Found Dr. Montgomery's office from reviews on here, and as other reviews have noted, he's great. He spent time to review x-rays on my first visit, and was very thorough going over everything and talking through concerns. The nurses and staff were kind, patient, and professional as well. This was my first visit to a dentist since the start the pandemic. Everyone I saw wore a mask, and they had air purifiers running in the exam rooms. I appreciated that they were still taking precautions even as other medical facilities have started doing less. I never felt like anyone was rushing, but everything was on time and I was out of there within 5 minutes of their estimate. I am very happy with Dr Montgomery. They take the Covid regulations seriously and follow all protocol. Even before Covid, they scheduled accordingly where I never wasted my time in the waiting room. All the staff is incredibly nice, and Dr Montgomery himself is incredibly nice, soft handed, and knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain what the issues are and what to do about the issue. Best Dentist and friendliest staff ever!!! Dr. Montgomery took sooooo much time with me and my cleaning. It was a lot of work because I hadn't been to the dentist in way too long. He was patient, took time to explain why flossing is more important than for just gum health and had such a calm, assured demeanor! He is respectful to his staff in addition to his patients. I had not been to the dentist in a year and I was dreading the first appointment back. I was no longer living by my old dentist and I found Dr. Montgomery's office through yelp. I was absolutely blown away by the experience. He had to take X rays as I had not had any done in years and it was my first time at his office. From the cleaning to the X rays and the actual examination (were he went over my X rays in detail and explained how everything looked and worked) it was a wonderful process. I've never had a dentist go into so much detail regarding X rays, flossing and Whitening trays. I cannot stress how much I love Doc M. I've referred anyone I can to him. I started going to his practice when I lived about 10 minutes from there, and even though for the past 12 years I've lived a good 35 minutes from there, I still won't see any other dentist. Plus, YOU CANNOT BEAT THE VIEW FROM YOUR CHAIR as you have work done! A year or so ago, to try to save money, I cheated on Doc M. I used some stupid coupon to see a dentist close-by for x-rays and the whole lot, only to have them try to scam me by telling me I needed $1600.00 worth of dentistry and that they couldn't even clean my teeth for some vague reason. I went back there to get my x-rays to show to Doc M. and he confirmed my suspicions by telling me that, at best, I MIGHT EVENTUALLY need a couple things done, but that for now I am A-OK teeth-wise. I told him I was sorry for cheating on him and that it would never happen again. His staff is wonderful and gentle. My only beef is that it can take upwards of a good month or two to get an appointment, even just for a cleaning. But I guess that's because Doc M. is so good and his office is pretty small. He's the only dentist--it's a one-man show. However, I have NEVER had to wait more than maybe 5 minutes once I got there. They DO NOT overbook or stack appointments. read more

Dr. M is an amazing dentist!! He worked on my daughter who had a couple cavities and he was super nice and gentle. She didn't even need novacaine because he went slow and did it right. My husband just had a filling replaced by Dr. M today and the did such a good job. They only use the porcelain fillings so no more silver teeth!! He said he cant even tell he just something put on his tooth. He is very patient and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone!! Thanks Dr. M!!!!! (((Update))) It's been a little over a year now. But Dr. Montgomery and his staff have been a godsend. From the moment I called his office and spoke with Irene (the receptionist) I knew things were looking good because she took the time to follow up with my previous dentist to get my medical records. She also contacted my insurance company and actually found an error in their coverage letter, then faxed me a copy for review. Good first impression. Anyway I really can't say enough about Dr. Montgomery. He is a caring man with a nice smile and a kind heart, and just all around a kick-ass dentist. I came in with a problem caused by another dentist, and he fixed it- simple as that. He really takes the time to listen and I never get the feeling that he is rushed. He explains everything in great detail and answers all of my questions (which I tend to have a lot of considering I'm analyst). He's been in practice for over 30 years, served on the Peer Review Committee of the Western LA Dental Society for 10 years and decorated with numerous awards. In the past, I have not had much luck using Yelp to find a dentist. Most offices simply don't have any reviews. In my quest for the perfect dentist, I have been to 5 different dentists in the past three years (cleaning every 6 months, and some minor dental work). However, I have just found my new dentist. If Dr. Montgomery does not know something, he will not bluff his way through with some answer, but comes right out and tell you. I needed a specialist, and I went to the dentist he recommended, who was also great and deserves five stars too. He is concern about your comfort, he does not lecture you, but does explain what you should do while not being judgmental.. What more is there to say that has not been said. We don't go to his office for the view, but today I kidded his assistant about not having the view. His two primary rooms have the view. His other room is primary for X-Raying and some procedures. But, one does not wait long in the chair before getting ones teeth cleaned or a dental procedure and end up looking at the ceiling anyway. read more

