenomenal I tried my daughters as well as my nieces both super delicious and flavorful the egg wasn't soft in the middle how traditionally and normally the will serve at other Japanese se ramen houses but it was stilll good we ordered a lot of hibachi and teriyaki dishes which included steak and seafood I'm going to be honest the shrimp was over cooked so it didn't have the best texture while eating very chewy very dry and my husband requested medium rare steak for his lobster and steak it was a little to cooked like medium well and the steak was chewy and dry my son ordered shrimp and steak he has the same concerns for how it was cooked but he still ate his dinner so it was. 50/50 for us on the food the rice and noodles were exceptional! We also had quite a bit of appetizers which were also all really good so appetizers will not fail you at this restaurant ... but what really annoyed me was that we were still eating and ordering drinks but Almost done with our food and bc they had more clients coming in the rushed us out of the restaurant in a non discreet and noticeable manner which was terrible bc we wanted to order desserts for everyone as well and the way they pushed and rushed us out was very swift and we didn't realize till our food was in he containers and they basically was pushing us out after even thanking them for their service and accommodating us so that was a big turn off to me and I didn't appreciate it bc we were a party of 12 and we got 8 appetizers double the amount of drinks and plates that cost over $28+ each so that was a bit disgusting and rude especially while wanting desert and celebrating my daughters special day , the restaurant is very clean if that matters for some mid food and n rude way we were sent out ehh I don't think I will be coming here ever again and not recommend this restaurant to anyone to be honest I personally did not want to tip the after seeing how the were rushing us out but I had class and still have them 18% normally we do 22% but it's okay will spend my money elsewhere next time
