The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. Food and Drinks: I got myself a peach jasmine iced tea. It came in an old school can type container, which was very unique and cool. The drink itself was very fruity, floral, and refreshing. As someone who loathes super sweet drinks and food, this was just right. Perfect for a hot summer's day. My dope ass friend and I ordered the spicy garlic chicken rice and shaken beef garlic noodles. The spicy garlic chicken rice is a signature wok dish featuring flash-fried chicken, broccoli, and jalapeños tossed in a bold, savory garlic sauce served over a bed of hot and fluffy rice. It also comes with some popular Vietnamese veggies like lettuce, daikon radish, and pickled carrots. The chicken itself was soft, tender, and flavorful. Truthfully, this dish was mid compared to that of the shaken beef garlic noodles. It was also a pretty hefty portion of food. The shaken beef garlic noodles were hella fire. You would be remiss if you didn't order this, y'all. That's like going to Disneyland during Halloween season and NOT taking a photo with the gigantic ass pumpkin. Tsk tsk tsk. Anyways, this dish had thick, incredibly tender, mouth watering, and juicy cuts of wok-seared beef tenderloin and buttered onions served over generous portions of al dente savory, garlic-loaded noodles. As a fan of garlic and onions, this dish hit the spot. Also, this was a "wet" noodle style rather than a dry stir-fry. The generous portion sizes make it a heavy, highly filling meal. They technically were not supposed to seat me until my friend arrived, but because the restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived, they told me to sit down at a booth to wait for my friend. Not what it used to be! We used to love this spot years ago for a casual dinner in Burbank. We decided to come for dinner yesterday to see if it was still the same. Upon arrival we noticed a busy server that seemed to be by herself. We were asked to seat ourselves wherever was open. We sat by the window at a table that wasn't properly wiped down and seats full of crumbs. While waiting for our order we were getting attacked by gnats. Service is average (because of it being short staffed which I totally understand) and cleanliness seems to be last on their list. They also don't have fountain drinks and soda comes in bottles. Pho is a great dish to eat at any time of the day. To me, the most important part of the dish is the quality of the broth. If the broth doesn't taste great, then the other food items in the bowl won't taste as good since they won't absorb the flavor as much. I'm happy to say that Mama Hong's has that trait in their selections of pho. The restaurant is in the heart of Downtown Burbank and is close to the AMC Burbank 16. I didn't think it was possible to find yummy pho in the valley but it's here. We were immediately seated and our server was very kind. I wanted a comforting bowl of pho and ordered the one with filet mignon. It was delicious, I absolutely loved the broth(which is the most important part). The meat was tender and soft. My wife was craving some 'home cooking' on our way back to the valley from DTLA so we swung by Mama Hong's for some Pho for her & our boys, and a plate of bo luc lac for me. We got there at peak dinner time so, as expected, we needed to wait a bit for a table to accommodate all 5 of us. But, surprisingly, even with it being a small restaurant and them being busy, we ended up getting seated quite quickly. Service here was good, nothing amazing, but they did get our order quickly and did their best to get it cooked and out to us as fast as possible. I just wish we had one or two more checkins as we found ourselves in need of some extra napkins and some plastic silverware that's more suitable for our younger boys. The food here was good. For my bo luc lac, it was flavorful and the chunks of beef was large. I just wish there was maybe one or more pieces for the price I was paying. My wife, on the other hand, was really impressed with the pho. She is understandably quite picky on her pho as she grew up with her grandmother making it from scratch almost weekly but after just a few bites she said how good it was. It was one of the best reactions I've seen her have towards pho since we moved out of the greater Westminster area and up to Los Angeles. And if she is going to give it praise, then her word should hold infinitely more weight than anything I have to say. In all, while Mama Hong's isn't the closest of Vietnamese restaurants for us, I know for sure the next time my wife is craving the food she grew up on, she will look for an excuse to come over to Burbank for another bowl. read more

I was looking forward to a nice lunch here. I've had their food to-go before but this was my first time dining in. We walked in soon after they opened. Two things caused me not to order. The first was the pervasive smell of mildew/mold. How can anyone have an appetite after smelling how dingy the stench was? We were asked by the server to choose any available booth. So refreshing to have soup noodles after a day at the warner brothers studio tour. Great food and service here! We tried the pho soup noodle, pork chops vermicelli and shrimp rolls. Doesn't disappoint. I had the pho with chicken breast. The chicken breast is sliced thin and good quality meat. The spring rolls were fresh. Peanut sauce is a bit weak and subtle for my preference. Drinks here are freshly made and served in custom bottles. You pop it open just like any soft drink. This place doesn't take reservations. We came on a Monday around 6:30p in the evening. My go to's are the Appetizer Trio , Shaken Beef Tenderloin Fries , Grilled Ribeye Steak Banh Mi , Combination Fried Rice , and the Traditional Combo Pho. We shared a large pho special (comes with rare steak and meatballs) and it was pretty good. I really liked their broth. I got the traditional pho that has (apparently) wagyu steak, brisket, and tendon. Broth not much flavor, the noodles were still slightly hard bc the broth came out cold. Regarding the "wagyu" steak: I honestly don't believe it bc wagyu is supposed to be fatty and would melt in the pho so I think they just say that to justify their high prices. Which leads me to their price. It cost $18.50 for a tiny regular bowl (see picture). Definitely not worth the price. Weird how this place has a lot of reviews, but I definitely won't be coming back. I've ordered takeout from here twice during my lunch break. The first time was great -- I got the pho, which was really flavorful, and the chicken banh mi was surprisingly good and a generous size. Unfortunately, my second visit wasn't the best experience. When I walked up to the register, two servers completely ignored me. I understand it can get busy, but a simple "we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. While I was waiting, the phone started ringing.
