Just completed our 3rd move with Katz (two within NYC, and the most recent from NYC to Maplewood, NJ). The fact that I'm a repeat customer says it all -- Katz has always been professional, transparent, fast, and efficient in a category that is generally not these things. Katz has always made the terrible process of moving better for us, even when something does go wrong -- in our most recent move, the movers were very delayed in getting started, but Bjorn (head of operations) made it right by giving us a discount right away, and showing up on site to get things started himself. And Vincent, Wade, Robert, and Mike (the crew of movers) did an amazing job caring for our stuff, all made harder by moving on an absolute scorcher of a day (over 100 degrees). In fact it was the second time Vincent and his crew moved us, and he (and all of them) were great. Horrible, unprofessional moving service. We contracted for a full service move including packing and unpacking. The movers came with insufficient supplies, and didn't use Katz' crates or any of the environmentally friendly products advertised on the website. They ran out of packing supplies mid-packing and instead of procuring more, picked up thin advertisement papers off the side of the street and packed fragile items in single sheets or just threw them into overstuffed boxes. Many items predictably shattered. We lost cherished wedding gifts and items brought back from travels that we specifically asked be handled with care. On the day of the move, we were also told by the movers that they don't do unpacking even though we had paid specifically for this service and our contract stated as much. After multiple arguments and calls to management, movers were told to comply. Yet when we arrived at the destination they again refused to unpack and got angry with us for making "unreasonable demands." They ended up unpacking only a handful of our many boxes, and only after repeated arguments. When we called Katz the next day, customer service apologized and told us to file claims for broken items and that they'd refund the unpacking fee given that we did not receive the service we had paid for. But Jon ultimately offered only a $100 gift certificate to make up for broken items totaling hundreds of dollars, and never followed through on refunding the unpacking fee that we had been assured would be refunded. Now they have stopped responding altogether. It's one thing to subcontract out to incompetent movers, another to refuse to take any responsibility for their incompetence. I was completely blown away by the service I received from Katz Moving I was moving to a condominium building and the concierge sent out a blast to different moving companies and Katz came in with the lowest bid. I was apprehensive about accepting the lowest bid to be honest because I was afraid that my stuff might be more likely to get damaged. Boy was I wrong though. I ended up conversing with three different moving companies and right away Katz made me feel the most comfortable. I was super concerned about not having any monetary surprises the day of the move so Etai did a zoom meeting with me to analyze the items in my apartment and make sure I had an accurate bid and would not be blindsided on moving day. Etai was also helpful in coordinating all the logistics of my move after I decided to go with Katz. Even though the set up of the move went well I was not setting the bar too high for the actual movers. I have not had particularly pleasant experiences with any mover in the past. I figured I would just need to bribe them with a nice tip and beg them to please not break the few most important items. Yerson, Alan, and Ray exceeded my expectations by 1000. They were extremely kind, professional and treated everything with such great care I didn't feel I needed to emphasize anything. I know I will be talking about how great this move was for years to come, and when I am ready to move again I will definitely be doing business with Katz. The worst moving experience I have ever had. I've moved many times and am not particularly picky about these type of things, but my gosh, any other option is better than Katz. I'm not joking, a rando off of Craigslist would probably be a more pleasant experience. Below are the bullet points of my awful experience, and you will never get a response from Katz (Dominic, Bjorn and Jermaine) if you have any follow up items like building damages, lost items or broken items. 1. Extremely Late- Came 4 hours late. When you are managing moves, rentals, pets, and kids, this is very annoying. 2. Pressure to tip before work is done- Before work is started, applied heavy pressure to my wife to tip 20%. Made her very uncomfortable. This was not professional. 3. 5 month credit card dispute to pay for damages- Items were broken, missing and there was considerable damage to my hallway. These things happen, but Katz' response was dreadful. They told me to file a claim, and when I did, then proceeded to ignore 6 emails and 2 phone calls. I then had to file a claim with my credit card to dispute the claim, and then the deception started. They lied and said they responded, and sent one note saying they wanted to help with a claim. Then ignored me for another couple months! Long story short, they forced me to get appraisals for the damage, print email exchanges (or lack there of) for the credit card company and overall wasted so many of hours of my life. It feels like this place is run by a couple of middle school kids trying to pull off their first scheme. Also, how do you break pots and pans? And stealing sneakers? SMH read more

