Found Katsu Bar late at night with my girlfriend and decided to give it a try! We tried their Dill Egg Salad Sando , Yubu Pockets , and their Tteokbokki Cream Katsu Udon. The Dill Egg Salad Sando was great! I loved how creamy the egg was with a slight sweetness from the bread. The Tteokbokki Cream Katsu Udon was good as well! It wasn't too spicy and the udon/ tteokbokki were cooked perfectly. The Katsu was pretty standard. The Yubu Pockets were a little disappointing. I've actually never had them before but it was mostly rice and not a lot of toppings. Flavor was good , I just wish it had more of the toppings we ordered. Service was good , we went pretty late so our food came out pretty fast. Workers seemed nice and friendly too! Ambiance is cool! Just a pretty basic restaurant that is clean with plenty of seating. Overall , would come back again if I'm in the area or crave a late night spot!

Really great late night spot! After looking around for something warm and comforting following a concert that ended at midnight, this place seemed like worth a shot. Luckily, it was really perfect!. The spot was super clean and calm and the staff that helped outside of the virtual kiosks were super sweet. The tofu soup and katsu were pretty good and solid comforting dishes, which were really great to end the night. Check this spot out if you're looking for a similar experience!

I've always liked this place, but my most recent visit left much to be desired. The service is still quick and the staff are nice, but the food quality has gone downhill, likely a sign of hard economic times. Although my pork katsu was cooked properly, it was served over a bed of really dry rice. I only ate it because I was hungry and compensated for the dry rice by doubling up on katsu sauce. I was also disappointed to see that they no longer carry Stubborn corn syrup free soda, just the standard offerings. I'm not quitting this spot yet. I hope things pick up. It's hard to find quick, convenient katsu.

Great place to grab lunch! Took my daughter here as there's a bunch of toddler friendly foods! You order from a kiosk and seat yourself. The food was brought out to us by a nice staff member. We ordered the cauliflower tempura, tteokbokki cream katsu (chicken) udon, and rose pasta with chicken katsu. We loved how crunchy the katsu was, and the chicken wasn't dry at all. The pastas were flavorful. The cauliflower tempura was crispy but could have used a bit more seasoning. Overall, it's a great place for a quick dine with reasonable prices.

We stopped in for dinner the other night. There is plenty of parking in the parking structure. The restaurant itself is modern and quaint. We got the kimchi dumplings. Nice and crispy on the outside and filled with kimchi on the inside. We made short work of them. We got a shrimp katsu sando. Each sando had 2 pieces of shrimp katsu. They were crispy on the outside and moist, flavorful shrimp on the inside. They also come with a side of waffle fries. We had to get a curry katsu plate. We got chicken katsu that was large and tender. The curry was so good. It was quite filling. We also needed to try the apple chili sandwich. We got it with a pork katsu. The apple chili and pork katasu pair perfectly just like apple sauce and pork chops. And we got a Korean street food omelet sando. The fluffiness of the eggs and the veggies in the omelet work so well with the soft bread. I already need another one! Last but not least we got a strawberry sando. The cream and fresh strawberries go so well with the bread. Perfect way to finish the meal. Service was super friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to get back to try more of the menu.

Just ordered the Korean spicy chicken tenders creamy chicken bowl and egg sando. Egg sando was just ok, though it did not at all look like the pics with the crustless bread. The chicken soup was freezing cold and tasted gamey. I had 2 bites and couldn't eat it. The Korean style spicy chicken wings, was basically the breaded chicken breast cut up, with a drizzle of the spicy tangy sauce. The sauce was good but this dish was also freezing cold Overall it's a good concept, I would want to know the quality matches what they promise on the menu and in their brand

Saw this Katsu place and thought "um katsu" so went with wife. the ordering is by self kiosk so it was easy what i notice is that even though this is a katsu place their menu has a variety of item like noodles (asian and no asian noodles) and sando sandwiches. they note in their site they offer a diverse menu u but i think too diverse. i got fish katsu 3 pieces of katsu fish with a good amount t of rice and korean radishes. wife got sando sandwich the katsu was decent it was well katsu and filling. but was disappointed with the sando sandwich. it was just ok i was hoping for more flavor. this is lt bad for a bite to eat in the area it's about $15-16 per dish the room was roomy with plenty of seating

Great food in a busy area of Glendale. It's housed alongside a Poke Bar and what seems to be a small pasta place. All the food- pork katsu apple sandwich with fries, calamari, chicken katsu curry combo, and wings- was delicious. Juicy, hot, and flavorful (favorite was the sandwich!) The service was okay. We possibly came on a rough day, so I'll give them grace. First, a staff member visibly got upset at us taking time before placing our order (it was our first time, and options are ample between the three restaurant options), then ordered someone "you take their order," and walked off. Later on, our food came out and we noticed we had regular fries with our pork sandwich combo, instead of the seasoned waffle fries shown on the menu. When we spoke up to staff, they simply stated that they ran out of waffle fries. That would've been great to know in advance. Also, we were given an extra order of the katsu curry combo, which confused us at first. However, since we already began eating it, it would've made sense for the staff to let us keep it, right? Instead, they came to our table later and took it away. I get that it was an extra order we hadn't paid for, but why not either let us keep it or take away the one we hadn't touched? Regardless, the food was good and perhaps the service was just off this day. I'd still return.

