    Absolutely outstanding. Had a day off and wanted to try something new for lunch, so we decided to go to Katsu plate which has been on the list since they opened up. Sure, we have really good katsu in the area already and some may even say we have too many choices, but this was a really great new addition. Made to order so it took maybe ten minutes for the food to be prepared, but enough seating for four tables or so inside. Super concise menu, tried the sando, katsu Don and kaarage don. Sando with the Dijon, 9/10. Bread could be a bit wider cut to hold it together, but really tasty for $9.50. katsu Don was 8/10, very filling. Kaarage don my son loved the most. Will be back to try the udon

    I came (hungry), I saw (katsu), I conquered (the meal). I almost wanted to gatekeep this gem... but that wouldn't be very Yelpy of me ;) Katsu Plate has been open for just under a year, but has quickly become a local favorite for authentic Japanese tonkatsu (a breaded and deep fried pork cutlet)! It's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant located near Bogota's main street. The menu focuses on tonkatsu and is limited to 4-5 dishes, including a rotating seasonal item. So yes...there's only a few options to choose from, but each one is perfected! There's not much of an ambiance here; it's a no-frills eatery with a minimalistic and casual interior. There's also not a lot of seating available, so takeout might be a better option than dining in. But don't be fooled by the small menu and atmosphere... the food does not disappoint! I ordered: *Katsu Plate [Includes pork cutlet, white rice, miso soup, coleslaw, & katsu sauce] ($14) - First things first, let's get into the presentation. My meal was beautifully arranged on a bamboo tray with matte black plates and utensils. It was love at first sight AND first bite. Now, let's get into why this was so tasty... -The pork was cut into large, thick, tender, and flavorful pieces. -The breading was perfect! Not too thick, greasy, or oily. The panko breadcrumbs were deep fried to a golden-brown color with a satisfying crunch in every bite. -The tangy, sweet, & savory katsu sauce complemented the pork really well. -Miso soup was served piping hot and hit the spot without being overly salty. -Japanese coleslaw (shredded cabbage drizzled with sesame vinaigrette) was so simple, yet so fresh and addicting! *Side of Curry ($3) - Definitely order this with your tonkatsu! While it's tasty on its own, dipping the pork into it takes it to a whole new level of deliciousness~ The curry was thick and aromatic, cooked with a blend of warm spices, onions, potatoes, carrots, and chicken. If you're craving something packed with heat, this might not be up your alley because it's more savory & mild than spicy. *Calpico Soda ($3) - I washed down all that goodness with this Japanese soft drink made with carbonated water, sugar, and cultured nonfat dry milk. It's crisp, refreshing, and citrusy - like a fizzy version of a yogurt drink. Overall, I was impressed with my first visit and will definitely be returning. Don't sleep on this unassuming spot. Everything is made in-house and it shows in the presentation and the quality of the food. You can tell everything is crafted with care. Plus, the prices are reasonable and give you a great value for the portions! No more ripping my hair out in Fort Lee and Edgewater traffic just for some solid tonkatsu! Come get your porky fix and support this (not so) hidden gem in Bogota!

    I didn't even know this place existed until I was scrolling through Yelp and was surprised to see a Korean restaurant opened in Bogota. So, I definitely had to check it out. My friend visited here a few weeks ago so she gave me a rundown of what she ate and shared what she thought about the food, so I knew what to expect. And that same friend was the one who went with his me this time. First of all, this restaurant stood out because the exterior looked much more modern and sleek compared to the exteriors of the other businesses on that street, so that was a nice surprise. And then, the food. My friend said that we must get the katsu plate and to add more umami to it, we got a side of curry to dip the katsu pieces into, which was good. We also got the mentaiko cream udon, which was delicious with a little kick to it. It seems like this is part of their fall menu, which means that this dish could be available only for the fall. But hopefully this something that they will continue to have. A few things to be aware of before you go: -Their menu is very simple with mainly katsu dishes and that's all they focus on, so don't expect an extensive menu. -It's metered and street parking. There's street parking to the side. -I heard that once they are sold out, they close for the day. So, if you are planning to go a little later, make sure to call and see what is available. -Seating is very limited so this is not a good place for big groups. They have 2 tables with 4 seats and 3 tables with 2 seats.

    Limited menu, so expectations are high. They're close, but not quite there yet. The tonkatsu had good flavor but came out a bit soggy, which kept it from being a 5 star dish for me. Too much sauce. It would've been way better if some of it was on the side so the breading stayed crisp. I do like the minimal setup though. Small spot, limited seating and kind of a takeout feel, but it fits the concept. You can tell there's thought behind the menu it just needs a bit more dialing in. Overall it's decent, but if I'm really craving tonkatsu I'd probably go somewhere else.

