I took my LeVian diamond ring to be serviced, at Kay's because two of the stones needed to be replaced. They gave me my receipt stating it will be one month before I can pick it up, but I had to call them after waiting for almost two months, just a few days short. I picked it up on March 1st and on March 5th one of the same stones that they had replaced was missing again. I called and spoke with the Assistant manager at Kay's Winter Garden Village, trying to make sense of what was going on with my diamond ring, but I got the impression from his voice that I was annoying him or he was doing me a favor by just listening, he tried to say he was sorry but I never felt it, his attitude over the phone was as if I was wrong to even complain about my ring. That is not great customer service, when they take your money it's all right and nice, but have a problem that isn't your fault and you see how much they don't care. I spend thousands of dollars at that store for rings, earrings, and watch. I am very disappointed and displeased with their service. read more

If you want to purchase something, call ahead and ask if Dennis is working that day. He was incredibly helpful and patient. I had gone to Annapolis mall earlier in the week and had the WORST service. Dennis happily helped me and gave me much more than I had even asked for. He talked me through the differences in metals and explained other things such as background and meanings of certain gems and styles. I only spent about 30 min with him and I learned so much! Horrible, horrible experience. Don't give your hard earned money to this location or corporation. My fiance went to Kay thinking that they were a reputable company who valued their customers. Kay is far from reputable and does not care about their customers whatsoever. We began working with the Bowie location back in November 2016 and still (it is now March 2017) do not have my engagement ring in the correct setting. Promise date after promise date (there have been at least three given to us) to have the finished ring was unfulfilled. They never returned our calls nor reached out to us proactively when the order was not fulfilled. Since we started working with them they called us three times--and once was for a store promotion--to our 15+ calls. We escalated it and had a "case specialist" who was "going to make it right." The case specialist blamed the store. The store and case specialist blamed the vendor. Then, Kay told us the vendor (who is Quality Gold btw--they refused to tell us and we found it ouy ourselves) was "out of stock" of the setting we wanted. We finally had enough and went to a small business jeweler. They called Quality Gold for us and turns out they weren't "out of stock." Again, Kay passed the buck onto anyone but themselves, never chose to make it right or take responsibility for the complete screw up. They didn't care. They already had our money. So thankfully we kept fighting and received a full refund. And if this all wasn't bad enough, the supposed store manager had "no idea" what had happened, offered no apology when we went in for the refund, nothing. Gotta love it. Invest your money elsewhere--particularly a local jeweler who cares about you as a customer. Oh, and it'll be a lot cheaper. The mark up on Kay is ridiculous. We are purchasing the same exact setting for $400 cheaper. read more

Awful customer service. Upon entering the empty Bowie, MD store was not greeted right away and the rep never introduced himself. Needed to exchange a gift that was ordered online for a larger size. Not a custom order, not personalized. First, it took about 30 mins. to find the order in the system, even though I had the order number and product code. Was told that I could not exchange it, as they didn't carry online items in-store. Then was told I could return it there, they would send it to Kay.com, and then we could order it online again, maybe honoring the same price, maybe not, he didn't know. Or, I could let them size it by cutting the ring and expanding it. When I questioned that process -- I needed it 2 sizes larger -- was told that he didn't know if they could do it or not, just send it back and see. Stopped assisting me twice to address other customers; seemed like since I was exchanging and not purchasing, I was not important. Funny though, I was interested in several gemstone necklace sets, and he never even noticed. I wasted about 45 mins. just to be told that he couldn't do anything, call the online Customer Care. He was so in a rush to snag a potential sale from a customer he obviously had sold to previously that he didn't even apologize for being unable to assist, say thank you for coming in, nothing. I then went home and called corporate Customer Care and was told that I absolutely could exchange in-store, and they were filing a complaint against this store. Hopefully will have a better experience with a different store, but most definitely will never patronize the Bowie, MD location again. read more

