Dr Katrina's dental hygienist is AWFUL! She is full of attitude and irritability. I came in twice and the first time I was like well that sucked. She has zero patience or tolerance for any discomfort you may feel. If you ask her to do anything more gentle she said "that's as gentle as I can go" She literally sprayed water all over my face while rinsing my teeth. (This has never happened to me before). I went a second time because I needed a cleaning and was being lazy in finding a place. She was so rude, impatient and unprofessional. I left both cleanings with a significant amount of blood after the cleaning. And after the second time I told myself I will not go back. This was fall of 2024. I found a new dentist I love! Here's the kicker though, I was at an event talking with a friend I haven't seen in a few months we're talking bout dentists and she told me she saw one recently and she said it was awful the dental hygienist was so rude and mean to her and I said wait a second where did you go? Turns out she had the same dental hygienist that I had and we hadn't known it but she was awful to both of us. I would never return and suggest you do not waste your time going. The dentist herself was fine but I spent about 2 min with her. The majority of my time was spent with the dental hygienist being talked down to, in extreme pain and discomfort- not worth it to me. Dr. Le is a great dentist. One day at lunch I broke a tooth in half. By 1:00 the very next day I walked out of her office with a permanent new crown installed. She has helped me with crowns, repairs and more and she never tries to do more work than is absolutely needed. read more

I decided to wait for a trip to Asia where I went to a very high level dentist who after the most thorough exam and x-rays of my life told me that I had just one tiny cavity. The hygienists here are excellent and do very thorough cleanings, better than any dentist office I've been to here on the Peninsula. I leave with shiny white teeth and coffee stains completely removed. Feels like I have a new set of teeth. Dr. Le is very kind and knowledgeable and makes recommendations on how I can do better with flossing or keeping my teeth cleaner. They could use a little more getting to know their patients. I have been here a few times but recently she was quite upfront about my presence there and as to why I cannot find another dentist. I mentioned that because of her excellent reviews and my past good experience I choose to drive a few extra miles to get better service. But you can imagine the disgust of being put in the spot as if you are not wanted there. After a few months, I decided to get a cleaning done here and confirmed my appointment as well via email, however, the next day the receptionist relayed a message via Katrina saying that because I do not follow up on emergency procedures, she is not going to see me for cleaning. I told her that cleaning has nothing to do with emergency and that is a regular scheduled appointment for cleaning. The receptionist refused to address any of my concerns and despite the appointment, she insisted that I find a different care provider. After much argument over the phone, she said she has nothing else to say. There was no cancelation email sent to me except telling me not to show up. They are not professional. On the contrary, this is one of the most rude occurrences in my life. I also want to mention that their staff is not that well trained. I had a panoramic taken and I was not informed that all neck jewelry such as a metallic chain needs to be taken out. Plus other reviewers are 100% correct when they say that she likes to take too many X rays. Normally good dentists will figure out just from the external parts of the teeth and gums as to what is going on. read more

Dr. Katrina Le's office is by far the best dental experience I've ever had! I don't remember ever having a dentist/orthodontist this great. I first came to Dr. Le around 3 years ago with a LOT of teeth concerns. Her entire staff is so amazing and helpful as well. I've gotten invisalign as well as other cosmetic work done. My favorite thing about Dr. Le is how much of a perfectionist she is! For example, when I was scheduled to be done with my invisalign, she noticed my teeth weren't 100% ready and she immediately explained to me what she wanted to change and how I can better my smile. She recommends so much, and even if you can't/don't want to go through with the recommendations, she works with what YOU are comfortable with! Katrina Le is one of the best dentists I've ever seen. Very friendly, sweet, cares about her patients, and experienced. From initial opinion, billing, to treatment and checkups, she made everything so comfortable. She explained everything clearly, gave me all my options, and double checked with my insurance before beginning treatment. When I came in for tooth extraction and bone graft, she saw me promptly. She let me know what was going on through every step of the process so I'd understand what she was working on. She kept checking to see how i felt throughout the process. She even gave me glasses to protect my eyes and a small pillow without me asking. Bonus points - she has tiny hands and very slender fingers, so she has a really gentle touch and I don't have to stretch my mouth out to an uncomfortable level. Might sound random but if you have a small mouth like mine, it's a big difference from other dentists! After treatment, she spent extra time to let me know what she did, why, and give post-treatment instructions. I never felt rushed despite her going overtime. She is readily available for questions as well. I thought I messed up the bone graft and she squeezed me in within hours to check it out. It ended up being fine. I highly recommend her for everything from tooth cleanings to cavity work, and more complicated care like extractions and bone grafting. She makes things as easy and pain-free as possible! read more