This company is the worst! Shameful. I don't post reviews so that tells you how bad my experience was. Story below: I moved over the weekend which was a nightmare from day one. I had a full pack service on Friday into a move on Saturday. I had a full townhouse with 3 floors needless to say it was a big job that required 2 trucks. I spent in total $6000. I had to get this move done As quickly and efficiently as possible. What was promised: I was told that on day one (Friday) there would be a crew of about 8 guys to pack us up, and the trucks loaded. Reality: 3 guys show up packed one floor and left around 4pm. It was explained to me that the company was heavily booked that day. What was promised: I was told on day two (Saturday) that we would be packed loaded and at final destination before noon, so I reserved an entire street in front of my new home to accommodate 2 trucks from 8am-12noon. At $40 a pop per parking space (that was a waste of money) Reality: Left around 4pm and didn't arrive at the final destination until after 5pm. At this point I left to go to work and when I returned around 11pm at night they were nowhere close to being completed. This threw my timetable that I had planned to unpack and get situated on Saturday out the window. They didn't end up leaving until 1am on Saturday! What company keeps a paying customer up until 1am at night? On top of that it was like bomb went off! Damage: At the end of the day I lost Wine glasses Bed frame An ENTIRE wardrobe box! And damage to one of my dresser drawers. 2 huge gashes in the wall along my staircase The packers didn't have enough space on the trucks so they had to leave a ton of packing material in my driveway. Dispatch said it was going to be picked up same day. I drove back the next day around 9pm and it was still there. I sourced out quotes from 3 different companies. And in the end went with Katz based upon a personal reference from a close friend of mine. My experience was so unbelievably bad I need to #1 question this person's friendship. I included photos below. 1. My bed frame in good condition 2. My bed frame after they destroyed it 3. Gauge on my dresser 4. All the garbage they left from the second truck they had to bring, but was full. They unloaded the contents in my driveway and never picked it up. 4. Gashes they put into the walls of my NEW apartment! (Never fixed them) 5. The crushed corner of my dining table which is a one of a kind wood slab. BEWARE! Hopefully this review will prevent at least one person to pass on these guys. I'm the easiest going guy in the world, but after dealing with these guys and giving them the opportunity to make it right they have failed miserably at that as well. A quick update - I heard from the owner and he has been extremely apologetic, along with the original person I worked with, Frank. They have since gone back and promised to honor the original quote that was given. The company has been extremely quick in responding and coordinating with me. They definitely earned a 5 star rating on the day of my move. Danny and Keyshawn were efficient and personable. They made sure my moving day was as stressless as possible. We even shared a few laughs and I threw in extra tip money because they certainly deserved it. Thank you for everything. PSA - Sometimes companies screw up. People aren't perfect, it happens. At least I can say that unlike most companies, Katz cares about their reputation and customer experience and will do whatever they can to acknowledge and fix what happens. This was our second time using Katz and everything was great except for one MAJOR issue. Based on the amount of inventory we had, Katz told us that this would be a four man job. On the day of, they sent over only two men (with one additional person more than half way into the move). Among other issues (detailed below), this resulted in the move being completed 3 hours behind schedule at 9pm and we were not able to sleep in our new place as everything was still boxed up. I sent the below email to Katz, hoping for some sort of compensation, but received no response from owner: We had a good experience with Katz during our first move and frankly, we were very disappointed in the result of our recent move. This is not reflective of the service we received from the main two movers, as they did a great job, but more for the fact that this was a four man job as you had promised in your email with the quote, and we had half that man power. The move completed 3 hours behind schedule. My husband and I had to take turns standing outside in the cold to keep an eye out on the van. When crates were brought over to unpack, they were not labeled and because we were short on time, everything had to be dumped into one bedroom instead of trying to separate into their respective areas. At the very end, the dining table was not put back together properly, and everyone just gave up as it was getting late, and the boss kept calling for them to finish up. Lastly, since we completed 3 hours behind schedule, my husband and I weren't able to unpack and we ended up not sleeping in our apartment. We're providing honest feedback as we'd like to use Katz when we move again and would appreciate some money back to make up for the inconvenience. read more

