I prefer going to Diamonds Direct, now. I purchased a ring here and I didn't know much about the jewel inside (morganite) so when I found out it is a "softer" jewel I returned it. I chatted Kay's customer service online to see if I could return it to any store and was told it was fine. However, nobody told me that getting the TWO rings I traded in was going to be a super big hassle. It has been over two weeks and the only updates I get from the staff is when I harass them making me feel like I am not important. I have spent a lot of money at Kay's before but after this experience I will be going to Diamonds Direct where they always treat me well. My jewelry got lost four weeks ago. Nobody called. The manager was not in a hurry to let the district manager know. If I hadn't have called, we may never have found out that the jewelry was lost. If judgemental, homophobic jerks are your thing, by all means, shop here. If not, don't bother. My partner and I have been shopping for wedding rings for a while. We've been to large chain jewelers and small local jewelers. What we want will require some customization (I refuse to wear diamonds, and most wedding settings come with diamonds). However, every time I mentioned even a stone exchange on a solitaire, the clerk just said, "Go to a jewelry repair, maybe they can help you." In other words, no interest in making the sale. With the similar previous review from an interracial couple, it seems pretty obvious these people are only interested in serving the white, hetero monotheistic type crowd. Too bad for you Kay, because gay dollars make the world go 'round, and I will be making it known you are not interested in ours! I also thoroughly agree with the previous review: Zales just a few doors down was like night and day! Noel was the most helpful jewelry sales associate we've dealt with so far. Horrible customer service starting with the Asst. store mgr- Chris. I purchased a wedding band on 12/18/17, the sales associate said we would get an email when the ring arrived. I never got an email as of 1/11/18, so I called, spoke with Chris, he said it wasn't in but should be in on 1/12/18, he would call and or I should have an email stating it was in. Well, I never got either, so I called again on 1/13/18, spoke with an associate, she said the ring was there. I went to the store to pick up the ring, there was a customer ahead of me, per Chris, so I waited my turn, but instead of helping me out, he helped another customer who came in way after me. I was taken care of by an associate, However I will NEVER shop at this store and advise you do not either unless you like unprofessionalism. read more

Horrible customer service. Very judge mental based on appearance. I get that my boyfriend & I don't look like working professionals who make good or decent money on our days off (but who does?), and probably looked like college students who were just wanting to look. They did not care at all about what we were looking for. We should've realized this place would be a bust since it was empty when we walked in. The guy that was "showing" us our options kept making faces to his coworkers when he thought we weren't looking, and when we were leaving, he turned around to his coworkers and made a face and lifted his hands like a big "F U" to us. Yeah buddy, we saw. Like every other bad review for this location, horrible customer service, horrible experience. My boyfriend and I HIGHLY recommend the Zales across from them - TOP NOTCH customer service by a gentleman named Chris(gopher), which is sad since they're owned by the same parent company. Me and my fiancé came to this location yesterday and we were looking to buy my wedding band. We were standing there looking for about 5 minutes and saw EVERYONE in the store asked if they needed help and when the sales lady came to us she looked me in the eye and kept going passed my fiancé and started to clean the glass instead. Awful customer service. I will never go here again. The associates are not friendly. The manager has an attitude and they do not care to make the sale. I had an issue with the sales associate not knowing how to price match and she got the manager, and both of them together were trying to figure it out for 15 minutes. Great service from 2 different sales people. Purchased engagement ring and went back for wedding rings. Sales person alerted us to an upcoming sale so we could save money, she even fixed us up with rewards and saved even more. They stood behind their promise and made the experience very enjoyable. Horrible customer service after my fiance bought my engagement ring. Once the sale is done they could care less. Took over 3 weeks to resize my ring and kept pushing the date farther and farther. Calling up there is useless - they never answer their phone. So we have to go to the store to see what's going on. 3 sales clerks behind the counter with no customers saying "we're just really busy to answer the phone." When they did finally answer the phone a few days later the lady was very rude to my fiance and hung up on him. RIDICULOUS! What kind of customer service is this?!? read more

