I grew up in Woodmere so I used to visit Walls pretty frequently! Now that I've moved out East,…read morevery rarely do I go back to my hometown but last month was one of those times, it was my chance to visit Walls again! The bakery hasn't changed at all in over 50 years, just as I remember it! There's still the incredible smell of baked goods as you walk through the door! I ordered the Chocolate Bobka and a Black and White cookie, which was a must for me! They still make the best Black and White cookies! I was not happy at all to hear they no longer make their Chocolate Eclairs! Back in the day, walking home from HS, I would always pass Walls and I would buy an Eclair to eat on the way home! They were filled to the brim with delicious custard and the dough that held the custard with the chocolate strip on top was over the top amazing! The Chocolate Bobka was a little dry but still very good! Together with a glass of milk it was a great treat that brought back lots of memories! I'm planning a repeat visit next month, the Apple Strudel and Rugalach I remember being delicious so that's what I'll be getting when I return. I hope the owner is there, I'd really like him to reconsider bringing back the eclairs!! If you're in the area, try to visit Walls! The Bakery is more than 60 years old and just a charming, real old fashioned Bake Shop!

Want to indulge on the sweetness of Baked by Melissa without traveling to the city? This is what…read morethe airport location is for. Whether one is looking to satisfy a sweet craving or get an edible gift for someone while in transit, this location at JFK's Terminal 5 is a good option for all of the above, It honestly feels like any location of BBM, all with the minimalist decor and constant bustle of in/out traffic of folks ordering these minis for takeout. While I have been told the cupcakes are baked offsite and brought here, I'm under the impression / understanding that they're replenished several times daily. This makes sense, seeing as I've never come here and not found anything I've wanted. The cupcakes are just like what one would find in Manhattan, albeit slightly more expensive. The red velvet, dye are still the ones to get but the rest of their sweets are definitely worth checking out. They're available as singles, 6 packs, and ever-indulgent 25 pack. I tend to get the latter as gifts for friends, especially non-New Yorkers, who always come away impressed.

They're tiny, even smaller than the mini muffin bites you might get from Little Debbie, but I actually enjoyed them. I didn't pay for them myself, so I can't really comment on the value, but I was told the person who brought them picked them up all the way in Queens. I'm assuming they came from one of the company's Queens locations. What I liked most is that they're bite-sized. They make for a nice little treat, especially for someone who's trying to watch their portions. Eating one or two doesn't feel like a major indulgence, and you still get the best part of a cupcake in a few bites. My only complaint is that they were a little too sugary for my taste. Still, I thought they were pretty good overall. If you're looking for a small dessert that satisfies a sweet tooth without committing to a full-sized cupcake, these are worth trying.