Katsu bar Finally got to try this viral spot. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. I got their strawberry matcha latte, cauliflower tempura, bulgolgi and cali roll yubu pockets, steak rice bowl, chicken truffle cream pasta, and apple chili sandwich to try. The strawberry matcha was perfectly sweet and had a good balance of sweet strawberry and earthy bitter matchay flaves. The cauliflower tempura had a lightly crisp outside with a tender cauliflower inside and came with a creamy garlicky mayoy dipping sauce that wasn't for me. The bulgolgi and cali roll yubus were LOADED with their toppings, had a sweet chewy tofu skin filled with sesame oil seasoned rice. I didn't really like the Cali roll one tho cuz it had a really strong mayoy flave and stringy texture that reminded me of worms. The bulgolgi was good, tender, umami and sweet tho. The meat steak bowl tasted like the bulgolgi on the yubu and came with a juicy corn rib, mayoy lowkey mushy Mac salad, chunky yolky egg salad, and a crunchy cabbage topped with a mayoy sauce. The truffle pasta was creamy and rich and had mellow truffley flaves. The chicken that came with it was also salty and tough. The apple chili was pretty good tho. I got it with the pork katsu which was nicely crispity crunchy and paired well with that slightly spicy apple chili sauce that kinda reminded me of the flaves of apple pie? It also had crunchy coleslaw and pickles and a buttery thick brioche bun. Katsu here is definitely pretty good but the rest overall eh. What I got: Katsu Tteokbokki Shrimp Katsu Truffle Cream Pasta Soy Garlic Wings with Fries Sweet & Spicy Wings with Fries Baja Chipotle Sandwich with Fries This is my second time coming here! Really love this place my go to Asian food in Glendale. Soo much options to choose from and never getting tired of it! I'm obsessed with their katsu especially the one with pasta. The food is always soo soo good! I wish more people would come here and try it! It's affordable and the portions are good for sharing. They have all the food options from Katsu, rice ,pasta, poke, Sandwhich ,desserts and drinks. Such a good value for the price! Service is always amazing, the food comes out really quick, very tasty and presented well. The ambiance is nice, plenty of seating, drinks,condiments and napkins and utensils are all self served. I will comeback again to try more of their other dishes. Super yummy

I came here once before and thought the food was pretty good so I decided to bring the family to give it a try. The lady at the register barely looked up and just pointed to the self order computer. I told her we have some questions regarding the bowl menu and she just rudely said "it's a bowl with rice and chicken in it. I don't know what else to tell you" and went back to doing whatever she was doing before. This place has been so great every time I go. Place is always clean, you can order on the computer, service was excellent as they provide your food to you if you're dining in, and the quality of the food is excellent! Ever since coming back from Japan, I've missed a good Sando. Here, all the katsu in the Sandos stay crispy and fresh. You can also choose your choice of chicken, pork, beef, or portobello mushroom katsu!! I personally like the rosemary katsu sando, it's definitely a classic sando. What I really appreciate too is they have a special for every weekday, so you can get one of their most popular items for a discounted price depending on which day you go. I saw this place while walking in Glendale, and came in based on the deals advertised outside. It was more delicious than I could have imagined. Amazing food at a fantastic value price point. I am writing this review minutes after finishing my meal here, because I felt it more than deserves the praise in this review. I got an Apple Chili Katsu Sandwich, it was one of the best katsu dishes I have ever had. I will be back soon, recommending this place to my friends, and most likely coming back later this week for one of the Daily Specials on offer. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting quick, high quality Japanese food at a value price, 10/10 read more

Came here in search of some hearty food to nurse a hangover, and man did this place deliver. The rosemary chicken katsu sandwich was delicious and the chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and moist inside with a nice crispy crust. We got the berry katsu sauce on it which was delicious. Do yourself a favor and get a side of curry to dip it in and you're in for a good time. Haven't tried anything else on the menu but I'm looking forward to coming back! read more