I just got home from my appointment with Dr. Montgomery. Again, I can not give higher praise to a dentist, unfortunately I've needed a lot of dental care throughout my life and have seen many dentists over the years, however, Dr. Montgomery is the absolute best. I'm grateful the day I found him. Sincerely, he is most gentle when giving injections, I know, I'm a true chicken. He takes his time and doesn't rush the process, hence no pain. He listens to your needs and goes out of his way to address your questions and fears. I had two dental emergencies which necessitated calls for Dr. Montgomery's help, his immediate response, come right over, we'll fix it. Unbelievable in these days, but it's true. He goes out of his way to treat his patients in all situations. Dr. Montgomery went out of his way to help me when I had an industrial injury that involved broken teeth. The industrial insurance dentist wanted to pull the teeth. Thankfully, I asked for Dr. Montgomery's opinion. His exam, observation and opinion was very different, he said it looked like the teeth could be saved, but would need caps or veneers. He even accepted the provisions from injury insurance which meant much less money than he would receive for his services. It was not easy dealing with the insurance company and cost him personally. I cannot thank him for his help and patience and kindness. I am now the proud owner of beautiful veneers and my own teeth intact. I'm more than grateful. The other wonderful benefits to Dr. Montgomery's office; his staff, they're incredible. I'll start with sweet Irene, probably the first introduction to the office, always pleasant, listens to your needs and works diligently to get you the appointment that best suites you. Irene is a soft touch, you'll love her. Joy, a sincere joy, is my dental hygienist, love her. Joy is gentle and pleasant and insures a complete and through cleaning. Wow! I just came back from my first appointment with Dr. Montgomery, and I can't praise him and his team enough. Irene, the receptionist, was fantastic. She was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. She even caught a slip up from my insurance company (it says "prime dental coverage" on my card, but I only have emergency dental coverage - how misleading!) and, although I didn't have dental coverage, offered to give me a discount because she understood that I wasn't planning on paying for my entire visit alone. She also let me pay in installments even after the discount. She couldn't have been more accommodating and wonderful if she'd tried! Dr. Montgomery himself is great. I have severe dental anxiety after a lifetime of crappy, dishonest dentists, but Dr. Montgomery made me comfortable from the get go. He kept things light-hearted and was obviously looking out for my best interests instead of just trying to milk me for every penny (as previous doctors have tried to do to me). He saw some tooth decay, showed me where it was, and said that I could prevent it from becoming a cavity if I took better care of my teeth. I've never had a dentist point that out to me before; they usually reach for the drill immediately to charge me for fillings! I went in for wisdom tooth pain as well, and made it very clear that I didn't want to have them extracted unless and until I had to. He heard me out and gave me several options after explaining the situation to me in full based on my x-rays. I've never had such a thorough dental exam, and I'm DEFINITELY coming back! I was referred by a friend well over 15 years ago and Dr. M has been my favorite dentist ever since. I love how he will come and sit down with a serious look on his face after my teeth are cleaned and pretend to tell me how much I need a tooth tattoo of a battleship. I found Dr. Montgomery from reviews on Yelp and asking around my neighborhood. He came highly recommended. I went for a few cleaning visits but have not seen him since 2014. I stopped going because a deep cleaning was provided and not necessary which in turn was not covered by insurance. I received a couple of statements late 2014 and early 2015 that I paid. I have not received anything since January 2015. I just received a statement Oct 2017 saying I am delinquent and owe $123. I do not trust the billing or ethics of this practice and would not recommend to anyone. Please be aware if you are suggested any other treatment but a cleaning. He does not recommend more work than you need and in fact saved a friend $2000 in unnecessary procedures that another dentist recommended.