I am a bit in shock - Katz Moving decided they would cancel on me - the day of the move 2 hours and 30 minutes after they were supposed to start, despite a signed contract and 25% deposit, with this message from Dominic Kostic: "We were supposed to go with a 3 man crew and add one more mover in NY since you have 4 flights of stairs but one mover quit this morning at 6am due to an emergency that was supposed to come in CT." I tried to contact the "registered owners " Jon Mikey Katz and Yulianna Monus-Katz, based in Israel, but of course did not get a response. Given that they are registered in a P.O. Unfortunately, I had to move again. But lucky for me, I decided to use movers from Katz again. I am so grateful and fortunate that I had great movers every time I moved with this company (this is the THIRD time). I would especially like to recognize Francisco and Jordan for all their hard work. They were amazing and so professional from beginning to end. They are very organized and recognized what was needed for every situation. They were so grateful for the lunch I ordered but that was nothing compared to the fantastic and efficient work they do. They had a very positive attitude throughout and I know for sure this is not the easiest job. I know how stressful moving is but Francisco and Jordan absolutely made it so stress free and even told me to rest while they're running circles around me. They took extra care to wrap each and every item and made sure to take special care to the couch since I was very nervous to move into my home that's still under heavy renovation. Great job Jordan and Francisco and Katz company for keeping such good people on staff. We just finished our third move with Katz Moving. The first was a cross-country move to NYC, the second was from Washington Heights to Brooklyn, and this most recent one was within Brooklyn. Katz packed and prepared our 2 bedroom apartment on a Sunday. Their team arrived around 9:30a and were so fast and efficient that they were done around noon. They cleaned up after themselves and arranged the reusable moving bins and wrapped furniture so that we could still walk around the apartment safely. Many of the same guys who packed our place returned the next day as a part of the moving team. They arrived around the same time, as promised, and loaded their truck just as quickly and efficiently as they had packed everything. This was particularly astounding since we'd had a small snow storm the night before and the sidewalks and roads were snowy and icy. They unloaded the truck quickly and had us in our new home before 3:00p. Nothing was damaged in transit and none of our possessions went missing. As has been my experience in the past, all of their employees were courteous, hard working, and accommodating of reasonable requests. For example, my wife joked about how she's a germaphobe about keeping our mattress clean. They happily took it seriously and double wrapped it in plastic to ensure it touched nothing during the move. We hired Katz based totally on their Yelp reviews. I do not believe that there could be so many excellent reviews that were fake or biased. I was not disappointed. Absolutely atrocious customer service by Ina. I honesty don't even know where to begin. For starters, our movers left part of our table outside and then made a huge ordeal when we requested they come and pick them up from our apartment. The only reason we even realized this happen is because on the way on the way to work the morning following my move, I left my apartment only to find my table legs leaning against a fence. The company did, however, offer to store them until we arrived back in NYC or to ship them to our next location. We were perfectly okay with the arrangement since Katz's did seem to be taking responsibility for their mistake. We both agreed that it would be easiest and cheapest for everyone if Katz just redelivered our legs to our storage unit. So we called back when before we were coming back to New York to take our stuff out of storage and, of course, we were unable to get a hold of anyone before we arrived back in New York. The first day back in New York, we called again and again. When we did get ahold of Ina, she said that they had to locate the legs and that we would get a phone call back the same day. Well, that day ended and no phone call from Ina. The following day we called and once again, no one answered. Then on the last day, we called Ina again. And she said that they still had not located the legs and would call