Carmen and her team have been cleaning my house for a couple of years now and they do a great job! They come on a monthly basis and charge a fair market rate. If there are any special instructions, I can just text Carmen and let her know and she gets back to me in a timely manner. I heard about their services from a friend and have recommended them a couple of times myself and everyone I've recommended has been pleased with their work. Overpriced, inconsistant, unreliable and hazardous to pets. The first time Kaza was here they did a really good job. The owner, Carmen, asked me to give them a positive review on Yelp. I chose not to because the request seemed kind of sleezy to me. I give good reviews because people earn them, not because they ask for it. Kaza's started out strong, but over time their quality really faltered. There was no consistency to when during the day they would come. They would call and ask if they could come at a certain time and then not show up until two hours later. Twice they broke something and said they would replace it or pay for it, and didn't. Nor did they credit me on my invoice. They constantly locked my pets into hot rooms with no water, food or open vents. On occasions when I would forget to leave a check they would ask if they could come by at a certain time or day, and then wouldn't show up. Then they would show up on some random day or random time and be confused why there wasn't any check. On their last day here they charged me $150 and were here for two hours. The place looked terrible. My husband said that it was someone other than the regular crew who was here. I called to complain and ask that they credit us something towards our next cleaning. They said no. Their position is that their prices are fair and it is a set price per clean, not by hour. I could understand that if they consistently did a good job. But you can't charge someone $150, spend two hours and leave their house looking half-assed. When I fired them and asked them for my key I asked them to leave it in my mail slot. They said no, they had to hand it to me in person and asked if they could come over Sunday. My husband stayed home especially to accomodate them and they didn't show up. Then Monday they came when nobody was here and left the key under the mat. You get the idea. read more

For our third cleaning with Kaza, my roommate forgot and no one was here when they arrived. I called back immediately to apologize and set up another cleaning. After three tries, I felt really frustrated that no one would call me back over the course of a month. Strangely enough, I got a call right after I wrote this "update" review. We set up a cleaning. The night before, Carmen called me about the updated review. She said that it wasn't her fault no one was at my apartment and she works hard that and is busy and that's why she didn't call me back for so long. She then said she would not come and clean our place because of the review, even after I told her I would take it down. This was so unprofessional and she wouldn't try to work it out at all. I definitely will NOT recommend Kaza to anyone. Sometimes cheaper means worse service. read more

We have been using Kaza and Carmen to clean our house for a couple of years now. First occasionally when we got lazy and now more regularly. She has been absolutely great dealing with our normal mess and more specific stuff like scrubbing down the bathroom walls when they started to get a little bit fuzzy or cleaning the floors downstairs when it rains and our dogs track in mud. Most days the team is here our paths don't even cross, I head out in the morning and text the garage code and I come back after work to a sparkling home. On the text note, Carmen always responds quickly to requests and has many time been able to fit me in quickly even though I'm terrible at scheduling in advance. Its amazing how much more relaxing a visit from the in-laws is when you've had Kaza clean your house. Go for it. read more

