Second time coming down here and it was very tasty before, when I got pancakes and my mother got biscuits and gravy. I can at least say that Mikki was a great server both times and very personable. The major issues this time were with the biscuits and hash browns. I got a western omelette with hash browns and a biscuit, while my mother got eggs Benedict and my father got a ham and cheese omelette. The biscuits are very dry and crumble apart, and because of this none of us were really able to eat them. Our hashbrowns were all different levels of doneness, but all were generally underdone, with my father's being pretty much uncooked and given a general sear. My own were lightly crispy, but the insides were somewhat raw. My mother's were at least almost completely done and had a decent crisp. I can say that at least the omelettes were alright; your standard omelette that you'd expect for a breakfast place to do. I enjoyed my omelette. Again, this place is good! I just don't know what happened this time. Perhaps there's a different chef in the kitchen. Our pancakes and biscuits/gravy from last time were quite tasty, though even then the biscuits were still pretty dry; the gravy helped though. Also, the inside looks absolutely adorable but whoever was managing the music had questionable choices... hard rock at 10 in the morning is a strange choice, even stranger is a bluegrass cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It was all a bit strange and out of character for this restaurant. But I will say that Mikki was the one absolute good part, and I appreciated her service and attentiveness. Perhaps we'll come back again sometime and hopefully our preferred cook will be there. read more

Good outweighed the bad here. Corned beef hash had flecks of red paper in it, but they said it was the seasoning. As professional chefs we could see it was not. Eggs were cooked perfect but I did not receive my toast. By the time I did, my eggs were cold and not runny anymore. Disappointing given who doesn't love dipping toast into the yolk. Our server was overwhelmed and inexperienced making the whole breakfast difficult. Waving down others to get more coffee and waiting 20 minutes at an empty table for our receipt became too much and made the experience too taxing. read more

Our waitress was fantastic she was right there taking care of all our needs if you go there ask for Mikki, she answered all of are questions and even recommended things when I was unsure what to order. The menu is overwhelming, so many choices I had no idea how wonderful the place is. Montgomery is so lucky to have a place like this to just go and enjoy a meal with a friend. Two separate visits. I always try to experience a place from the jump...before someone has the chance to ruin it for me. I am always understanding of the trials and tribulations of opening a new place. This was a home run. Food was consistent, cooked perfectly. Service was professional and friendly. This is definitely not their first rodeo. They are seasoned professionals. The breakfast was perfection. Highly recommended the southwestern skillet, with its large chunks of crispy homestyle potatoes, chorizo and loads of peppers and onions its so very filling and flavorful. The pancakes are huge and fluffy with just a touch of vanilla. The waffle is perfectly cooked..fluffy with nice crisp edges. I appreciate the warm syrup too! Everything served is very large portions, highly recommend sharing. Lunch I had the burger which was a fresh patty, on a delightfully toasted bun, I added some of that gorgeous thick sliced crispy bacon and a generous portion of avocado. I upgraded the fries to buffalo fries and highly recommend doing that if you are a buffalo fan. Not too spicy but has just the perfect tangy kick. A lot of choices on the menu and they have daily specials. Really good chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. Friendly staff, good service and nice clean restaurant. Nicely furnished and good decor. My only complaint is that it was a little pricey for lunch - drinks are $3.25 the CFS was $14 .75... Music was hokey pro-Christian progressive rock - not a fan of it. Once again Hanz diner was horrible for service!! Wanted to give them a 2nd chance after a few people claimed they had a good experience. Well I must have bad luck because for the 2nd and last time I tried to go Sunday for breakfast. Have no idea if the food might have been ok, because after a very long wait at the table to just be greeted we left and had a great breakfast at Montgomery steak house. To my amazement they greeted us after we sat down and brought us drinks and breakfast. Hanz should really come over and watch how service works. I'm just trying to warn anyone who reads this the frustration before they waste their time trying Hanz's diner. Nice new decor, very friendly staff, generous portions and the wife's breakfast of hash browns, scrambled eggs, biscuit & ham was delicious. My patty melt & regular fries was pretty average. The patty melt tasted good, but the bread wasn't rye and I got a bit of bone or gristle in the meat. The fries looked amazing, but well under cooked and limp. I'll give them another try someday, but for now just 3 stars for me. read more

I ordered delivery and I was whoa impressed. I've gotten delivery orders before that had no silverware or napkins. Y'all they had silverware, salt and pepper, butter, jelly, ketchup, and multiple, if not overdone of each thing. They had tons of napkins in the bag.