    Katsu Plate lives up to its name, serving katsu cooked to perfection. With a simple, focused menu (only about five items), they offer great portions and execution, making it a standout spot We tried the katsu don, katsu plate and katsu sandwich and were all delicious

    Katsu plate is small but has a good amount of seating. And the parking is street parking but not difficult at all! The service was very warm and friendly. I came here for a pickup order of the katsu plates, karaage, and curry! The katsu plate comes with rice salad and miso soup. Everything was delicious and they make sure you have all the sauces you need. I would definitely come back!

    When I saw that a new katsu place had opened up in my neighborhood, I was over the moon. Bogota is bereft of good Asian food and with katsu being one of my main food groups, I knew I had to give this spot a try. The offerings are slim and that's by design. The menu (and the small seating area) are optimized for quality, and it shows. Everything from the breadcrumbs to the broth for the miso soup are made in house between a dedicated two-person crew (one of which is the owner). The katsu cutlets are thick and meaty - not pounded super thin like other katsu places that try to cut costs. We were surprised that a deep-fried food could also taste so light and ungreasy. The cabbage salad was another delight. It feels silly to praise a side salad at a katsu restaurant, but that sesame dressing was exceptional. Along with the katsu-centric menu, there's a slot reserved for seasonal items. At the moment, it's a bowl of soba, which is a special summer favorite of mine. Here, the noodles are cooked perfectly and served in a refreshing dashi broth. I appreciated the dab of wasabi that was on the side of the bowl, available to mix in to each diner's taste. I can't wait to see what fall and winter items will be coming in next. We had a chance to chat with the owner, who was full of good cheer and eager to chat about his new restaurant. We not only left feeling completely stuffed but also like we'd made a new friend. If there's even a single downside to this place, it's that word's out. It's gotten so popular that they're sometimes sold out well before closing time. My husband and I were lucky enough to slip in through the door before they changed the sign to 'closed', but I saw a few disappointed faces at the door. So word to the wise: either get here fast or phone in your orders ahead of time, or I'll snag the last bites before you.

    The tonkatsu set here is outstanding. Perfectly golden, shatteringly crispy panko crust with the most juicy, tender pork inside -- you can see from the cut that it's cooked just right, still pink and succulent in the center. The portion is generous too. Loved the full set presentation on the wooden tray -- rice, miso soup, shredded cabbage salad with a creamy sesame dressing, and tonkatsu sauce on the side. Everything came out hot and fresh. This is the kind of katsu that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. Will definitely be back.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    The katsu was cooked perfectly- crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The breading was not greasy and the meat was seasoned just right. I also loved the attention to detail in the presentation. The house-made dressing for the cabbage and the homemade miso soup was very delicious and a good complement to the pork katsu. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. They also recently added soba to their menu so I will definitely go back to try it out soon!

    Hands down the BEST I've ever had! The owner was super welcoming, the place was spotless, and the food? Listen--so good it had me literally dancing in my seat! If you're looking for your new go-to spot, THIS is the place. I'm already planning my next visit!

    Stop by and get the Katsudon plate. This is the best that I have ever tasted. The owner is so nice and keeps a very clean shop.

Even though they were very thin wonton wrappers with a smaller amount of filling, they tasted consistent with other shrimp wontons from past restaurants, accompanied by Menma Bamboo, Scallions, and Egg. The Fried Chicken was well seasoned. The food overall remained authentic and incredibly flavorful and on point. The portion was very generous. Friendly service, and the price was reasonable. My dining partner and I were seated rather quickly. Our server took our drink orders and came back promptly so we could order our food. They didn't come all at once so I assume they bring them out as they finish getting grilled. The chicken heart was some of the best I've ever had. It had so much crunch that it was almost like it was fried. The flavors were rich and varied. Each skewer cost upwards of $4 so that's a bummer. Unfortunately the ramen wasn't so great. Not terrible, but not great either. Especially not great for $19. Not my first choice for ramen. Is it the most bang for your buck? Certainly not. Look at my picture I'm shocked they thought this was acceptable to bring to our table. The food itself may be authentic, but everything else about the experience dragged it down. The dish also comes with a sauce that you can either pour over the plate or use as a dip. I personally preferred dipping the fried chicken instead of pouring the sauce over everything, which kept the chicken crispy. The combination of fried chicken, noodles, shrimp, and the spicy flavor worked really well together. I really enjoyed it, and this has definitely become one of my favorite dish of this food stands inside the H-Mark market. The food court is shared with other food stamp. There's always a table that you could grab because people tend to eat and leave fast. And there is always a staff ready to clean the tables if they're dirty. What I love about looking at the items in the restaurant is how they go from traditional to contemporary. The servers were the sweetest, they all were extremely hospitable. All I can say is, I'll be back and if you go... you may see me there.