Carmen and her team are the BEST! They have been cleaning my various apartments for the last four years - she has followed me with my moves around San Francisco. She brings her own supplies (including vacuum, broom, rags, cleaning solutions, etc). She is extremely thorough, and will happily focus on certain areas at your request. She is easy to communicate with and is very trustworthy. Carmen adds a lot of personal touches like folding the towels and the toilet paper. She has a great crew and finishes in a very timely manner. I had been using the same cleaning folks ever since we moved to Pacifica in 2005 and was horrified when they moved on to other careers. Who else would do such a good job? Who else could I trust? Who else was professional and reliable? I'm pleased to report that Kaza's House Cleaning filled some very big shoes. After several visits (I was hesitant to make any recommendations after just one), I have been impressed with Carmen's work and that of her speedy and efficient staff. Amazing job! I had to move out of a rental on short notice that had a rodent infestation - another Housecleaning Service came out to provide a quote and told me that they didn't want the job. This company came with two incredibly hard-working ladies. They cleaned the stove and the inside of the refrigerator - something that some other companies don't do. The end result was sparkling clean and almost miraculous, due to the original state it was in. By the final walk-through, the house looked brand new. I scheduled Kaza for a move-out cleaning of my apartment about 5 days in advance. I had to reschedule that date and left a message on their voicemail. I never heard back, so I called again a couple days later. They said that was fine and they could do around 11-11:30AM on my selected day. Well, 11:30 rolled around and I expected them any minute as I received no phone calls otherwise. Note that I needed to apartment cleaned because I had to turn over the keys the next day. Well, at 12PM I called the company. It went straight to voicemail after 1 ring. I left a message asking what was going on and what their ETA was. No response. 12:30pm called again, straight to voicemail, left another message. By this time I was panicked because I had planned this out to be able to turn my keys in, and really didn't want to get on my hands and knees to clean the apartment from head to toe. So, I called around and scheduled a different company within about 20 minutes. (I also had a variety of errands to run and this was completely ruining my schedule.) Kaza called me at about 1:40pm (appt was for 11:30am) and said it was their appointment time and they were running late, could they come at 4PM? I noted that they were incorrect and I no longer needed their services, and she still tried to reschedule for another day! Uck. read more

I am sorry to have to write a poor review, but Kaza's stood me up twice and was not even apologetic. She gets her clients to write these favorable reviews and I am not sure that all are real- several have been filtered by Yelp as possibly being fakes. While she did a good job in the beginning, she is very unreliable and some of her workers are not well trained, such as taking it upon themselves to wash expensive cashmere sweaters in a washing machine and shrinking them. She can be very unresponsive via the phone or text messages, even when I know she has gotten them, and makes up strange excuses for being unresponsive. I had to fire her. So, after an initial good experience, I cannot recommend Kaza's Please NOTE- my experience is very similar to that of Brendan N., who I do not know. So, I think it is a pattern with Kaza's and thus her unprofessional behavior has been observed by others. read more

Carmen and her teammates were absolutely fantastic. They cleaned every inch of our apartment and charged much less than the going-rate. I'd highly recommend these folks... As a side note, they're also very friendly and quiet while cleaning... I was working from home while they were cleaning and they made a point not to disturb me. Wonderful work! I love getting my house cleaned by Kaza. They come monthly and the cleaners are friendly, honest, always on time, and do such a great job of thoroughly cleaning the house. Here are some examples. They clean the stove top and oven. They take out the fridge drawers and clean the mess in there. They wash the dishes and take out the trash. They change the bedding. Vacuum and mop the floor. They get the bathroom shiny. They move things on the desk or counter to clean underneath. They wipe everything they can get their hands on. The house smells clean but not noxious. They charge $85 for my one bedroom loft and spend about 1.5 hrs cleaning everything. It's a joyous day when Kaza comes to clean. =) read more

The quality of service that Kaza's provides is truly exceptional. Carmen conducts her business in a very polite and professional manner, and her standard for the word 'clean' is pretty much as high as it can get. Carmen and her team clean EVERYTHING. For example, I have a collection of fragrances on display in my bathroom and they cleaned each of the approximately 50 bottles individually. Also, while Carmen was cleaning a bookcase I saw her take the time to even polish a bookmark that was laying on the shelf. It is clear that she takes great pride in her work and instills the same ethic in her team. If you read through the reviews the same words come up again and again - sparkling, shiny, gleaming, and those are really apt descriptions. Carmen and her team have been providing service to our family since 2008. She is extremely trustworthy, reliable and her cleaning service is always top notch. She takes care of our 3 bedroom, 3 bath Victorian on a weekly basis and we cannot be happier with her efforts. We have two small children and a cat, and when Carmen leaves it's almost as if none of those grub-makers has ever existed.