This place popped up as I was looking for a quick bite to eat. I got the Katsu Curry Plate shown in the pictures. It came out looking exactly as pictured. How was it? Glad you asked. Starting with the sides, the radish was probably the star of the show/plate. It tasted great. But my guess is it's just regular store-bought stuff. The salad was wimpy. Some arugula with a thin slice and a half of tomato and a hint of dressing. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't very much of a salad. The macaroni salad was better, though it also tasted like regular store bought stuff. The problem was, there wasn't very much of it. There also wasn't enough of the curry for the katsu I got. The curry tasted delicious, but I was running out of it almost before I could finish the pork katsu. The pork was also pretty good. Not too fried, not too flaky, and not too hard. It was tender and tasty. Finally, the rice was just... rice. Nothing especially good or bad about it. But there was way too much of it compared to the other portions. All in all, I wouldn't mind less rice, more curry, and with a drink, the price was a little hefty for lunch. It's a much better deal when it's the daily special. I would probably come again if I'm with people who want to try it out, or if I need a katsu curry fix and I'm nearby. It was decent. Just a little overpriced, I thought, for what you get. But then for reference, an hour earlier, I was at the mechanic's who checked the diagnostics on my car, put in engine coolant and topped off my oil (not a complete change), for half the price of my lunch here. So maybe that's making it harder to see the value (cost-wise) of the katsu place. Still, I'd probably come back. read more

Service is great! Very friendly! The place is very clean. Ordered the Katy's rice bowl, the Rosemary Katsu Sandi, the strawberry milk and for dessert the strawberry sandwich. Everything is delicious, loved the fountain drinks. My favorite the vanilla cream. The sandwich bread is soft and yummy. We ordered the pork katsu: the breading is nice and crispy. We went today for lunch. The staff was INCREDIBLE. What an outstanding man at the front desk! It was our first time and he was helpful, professional, fluent in the menu, and went above and beyond for us. (Sadly, we didn't get his name). We'll be back, as the egg salad was terrific (along with the garlic sauce) and the fries with the curry sauce were tremendous....but, most of all, we know we'll be properly attended to, in the best ways possible. I wanted to like this place so bad. Being of Japanese heritage, my grandfather would make me katsu all the time growing up. It being a simple dish and all. This couldn't be further from that. I ordered the pork katsu sandwich and pork katsu curry noodles, on UberEats. When I opened the bag, I was impressed. Looked delicious! I picked up the first of three sections. Bread was nice and soft. Amazing. Then I added the sauce and took my first bite. This is where it goes downhill. I was not impressed by the sauce, it tasted too fruity, yet burnt at the same time? And the pork? Very disappointing. It was EXTREMELY tough. Like biting through a piece of leather. I still love katsu, but now I'm not so sure about this place :/ read more

The food was delicious! I got the black garlic udon and my mom got the Katsu curry plate, both were very enjoyable. The Korean gang jung were just okay, pretty overcooked and not much sauce. We dined in and unfortunately every single table was dirty so we might not dine in again but would definitely get their food again! read more

My husband and I got the Rosemary Katsu Sando with sid eof waffle fries as well as a small poke bowl. We are always skeptical to try new places but my cousin recommended to try Katsu Bar. Overall thoughts on the food, the food was delicious. Good portion. The poke bowl was made fresh and packed with flavor. We enjoyed every bite. We are definetly regular customers now. The menu is interesting, but it's a fast casual chain and tastes like it. The katsu was kind of meh and the oyakodon on rice was overcooked and underseasoned. Nice place tho, and the yubu was pretty good. The staff was nice but still pretty confused about procedures. I went during soft opening, maybe they will improve. Will try again later. read more

Writing this review on behalf of my bf who's a fry snob. We only stopped by because we just noticed this place walking by after ordering food elsewhere and the smell lured us in. Ordered just the waffle fries and he says they're the best fries he's ever had. Can't wait to come back to try the sandwiches and other items on their menu! read more

Recently I've been enjoying their bolognese udon, which has a cheese sauce, ground beef, some shredded cheese, a soft boiled egg, and some pepper. I do miss the old days when they used to have the GOAT mentai kamatama, and hope that someday they will bring that back. You can ask for free green onion and tempura flake toppings on your udon There's a variety of tempura you can pick out yourself as well. Their chicken tempura (not the katsu) is actually really good and flavorful. I do wish they offered some non-tempura sides like yakitori, since I'm not always in the mood for deep fried sides. Overall a quick and casual place to get a hot meal for around $15. If you eat here often, it's worth it to sign up for the rewards program so that you can get free food occasionally.

The biggest advantage is having Katsu Bar, Ten Ramen, and Ten Tofu all in one place, which makes it easy for families when everyone wants something different. Food came out quickly, portions were generous, and we especially enjoyed the Tomato Cream Katsu Udon and Bulgogi Cheese Fries. The only downside during our visit was that the restaurant felt a bit unfinished and cluttered. We arrived around 1:20 PM, and some areas looked messy even though they had opened earlier in the day.
