Crispy and juicy katsu, slightly sweeter curry sauce, great rice to soak it all up, and crunchy radishes. The katsu sando is light, saucy, soft bread, a great set up. The chicken sando is absolutely perfect. Giant juicy and crispy chicken with so much delicious sauce and crunchy tasty coleslaw and the perfect bun to soak things up. Tteokbokki is chewy, saucy, savory, smokey, cheesy, a nice big plate. Waffle fries are so crispy and crunchy, perfect to dip in the curry and rice cake sauces. The miso soup was fantastic. The only two downsides are the poke and egg salad. The egg salad was just kinda plain. But the poke wasn't good. The fish wasn't cut well and a bit chewy, while the sauce was super bland. I don't know if it was just a bad day but it was not good at all. Got an order of Beef Katsu plate and Calamari. Calamari - oddly fishy, I could smell them when picking up the order but still tried to eat them thinking I was tripping. They sure did taste fishy, plus terrible texture (rubbery and chewy), and the crust was not crunchy at all and borderline soggy. I literally ate a couple of them and threw the rest. And I love calamari, I would never waste them just like that. The fishy smell was so strong that I had to close the box while working on the rest of my food. Sorry, but no doubt the worst calamari I have ever had. Oh and the ranch(?) that came with it was very thin and tasted sour or vinegary, also terrible. Katsu - it was aright... the bottom crust was sogged up and came off completely, obviously the bottom was no longer crispy. The intact breading was ok, not great, maybe not even good. Also, I did not realize that "beef katsu" means a literal patty, breaded and fried. I cannot say that I enjoyed it but at least I did not throw it away. The curry was good, tasted nice. Sides were alright too. I would give 2 stars based on this experience alone but I remember I came here when they first opened and it was actually pretty good, so giving an extra star. I've been here twice. First time, my friend ordered katsu curry. We took our meal to go. Get home, and there was no curry... however, it did all taste decent. Go back a second time and order chicken strips. They were the greasiest and soggiest chicken strips I've ever had. I only finished half my meal and had to put down my fork to go the restroom... and don't bother looking at the menu on the website. Items on the menu on the website, menu boards in store, and the self service kiosk are all slightly different. I had intended to order katsu strips and French fries, per what's on the website, and that's not at all what I got. You will see pictures of things on the menu wall that you cannot order on the kiosk... and if you want to talk to a real person, forget about it. We tried ordering with an actual person and we were told to use the kiosk. It's difficult getting the actual worker people's attention and they are rude and annoyed when you ask them for help. If I am forced to order at a kiosk, I give zero tip. After receiving my meal, I am glad I gave zero. read more

The chef in the back had no gloves on and licked his fingers while making my food. Every table and seat was dirty, restrooms alike. Trash cans in the restroom and dining area were all full. Bumping up to 3.5 stars. Like last time, there was a combination of hits and misses. - Rosemary Kastu Sando w/ Side of Waffle Fries ($16.50). Just like the Egg Salad Sando, the herb flavor was missing. Moving past the lack of rosemary, the katsu was very good. The white meat chicken was actually more tender and juicy than the pork katsu. I liked the berry katsu sauce. The sweetness and wheat flavor of the bread came through as the bread warmed up. Although the heat wilted the bread and produced a slightly gummy texture, I think that's normal for milk bread. The waffle fries were fantastic - extremely crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. - Yubu Set ($14 - 4 pcs). The tofu pockets were generously stuffed with chewy rice mixed with black sesame seeds. I enjoyed the sweet marinade on the tofu, and each pocket was topped with a huge mound of filling. My favorite was the Cali Roll. The Bulgogi ground beef was a little hard, but the flavor of the marinade was good. The spicy tuna was just whatever for me. At least it was spicier than most other places. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the Cheese Buldak. The diced chicken managed to be both bland and dry. It was giving a little undercooked 5/10 or perhaps not enough water. I cook rice daily at home as it's necessary with almost every meal at home so as you can see I was disappointed in it. - Yubu Pockets were pretty good 8/10 - Egg Sandos I didn't get to try, but my nephew did and he ate majority of just the eggs lol - strawberry sando, this was my first time trying something like this. Tried this place for the first time for lunch, the food was very good. I got the garlic aioli chicken wings with fries and was very pleased with the flavor and the amount of fries they gave. The wings were perfectly cooked and they gave a ton of fries to go along with it. Our second time ordering to-go because we were so impressed by not only the food, but the bento box packaging that kept the food items intact. We got the shrimp katsu plate which was fantastic! The tempura was crispy and flaky as tempura should be. The portion is right. They don't skimp on the number of shrimp. We ordered through Door Dash for a pick up window of 20 mins. To our surprise, they had it ready right on time as there was only one guy at the front area working. That's the reality of restaurants today- not enough workers with all the challenges of running a business. We're definitely going back. Not sure when this place opened but I've been waiting so long to try this restaurant. My high expectations were not disappointed. Food: I got the rosemary pork katsu sando with spicy mayo and waffle fries. There was Tuesday deal going on that made the price $13 instead of $14.50. Absolutely loved it! The bread was super soft and pillowy and the pork katsu was juicy and flavorful with the spicy mayo. Also ordered the pork katsu curry with curry on the side.
