Met a friend here mid-morning on a Wednesday. Seems like a random location, but their signage made it easy to find. I ordered right away without a wait, although there were a decent amount of people enjoying the cafe already. Seating was a little random and could be scarce. I had a decaf oat milk latte with maple & vanilla, half sweet. Very, very good! I usually only order my lattes with vanilla, but the nice barista spoke highly of their maple so I'm glad I gave it a try. My friend had a smoothie and said it was good. They had a water station and clean restrooms. Would come back - seems like a good place to get work done!

Deceptively large coffee shop tucked away in a strip mall. When I arrived about 10:30 it is was moderately busy with most of the tables occupied and a pleasant background noise of conversation. They have a number of seasonal specials including the Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate. When they ask if this is a to go or drink in, this is not just a tax question. In cafe drinking is the way to go as they serve their drinks in real cups, massively improves the already excellent taste. The Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate was wonderful and the cream appeared to be real whipped cream as it didn't instantly dissolve, effortlessly supporting the chocolate syrup applied across the top. If I am in the area I will definitely visit again. This coffee shop deserves better exposure, a hidden gem!

    Burrito with kielbasa!!!

Very delicious lattes and burrittos ( burritto with kielbasa and the pigs in a blanket with an excellent sriracha mayo. Atmosphere is still amazing with retro classic music playing in background. Staff even prepared a teddy graham latte to-go for another family member and it was as good the next morning as my coffee in the coffee shop. Thank you. Visited near noon and the food and drink were the same quality as during a regular breakfast morning time. Blueberry muffin and giant cinnamon bun with tasty icing were additional to-go items and baked goods always last multiple days at home.

Tucked away in the back of a strip mall, this coffee shop is hidden gem!!! Recommend to me by a coworker, and now a new favorite! A cozy outdoorsy atmosphere with delicious food, house made syrups, and delightful coffee!

After doing some work in Colorado Springs one afternoon, we stopped by Kawa Coffee. This is a cute coffee shop hidden at the back of a strip mall. The coffee boost was just what we needed before a long drive home. The baristas were very friendly and helpful. They got the initial order wrong, but were quick to fix it. It's a nice little space, but it does appear to need a good clean. That aside, I'd definitely visit again if I was in the area.

Amazing coffee!! Awesome service and such a friendly staff. So glad we stopped in while visiting from CA. I was in love with their coffee. The baristas know what they are doing!

This place. I just ate the best breakfast burrito on this side of Pikes Peak thanks to the allstar worker Megan (I think she's the owner?). Also had a top tier iced pomegranate matcha. Tasted delightful. Overall great vibes, top tier ambiance, I'll return.

We frequented this hidden coffee spot when Bf lived in the neighboring apartment. They have non dairy options and several creative lattes. I've only ever had the iced Canuck which is a maple syrup breve. Yum! Sweet but not too sweet. Today we returned for the first time in over a year since bf moved away. It was busy, much busier than we'd ever seen, given it is Saturday morning. The barista up front was busy fidgeting on his IPads when we arrived. He fidgeted on it for several minutes before taking our order and thanking us for our patience. There seemed to be several regulars that the baristas recognized. After we ordered we waited 25 minutes for our order. There was a good 5 people that ordered after us too. There were 5 baristas working so not sure why the wait was so long. The one barista was taking orders instead of helping making drinks. They even served an order that was taken after us, before us! The iced Canuck was as good as I remembered, and Bf liked his iced chai with espresso. Overall a cute spot if you have the time to wait. Prepare to wait on a weekend. Maybe less so if you are a regular.

This hidden gem is tucked away between two buildings in a small strip mall. At first I couldn't find it but then saw the small sign indicating that it was in the back. I got a cafe americano with medium roast coffee. It was fantastic. No cream or sugar needed! I decided to treat myself and went for the coffee cake that I had warmed. When I dug in for my first bite the scent of cinnamon filled the air. That totally caught me by surprise but I knew that I was in for a treat. The outside of the cake had a wonderful crunchy crust of cinnamon and sugar. The inside was moist and delicious. It was to die for.

