Driving from Oklahoma City to Maryland sounds absolutely insane (because it kind of is), so when we…read morefound ourselves passing through Memphis around lunchtime, I turned to my trusted Yelp experts to help us find a local gem. Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

A step inside at the same time the counter guy hollered back to let the cooks know a graduation was about to begin so "expect to be busy soon" confirmed that fact! You order at the counter and are given a number for your table and your food is delivered with a smile and some casual southern hospitality banter. This place is quirky with its decor but on point with the food. Get the bacon! Always get the bacon! I'm still dreaming about it! Be warned! We were told during busy times, the line stretches around the building for a steady 8hrs at a time! May the timing of your visit ever be in your favor!

Y'all!!! THE FOOD IS AMAZING! And let me tell you--the mimosas were FLOWING and they were GOOD! I…read morewanted to order the Mimosa Tower, but BABY... that thing is HUGE! There was no way two people were finishing that, so I played it safe this time. BUT this place is now renting a room in my head because I absolutely MUST come back and conquer that tower! The service was OUTSTANDING! The staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming--just the way I like it! From the moment we arrived, there were people outside directing us where to park, and we were able to get ADA parking with no problem. That was definitely a plus! And can we talk about the ambiance?! The lighting was just right--warm, cozy, and inviting. I also noticed how quickly they cleaned and reset the tables as soon as guests left. That little detail made a BIG impression because the restaurant stayed looking clean and well cared for. The energy in there was EVERYTHING! People were coming in hyped, ready to eat, celebrate, and get their hands on one of those Mimosa Towers! You could feel the brunch vibes the minute you walked in. This is officially a GREAT brunch spot! I had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, the mimosas were hitting, the service was on point, and the atmosphere was everything I wanted. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! And next time... BRING ME THAT TOWER!

The food and coffee was so delicious. I wouldn't say I'm a food snob, but I'm particular about breakfast foods, and this made me very happy. We each ordered a coffee and the bacon potatoes to share. I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. TLDR: Not a bad word to say about this place.
