They worked with us on determining the best product, provided a great quote, and the install had about a 60 day lead time...they are very busy! Lo-frills operation, family owned. They keep their overhead low and pass those savings on to their customers. Keeps them very busy, which means they keep full-time installers on staff; they do not use subs. Install crew arrived at 10AM and they were out the door by 4:30PM. Project was our upstairs, about 1100 sq ft, 4 bedrooms and our stairs.

This place is professional, reasonable, honest, and fair. They are a pleasure to deal with. Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards contract out...for the same price or more and same or less quality carpet. Then on top of that it can take 3 weeks for a special order carpet. And who knows who is coming to do the job. Here I found what I wanted 8lb padding with plastic guard and soft carpets you want to sleep on. It took 7 days to deliver and was put in as soon as they could. If it wasn't for the darn holiday weekend and a prior appt. I could've had it done the day after delivery. The guy who owns it, puts down your carpet. It's like he backs up what he does. I like that in a business. On a side note, this is a truly ran family business. The installer is the owner. The guy who measures is his dad. The sales person, is literally everyone's grandma. So paying them made me feel good. How's that for service. They made me feel good while parting with my hard earned money. Do not go to Floors to Go. I can't vouch for their work. But I can vouch for the way they tried to be slick about charging me more money for my carpet by over estimating square footage, charging me for every little thing (removal, hauling, moving furniture, special staircase) and refusing to itemize what I was paying for. We visited their showroom where Ernie answered all of our questions and presented many samples for us to consider. Our visit was most pleasant and we agreed on a date to install. Our installers, Bill, Mike and Dexter, what a wonderful crew. Our install was flawless. These guys worked well together and our finished carpet looks amazing. We stopped here on our way back to the house and the gentleman who greeted us was not only friendly and inquisitive about our situation, he immediately escorted us back to the house to take measurements and survey the damage. They offer average customer service and knowledge in the store (working with the salesman), a respectable choice of various products/flooring needs - carpet, laminate, wood flooring and tiles,....and the pricing was decent - as they worked with us a little. The installation pricing was a little high, but when it came to the actual installation,.....that's where the story gets interesting. The bad and ugly: Sakes alive. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else to get carpet, or better yet, get it installed. As I mentioned before, we got a fairly decent deal on the price of the carpet, but after that, everything went downhill quickly. They even tried to sneak the cheaper and thinner grade of padding on our floors as well; after we paid for a better grade of padding. They unnecessarily pieced together many small portions of the padding in an area of one of the rooms as well. When they were done, we inspected the finished job and discovered the carpet was cut short and didn't meet the wall in all of the bedrooms. Now we know why. And get this : We were told that we were getting the best carpet installer they had. I shudder at the thought of getting their worst ! Because the installation was below par, we wanted someone from the store to look at it, but they kept avoiding us completely. We just continually got lip service over the phone. The owner is no where to be found. We tried talking to the guy when we went to the store, and the coward just went into his office and drew his blinds and ignored us. He was too busy to deal with his customers. He got our money I guess, why should the loser deal with us? The woman who heads up the customer service department had the nerve to yell on the phone asking us if we are experts on carpet installation. REALLY !? How are they still in business with this unbelievable behavior going on ? Maybe karma will have the last word when it comes to the future of this business. I am reminded of the life story : when you sow a bad seed, you reap a bad crop, or no crop at all. We will never EVER deal with them again. We found another place to get flooring; for a much better price, and the installers are more than capable,.... and also with a better labor price bonus as well. One thing that was a notable red flag to be wary of is that they require everything be paid up front before installation. Most businesses that are honorable would never demand that. We paid for half down initially to cover most of the price of the carpet. In hindsight, the whole deal was sketchy and suspect. Unfortunately we got burned as result of it. It's a good lesson and an even better thing that we paid with a credit card. I believe I smell a dispute in the near future. I can only hope we will receive some form of redemption. UPDATE: We finally got someone to come out and look at the poor installation. They sent out a guy who stretched the carpet to fit to the wall. Whatever. I am just glad to wash my hands clean of this frustrating experience. I hope the end has been realized.
