I went for a dental cleanse to Dr Lim at GDL Dental in Culver City and after dozens of x-rays they said that I had 7 cavities that needed treatment. Then I went to consult Dr Tomimatsu paying out of my pocket to get a second opinion and after he checked and x-rayed me told me that NO cavities were found and my teeth were healthy. Dr. Tomimatzu is the most honest dentist you can find!! The others, like Dr Lim at GDL dental located at 11725 W Washington Blvd Los Angeles CA 90066, are willing to destroy your teeth i order to make a profit. Dr. Tomimatsu is the best Dentist I ever had. I was having a problem with old implant that was not installed correctly. Although I ended up redoing the implant, he tried the best he could with a crown before redoing implant. Also he helped me from paying for the crown twice. I have been going to Dr. Tomimatsu's practice for better than five years and have been nothing but satisfied with the conduct of the front desk, billing, scheduling, cleaning, and interaction with the dentist himself. I especially appreciate the work of my long-standing hygienist, Linda Burger. She takes the time to carefully inspect and clean my teeth quickly and safely. Linda is pleasant and helps entertain me with her light-hearted banter that I've come to look forward to every six-months. My most recent visit did happen since the pandemic began and I can say their safety protocols were strict with an emphasis on compliance. This all put me at ease. I saw Dr. Tomimatsu for about a year and a half, when I worked in the Westchester area. I must say, the office is in a convenient location, parking is easy to find, and the offices are nice and clean. The staff is really friendly and appointments were easy to book. I don't remember ever having to wait for a long period of time before being seen. I enjoyed Dr. Tomimatsu's professional demeanor - he comes in, does his work, and then explains it to you in a clear manner. It's much appreciated. If I didn't change insurance plans (which now does not cover Dr. Tomimatsu's services), then I wouldn't have changed dentists. read more

Wow! I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Tomimatsu. My wife and I were fed up with the local dentists trying to make up stuff to sell to us and sketchy bills that come three months later for costs you had no idea were so high. Dr. Tomimatsu and his staff we the opposite and could not have been more pleasant during my visit! I was able to get an appointment within a few weeks. Once I arrived he took a few x-rays did a cleaning and sent me on my way. No up-sells, no lectures that my gums needed scraping. Just an honest guy that told me what I did and did not need. Even though Dr. Tomimatsu has received mostly 5 star ratings, I am giving him a one. He made two large errors in diagnosing my dental issue. I came in with severe pain in my upper jaw and pain in the lower one on the left side of my mouth. There was an infection and an abscess forming for which I would need an antibiotic. Dr. T said he would not prescribe one right now since it would be difficult for the Endodontist to diagnose which tooth needed a root canal. He said the tooth which needed attention was in the upper jaw, #14. He did not examine the lower jaw even though I kept telling him it hurt. When I saw the Endodontist, he said the antibiotic should have been administered immediately so I would not have suffered with so much pain. Diagnosing the right tooth had nothing to do with my being on an antibiotic. Second error was misdiagnosis of location of tooth in need of a root canal. The tooth that needed treating was in the lower jaw #19 at the site of the infection. Dr. T did not respond or examine the lower part of my mouth even though I said it hurt. He took one X-Ray of my upper jaw. These two unnecessary errors caused me much discomfort and severe pain. read more

I found Dr. Tomimatsu exactly 10 years ago on Nextdoor. I absolutely love him and before I went to him, I was never a fan of going to the dentist. He's gentle, never over books, doesn't do unnecessary dental work, has a great staff and I would recommend him to anyone. My husband, who really does not trust dentists due to past experiences, is a huge fan of Dr. Tomimatsu. It took me a couple of years to convince my husband to try him and now I can honestly say he has no fear or hesitancy of going to the dentist. I've been getting my teeth cleaned for about 2 years, twice a year. I was looking for a new dentist that expected my insurance and found them on Yelp. Good reviews so I went with it. Good decision. Great Staff. Easy to make appointments. Teeth cleaning is always a breeze. Dr. is pretty laid back and is really careful. Doesn't try to sell you on a ton of work.....just what you need - if you even need it. The office is clean and has a ton of parking. Prices are reasonable. Works with my insurance. I'm so happy that I had finally found a great dentist! I was able to make an appointment right away, and there was no wait once I got to the dentist office. Professional service with reasonable price. Many other dentists try to max out on your insurance allowance, but this dentist does not do that. He only fixed the tooth that really needed to be repaired whereas other dentists told me I need to fix several more teeth and tried to sell me an expensive night guard. Dr. Tomimatsu and his staff are great. I recently moved to LA and was in the need of a new dentist. After some yelp searching, I couldn't believe a dentist had such great reviews. So, I gave this place a shot and I'm glad I did! The staff is great and super helpful. They don't try to make you do things that are unnecessary and expensive. The office is no frills, small, kinda old building, but very clean-- they are located in a huge shopping center, so tons of parking is available. I love that they change up their office hours during the week. They have appointments available after 5pm on some days, which is super convenient because it means I don't have to take off work to go to the dentist! It would be great if they were open on Saturdays, but maybe that is asking too much. I know there are a lot of people who are terrified of dentists, especially if they haven't gone in a while-- but, I referred my little sister, who hadn't been to a dentist in years! Dr. Tomimatsu made a usually stressful situation a surprisingly pleasant experience! I went in for a suspected cavity, and ended up needing a filling. It being my first time I've ever had to get a numbing shot, he made it as quick and painless as possible, stopping every now and then to make sure I was still doing okay during the process.