back later that day. Also I would like to point out that less than half of these conversations would happen on the phone. My spouse and I would call, leave a message and then Ina would send back a half hearted/bothered email. So we leave New York and we arrive at our next home. We still have an exceedingly difficult time getting ahold of Ina and, like noted, the only way she replies to our phone calls is through emails- it also usually took two or three phone calls to get a single response from Ina. So after several weeks of Ina blowing my spouse and I off, I decide to call her directly. Of course, no one answers so I leave a voicemail. Much to my surprise, I get a phone call back from Ina. She then starts to blame my spouse for everything and then says that she was never made aware that we were leaving New York. That was lie #1 to "my face". She then says that Katz's never said they would ship is our missing items AFTER they lost them, lie #2. She also says that we should have been responsible for shipping them but Katz was "doing us a favor" by shipping them for us. She then continues to raise her voice at me and get even more defensive. Continuously saying that it's not her fault and that it's the people in the facility that have not located our legs. I tell her that I understand it's not her fault, but it's been almost three weeks since we had the initial response from her so I am clearly frustrated since because of Katz's mistake. We did not have a table for the holidays, birthdays, etc. So as we wrap up our phone call, Ina says that she will call me directly tomorrow. I ask her if she really will since we have not had any kind of consistent feedback from her and she says yes. Well, nearly two weeks later and no phone call, of course. No surprise there. Except suddenly, my spouse gets an email from the illusive Ina! They say they have located our table legs! Fan-freaking-tasting! Except it's now been over a month since we contacted you and, like noted, have not had a table so we have been eating or meals either cross legged on the floor or sitting on our countertops. Our other movers were able to repack, reship and redeliver our stuff over 1500 miles away in half the time it took Ina to respond to us. I would also like to point out that when we asked to speak to the manager we were told that was not possible since we had to deal directly with Ina since we started with her. Then when we asked to speak to the owner, we were told Jon (I apologize if I misspelled your name) is a very busy man and would not be available for us to speak with. After much protest from a male employee who answered the phone, we were able to get an email for Jon. However, with the already less than subpar interactions I had with multiple employees, not just Ina, I did not believe it would be any sort of productive conversation so I honestly didn't even bother sending him a direct email. Furthermore, why would the owner of the company not have a direct phone number I could contact him with. I understand not giving that number out easily but to say that he, point blank, does not have a number and would not speak to us is ridiculous. So thanks, Ina and Friends, I really appreciate your help. I have made sure to recommend to all my friends not to use Katz's because customer service was a solid 1 on the scale of 1 to 10. read more

We paid about the same as our previous move, despite moving more stuff, and moving further- this time we moved over 80 boxes plus furniture and 2 large bins of big or odd shaped stuff from LIC to Williamsburg (a full big truck) compared to 70 boxes and less furniture just a few blocks within LIC last time (smaller truck). A couple of old lamps did get damaged in the process - despite best efforts- and we were compensated without trouble. No hidden costs. All very up front, with accurate estimate of required boxes. This is my second time working with Katz (first was in 2015) and it has gone fantastic. I have a complicated two part move, where I am relocating part of our things from NYC to DC where I have an apartment for a new job. Additionally, I am keeping a smaller place in NYC and they are handling that local move as well. Frank worked with me to find the lowest cost option for the DC leg where I was part of another delivery which saved me a good chunk of money. The DC leg was completed last Friday with the delivery taking place during the huge nor-easter windstorm (50-60 mph winds). Not only did they keep the date, they left NYC at 3am and were early to my place. The foreman, Ta'Leon, and Vincent were curious and incredibly helpful all along the way. I learned later from Frank (who has been fantastic as all the coordination and setup) that the return trip to DC took 21 hours and was incredibly onerous. All I have to say, is the Katz team went above and beyond to ensure of a successful completion of the job. Given how things have gone so far, I can only assume that the final portion of my move in NYC will be flawless. Cannot recommend them any higher. Definitely call Katz. read more

