Hernan helped me out during my visit and he was super courteous and knowledgeable! First responders , nurses and college students get an additional 10% off by the way! Didn't have much expendable cash, but I managed to pick up a water resistant duffel for a little under $60 which normally retails for 150 usd . I've had a backpack that comes from a similar line from them for about two years now ( bought in London at a regular retail store for about 150 pounds ) and it's really held up well which is why I was confident in buying an additional bag . I definitely would've bought more including a set of gloves that I really need for the upcoming winter if it was my current budget.Till next time ! read more

This outlet store was great! The selection was impressive and I noticed that most sizes were available for items running from XS to 2XL. We came the weekend after Christmas and everything was 50% off. I appreciated that there was a healthy stock of each selection and not just what feels like an overstock of assorted pieces in one or two sizes or strange colors. There was a lot of black apparel which I appreciated as well. This is a bit out of the way for us, but it's definitely worth the trip if you're looking for a winter coat! read more

The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that normally online and other stores go higher up in sizes they did not and for someone that's a larger person. Wonderful and great staff! I came here to return an item without receipt, and they were amazingly accommodating and helped me out very quickly. They we're also able to help me send an item for a repair. The prices here are amazing and are always a good deal, I ended up buying a nice pair of swim trunks for $20. Came here during a late Saturday afternoon. I would have to say for the hour drive, it was not worth it. Their stock for clearance wasn't very good and were either XS or 2XL or higher. This store is not a traditional outlet that sells items with cheaper materials and inseams that are off. I think it's the normal well made items they carry at the North Face stores but from another season or many seasons ago. I recognized the fleeces I bought my daughter in various colors for FULL retail price at REI when she was in high school. The day I was in, the full retail items were all marked 40% off. I LOVE wearing my North Face fleece. I originally just bought it for layering when I went on my annual weeklong birthday trip to San Francisco and Sonoma but it ended up being so hot I never wore it. Since then I love wearing it to drop off my kids in the freezing mornings, before my 6 am Pilate classes, and over my scrubs or my weekly per diem job. It's so light yet warm, looks super classy and washes well! I have a Patagonia fleece too but it doesn't compare to how it fits or feel. My regret is that I only bought one... read more

I was hoping the kids selection would've been a little bigger but they had the classics so I was able to find what I was looking for. If you're a fan of The North Face apparel -- including shirts, sweaters, hoodies, jackets, gloves, etc. -- then you'll love this store! The North Face Outlet offers much of the same merchandise with a discount of 40% (or more) from prices at traditional retail stores. Many of the items are "last year's models." However, this doesn't mean that they aren't stylish. In fact, I've noticed that The North Face rarely changes their "look" anyway. The store also seems to offer plenty of current styles too. Those will be available at a much better price than what you can find elsewhere in the Bay Area. There are only a handful of stores at the Gilroy Outlets than make the trek from Palo Alto to Gilroy worth the drive. The North Face Outlet is one of them. read more

Woohoo! The South Bay got it's own North Face outlet store on September 20. Take that, East Bay! Actually, Berkeley's North Face outlet store is so much larger in size and selection that it's in a different league, but for what it is, the Gilroy store is good enough for me since it makes up by saving me gas money and time. This store is located next to the Gap outlet store, in the same building that also has Reebok and Bose. You'll find men's, women's, and children's items here. Assortment includes jackets (fleece, hooded, water resistant, wind resistant, insulated), shoes (hiking, casual, boots, breathable), shirts, backpacks, and accessories (beanies, gloves, socks). Argh, yet another outlet store to spend my money on. At least it I don't have to feel as guilty since I won't be paying retail price for quality outdoor gear! read more

So far I've found a North Face jacket for $100 and waterproof boots for $80. Score considering both were originally priced well over $100 each. I was here last month on Sat 8/23 in the afternoon for a last minute shopping trip and found one of the salespeople super helpful! I can't remember his name to save my life, but he was Latin, spoke Spanish and was such a pleasure to deal with! I told him I was looking for boots to go hiking in Alaska and he pointed me in the right direction. Was super helpful when I needed different sizes. I wish I could remember the salesperson's name, but he made my shopping experience that much easier. He was knowledgeable and happy to look up info when I had a question. I really think North Face as a brand is really great and amazing how they always come up with things that will keep you super warm even though it might be ridiculously cold. I came in with high high hopes of finding a nice jacket for myself. But guess what the smallest adult sizes were so big on me that it looked like I was wearing a mans jacket and it became a dress as well! Looked all around the store but all the sizes just weren't working for me and I ended up not buying anything at the store. But if you are looking for something that will be nice to keep you warm in this is the brand. Children sizes do fit but I think some of the designs are just a tad bit out there for me to wear in public. read more

