We ordered brisket and if this is what you call bbq brisket then your better off serving cafeteria food, there was no flavor at all, bbq has a smoke ring yours has no ring like Dan Marino no ring. The Cole slaw tasted old and watery the burnt ends weren't even burnt and had zero flavor. For the $65 we dropped I should have just bought a brisket and did it at home. Would I order from or eat here again? YES. Overall I enjoyed most of the food and I'll go into detail a little more below, also note this was ordered off door dash so my experience and prices may be a little different. Burnt Ends - this was probably the most disappointing out of my order. It comes with a decent amount of meat and had I ate it all I would have been a little more full. For 16$ I was a little disappointed in the quality - most of the meat was extremely dry and required me to drink something just to get it down. On top of that some of the pieces were so dry it literally took me 40 seconds to break it down in my mouth. Some pieces were very tender and full of flavor and some of the more (very burnt ends) were like biting down on a hard candy lifesaver. Beef Brisket Slider - 8/10. I loved the flavor and the meat was so tender and juicy, thinking about it now with some pickles and bbq sauce on top is making my mouth water but the bun is barely a tad larger than a Hawaiian roll. You get more meat than will fit in the single bun which is nice but the slider itself is smaller than my palm and for nearly 7$ (not filling, I would recommend 2 orders) Slaw and Beans - I'll have to admit that the other reviews skewed me towards these options as I was going to choose my favorite potato salad but everyone claimed both the slaw and beans were worthy of a taste AND THEY WERE RIGHT. I'm not a huge slaw fan but this slaw was amazing. I actually wanted more and finished the entire bit. You get a good taste of everything and some fresh cracked black pepper. It's not too over saturated with dressing and honestly just right. The beans were also very delicious and comforting with some bits of diced onion inside. We got dinner on a weeknight, place was basically dead. We did get a discount on the dinner since we came in before 6pm. We ordered the half chicken and pork rib dinners with an additional order of the sausage. Chicken was very dry. I salvaged them the next day by adding a boat load of mayo to make chicken salad. Growing up in the Midwest my soul has craved for some delicious BBQ from Missouri and I found what I have been looking for! The restaurant does not have dine in, carry out only and they are located at the Federal way farmers market with their food truck. We ordered the brisket, rib tips, baked beans and potato salad. The entire meal came with slice white bread, pickles and sauce. The food was so delicious, the rib tips were our favorite only because the brisket was tasty but a little dry. Brisket is a difficult meat to smoke and keep juicy-pretty much baby siting the meat-I've made brisket at home and it takes time!!!!! The restaurant was very clean, well organized, lots of options to choose from, they offer bottled soda and I didn't see any dessert options but there's plenty of bakery's near if you have a sweet tooth afterwards. The lady who greeted us was friendly, polite and welcoming. Answering all my list of questions and made sure we received our complete order before leaving. Overall the entire meal was filling, full of flavor, tasty and felt like home while I eating it. I could picture sitting outside on my granny's front pouch, with the aroma of smoked meat in the air! My mom has been talking about this place for weeks! So tonight we ordered take out, did the BBQ beans, coleslaw and potato salad side with pork Ribs and Beef Brisket! Gotta say it was delicious!!! Federal Way WA. Tried this place out and it was okay. My girl is from KC and makes her own rub and sauce so she is hard to beat. The slaw was really salty and if it wasn't, would have probably been okay. I like the pickles with everything. Not high Q but nice cut to the smoke. I thought initially there was liquid smoke in the sauce but my body said no. Believe me, it knows. So not sure why the smoky flavor but I did like. Brisket was a little tough, but I got served the flat and not the point. I think when a single person is ordering multiple items that shouldn't all come with bread. I threw most away. Maybe ask? My wife and I decided to try a new spot we saw today. As we walked in, the smells were amazing HOWEVER, very deceiving. The service was okay, the gentleman who took our order was kind. Our biggest issue was the food. I find it to be a travesty when a bbq restaurant serves RESERS POTATO SALAD...not even homemade??? C'mon man....that's wack, why are you not taking pride and making your own? My other frustration was the burnt end dinner I ordered...I paid $19 for 4 burnt end pieces that were basically just fat, 2 pieces that were inedible and so tough I couldn't eat them, I had maybe a few good pieces but even then, the meat itself was LACKING in the flavor department. They sprinkled some type seasoning on top that was too sweet and overpowered any flavor the meat may have had. Spent $35 and had a 1 star experience. I'm highly disappointed. SMH read more