I booked an appointment on zocdoc and showed up for this doctor for the annual exam and cleaning. I checked in and waited for 20 minutes. It wasn't until I sat in the chair that they told me that it's not the day that dr. Le works, and I will be seeing someone else for the appointment. And they seem super matter-of-fact and part of the patient recruitment process. I find this to be a super shady bait-and-switch tactic. Using a friendly looking and doctor with good reviews in the front to support other ones in the office, and they don't even tell you until you sit in the chair. Integrity is a big deal for me when it comes to medical services- so I quickly got up and left. Just don't fall for the same trap as I did. read more

Best dental experience I've ever had. Didn't have to wait long, Dr Le is super nice and patient. She explained everything step by step and showed me photos of my teeth while she was working on them. That was by far the worst dentist appointment I've ever had. The only positive things were: 1) they ran on time (which I really appreciated) 2) it's easy to get in and out of/plenty of parking, 3) they offer Saturday appointments and 4) the receptionist was nice. Where to even start...first off, they took x-rays. They literally took about 30 of them. I wish I had counted, because I know it has to be somewhere close to that number. That should have been a red flag right there and then...this was a regular cleaning and I have a very ordinary mouth. Past dentists took 4 max, if I recall. The technician was extremely rude if you weren't biting the the plastic piece the right way. She even said "don't know how to use" in regards to this one piece with a yellow plastic circle. Reassuring and exactly what you want to hear when you're being exposed to radiation...not. She even poked me in the eye once while putting the piece in my mouth. But the grossest part, between x-rays she touched the computer and then put her hand right back in your mouth for the next one using the exact same gloves. Presumably she does that for everyone, so that mouse has to be full of patient germs. I've never seen any medical "professional" not change gloves in this kind of situation. Then walks in the dentist. Before even looking at my mouth, she proceeds to tell me all the problems she sees from the X-rays. Every dentist I have ever been to before first at least looks in your mouth before giving recommendations. She insists I grind my teeth and tells me to buy head gear from CVS. I don't grind my teeth, but she was too egotistical to even listen to me. She did the cleaning herself which I thought was strange and was condescending the entire time. It's the wettest my face has ever been at the dentist and the most uncomfortable a cleaning has ever been. At the end of the visit they applied fluoride which had to stay on for 30 minutes. I have not had a dentist with this requirement since I was actually 6 years old. My past dentist used one that was rinsed off after just 1 minute. The office itself is very basic. I don't need an incredible office by any means, but it seemed far from state of the art like my old dentist, which unfortunately my new insurance no longer covers read more