My husband bought my engagement ring here back when it was ultra diamonds. I have visited 2 times since Kay has taken over and have been less than impressed. A lady sales assosiate was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately the assistant manager was one of the rudest people I have ever met in a customer service job. I felt that she was short, rude, and flippant. She was unwilling to help us with an issue, and refused to ackknowledge or apologize for our experience. WATCH YOURSELF I recently went to the Round Rock Premium Outlet, and happened across a Kay Jeweler there. I was in the market for some earrings for myself, and a few small gifts, so I decided to see what I could find. I bought a nice starfish charm on a necklace, and the two ladies really tried to push 'warranty' on me. "In case the chain breaks". I didn't buy if for the chain, and I don't believe in paying extra for something that I have already paid for that should fit it's purpose, so I turned that down. At home, I put the necklace on. A little while later, while bending over, I felt that the clasp had snuck around to the front, so I held the charm while I started to turn the chain around. It LET GO in my hands. I through, "Ok, I just didn't clasp it correctly." No, the chain broke! I stood there, chain in hands, and pulled SLIGHTLY on the chain, and it came apart like cotton candy in my hands, HOLY COW! Those ladies KNEW the chain was worthless. Also, one pair of earrings cannot stay on because the tiny press clasp at the back doesn't fit the post. $100 for a pair of earrings that they cannot even give you a decent clasp! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT ANY KAY AGAIN, AND I SUGGEST YOU WATCH EVERYTHING YOU BUY AND CHECK THE PIECE OUT CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BUY IT!!! read more

IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! I walked in today in the Round Rock outlet because my boyfriend bought me some diamond jewelry from there for Christmas and I didn't like it and wanted to exchange it. When I walked in there were probably 6 customers in there and the old hispanic sales lady ignored me and I had to say hi in order to make eye contact with her and she said "one moment" and stepped back for a silent moment (weird) then was open for conversation-I'm assuming. Told her I had the receipt and wanted to exchange the jewelry. She said I needed the card used in order to exchange/return. Told her I would go get it. Came back w/ my boyfriend's card and when I came back 10 minutes later there were NO customers in there, NONE of the 6 sales people greeted me, I had to walk up to this older white guy w/ long hair and explain again I wanted to exchange it that I saw a flower necklace online, we both walked around to find it and it wasn't there then he said I should just return it. Then when he was trying to return it another older asian sales lady with long hair and leather jacket tried to help him out w/ the return and she was incompetent. On the receipt there were 3 items. I clearly was only returning 2 items, a necklace and earrings which were sitting in front of them. Then she kept saying "you want to return all 3 items." I had to keep saying out loud "No only 2 items." ---- DUH! Then he said my boyfriend needed to be there in order to sign for the refund on the card which I understand but I said "it would have been nice if someone told me that earlier because this is my 2nd time to come back in here." Then after that I wanted to look around to see if I wanted to buy something different and once again no one offered to help me pull jewelry so I could look at it, they just stood behind the counter talking to each other and there were only maybe 2 customers there. By that time I was turned off and frustrated I just left. Went and got my bf and told him I just want to return it. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS STORE. So 30 minutes later came back w/ my boyfriend and once again NO ONE greeted us or asked to help (shocker right). Went up to the same older white sales man, my bf gave him the card and the jewelry and he started the refund process then he asked for the jewelry and my bf said "I already gave it you." ----DUH! Save your time and money! Don't buy from this store. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE- it would be better off it was a Redbox jewelry store that way you don't have to interact with the lacking sales staff that don't even sell. read more

My husband bought me a ring with warranty, which covers all the diamonds on the ring for life. Four months later, one of the diamond got loose and I brought it to the store and they agreed to repair it for me. The next day they called and confirmed that I would hv to pay extra because the warranty only covers the diamonds. This guy kept pushing me to get another warrenty but I refused to buy it. I told him that I would pick up the ring and fix it myself. He called an hour later and told me that one of the diamonds was missing while testing. Testing? Why? I was on my way to pick it up! He told me that I would have to pay for the new diamond. I refused to pay and they decided to replace the diamond of no charge. A week later I called and they told me that they could not find a dimond to replace the missing diamond on the ring. Are you kidding me???This place is not professional, not trust worthy and dishonest. They still are still trying to find the exact the same ring to replace my ring.. I can't believe it!