Very good coffee and delicious pastries. Alright social distancing practices. We stopped in for a quick bite on a long road trip. The staff were plenty friendly and all wore masks, but there were quite a lot of people in there maskless (yes I know, you need to remove your mask to drink coffee - but there just seemed to be too many people to close). I had a Harry Potter latte and it was delicious. Tasted like good espresso and the butterscotch was a nice lil treat. The blueberry muffin was a little on the sweet side but still good and I enjoyed the heck out of it. It was a generous portion too. They have some gluten free goods and all pastry are individually wrapped in saran wrap. They do make the gluten free pastry in house though, so my friend with celiac held off for fear of cross contamination. We didn't ask a ton of questions though, so it's possible it's safe. If you're celiac, just call in advance to see if you feel comfortable. Would stop in again if in Colorado springs in a post-covid world. The coffee was delicious and the people were friendly.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend. Soon realizing we've eating at the Public House Burger Bunker…read moreover at Red Leg brewery before. Not a bad thing though because we really liked it when we had it at Red Leg. Small tucked away restaurant that was pretty busy but still a table to sit down right away. We started out with Pretzel Knots which were great. Would recommend but also a lot of good sounding appetizers so probably can't go wrong. We ordered the Pub Classic burger, Rampart Reuben, and Colorado Cheesesteak. All of this was great. The Colorado Cheesesteak was awesome! Would recommend! The prices were I feel like $1-2 high per item for a pub, but honestly the food was great so it is what it is. One disappointment was the kids menu was a little bare.. my 4 year old wanted a cheeseburger and there's no kids burger so the Pub Classic was for a 4 year old which was a hard pill to swallow $17 for a 4 year olds lunch. On Yelp there's a photo of a kids burger and that doesn't appear on the menu anymore, things like Mac n cheese, grilled cheese, personal pizza.. Overall though it was all good tasting, good service, and a cool vibe.

Cool Vibe, Average Food…read more I wanted to give The Public House at The Alexander a shot because of all the positive reviews. The setting definitely has something going for it--the building's history as a former movie studio gives the place a unique, hip atmosphere. But unfortunately, I felt like the vibe was a bigger part of the experience than the food. The restaurant was warm inside, and the cleanliness was a concern. Our tables felt sticky, the overall dining area didn't feel particularly clean, and there was a pesky fly flying around while we were eating. We ordered the wings, the Craft Burger, and the Candied Valente Burger. We specifically asked for the wings to be extra crispy and light on the sauce. Unfortunately, they weren't crispy at all--the skin was actually somewhat soft. One of the wings also seemed questionable as to whether it was fully cooked, which was concerning. I will give them credit for one thing: the wings are huge. The ranch dressing also wasn't very good. My wife thought the flavor of her burger was good but said it was overcooked. My burger initially came out overcooked as well, but the staff did fix it, which I appreciated. The burger itself had a nice grilled flavor, but with all the toppings together, the overall burger was just so-so. The fries had a light batter on them, and I think they could have been really good, but they were just average. We also tried the Diet Coke, but the fountain mix wasn't very good, so we switched to iced tea. Unfortunately, the tea didn't taste freshly made either. Overall, The Public House has a cool, interesting vibe, and I can understand why people enjoy the atmosphere. The former movie-studio setting definitely makes it different from your typical restaurant. But for me, the food was average at best, and the cleanliness and temperature inside took away from the experience. Maybe the atmosphere is what people are really coming for--but based on our meal, I don't think the food lived up to the hype.

It was so tasty and refreshing. The oxtails were tender, and well seasoned. The side dishes were on point and the amount of food for the price point was appropriate. For dessert, the butterfinger or Oreo cake were available. I went with the butterfinger cake and it was moist, and delicious and also a first time item for me. I sampled the brisket nachos and I can see this as a snack while watching your favorite sporting event or show. I was very pleased with my food and did a same day review to share pictures and to spread the word about a small business worthy of visiting. Of note, the card reader wasn't working so it's best if you bring cash. This is not an establishment where you can eat on the premises...unless it's in your car. It's simply grab and go.