Clean office, very friendly staff, and GREAT service. I've been a patient of Dr. Le for a couple of years now. Dr. Le has been so good and so patient. She starts every appointment by making sure that I'm aware of everything she is about to do and that I'm ok with it (and I'm not the easiest patient to deal with). Nila, who does all the administrative work at the office, is super nice, organized and easy to work with. Dr. Le recently did an Invisalign treatment for me. A few months after the treatment was over, my teeth started to shift despite having a retainer. I went back to see Dr. Le and she re-aligned my teeth practically for free. After substandard dental work by Dr. Le, I had to have a tooth extracted. This has been confirmed by another dentist. A simple crown on a tooth that was not causing me any pain whatsoever, turned into a month long nightmare of agonizing pain that culminated with the tooth being extracted. Dr. Le inexplicably placed a partial crown on a tooth with a fracture. A partially fractured tooth should be completely protected by a full crown. Additionally, the crown was ill fitting or poorly seated or both. It was left high and as soon as I used the tooth the fracture was propagated and the tooth was irreparably damaged. Basically, a simple crown turned into over a 5K implant. And I could not go out for my 30th wedding anniversary, instead I stayed at home and ate soup and baby food. Did I mention that Dr. Le has a fancy in office very expensive machine that mills the crown while you wait? I was in her office for over 4.5 hours. It was horrible. The first milled crown broke and I had to wait for a second one. My blood sugar dropped and she gave me hard crackers to eat with an exposed tooth!? (Was she trying to crack my tooth?) My shot wore off after several hours and she was reluctant to give me another shot. She seated the crown while I was not fully numb. It was very unpleasant. She also did a filling. She left the filling unpolished. I had to ask her to polish it. By the time I left, I was exhausted, starving, and in pain. After two to three weeks of agonizing pain, I went back to see her. She attempted to adjust the crown again. She drilled on the opposing tooth, which also has a crown, to accommodate the new crown. I could not believe the damage she did to the opposing crown to accommodate the new crown. She also told me at that time the tooth with the new crown may now be completely fractured - AND that she could do a root canal for me (she's not an endodontist) and put another crown on for me after the root canal. Great. I left in agonizing pain. After two more weeks of agonizing pain, I went to see another dentist - someone with much more experience. This dentist properly adjusted the new crown in less than 3 minutes and sent me straight off to an endodondist. He said the tooth was badly bruised and possibly irreparably fractured. I was then sent to a dental surgeon to have the tooth extracted. The dental surgeon gave me a strange look and asked me "So what did your dentist put on that tooth - is that a temporary that is on there?". What Dr. Le did was so bizarre, the dental surgeon was questioning what the heck that blob of material was on my tooth. But wait, there's more. Dr. Le charged me for a full crown and build up, prior to the procedure, but on the day of the procedure, insisted I should have a partial crown. I did not receive a refund for the changes in the procedures - and I should have. Stranger still, she indicated my insurance company would only pay for a filling, and has now billed us for the difference. If she had provided proper documentation to the insurance company with the intra-oral images she should have received payment for the crown. She took intra-oral images - why didn't she provide those to the insurance company? Shady indeed. Regarding all the 5 star reviews she has, she sends emails after your visits specifically requesting 5 star reviews. read more

I normally don't write reviews unless it's either really good or bad service. This place was referred by a colleague of mine when I wanted to seek a second opinion to replace current tooth with a crown. Dr Katrina not only told me that I don't need it but she gave me suggestions to take care of my teeth and mentioned that I instead needed a night guard. She gave me the best recommendation ever! I was so happy i didn't have to get fake tooth because from what I heard, it won't be the same and getting a crown replacement would be a last resort if your tooth is decaying and cannot be recovered even with fillers. She said she wouldn't want to do something she wouldn't do to herself and I appreciate her honesty, which is really hard to find now a days because most dentists are out there to make whatever they can from you. I've witnessed several places and I would never go back nor recommend to anyone. Since then I've been going here with my family and im not planning to go anywhere else. To me honesty and customer service is everything. More places should take this approach if they want to keep their customer. read more

My whole family has been with Dr Le since she took over the prior dentist's practice. The prior dentist was good, but Dr Le is fantastic! She is friendly and kind, soft-spoken and patient, knowledgeable and detail-oriented, and her technical skills are unmatched. I have terrible teeth (the result of genetics and acid reflux) and have had a ton of dental work done. Dr Le is professional, kind, and gentle, tells you exactly what she's going to do, then does it and does it well, and then reviews things with you, including what she found during the procedure, and what to watch out for. I've been a patient of Dr. Le for three years. I've had four wisdom teeth removed, two crowns, a problem with an old crown repaired, and a few fillings. I was travelling to San Francisco from San Jose because she's *that good*, and I'm VERY excited that her offices are now in Mountain View. She's always done excellent work and is very good about following up with her patients. She shows that she believes in individualized care. She's very friendly, and very enthusiastic about the work she does. She'll bend over backwards to make sure you have a comfortable experience, and I'm picky about these things because I've got unusual innervation in my mouth that makes it hard to have a comfortable experience with almost any other dentist. So this is the third dentist I've seen at this location, so I don't know if I'm more loyal to the dentists, or the office. But in any case, after first going to Dr LoGrasso in the 80's, and then Dr Arita for many years, it was nice to see that she had found a good replacement in Dr Katrina Le. She has a very good manner and explains what's going to happen and what the options are. Until last week, I'd only been there for cleanings, but I needed a filling replaced last time, and they did a great job of explaining to me what was going to happen and what the side effects and ongoing issues might be. The numbing was uneventful, although Dr Le apologized for the pain I might be feeling. The filling looks great, and my tooth doesn't hurt any more. What's particularly great is that she walks you through the entire process, making sure you know what is going on, as well as showing you before and after pictures in "real time".
