Our famil 3 adults 2 kids ate her today 10:30 pm. The restaurant was clean and had a good vibe. The music was at a nice level and the temperature was just right. There were about 5 other tables. The staff was excellent our server was Kevin. He was excellent the drinks were never empty and he got our appetizer out fast. It was DELICIOUS the fried pickles were crunchy and juicy. So good. My husband got the burger with cream cheese jalapeños and onion rings the burger was a perfect med cook and the crunchy onion rings dipped in ranch. Chefs kiss. My adult so got the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and onion rings the chicken was juicy and fried Perfectly. one of our daughters got the kids, spaghetti and meatballs with strawberries. The strawberries were fresh and tasty. Our youngest got the pancake, and she loved that the syrup came in a miniature container, she could pour it on herself. Today was my first time at Katz's. I got fried pickles as an appetizer. I got the empire state state bbq burger. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. The other person I was with got penne pasta with alfredo sauce and chicken. He said it was very rich and delicious. Also, we had an extremely polite waiter, named Mason. Been to the downtown location for a late dinner run and wanted to come and try this place for breakfast. We were not disappointed at all. We love coming to Katz's! The Philly Cheese Steak Classic is my go to whenever I head there, but it is hard to beat the Ruben. Katz's is open 24 hours but keeps the vibe like they were expecting you even when it is after 10pm. In an age when everyone closes at 9pm, Katz's is a welcome change. Service is always phenomenal and we are treated like family. Jim Black is our go to server. He is always friendly and attentive. Even when he isn't our server, he makes sure we are taken care of. I can't think of a time when the manager doesn't check on us. Also don't forget to grab a Lisa's Waffle for dessert. You will thank me later. Breakfast is always good and always available. I've had Katz before, this one in the woodlands is just sub par compared to the others. Food quality was really bad. Everything just tasted old and dried out. customer service is pretty lacking I literally pointed on the menu what I wanted and the waiter ended up putting in the wrong thing on the computer which resulted in me being over charged. Came in tonight after multiple visits. The service was great but the food was awful! My BBQ burger was hard and tasted like charcoal. the mushrooms were old.the bread was burnt. I only ate 2 bites. The menu stated my sandwich comes with mayo but didnt. The onion rings we're undercooked soggy and greasy. I enjoyed the complimentary coleslaw more than the burger. The cook was in the kitchen eating with his bare hands and no gloves. So can assume he was handling my food with bare hands? Also the Mexican music playing in the kitchen was loud I couldn't enjoy the music in the restaurant. I never really liked this place but my BF loves this place. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the 'Nosh Basket' we had for an appetizer was good. Everything else was truly awful. My husband had meatloaf with stuffing and potatoes and I had turkey with stuffing and potatoes. It was all microwaved and had NO flavor. The turkey tasted like they'd pulled it off a sandwich. The gravy was like brown jelly. I've seriously had better food at my son's elementary school cafeteria. My son managed to eat one of his mini cheeseburgers but would not touch the "Mac and cheese" and once I tried it, I understood why. It's buttered noodles with melted cheddar cheese on top. My mom and I visited here for lunch today after a long day of shopping! The owner was working the kitchen and roaming the restaurant so I knew the food would be top notch this time..which it was! I got the Express Phili. Cheesesteak. SO HOT AND SO GOOD. It is the smallest sandwich you can get, but still big enough where you can't finish it! My mom got the French Dip and said it was amazing! Awful. 80 waiters and empty establishment. Had to wave to get some ketchup bc waiter didn't come around to check if we needed anything. Manager walking around never asked us if we needed anything. And it was empty. Food took forever my bf's sandwich was waiting on the line for for 10 minwhile mine still wasn't out, mine was cold my pastrami was cold, bread not toasted, cheese cold and I went in with a desire to have a melted hot sandwich. So why did mine take longer it didn't even hit the oven? Asked Philip (our waiter) if the sandwiches unless requested come out hot. He said yea you have to tell me. I love delis. This was our second time here. The atmosphere is fun. You order at a counter, and get your own drink. You can also help yourself to free pickles. I had the vegetarian reuben, it was good, but I felt like it had way too much sauerkraut on it. My husband had the french dip, and thought it was good. They offer you homemade chips with your sandwich, but there is an uncharge to get french fries instead. They are both fried potatoes so I do not understand this practice, I think it's really annoying. The chips are not very good. At the end of the day I don't feel like the two sandwiches we had were worth what we ended up spending. While it may not be as good as the NYC location, you will find a ton of flavorful sandwiches served up in three sizes - Express size (5oz of meat $8.29), Klassic (7.5oz of meat $12.29), and New York size (10oz of meat $16.29). My wife went with their Scottish Smoked Salmon Sandwich (Fresh - never frozen-Scottish Smoked Salmon with lettuce, tomatoes, capers, purple onion and cream cheese on toasted rye). Other than too much cream cheese for her liking, she absolutely loved the sandwich. The salmon was very nicely smoked and plentiful. All the other ingredients blended together for a delicious, melt in your mouth taste explosion. I didn't know what to choose so I ended up with the Katz Meow (Pastrami, corned beef, turkey breast, roast beef, lettuce, tomato, and Russian dressing on a French roll). WOW! This was the best sandwich I've had in a very long time. The quality and variety of meats was outstanding. The fresh vegetables gave a bit of crispness to the sandwich. And the French roll had a chewy outer crust texture that was softened on the inside by the Russian dressing. Yum! Katz's also had free pickles for dine-in customers (take out, too but they limited you to 2 or 3). These pickles alone are worth the trip - briny, crunchy, delicious! We also shared a piece of their carrot cake. This is a huge slice with a tiny dollop of whipped cream. I don't know if they make this themselves or have a supplier, but the cake was also outstanding! We loved it. Other than sandwiches they offer some entrees (which I have never tried). The one thing I saw another person order was this giant chili dog. If it tastes half as good as it looks, I'll be tempted to buy it the next time I'm at Katz's. I was thinking of giving 5 stars but the one thing that stopped me was their order placing - slow... I don't know if the kid at the register was new, but he was slower than a snail wading through syrup! I decided to grab lunch for work on my way to work and Katz was open because they are always open. I opted to call ahead and ordered my favorite go to sandwich which is the Ruben. Pricey at around 15 bucks, it was ginormous! The quality was great. Bread on point, meat on point it was lean and not too fatty. Everything was delicious. The only that steered me away was the 15 dollar price tag. I would opt for a smaller sandwich for a smaller price if that were a option. I was so excited to FINALLY make it to Katz's a few weeks ago and then TOTALLY let down. I don't know if the hype and wait had my expectations too high. The decor was cool. First, let's start with the prices...way too high! Maybe if the quality matched the price. We let the girl know it was our first time there and asked for recommendations. Her response was,"anything really." For real?! Of course we ordered the Ruben to share and a few fried pickle spears. ($1 each) I should've asked the price prior to ordering. Oh and our little one already had lunch at school so she got a slice of cheesecake. $30 for 1 sandwich a few fried pickle spears, 2 drinks & 1 slice of cheesecake is a little much. Let's move on to the food. We did like the fried pickle spears served hot and the sandwich wasn't bad but not as good as the hype or what I expected. The homemade chips were really good. The kraut didn't have much seasoning and was a little on the dry side. Overall, not what I expected.