Go somewhere else if you want anything other than a coat/jacket. No one to really help me find some sweats. The girl asked me if I was good? Told her I was looking for sweats, she said oh ok. And left it at that. So I wondered around till I found a few there was a rack of about 15 pairs of different size sweats on a 2'rack, whereas the entire store was filled with jackets. The gentleman asked how I was doin if I'm finding everything ok. I told him if these were the only sweats and he said no there are more over here. I looked and there were none. I asked him if this is the wrong time of year to look for sweats and he said No-But it was just Black Friday and they sold everything. That's hilarious the entire store was filled with jackets of all kinds and colors. So I asked if there was another NF store anywhere by and he told me Livermore. I'm in Gilroy. What about San Jose? Totally unexpected to see North Face outlet here but they said they have been here for a year! Lots to choice from, clean and prices are similar to the one in Berkeley but the outlet in Berkeley is a much bigger store. The staff here are totally awesome and helpful. Will be back! read more

2014 YELP 365 CHALLENGE - 360/365 LOVE this place! Came to the Gilroy Outlets specifically to check out The North Face Outlet. I am going on a trip to the Grand Canyon next month and wanted to get a super warm and high quality jacket, and wanted to check this place out! LOVED how organized this store was. The layout was very easy to navigate through and they had a TON of jackets and other items. I hate when you walk into an outlet store and it straight up feels like an outlet store. You know what I mean? It's disorganized, messy, almost feels dirty, they only have 1 of each thing, etc. This North Face is the complete opposite. It feels exactly like a normal, full-priced store...except way cheaper! They had a great variety of different outwear, depending on what you are looking for. They are sorted by type and it is really easy to find what you are looking for because they have huge signs that say FLEECE or TRICLIMATE or whatever you're looking for. They also had really big signs displaying what the discount was for each item, which was great! I received great customer service from a girl named Bianca (I think?) who thoroughly explained to me the significance behind the Triclimate jackets, which is what I was looking for. She explained that it's like 3 jackets in 1, with several layers of jackets and the significance between each part of the jacket. She was very informative and easily answered all of my questions, which was awesome. Major props to her because as my friend says, "She sold it!" I ended up getting this awesome Triclimate jacket which was originally for $299.99, and was reduced to $119! SO AWESOME! By far my favorite deal I got yesterday out of all the stores I went to out the Gilroy Outlets! Overall I am VERY pleased with this North Face Outlet and I will definitely be returning in the future. 5 stars! Highly recommend! read more

Like other outlet stores, this store caries mostly items that were *designed* to be sold at a discount at the outlet, items that would never be sold in the full retail locations or for the full price on the tag. The true retail items that are clearance or past season only make up 5% of the total store inventory. What I really like about this outlet is that they clearly mark which items are made for the outlet on the price tag so you know what you're getting. I've scored full retail items at a true 50%+ off and typically find something I want to buy, which gets me over the disingenuous nature of outlet stores today. read more

I will admit buying North Face products, can be expensive since their jackets and sweaters will last for many years to come which makes it worth it to invest in North Face items. Also, I love how the fleece material from their sweaters are very warm and soft which is perfect to wear on cold windy fall/winter days. If you're an adult, and if you can still wear the items from the children's department definitely take an advantage of that in order to save more money. To be honest, I think they usually have better color selections of clothes in the children's department. read more