I had a really good experience with Katz for my move. I got a few quotes from different companies and Katz was the best I had gotten so that's why I ended up choosing them. My actual move was well organized. Everyone wore a mask the entire time and very polite. I hadn't realized that my previous movers had actually stripped all of the screws on my bed which made it very difficult to take apart. But the movers took their time and kept me updated. Eventually it was worked out, I was very happy with their extra attention to that. Everything else went just as you would expect with a move. Just had another (now 2) fantastic experiences using Katz for my moving needs, so figured I should leave a review and get this on the books. Booking was very easy, and the price was so competitive (for moving into a 2BR/2BA) that I did not seek other quotes. The Foreman for our move was Nigel, he arrived a bit ahead of the window to make sure everything was all-set and check out the departure apartment. The rest of the crew showed up shortly after. Even though I'd seen the Katz approach in action before, I continued to be amazed by the professionalism, quality. and speed of the move. They even disassembled and re-assembled my bed more intricately than I'd though necessary (to avoid any risk the frame not fitting in the elevators). The crew also took special care of the delicate boxes and electronics, especially w/ a 65" OLED TV that I felt pretty nervous about (no dings or scratches). I don't plan to move for awhile now - but rest assured if I do pack my boxes again it'd only be after having picked up the phone and making a call to Katz! read more

Horrible moving company they lied about there quote and created a ton of other problems. They left my stuff stored overnight in a truck on the street unlocked and all my valuables were stolen. If anyone was considering using them don't do worst company ever So now after over a week passed he's deleted a bunch of negative comments trying to discredit my review still not owning up after it's clear they will be reported for the egregious service and follow up. It's also hilarious to see every negative review he comments on saying they have the wrong company and no one by the name listed. Leon d is a perfect example. A real business owner would address issues properly and not lie to scam new clients into thinking they are trustworthy. I had the BEST experience with this moving company. Came to NYC to move my daughter and had a nightmare situation with another moving company. Katz's came to the rescue and were the consummate professionals. They did everything they promised, on time, and exceeded my expectations. I called Katz Moving after researching some moving companies online and I was pleased with their services. Nemanja was my point of contact, and he quoted me fairly based on the date I wanted to move, my belongings inventory and the number of steps the movers would have to climb. The day before the move, I was given a 2 hour window of when the movers would arrive. On moving day the movers called me twice to update me on when they would arrive, and they showed up right on time toward the front end of the time frame I was given the day before. Care was taken to ensure my belongings were moved safely with no damage. There are 2 reasons I went with 4 stars and not 5. The first is that one of the movers took a 30 minute break because his leg was hurting. I empathized with him, but that made the other guy do twice as much work and prolonged the moving process. The second reason is that the movers told me there was a mandatory 20% gratuity for their assistance. I asked to see the contact to read that for myself, and after some brief hesitation I got the contract and read it over. Nowhere did it say anything about a 20% gratuity. I tipped the movers each appropriately and thanked them for the help. Outside of these two minor incidents, I was happy with the service the movers provided me. After the move, Nemanja followed up with me about the move details. The customer service and help from Katz Moving was great, and I would use them again next time! read more

Our move from UWS to Jersey City was as easy as could be and worth every penny. Ina was very responsive via email and quickly provided us with a moving quote. Their rates are affordable--definitely not the cheapest--but that was okay with us because you get what you pay for, right? They were also able to furnish a COI for our new building in a matter of minutes. The moving men showed up right on time and were very professional and friendly, and they handled all of our belongings with care. They got right to work and had us completely moved out of our 400 sqft studio and into our new place in 3-4 hours. Yes, our entire move only took only a few hours and we didn't have to break a sweat! Granted, we did pack up all of our belongings nicely and securely before the move, leaving them with only a few large items to package themselves, but still we were impressed. Moving is stressful and Katz Moving alleviated all of the stress and concern that is usually move in day. This is actually my third time moving with Katz Moving and I would only ever consider this company to move my beloved