    Hotdogs with cheese sauce

Food is ordered at the bar. My husband enjoyed his Reuben very much. The hot dogs were simply okay. The quesadilla was good but tasted like the beans were uncooked. The Joe Mama's Beer was very good, even though I usually do not like dark beers. We chose this bar because it was dog friendly. There were plenty of other dogs roaming around inside the brewery.

We went here to meet some friends who live in the area. We had our dogs with us so had to find a place in the area that's dog friendly. And this place is the epitome of that! The owner is soooo nice and took a liking and more so an understanding to our dogs. One of our dogs is a nervous girl and they accepted her for who she is! We love true dog people. The beer was also wonderful I loved the apple amber ale it was a delicious seasonal beer. The place was fun, friendly for dogs and kids and an overall great place.

Yes they do flights. But our 'tender had to check to see if she could. Not quite sure I understand how that works. The inside is rustic and warm, inviting even. The decoration and music didn't quite fit the mood. Food truck outside was keeping people fed, and the food smelled good. We didn't partake, though.

We stumbled upon this place while we were driving and we were attracted by the large outdoor tent and lots of outdoor seating. You go inside and order at the bar and they bring the food to your table when it is ready. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the Cuban sandwich and they were both good for brewery food. They had live music the night that I was there and it was pretty loud inside.

Awesome indoor and outdoor spaces, variety of beers, and crowd. The bartenders were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I love the decor and vibes. Good for weekend day drinking and I'll have to try an evening show some time.

Another good brewery with good faire and friendly service. A great pit stop in the Kingston area. Thirsty and Hungry? Keegan.

During a recent trip upstate my friends and I decided to stop into Keegan Ales to enjoy a few local brews. We were looking for beers that were local and highly rated (which is when Keegan came up). We arrived on a Saturday around 4:30 P.M. For the most part the space only had a few other customers within the brewery. We were a group of five so we snagged the long table in the middle of the general seating area. The cool thing about this brewery is that it seems to double as a bar and a concert venue! When you walk through the main entrance you can see the stage where bands perform on the right and to the left is the bar area itself. The staff here was also knowledgable and friendly. I'd recommend coming here with a group for chill vibes with the chance you might get to see some live music as well!

As my readers know: I bleed beer and sweat whiskey. Keegan Ales in Kingston is a New Yorker's saloon. It sits right smack in the middle, on an intersection. A literal 'watering-hole' and a superb place for large groups: celebrations, season-winning get-togethers and bachelor parties. Sure there are some 'old' irish-pubs in Manhattan, run by - who knows. But Kingston was New York's first capital, not Manhattan - this is where the grit and the road meet; parties develop! This is upstate rowdy. This is where beer is drunk by the pint. Where conversations sink in.. At Keegan Ales the floors are sprinkled in saw dust and peanut shells, there are snacks galore. It is a giant room with plenty of tables and bar stools. Music is hopping. Lights are actually ON (nobody scrimping on power). There are awesome Americana graffiti outside to take selfies in front of. Beers will not run out. People come and go and come and go. You want Hudson Valley beer? You want a serisouly ill place on Saturday? You want lots of beer varieties and cool bartenders? Want to meet girls in dresses, gals in tie-dies, army soldiers, the down-and-out, college business students, film directors, artists, travelers, day-laborers? Come to Keegan. This is how we do - New York style!

I visited this brewery when visiting my friend on a Saturday night. Due to Covid the main bar area had been mostly cleared of tables so it was very open. Inside it has wood flooring, old wood tables and a small to medium sized bar. I can imagine pre-Covid it would have been a rather tight fit to try and order your drinks. Outside they had a tent set up with seating, a live band, and a food truck. We didn't try the food truck, instead we played some darts inside. My husband got a coffee milk stout which was very smooth and creamy. I don't really drink beer and even I liked it. I would recommend it as a place to check out if you like a smaller bar with good beer.

