I've been living in this area for some time now and have yet to try this pizza shop until on this day. I was over my brothers with my daughter having a play date and they wanted pizza. So I used the Slice app to order some pizza and cheesesteak special that came with fries and a 2liter soda- it totaled around 26 bucks which wasn't too bad. Delivery on Slice is the worse! I could've drove there twice or even three times compared to how long it took my order to come. When the delivery person finally arrived the kids were so happy! It's pretty bad when the kids are constantly looking out the door and window looking for the pizza man! So the food case and the cheese steak was delicious- lacked with meat and tasted really good. The pizza was so/so and I wish it tasted better- we had a large pizza shared with the 3 1/2 of us- and my nephew who usually eat about 3 slices ate only one cause he didn't like the sauce on the pizza. The sauce tasted too sweet which was odd. The fries and steak was good though- I'd give this place another try and just order the cheese steak and fries alone next time.

Went to Katerina's Sat. to pick up an order for a birthday party. The gentleman who was celebrating his birthday found a large bone in his French fries and a large piece of metal in his pizza. Pictures were taken and calls and texts were sent to this place and a man got on the phone and was so nasty, didn't offer any apology, didn't offer any reimbursement, nothing. Stay away from this place. Shame on Katerina's, and Shame on Jay, who I talked to on the phone. He's telling me to contact the Board Of Health. Is he serious? I told him you're serving bones and metal in food, and you're not taking any responsibility. I said the right way to handle this would be to return my money, which he should have offered to do immediately. He said that would mean I'm bribing him. He made it like this is my fault.

    The cheese isn't even MELTED!

I am a long time customer of Katerina's and have ordered from them regularly (approx 3x. Week or more for more than 20 years. In all my years of being extremely satisfied with not only their food but their service, my terrible experience today was one for the record books! I ordered a sandwich platter and asked specifically that my bread me extra toasted (keep in mind the sandwich was supposed to come hot) not only do i live down the street (literally 4 blocks) from the pizzeria, the delivery comes...sandwich is cold, bread not toasted...and the bread doesn't even resemble the bread i was told the sandwich is made on. I call the pizza place to discuss my order. The original man who took my order answered the phone (he had an accent but clearly understandable) and proceeded to explain to me that he asked the person who prepped the sandwich not to toast the bread too much because it makes the sandwich look smaller. As i proceeded to explain to him that this isn't what i asked for, not toasted bread and a cold sandwich and how we could rectify the situation, he just sat there and replied "i don't know what to tell you..." I proceeded to explain to him that I'm a long term customer who orders from them regularly, this has never happened to me before and I would like a resolution to my order and that i would hate to never order from them again, he proceeded to tell me "i don't know what you want me to tell you, don't order from us again.." and hung up on me. Surely this can't be the owner...or was it?. In this day and age when we have so many options for food in the area, you would think that a business such as this would want to consider hearing the complaint of not only a long standing customer but someone who orders from them regularly multiple times a week. Let's just say, don't waste your time or money. There are a TON of great pizza places in the area. I will move my business across the street to Wacky Zackys before i EVER order from Katerina's again after this...

Side view White pizza with chicken and broccoli

First time we tried it and now it's 10/10 in our personal pizza place rating!!! Pizza isn't greasy, the dough taste amazing! Chicken has very good taste(not as some other pizza places, that put disgusting salty prepared chicken meat) and broccoli was soft, well cooked. I will defiantly order again and try their cheesecakes and salads. If you still debating order from them or not, I'd say " give it a try"

a hand holding a half eaten sandwich

Been ordering for years and they must of switched owners. Lost all their quality and care in the food. Just ordered today for the last time. 2 cheesesteaks hard almost stale bread (obviously not fresh), square cheese just thrown on roll not cooked in to be melted with meat and only 20% of the cheesesteak is meat the rest is the stale bread. I recommend anyone looking at their yelp to go across the street to wacky zackys. Cooks tonight thought they were slick but anyone could taste these steaks were trash

Reservations are a good idea since it can get busy. To start, we shared a fresh goat cheese salad along with the following entrees , including short rib over polenta, mushroom pasta, grape leaves, and an octopus salad. For dessert, we had the salted caramel boudino, which was a perfect way to end the meal--rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

EXCELLENT LATE-NIGHT STOP! MUST TRY!…read more We walked in about an hour before closing on a Thursday night--never an ideal entrance. You know the look. The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)

I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads.