items because of the care and professionalism of this group! On move in day the guys showed up right on time with all the supplies needed to move every single item and more. I have several antique furniture pieces and the guys were extremely careful in moving these pieces and there was not a single scratch on these items. Also, the movers were extremely careful with all of my items - not just the antique pieces! We moved two whole apartments into one apartment and although we had some extra items - we were on time with the whole move! The manager called me later on in the day to check in and make sure everything went well - and it did. I really appreciated this check in. Moving is extremely stressful as we all know, but the pros at Katz really mitigate a lot of that anxiety. I dealt with the nicest people from Ina, who was my initial contact and provided me with the moving quote, to Dean, who provided me with an update and ETA on the arrival of the movers, and then the two movers themselves, Dwayne and James, who worked tirelessly and efficiently and went above and beyond packing our belongings and going the extra mile (or two), even during an NYC heat wave, it couldn't have gone better! The pricing was reasonable, and there was the added benefit of purchasing a yelp deal ($50 for $100 towards the bill), and Katz policies are much more favorable than other places I had researched. Here are some examples: 1) If the moving truck gets a ticket for parking in a restricted area, the company takes care of it. 2) The quote they provide is binding. There will be no surprises when you pay your balance. Rest assured, the amount on your signed the contract, less a deposit, will be exactly what you'll pay on the day of the move. (They accept cash or credit card). 3) Regardless of the length of the move, the quoted rate remains unchanged (i.e., whether the movers take 4 hours or 6 hours, you will not get charged extra). Even though we had packed and moved a lot of our own things, and even rented a U-Haul (BTW, they're awesome), hiring Katz to move the larger pieces of furniture (they disassembled and reassembled our queen sized bed), was a great decision because it saved us so much time and energy. It was definitely worth it. If you are needing a recommendation, here's mine - seek no further, Katz Movers are the way to go. Also! Be sure to take care of the movers.. we had a case of water bottles, and a roll of paper towels since our guys were working under 90+ degrees and needed to keep hydrated, and dry. Katz Moving was by far one of the most professional movers I have ever worked with. Jon is amazing - did a walk-through of our apartment, recording everything we were moving with. We had a special situation; we were fumigating all of our belongings before moving into a new apartment. Jon was completely versed in what to do, gave us excellent advice and was incredibly supportive. Also, he emailed and texted updates on arrival time - plus sent all documents over email! ++ for being green and efficient!! The day we were supposed to move our things into our new apartment, I had a minor moment of paranoia. Jon completely understood, found a solution and expedited it. The gentlemen that work with Jon doing the actual labor are some of the kindest, efficient, fantastic men ever. After 2 horrific moving experiences within the last year, I told myself I should just resign to paying up for a good experience. Luckily I got both with Katz! Dean came to survey my apartment 2 weeks prior to my desired move date, and gave me a quote on the spot. It was the second lowest quote I got from the top 5-10 moving companies on Yelp, and I felt better knowing Katz's quote was binding based on what they saw in my apartment. After I finally started packing, I was also able to give him an updated inventory list to adjust pricing right up until before the move. He made sure to confirm my date and time TWICE leading up to the date and insurance was taken care of at both buildings a week in advance. Now on the day of the move, even though we were told we'd get 3 guys, 4 actually showed up! Joshua, John, Renaldo and Jermaine were absolutely amazing. Nothing seemed to be too heavy for these guys and they were SO thorough in wrapping up my stuff (even the items that were already banged up from a previous move...). They were scheduled to arrive between 8:00am-8:30am, and texted me at 7:00am to let me know they'd be arriving around 8:15am and were knocking by 8:11am. While I don't want to ever move again I'd definitely call Katz if I did. read more