    Flights were awesome

Flights were awesome, 16$ for 5. They have plenty of choices to pick from, lagers, IPA, stouts, and ales. Super laid back, got an order of wings that were pretty good, the employees were friendly and the regulars (pups) are super friendly also.

Keegan Ales is a wee bit out of the way for a Jersey girl like me, but drag your boyfriend to Hunter Mountain to go zip-lining and Keegan Ales is conveniently on your way home (well, kind of after a few miles off the NY Thruway). Pulling up, don't be scared. You'll find yourself going through an urban residential area before finding a nondescript brick building. Parking is across the street, and once inside you'll be transported to another world. The beer is good, and you'll find many regulars getting non beer cocktails. The food is OK (not great, but your standard bar food), and the environment is fun and lively. We opted for two flights (something that seemed to bewilder everyone else who were seeing it for the first time) and stayed long enough to enjoy the scene. Unfortunately we left just as the live band was starting, but found it fun to see the parties and the patrons who were young and old. Since it's out of my way, we won't be back often. However, I would stop by again when I'm in the area.

    Sunday night at the bar.

Went up to the rooftop & what a nice dinner we had. We decided to split the GEM Apple Salad(to die for) Strega Pinsa(pizza,w/mozz,ricotta,italian sausage, broccoli rabe) so frickin good, and some Thai wings(my least favorite, missing the flavor for me a little) I ordered a vodka drink called Strega "something", lol, can't think of the name but it had mint in it and very tasty. Of course our fat asses ordered the 3 Gelato flavors, and ate it all!!! It was so good. The best thing about the whole thing was Dillon, our server, who could take everything we dished out & gave back to us,2 50something divas, we enjoyed bantering with him, and over all, he was super gracious & sweet. Thank you! A winner in my book!

The highlight of our dinner was the truffle fries. We ordered the mussels appetizer, and it was flavorless. My BF enjoyed his burger, but the seafood Alfredo I had was quite disappointing; the pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce left much to be desired; it could've used more sauce and flavor. The restaurant is pricey; just a side order of truffle fries was $11.

They have a lot of seating and a good menu price range. My favorite thing about the menu is that they have duck fat fries! If you never had your French fries fried in duck fat then you are missing out!!! Now I wish I could give them 3.5 stars. I highly raved about this place but the last time I came it was such a disappointment. Our waitress though very friendly was not very attentive. We couldn't find her when we needed things and when we asked for things she didn't bring them. Now I'm sure she was busy and we never complained but that mixed with the fact that our food was just alright made me drop it a few stars. Also the cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't the best, including the glassware. Now to be fair every other time I have come the food was fantastic. I typically always get the general tso fried chicken sandwich and I love it. So maybe it was an off day we all have those. I will go back again and see if they redeem themselves! Also I just want to make mention the sandwiches do not come with duck fat fries you have to specifically ask for them to be the duck fat ones.

After a few small tastes of the beers on tap, we each settled on a pint. My favorites were the Marzen, which was like a light and crisp Oktoberfest, and the Rauchbier, which possessed an unique smokiness. We also shared a soft Pretzel, which was the best we had ever had! Its sourdough interior was made from a locally-sourced flour, and its exterior had a rich, brew-inspired coating. It was served with a creamy, salted butter that was divine. We did not try one of their many creative pizzas that had been cooked in their stone oven, but they looked and smelled spectacular! Between my girlfriend and I, we tried most of the menu. To me the two standouts were the Schwarzbier (4.9% black lager) and the Co+lab (4.2% English ESB). Both were smooth and flavorful with a slight lingering bitterness. Low ABV makes them both quite quaffable, as they describe one of their other beers. We're from NJ where breweries are only allowed to serve the beer they brew on site and nothing else, so seeing food, wine, and cocktails on the menu was a novelty for us. We didn't try anything besides the beer, but there were some impressive offerings including a penicillin cocktail, and Knackwurst, oysters, and a variety of pizza. Overall a cool spot that we would definitely come back to if we're in the area again.