We love grabbing KC Deez for special events like Super Bowl and 4th of July. We like picking up the brisket and the baked beans are hands down, the best baked beans I've ever had!! A tip: the store hours can vary. So plan ahead if you want to pick up for a special day or holiday. You can place an order a day or two ahead. We find that 1/2 lb per person of the brisket is good, you may need less if purchasing other meats. If I have to pick up well in advance of our party, I'll just reheat at low temp covered to avoid drying out. Give this place a try!!! read more

Wow!!!! I should have taken a picture but I got caught up in the moment. I grew up in this neighborhood years ago but we recently bought a house where we moved from Whitecenter in Seattle... There are a lot of good BBQ spots in west Seattle and south Seattle so let me tell you. My wife told me about the $20 Sunday ribs so we decided to try it.... OMG those ribs were sooooo delicious!! I've traveled the world and country and I won't say they're the best I've ever had, but right now they are the best I can remember. We will be definitely returning to try everything on the menu. I wasn't there to pick up the food but my wife said it's a little hole in the wall. The location is clean and seems to be kept up. The woman working the counter was very sweet and helpful. I was craving BBQ and made a stop at KC Deez around 12:30 for lunch. I instantly eyed the 2-meat combo plate ($11.50) so I could sample a couple items, which also includes a small cup of coleslaw, bread, pickles and extra BBQ sauce. Despite being open from 11:00 to 2:00, they had already run out of both chicken AND pulled pork, which were my first two picks. Lesson learned: Beat the lunch rush and come early! The cashier listed off their other offerings including "burnt ends" (apparently their most popular), sausage, beef brisket, ribs and rib tips. I opted for the rib tips and brisket. The brisket was delicious - tender, juicy and easily pulled apart with my fork. Although I enjoyed the BBQ sauce, which was on the tangier side of the spectrum, the consistency was pretty thin. The brisket came in the form of a slider, and unfortunately my bottom bun was soaked through with BBQ sauce, making it completely soggy and inedible. As for the rib tips, they were on the drier end and I found the flavor of the meat masked by an overwhelming amount of smokiness. They tasted strongly of charcoal or liquid smoke... way too overpowering for my liking. As a plus, I loved the coleslaw and wish the combo included a larger portion than just a small cup. It was so refreshing and had a nice spicy kick from the dash of red pepper flakes mixed in. This is definitely one of the best coleslaws I've ever eaten! Overall, I honestly felt disappointed with my lunch. Perhaps I would have been more satisfied with the chicken and pork as I intended to order, but it seems like those two meats were winners among the lunch crowd that day as well. read more

I'm not from Texas, Kansas City, or anywhere where BBQ is huge to the local food culture.. so I can't speak or compare it to much.. but from a personal taste perspective, I think the food is here is really great. I ordered their lunch special 2 sliders and a side for about $10. I got the chopped chicken and slaw. The slaw was perfect, had just the right amount of sauce in it. The chopped chicken had a nice mesquite flavor to it, personally I prefer pulled chicken but still a win in my book. This place now open!!!!! You have to try it out. The food is delicious and the people are friendly and always smiling. My family are regulars to the truck on the weekends, almost got scared the store would never open. Now im from the midwest and appreciate a good seasoned meat without sauce. Ive learned some people slather the meat in sauce and there is no flavor else wise. 1. When picking up from the truck make sure you have the order #. 2. The meat itself has little seasoning, better with slaw or sauce. 3. The slaw has a hidden kick. It was surprising and I searched until i found the better flakes. It looks like a heavy mayo base, it is in fact more vinegar based. With the two meats come as over filled sliders. I've lived in the Midwest and the South for a few years, so I know great BBQ... and this wasn't that. I went to KC Deez for the first time and the only reason I would go back is for the pork ribs. It's edible, but not crave-able. The good: - Pork ribs fall of the bone goodness and a decent portion for the dinner plate. The dry rub on it was decent. - The beans were good, nice and soft with good flavor. - Decent BBQ sauce that came with the food and they gave plenty. - Clean front of the house. Can't comment on the kitchen because I couldn't see it. - Lady at the counter did her job and was friendly enough. The bad: - DON'T order the beef brisket unless you like eating saw dust. I couldn't eat it even after dipping it in the sauce. I ended up smashing it into smaller pieces and threw them in with the beans. Texture was soft and flaky, but they need to figure out the dryness problem. - Pickles as a condiment was nice, but they were soft and rubbery. Threw them into the compost. - Cole slaw also ended up in the compost. It was SO runny... perhaps I needed a slotted spoon.