Was excited to visit the new North Face outlet in Gilroy, as it's way closer than going all the way up to Berkeley. It is located near the Gap, and it's a decent size with lots of North Face goodies for a great price. Many of the items were an additional 30-50% off, and I snagged a couple jackets and fleece for this cold weather that's coming upon us! Staff was very helpful and was glad it wasn't jam packed with lots of shoppers on a Saturday afternoon. I love North Face fleece and jackets especially if they are 50% off of original price and then some. The outlet offers specials on some fleece items the last 4 times I've been in. You can get a nice full front zip fleece for $24.99 before taxes. Other outer wear is usually 50% off of original and if your lucky 60%. The fleeces will definitely keep you warm. I love TNF Outlet. Great quality and deeply discounted on past season's items. What's there not to like? I heard about this store from my co-worker, but it's not until I got an early Christmas gift from here- last month, that I got really excited. I was given a black 3 in 1 snow jacket and loved it instantly when I saw it. It did great for our trip in the snowy area after Christmas too. I visited the store for the first time this past December to do my Christmas shopping. It was 50% the entire store! Wowser!! The items I bought as Christmas gifts were loved and kept. While it's great to have an outlet store in gilroy, it just doesn't carry nearly as much selection as the other stores. Most items are fleece, or fleece related. And size selection is very limited as well. But if you love fleece style clothing, you'll love this store. read more

I was excited to stumble upon a north face outlet and was sure I would leave heavy handed with shopping bags. Womp womp. I left empty handed. The store was heavily discounted with sale on top of sale but the quality of the merchandise offered was sub par. Displayed were multiple fleeces and puffy jackets but we were looking for jackets with higher fill quality. This seems like a spot for those wanting fashionable north face clothing that isn't meant to be tested in the great outdoors or inclement weather. A big disappointment. read more

You can score some awesome gear for a fraction of the price and they have deals going on constantly. When we went, the entire thermoball line was an additional 50% off the outlet prices. So we're talking $50 for a vest, $75 for a jacket. You get the idea. There is surprisingly a lot of selection too. We spent a good 2 hrs wandering around this store, trying stuff on, and walking around with it on to see if we really liked the fit. The staff were all super friendly and helpful too. read more

They also have regular colors like black and grey not like other outlets that just carry colorful colors that some people might not want. I ended up spending $100 on two sweaters & one jacket. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Bad enough that all the merchandise looks 5 years old, and nothing that I've seen in regular retail North Face stores or REI. Bad enough that there is no selection of sizes, only large/XL for women and small/medium for men. But then you add the element of all the zombie workers walking around. "Do you need help finding a size?" one of them asks me. I reply yes, and the next question he asks me is "Did you already look through all the jackets that are hanging?" I did, but wait - isn't that your job?? My husband chooses an item from a rack marked with 2 huge signs $39.99. He goes to pay and the cashier rings him up for $50. He directs her to the sign and tells her the price is incorrect but she insists the price is incorrect. We have to call someone over to explain this complicated situation to the bewildered and/or zombie cashier. Since they have now lost a sale, I tell the other employee that when they do their training, they might want to have cashiers double-check the price when a customer is saying the price is incorrect, before just insisting the price is correct. Sounds like common sense & basic customer service, but this second worker snapped "Well, I wasn't here!" Don't make an excuse. You shouldn't have to physically be around so your co-worker can think for herself. She was obviously not trained properly and obviously not familiar with any of the merchandise or sale prices. Where is management? Who has scheduled 10 zombie workers to walk around and ask customers if they need help, then tell the customers to look themselves? Who has hired these workers that are clueless and then defensive when called on their errors? I have been to the Berkeley outlet numerous times and the workers are always genuinely helpful in a much more busy and chaotic atmosphere. Calling this store an "outlet" gives it too much credit. Needless to say, I will never shop here again. Improvements need to made, but management is either absent or doesn't care. read more

Based on the reviews I almost didn't drive the 35 miles from San Jose. However, the thought of driving into Berkeley makes my skin crawl. The staff was very helpful and certainly guided me to the proper sizes when digging through racks and racks of jackets. The prices are fantastic and I certainly left with more than I wanted to spend, but you really cannot beat these deals! I came down here on Black Fri evening. And there was a line of about 40 ppl outside waiting to get in. The store wasn't super crowded and could definitely fit more ppl but i guess they wanted to control the numbers inside. Waited for 15-20 min in the freezing cold just to get in, so i wasn't too pleased. While ppl left, they didn't allow the same number of ppl in that came out. *shrugs* Once inside, spent 10 min and left. The shoes were all irregular over-sized. Not too much variety. The jackets were boring, not too many styles. Left empty -handed. Wasn't impressed. I'll stick to the Berkeley location. read more
