I waited three hours to be seen. Then she was rushed, didn't answer questions. I felt very disrespected and very disappointed.

The Lexington office, specifically Emily for a ophthalmic technician, is where it's at. We went to a different location first and the technician had an awful time getting the eye drops in my kids' eyes and they were honestly traumatized by it (so was I!!). Emily in the Lexington office is AMAZING with children. She is so kind and caring and gets the kids to do all of the tests and they are psyched about it. From the magic glasses (3D test) to the pirate test (eye charts) to the dreaded eye drops... she is a star. Her method of having the child lie back with closed eyes, put in drops, and then blink, works EVERY time. We first met her when my daughters were 4 or 5 and they still ask if we're going to "the right" eye doctor when we have an appointment. She also keeps her patients updated, moving, and to get to the doctor on time. The doctors are all good across the board and across offices, but it's the technician who makes or breaks the appointment. Thank you Ms. Emily! You are the BEST!

This review is so long overdue! I have been a patient of Dr. Shriber for at least 15 years. Most…read morerelationships don't even last that long, but the Doc and I have a good thing going, and I'm in it for the long haul. His office is very clean and has the latest diagnostic equipment. His secretary, Sasha, is super friendly, and Dr. Shriber is by far one of the kindest, most patient doctors you will ever meet. I'm not saying that I'm fussy, but when it comes to him asking me, "Which is better, 1 or 2? How about now, 1 or 2?". My response is always, "Can you do it again, Doc?" I don't know why. It's as if my eyes are always playing tricks on me. But his patience goes beyond the examinations. I swear it knows no bounds. I work on airplanes and once you hit 30,000 feet, these planes will suck all the moisture out of your body. And that extends to your eyes making your contact lenses uncomfortable to wear. Why not wear glasses then? I'm too vain. Anyway, there are contact lenses out there that advertise they are perfect for dry eyes. Over the years, I find them to be outright lies. So a couple of years ago, Dr. Shriber had me try a different pair every couple of weeks until I felt the contacts held enough moisture for my long haul flights. I remember saying to him, "Really? Aren't you going to get sick of seeing me?" No, he just wanted me to be happy with them. I went back 4 times before I finally placed my order. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago. 15 years later, I still LOVE going to this man. He is knowledgeable, generous, funny, and he also takes most insurance (if not all). Tons of street parking and a cheap public lot in the back ($ .50 an hour). If you need glasses, his office is connected to Gordon Optical which is run by his brother. So the next time you need an eye exam, look no further!! I give Dr. Yale Shriber a 10-Star review!

Each procedure turned out beautifully and I could not be happier with the outcomes. The entire staff that we dealt with (both times) were for the most part all extremely nice and accommodating. The only few who were not were the actual ladies behind the check-in desk. There is a "no food or drink" policy in the waiting room (which is understandable) and they have zero problem yelling at you for breaking their rule. However not even two seconds later from telling us about our (closed) bottle, they are behind the desk drinking and eating. How about practicing what they preach? Location wise, each time it's pretty much been a breeze coming in and out of the hospital. There's a little cafe right outside the waiting room for hungry parents and caregivers which is a really nice touch. I would definitely recommend Dr. Elliot to any and all parents who's child ever may need an eye surgery. She's out of Boston Children's Hospital in Waltham, but will travel to satellite locations.