The last time we moved, we carried our clothes in garbage bags hurriedly tossed into the back of an SUV that sped off into the night. Eight years later: life's a little better. We have some IKEA pieces that could be used for kindling in bad-case scenarios and about four dozen boxes. My wife makes it clear that we're getting movers. She's a nurse so if she gets injured moving furniture from our walk-up, we are screwed. A coworker told me that I could do my job as a wired-up brain in a jar. Probably. We did research and requested quotes before going with Katz. I spoke first with Joe Falzone, who gave us a fair price and was responsive to updates as we zeroed in on an accurate inventory over the course of a month. The day of the move itself, a four-man team descended on our apartment slightly ahead of schedule. They called themselves "Seal Team Maine." Despite the combat-ready label, they were instantly likable guys with names that all began with "J": John, Joshua, Jermaine, and Jalanie. Seal Team Maine is cooler than J-Team, I agree. I stared goggle-eyed as a month's worth of packing disappeared into their truck in about half an hour. The furniture took another 45 minutes to wrap in padding. At the new location, they asked where we wanted everything, and when they noticed that I was sleepily checking items off a spreadsheet, they knew what I needed and began calling out each box number on their own. From door to door, this display of staggeringly casual prowess took maybe four hours. It was the biggest move of our lives and the calmest part was the move itself thanks to these guys. With the energy we saved, we unpacked and had our daughter enjoying her new room within two days. I was hoping that the process might accidentally destroy our IKEA LAK table (what an appropriate name) but everything was pristine. Thank you. read more

They want to make sure every item is carefully packed. From paintings to a 100 million year old, 300 pound geode crystal, they examine, solve, and move effortlessly. From the initial contact to the estimate to moving day, everything was seamless. They were also easy reached with follow up questions. Nemanja was great to work with on the sales end - very responsive and provided a free in home quote - but our actual move was a very meh experience. For how much we spent, I definitely expected a much better experience. Of the 4 movers guaranteed for our loading, 2 came in quite late - one 30min late, the other a whopping 2 hrs late Several movers took personal phone calls - e.g. talking about dates - which slowed them down and was unprofessional. The movers didn't notify me or my husband when they left my old building in Manhattan and begin driving up to Westchester. In fact, we were looking for them in the loading dock but couldn't find them and had to call Katz to confirm whether they had begun driving? Despite my husband and I leaving by car 20min after the truck, we arrived 40min prior. I was concerned due to zero communication and status of where they were and had to go through Katz to reach the movers, who only then called to let me know they were in traffic. I was surprised by their long drive to be honest given we had taken a similar route. Finally, 2 of the movers approached my husband during loading time to ask about tip - saying generally it's 15-20% - even though the job had just started and one of them arrived 30min late. Again, I found this to be unprofessional and not in good taste. Ultimately, the job was done with a few small nicks but I was expecting a much better experience. After the move with much outreach sharing the feedback, I was provided a small reimbursement for the poor experience. Thus, instead of providing 2 stars, I'm offering 3. Moving is the one of the most stressful experiences and while I appreciate the financial gesture at the end, which I had to work hard to receive, I wouldn't recommend their service based on the experience I had. read more

They are incredible! Moved with Katz in the spring (late writing this, my bad). What a moving experience! In every sense of the word. They were incredibly communicative, incredibly accurate with the estimate, incredibly careful packing, incredibly pleasant to deal with, incredibly efficient and incredibly talented in taking apart then putting together the furniture upon arrival to the new place. Overall, an incredibly good experience (which is rare in the moving biz). Used Katz for my move from Manhattan to Brooklyn 2 weeks ago. Their response rate was phenomenal, and they were quick to provide all necessary documents to my building management office. Three men showed up for the move. They were efficient, courteous, and extremely professional. And they really took care of our fragile items and furnitures. Why the missing star? Some of the boxes were delivered to the wrong floor of my triplex. Which means my husband and I ended up having to haul them upstairs ourselves. Also they forgot to include bubble wrap in my packing supply order although I specifically asked for them. I was refunded for the $, but it was a little annoying having to go to the store, in the midst of packing, for 8 rolls of bubble wraps and carry them home. Not a big deal though since they were super light... Just bulky. Overall, it was a pleasant experience working with Katz. Their workers definitely are wonderful assets to their company. I don't think I have met nicer and calmer people in the city. read more

Not only did they exceed all my expectations from a moving company but the movers were amazingly QUICK, efficient, KIND and SOOOO helpful. Moving is stressful and I could not have been happier with my positive experience from these guys who made it completely seamless.
