Absolute WORST experience ever. I went in to pick up my fiancé wedding band we had bought 2 weeks prior and also check in about my wedding band and engagement ring that I had sent off for cleaning and sizing. They put my rings under a different name and email address. As a result, my home address and pictures were sent to another person who I have no idea who they are and have never met before. If I had not gone in to pick up my fiancé ring and check my order status they would have never caught the mistake and the other person that my order was under would have received a notification email to come pick up their ring, they could have come in with their ID and walked out with my rings. I know this because the employees confirmed that if I had not caught it that would have happened. On top of making an incredibly huge and extremely unprofessional mistake that could have cost me my wedding band and custom engagement ring, I was told that this was the first time this has happened but "no harm was caused because it was caught just in time". This was truly disrespectful because I was the only reason why this mistake was caught and there was a true lack of remorse from the management and staff. I ended up leaving with an extreme distaste for Kay Jewelers, no solution, no rings, and no change in the name on the order. Yes that's correct, they still have my order under a completely different persons name, a stranger no less. This was the first and very last time that I will be shopping here. I strongly advise you stay as far away from this store at all costs. TERRIBLE. read more

My wife and I decided to stop by the Gilroy Outlets. Our anniversary was coming up and I wanted to buy my wife something special in terms of jewelry. My sister used to work in the jewelry retail business; consequently, she recommended visiting an outlet store for the best bargains. We first stopped by Jared Vault (the outlet store for Jared's). We had a helpful employee, but the manager seemed very cold and unhelpful with some of our questions. In fact, I used some of the terminology that my sister told me to use, but the manager acted like she had never heard those terms before. The young woman who was assisting us continued to try and help, but she was relatively new and just couldn't help with finding the type of ring my wife was looking for. After a little more shopping around the outlets, we found the Kay Jewelers Outlet. The difference in customer service was like night and day! We were immediately helped by "Nick." He patiently listened to my wife's very particular taste in rings. Nick showed us as many rings as we could and made some very helpful suggestions. Within a short time, he understood what my wife was looking for. He made some suggestions and gently explained that the one style of ring that she wanted to avoid -- anniversary bands -- aren't all the same. He showed her everything from event jewelry to wedding sets to anniversary bands. Nick helped her try on some different jewelry until she found one that she really liked. He offered to help us "open an account," but the price was reasonable enough to purchase outright. In fact, we ended up saving about 50% off of the retail price! I can't recommend Kay Jewelers Outlet enough -- and Nick in particular. We drove from Palo Alto just to look but left feeling like we hit the bargain of the century in terms of both service and quality of merchandise! Nick treated us like we were the most important customer of the day -- something that you usually only feel if you are well dressed and visiting a very high end jewelry store. I called my sister and explained our purchase. My sister happily admitted that we certainly found a great bargain! Thank you, Nick! My friend's husband bought her a $400.00 watch on 12/23/2016. She returned it, with a receipt, in early January. They refused to accept it , even with the receipt because the box was missing! She just found the box and returned it today. Nick refused to accept the return because it was past the 60-day return limit. The watch was returned in January! But they wanted the box. I'm disgusted. Decent customer service dictates a reasonable policy allowing for situations like this! I realize that this happened to a close friend, but, unless this is resolved to her satisfaction (i.e. Her ability to return the watch for a full refund, neither she nor I, will shop at Kay's Jewelers again. Plus, we will spread the word to all of our friends and acquaintances to stay away from this merchant who, obviously does not care about their customers! read more

My husband bought me a gold ring (in 2013, from this outlet) with little diamonds chips in it. One of the diamonds feel out so I pulled out the warranty and receipt and headed over to get the diamond replaced. When I walked in a really nice gentleman greeted me and I explained I had a warranty and I wanted my diamond replaced. Well the lady manger just started in on me right away "Well, did you bring it in for the 6 month maintenance? Cause if you didn't that warranty is null and void" Now, I am starting to think she is going to say it will be like 1k to fix this stupid ring. I was like well that is extreme to do for such small little diamonds and then she was all like "gold is soft and we have to check it, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah" I don't care about Kay or Kay's rules, but Kay should care about ME the customer. The man in the store kept quiet and actually started to work and look up my account. I was so mad at her just yapping at me and I tried to walk out but he said come over and lets check out your paperwork. When he explained it to me, the diamond cost was only $36!!!! and no charge for the labor because of the warranty. I spend $36 in a week on Starbucks drinks!! That manager did all that stupid yapping and making me sooooo angry over $36!! Then the nice, nice man complimented my wedding ring (which I did NOT purchase from Kays) and asked me if I wanted it cleaned. I accepted his offer because he was so chill and he did an inspection for me and we went over to the cleaning machine in the corner and I told him what an amazing job he did and how I cannot even believe she is the "manager". If anyone from corporate reads this - it is the female manager working on 1/10/19 around 12noon. She needs to go back to training or demoted and make the guy in there the manager. He knows how to sell and what he is doing. I told him if she would have kept her mouth shut and I could have dealt with him then Kay would be $36 richer but just to spite her I am not getting the ring fixed. So my husband bought me a ring in 2015 from another Kay's location. I religiously take my ring to get cleaned and inspected twice a year to ensure if anything should happen to my ring it will be covered. Last year my ring cracked! I immediately took it in to the gilroy location and they sent it in and I received my ring back within a month fixed. Fast forward to current time: right before the holidays I noticed that one of my diamonds fell out. My ring is an infinity ring with small diamonds on them. I went into the store and explained that I needed my ring sent in Because I thought I was missing a diamond. While I was explaining this to the employee who works here another employee said help the other man first he was here first. I knew this and I had every intention of telling her that I wasn't there first. I was utterly shocked how she yelled over me and interrupted my conversation and I looked at her With disappointment she apologized. Once it was finally my turn The person I was initially talking to ask the other lady for advice in Spanish. Now normally this would not bother me however I can tell when someone's talking smack. The lady laughed and they were talking about how my diamonds are not really diamonds their gems because they're so tiny. I know I'm not at Tiffany's but it was disrespectful. They continued their conversation. She went on in Spanish telling her that if The customer doesn't come in for inspection and cleaning every six months then they cannot guarantee the ring. She then questioned me on when I came in and if I've been coming in to do this. She said if I had any proof of this. I said that they normally enter it in the computer so she could please check there otherwise I've never been handed anything to show proof of cleaning and inspection. I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I walked away feeling like my ring was insignificant. I hope that these employees learn how to better Work with their customers. read more

The Manager, Nick, Assistant Manager Javier, Paula, (excuse if I spelled your name wrong honey), even the district manager that drove up from Bakersfield today, and I'm sorry I did not get your name, were so delightful! I bought my husband a watch on Christmas eve, I was in a hurry and bought last min so he wouldn't find it. Well when my husband opened it, it looked used. Luckily they exchanged it easily as I have been a card member with Kays for over 10 years. The -3 stars is because the sales man told me he was giving me the extended warranty for free. But when I got home I noticed he charged me 130.00 for it. I have never had horrible services at Kays. If I go back it won't be at the outlets. I will drive to oakridge where the service is better. read more
