This review is so long overdue! I have been a patient of Dr. Shriber for at least 15 years. Most…read morerelationships don't even last that long, but the Doc and I have a good thing going, and I'm in it for the long haul. His office is very clean and has the latest diagnostic equipment. His secretary, Sasha, is super friendly, and Dr. Shriber is by far one of the kindest, most patient doctors you will ever meet. I'm not saying that I'm fussy, but when it comes to him asking me, "Which is better, 1 or 2? How about now, 1 or 2?". My response is always, "Can you do it again, Doc?" I don't know why. It's as if my eyes are always playing tricks on me. But his patience goes beyond the examinations. I swear it knows no bounds. I work on airplanes and once you hit 30,000 feet, these planes will suck all the moisture out of your body. And that extends to your eyes making your contact lenses uncomfortable to wear. Why not wear glasses then? I'm too vain. Anyway, there are contact lenses out there that advertise they are perfect for dry eyes. Over the years, I find them to be outright lies. So a couple of years ago, Dr. Shriber had me try a different pair every couple of weeks until I felt the contacts held enough moisture for my long haul flights. I remember saying to him, "Really? Aren't you going to get sick of seeing me?" No, he just wanted me to be happy with them. I went back 4 times before I finally placed my order. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago. 15 years later, I still LOVE going to this man. He is knowledgeable, generous, funny, and he also takes most insurance (if not all). Tons of street parking and a cheap public lot in the back ($ .50 an hour). If you need glasses, his office is connected to Gordon Optical which is run by his brother. So the next time you need an eye exam, look no further!! I give Dr. Yale Shriber a 10-Star review!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I have been to the Framingham office many years ago. Decent experience whi…read morehis why I called again. I have a very common condition which no doctor in Framingham could see me for sonthey sent me to Waltham which is a 45+ min drive. Fine. I got there early and was only one in waiting room. Waiting room filled up and I counted 7 patients taken back to see the doctor I was here for. It's been over an hour. I inquired and was told I was next. 2 more have gone in and I am still sitting here waiting. My condition will resolve itself before I am seen. My mother uses Lexington Eye and after today (if I stay at this point) so will I. I understand waiting to see a doctor but this is far beyond that. If they take me soon it's only because the waiting room is now empty until someone else shows up

She did not listen to my concerns (I think in an attempt to keep her success rate with the procedure she performed intact). She tried to break the blockage in-office with a Xanax and far too little local anesthesia. It was insane. Note: the doctor I visited in Maine confirmed my suspicion on the blockage being real. I'm letting him deal with it from now on. I was going to stick with the new cornea specialist assigned to me for an annual visit. I was scheduled for a 2/19/26 appt with the new cornea specialist, and received a note that the date had to change. It said 2/26 in the communication. Shame on me for missing that someone had inadvertently noted 2027, not 2026. Made the journey from Portland, Maine to Danvers - in the snow, to learn about the mishap. I guess it was "my fault" for not noticing the error, but between the lack of concern from tear duct specialist and this - I am done. I had no idea how low the yelp reviews were for this practice. Always thought I was doing the right thing going to Boston. Done with that.

ER's like Newton Wellesley, Emerson, etc. often accurately know the hour estimate in a courteous tone. For a second time she might put your call on hold if you ask just one too many questions about wait times abruptly to answer an "ambulance call" - whether true or not, knowing a thing or two of how some things work behind the scenes, whether your loved one is struggling with their own conditions like everyone else. They also don't like being asked if they could guess how many were loudly called in, but "it's not their job" to count. Last time I said so they might sleep there overnight and the woman responded in a snooty say "uh huh". It's more common to drive your loved ones to another ER who have a clue. I don't blame you. Being abruptly hung up on without a "bye" or some assurance could use some work.