I wrote a review out of anger this past weekend because I didn't use my favorite sales person Ms. Devonnie. I went tonight to see about my watch that I was supposed to hear about three days ago and never received a message that another sales person told she would. After talking to Ms. Devonnie and Mr. Dennis, I left feeling totally satisfied in the way they listened to my frustration. I retract my previous review because I have a history with Ms. Devonnie and she has always treated me with respect and honesty. Part 2. So the Rep in the store reviewed the ring and saw the error and that stones were extremely packed and tight- which also left a hole in the middle of the ring where the stones were set. After being tired of coming to the store I signed for my wedding band while they had me resign for my engagement ring to be repaired - which was not right because it was their fault. The Rep said he would expedite mine to be repaired. Now it's October about 3 weeks later, my husband received an email saying my ring was ready, which was yesterday. So a little incident happened where I forgot my wallet at work but I had my Fed. Govt ID wit my pic on it and luckily a photo of my State Govt ID on my phone. The same stoic lady asked me for my ID and I told her what happened but showed her my FED ID. There was another Rep in the store who said they needed my Official ID I showed her my state ID on my phone and also told her I had received several emails from Kay Jewelers about my ring to Identify who I was. She refused to look at my emails, disregarded my two forms of identification. Then proceeded to tell me what if someone came in the store that was not me and brought in fake ID to get my rings. First of all - I didn't know that the Fed Govt was giving out fake ID then secondly showing her my state photo ID wasn't proof enough and wanting to show her emails did not suffice to properly identify who I say I was ... so she was apparently calling me a fake. When I addressed her about calling me a fake she tired to deny it. I left the store frustrated- for my wallet from a friend who picked it up from my workplace and proceeded to go back to the store. Before being in the physical store I called the Kay Jewelers customer service number and the Rep was trying to help me and said that the store system was down hence the reason for my ID - which was never explain to me at the store - as a matter of fact the rep never looked into the system for my name...I ran into another problem which was so disappointing with the rep over the phone, she was trying to help and escalated the problem to the District Manager. I finally had my physical State ID, Fed ID, Emails and A PHYSICAL RECEIPT FOR PICkUP. Apparently the online rep said my name was not an authorized user because it was in my husband's name. SMH. Initially when I dropped off my rings for service , I asked that the information be update and it was, because I gave the rep my information for updating our information in the system and it should have been there. But this is crazy as 3 weeks to 5 months ago they wanted me to sign for my rings without Fort Knox thorough background investigation. I even showed her my wedding band that I now have that I signed for. And the stoic lady that was in the store recognized who I was from the last time - she didn't say anything but nodded her head to acknowledge that I have been in the store and she wanted me to sign for my wedding band which i refused because I wanted to sign for my wedding set together. So I went into the store and the same Rep after showing receipt and ID refused to give me my ring. Then proceeded again to belittle and insult me by saying tell me that I should know protocol very well because I work in the Federal Government ( who refused to acknowledge my FED ID as identification).This has been the worst customer service and store I've ever been treated this way. My rings are fully paid for, bought other items at that store before and yet treated like a vagrant on the street. I'm still without my ring.... read more

I visited here the beginning of April to find my husband a Birthday and Anniversary gift. I met the most pleasant, helpful, informative young lady by the name of Kiara/ Kara (I believe is her name). She had relocated from NC. Not only did I find a new wedding ban, but also a bracelet for my husband. She encourage me to get my rings cleaned and noticed a stone loose. She sent my ring in to be fixed and it was back in a week. I've gotten my ring cleaned multiple times and no one mention the loose stones. She save me a trip and a future headache. I love meeting sales associate who are not only friendly but enjoys helping and informing customers. Good customer service is rare these days and it made me smile that she continue to practice this and wasn't just set in making a sale. I plan on shopping with her in the future. read more

I purchased a 2 stone mother's ring online at Kay.com. I had the option of picking it up at the Bowie store or having it mailed to my home. I opted for the latter. Two weeks after getting the ring, a stone fell out. I took it to the Kay's in the Bowie Towne Center. I explained I purchased it online and was asked if I purchased the insurance. I said I was not given that option when I ordered it but if the stones were going to fall out I wanted to get it. She said no problem. Three weeks later when I went to pick up the ring and tried to add the insurance, the assistant manager Devonee called customer support for Kay's. Granted she got rerouted at least 4 times and was finally told I could not get the insurance because it had been longer than 30 days. My response back to her was the stone fell out before 30 days. She was not hearing it and told me I had to call customer service. I left the store and called and explained what occurred. Customer service told me I could purchase the insurance but had to do it in the store. Customer service asked me the store location and who I spoke with. They said they would call the store and let them know I could add and pay for the insurance. I stood outside the store on hold and watched someone answer the phone, walk over to Devonee who was working with another employee with a customer. Customer service came back on the line and said that she was told Devonee was not available, she had left her name and number for Devonee to call her back. I asked for the same information and walked back into the store. A man came over and I said that customer service called about adding warranty to my purchase. He said yes they had called but Devonee was with a customer and I said I guess I will have to wait. The young lady who checked me in when I originally dropped off the ring ended up calling customer service back and rang up my warranty ($24.99). Devonee's attitude through the entire process was like she didn't want to be bothered. She was texting on her phone the whole time she was trying to speak with customer service. To make matters worse, I noticed the stone that was replaced was smaller than other one. I called customer service back and they said I should take ring back to this store. I explained what happened and I did not want to do business at this location. They apologized and make arrangements for me to get another ring and to pick it up at a new location and added the warranty to the new ring. read more
